Definitely one of my favorite happy hour spots. Affordable food options and *Take care of theBartenders and they take care of you* Service is amazing and I love chatting it up with the bartenders. Good vibes and you can def meet good people here that's kill time from the local hotel. Also great spot to watch games and spots bet of prop bets lol

Absolutely 10/10!! Came here for the first time with my hubby celebrating our wedding anniversary and I was blown away with how great the food and service was! Shane was an excellent waiter and knew how to recommend us the best food! My hubby and I had the salmon and lemon chicken pasta with the sake red sangria...omg 10/10 I've been craving it ever since lol! Cant wait to go back to such a relaxing and delicious atmosphere!

Came to Kona Grill on a snowy Sunday night for dinner with my sister. It was relatively quiet because most people I'm assuming decided to stay cozy inside. We started off with having the spicy shrimp tempura and that was not a hit. We did not enjoy it. Something about the taste threw us off. Then we got the crab crunch rolls which was okay but I've honestly had better sushi at Shop Rite. Then for my meal I wanted something light so I got the Asian Salad. The Asian Salad wasn't too bad but overall the food did not taste fresh to me. The restaurant just did not give cleanliness in terms of the smell so I think that contributed to me not enjoying my food as much. It had this old smell to it and then I went to use the women's bathroom and the floor was super sticky. Like it looked clean but when I was walking my shoes were sticking to the bathroom floor. Our booth was nice and roomy but the sits had some tears in it. Overall I will say that the restaurant looks decent but there are things that contributed to the unattractiveness for me personally. I guess if the food was fire the other stuff wouldn't have bothered me as much. You definitely tend to notice more things when the food isn't too good. As for the service, the service was AWESOME our waitress was super nice and friendly. So I will say the service was great.

Let's start of by saying the service was great. The waitress we had was friendly and attentive. That being said the restaurant as a whole could use some upgrades and there was a hint of an odor that lingered in the air. Overall the food was a miss for me. Maybe it had to do with what I ordered or the fact that it was a snowy night but the food did not taste fresh. The spicy tempura shrimp had an after taste and instead of being spicy it was more lemony 3/10. The crab crunch roll was good, but did not taste as fresh as sushi I had in the past 6/10. For my main I went with the Asian salad, and the Asian dressing they added to the salad was actually pretty good but once again the salad itself wasn't fresh 7/10.

Kona grill is a fantastic spot specifically for their happy hour deals! They have a standard happy hour as well as an evening HH (I believe it's 8 or 9PM onwards). The HH deals have a decent selection of drinks and apps at a discounted price. I don't think I would come to pay full price for the apps/ entrees (it did feel a little overpriced for what it was). We started with the 2 for $25 sushi deal (we got a vegetarian sushi roll and a tuna avocado roll) and then got a few HH apps. The only app I don't recommend is the angry edamame- we have a pretty good spice tolerance and we couldn't even make a dent in this dish. The decor was nice, service was great and a nice vibe overall!

Came to have an early breakfast with the family for Father's Day. The place was able to get us in and it was quite empty. Servers were fast and overall the service was good. There was plenty of parking and the overall atmosphere in the restaurant is fine. I did notice the cups were not washed very well and it grossed me out a little bit. Food wise I thought everything tasted very basic, the sunny side up eggs tasted off and everything was just pretty basic, we were hungry and the food was fine. I wouldn't necessarily say it set off my flavor senses.

Easily located off Rt 1 South and ample parking. Many interesting Asian-influenced items. I've been here a few times and noticed that the sushi is significantly more expensive than local family-owned sushi restaurants. Our waiter Hasan was friendly and even brought out extra Bibb lettuce for the "build your own" Lettuce Wraps as we had run out. However he must've been assigned more tables after our entrees were delivered because we didn't see him much afterwards and our water glasses needed a refill. The food was significantly more spicy than we remembered or anticipated, especially the Chicken & Shrimp Lettuce Wraps which tasted like the filling had way too much heat added (perhaps chili garlic sauce or sriracha). I liked the option of the Sushi & Salad, but again no real option for just a Tuna or Yellowtail Roll without a spicy addition, though I eventually decided to get the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and asked for it without sriracha. Of course the BBQ Chicken Flatbread was spicy as well. Next time we will ask for no added spice in all of our dishes as we like to taste the proteins without the added heat.

Happy hour dumplings... were warm, not hot.

I will say what attracted me to this restaurant was the menu and drink selections that I saw online, in addition to their happy hour. However, the happy hour was hilariously skimpy. I don't even think the margaritas were four or 5 ounces. I ordered the chicken appetizer and got one. I ordered the dumplings and got three. The service was a little iffy and I felt bad for the bartender because it was clearly his first night on the job and he seemed lost. I would agree with most of the other reviews left for this restaurant in that it's mediocre at best. For a place called Kona. I also expected a little bit better, ambience and vibe, but it was pretty standard for the bar scene.

This was the chicken and macadamia nut sauce beyond delicious illegal. It was so good. It should've been illegal.

Experience great and attentive waiter, so Service 5/5 I wish I could say the same for the food. Menu extensive but quite expensive for quality and tiny amount of food received.Looks everything is driven by Happy Hour starting at 2pm. But who eats lunch at 2pm on a weekday. Will have to come back during happy hour to try more.

Very nice restaurant. The ambiance of this place is very nice and they have a great happy hour that includes many menu items and is priced very well. The menu is also very diverse and offers different cuisines. The quality of the food however....the definition of basic. Nothing to write home about but if you just want to meet up for a drink with some friends without breaking the bank then this is the place. It's convenient, the service is good and it's not that pricey. But you get what you pay for...

*Roaches and Horrible service‼** This is a shame that I even have to leave such a review on Father's Day. We have been sitting here an hour and 20 minutes ( still no food). The restaurant is empty, which should have been a red flag, and we are constantly being told that the kitchen is backed up. I am unsure of how or why they could be backed up when the restaurant is empty nonetheless this will be our last time here, especially due to the fact that during our previous trip there were roaches in the booth inside of this restaurant and the manager went as far as to give us complementary drinks and dessert. . Unfortunately, though I can still see this restaurant does not care for its patrons and has absolutely NO idea of what customer service is.. There is no reason for management to attempt to "make it right", we simply prefer to never dine with your establishments nor recommend them To anyone else .. simple‼

Ask the Community - Kona Grill

Is the cilantro lime chicken main entree still a menu item? I'm not seeing it on the menu for ordering but it's available at every other Kona location.

    Is there indoor dining?

    As of today 02/12/21 yup.

Is outdoor seating still available? Are the windows open in the outdoor patio to allow for air circulation

Yes but no heat unless you sit in the patio. You have to ask them to open the windows.

From what I've heard, it usually gets packed during peak sports seasons--but we happened to hit a lull (post-football, pre-baseball, and no major games on), so we basically had the place to ourselves. That actually worked in our favor--the quieter atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy conversation without the usual sports bar chaos. Drinks were a highlight. I went with the sangria, which was refreshing and well-balanced. Instead of ordering full entrees, we decided to share a bunch of appetizers. Everything that came out looked great, and everyone in the group seemed really happy with the flavors. As someone with a gluten allergy, though, I was pretty limited in what I could order. The ribs ended up being one of my only real options--but thankfully, they were tender, flavorful, and definitely the standout for me. Still, I do wish there were more gluten-free choices, especially since we were there to celebrate and share food. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was that we felt a bit rushed toward the end of the meal. We didn't even get the chance to order a birthday dessert, which was disappointing given the occasion, but seeing since it was only our group there I'm sure they were ready to close and go home. Service overall was attentive and friendly while we were dining, so no complaints there otherwise. It was winter when we visited, but I can see this being a great spot in warmer months--the outdoor seating looks like it would really add to the experience. Parking was easy on a Sunday night, and they do have a lot, but make sure to read the signs carefully since some spots are reserved for the theater next door. Overall it has a great vibe, solid drinks, and food that people clearly enjoy--I just wish there were more gluten-free options so I didn't leave still a little hungry.

I recently tried the chef's 8-course tasting menu, and it was perfectly paced--the small plates are proportionately sized so you leave feeling satisfied rather than overwhelmed. Every dish is a standout with deep, "stacked" flavors; even the ingredients I was skeptical about ended up being favorites. Nothing needed a drop of extra seasoning. The service sets a warm, welcoming tone from the start. We were offered Oshibori (Japanese warm towelettes) to refresh our hands, and getting a fresh set of utensils with every course was a high-end touch I really appreciated. Menu Highlights: Taro Fritter: A sweet-textured appetizer inspired by Chinese desserts, topped with caviar and soy-pickled beets. It was a beautiful way to awaken the palate. Mackerel Crudo: As someone who isn't usually a fan of raw dishes, I was surprised by how much I loved this. It's light, perfectly acidic, and balanced with plum, ponzu, and apple. Grilled Sunchoke: This was "rustic elegance" in a bowl. The smell alone is incredible, and the combination of ginger crab and shellfish butter is pure comfort. Braised Beef Cheek: So tender you can skip the knife and just use your fork. Since I forgot to BYOB, I tried their house-made Luck & Love hibiscus drink. It was actually ridiculous and unacceptable. -Music started out great with the DJ playing all the fun dance music from the 70's and 80's and then moved on to the 90's and then to ALL Hispanic music. I'm sorry but that is not ok. Yes it was upbeat and fun to watch all the fabulous Latinos take the dance floor but it was such a small dance floor that there wasn't room for anyone and it was obvious that the second half of the cruise was for the Hispanic population since they were on the dance floor. Not right for the rest of the guests though. -When you go on the ship, you have to stand outside in line and one party at a time gets to go in and be seated, which means you stand outside for a while in the cold. There is a very steep ramp to go down and then back up at the end which is not good for anyone with medical issues or back problems or disabilities. It was somewhat dangerous in the wet icy conditions so just be aware. Also the same holds true for having to walk the many stairs to go up two levels to get outside to see anything. -On a personal note, I brought my 17 year old and she has had anxiety in the past but was excited to go. When we were seated we were out with two older couples and my daughter became anxious about it and asked if we could get a table by ourselves. The hostess said she would see what she could do (it WAS possible just inconvenient for them). She never came back, did not have the courtesy of following up to make sure my daughter was ok staying where we were). No it is not their issue if my daughter has anxiety but it is not ok for her to say she would figure out another spot for us and then just ignore the request. Could improve that aspect of customer service. Would I go again? I think this is more of a one time thing if it's something you are wanting to do for the experience and the view but a nice evening for dinner in a unique setting if you don't care as much about the other things and just are there for a dinner out on the town.

Enjoyed the cruise ! Three hours with nice voyage, dinner was good and music for dancing. Nice to…read morewell outside on deck and relax and take pictures! Worth the money.
