I get that Christmas Eve is a popular time to try to get dinner but if you can't handle it, don't take reservations. My family made a reservation a week ago at 6:45 (only time available) and when we arrived we were told it was essentially first come first serve. I asked for clarification and they said it was a 25-45 minute wait. They said they would call us. We got an email 10 minutes later that the reservation was cancelled. We returned home hungry with zero alternatives. Thanks Bonefish. Many restaurants simply inform their patrons that they have a finite amount of time at a table to turn them (2-2.5hr) and make the process work. read more

Overall, I think theyve scaled down creativity from 4 yrs ago and made meals to a price...I can appreciate that as we are all under budget strain, but when I go out, I want something I cant make myself. They used to have a "dynamite salmon" dish that elevated their creativity b/c it had an interesting sauce and a bit of crab on top. Sadly, their vegetable/rice needs work- zero seasoning, and many times, the asparagus is tough or very overcooked. Anyone could cook it. If you get mashed potatoes- you get about 3 fork full (wont satisfy a hungry man). Their steaks are not on par with other upper steak restaurants. Mine was thin and overcooked but I ate it anyway. We came here tonight for my Birthday! Heard they had great fish and chips. I had a Smoked Old Fashioned and she had a Pomegranate Martini. Both of which were very good. We were seated straight away! And Niki came right over and I'm just gonna say, she was the perfect example of what a server should be!! She made recommendations based on her own experience and she was very attentive, but not too attentive, I know you know what I mean. She didnt leave us wanting for anything and for the first time in a long time, she didnt come over and ask us questions immediately after we'd taken a bite of food! I had the fish and chips and she had the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos and the Kung Pow Brussel Sprouts. I have nothing to say except.everything was amazing!! I'm not sure what happened here, but it wasn't good. This used to be a solid restaurant -- or maybe it never was, and I just didn't notice until now. The one highlight was the salad, which was excellent. I would genuinely come back just for that. But the rest of the meal was a big disappointment. The presentation felt more like a Friday-night bingo dinner than a restaurant meal. Both entrées -- my salmon and my husband's Chilean sea bass -- were completely underwhelming. The little potatoes on my plate looked like they were tossed on as an afterthought, possibly microwaved and sent straight out. It seems like the location, the bar scene, and the overall liveliness are what keep people coming, because it certainly wasn't the food. And to make things stranger, my husband asked for an iced tea and was told the tea machine was broken. Do they not know how to make tea by hand, or was that really true? We have been to this Bonefish many, many times ever since it opened its doors. We've moved farther away but still occasionally come back to enjoy the menu and the service. Last night was not a good one for the restaurant. First, Mel, our waitress, did a great job. Hats off to her! The restaurant was exceptionally messy with multiple tables not bussed. It looked like a party had broken out and no one cleaned up afterwards. There was a jumble of chairs just tossed into the corner behind our booth. Not stacked and neatly waiting to be used. Tossed into a pile. It was very odd. There were 4 of us and we all ordered mahi mahi. They were all fine except mine which was wildly overcooked and dried out. The kitchen also forgot the sauce for it. The vegetable for one person was missing and had to be made and delivered late. My husband puts him on his plate, took one bite and actually took it off his plate and put them back in the dish they came to us in. Brussels sprouts had a decent flavor but again overcooked and not hot coming to our table. Have you ever had a chewy brussels sprout? My boyfriend took me here for my birthday today. I can't remember our waiter name but he was nice very attentive his service was amazing. Our family was celebrating the wedding of our oldest grandson, and we had the luck and pleasure to be waited on by your server Onas. Onas is the employee that every restaurant owner wishes he had. Onas was attentive and recognized the importance that this dinner meant to our grandson and his new bride. Onas was able to make this night a special event for all of those in our party. It's been about ten years since I've dined here. Meals come with warm bread and pesto/ olive oil. I ordered the walleye special, which came with two signature sides. I chose the mashed potatoes and broccoli. The fish was okay but there were bones. The broccoli was overcooked and mushy. The potatoes were okay too. For dessert, I ordered the key lime cake with coconut. I wanted a latte but their machine was broken! The cake has a very light lime taste to it. First visit to Bonefish Grill was an ultimate success! the food was flavorful, hot and quick to the table. the menu was digestible once you scan it over, and the ambiance was friendly but chic. We ordered the Fish & Chips, the Bonefish signature pasta, and the Swordfish with pumpkin ravioli. Cocktails and wine were also deeeeeelicious. the service is what really did it for us though, Ella was an incredible server! she had perfect recommendations, was very familiar with the menu, and made us feel like beloved regulars. she knew exactly what we wanted, and when. she also had the best attitude, despite it being towards the end of dinner service. we will 100% be returning! p.s. We walked out. Were on our way home from Detroit and stopped here for dinner. The hostess seemed to be fumbling trying to figure out how to seat the one person ahead of us (he just wanted to sit in the bar), then fumbled as much finding us a table on her seating chart. She had to walk from the hostess stand to a big roll of white paper at the front center of the place and tear off a sheet of paper to put on each tabletop before she seated anyone. She walked us to a booth, her sheet of paper trailing behind her like a backward spinnaker sail. One of the booth seats had salt/pepper/whatever shakers on it. She didn't notice, apparently, so we picked them up and moved them to sit down. We waited for someone to come to the table. We watched server after server walk past, looking like they were deliberately avoiding eye contact with us. More servers breezed past, looking bored in this restaurant that only had maybe 3 tables seated in the entire place. And we kept waiting. And waiting. Finally I said to my husband, "Let's go." As we approached the door to leave, the hostess called out, "Didn't anyone come over?!" I said, "No," and kept walking. The hostess was calling out in a sort of pleading tone, "Let me get a manager! Let us make it right!" -- too late. We drove across the parking lot to the Brentwood Grille - SO glad we did! Exceptional service, amazing food, all around excellent experience THERE. read more

I did an online order from this restaurant. The food was pretty good, although my steak was slightly undercooked (medium rare versus medium). I liked the bread. The biggest issue I have is their "curbside" services. Bonefish Grill is under the same corporate management as Outback. Part of their online ordering process is pretty much identical in that you are required to provide details about your vehicle in order to finalize your online order. The local Outback has excellent curbside delivery services. Given that I had provided all of my car details, I assumed that my Bonefish Grill order pickup would be a similar experience to Outback. It was not. I don't think this Bonefish Grill has any curbside delivery parking spaces. You can't park directly in front of the restaurant because all of the spaces are typically filled (the restaurant is in the middle of a busy strip mall) and the restaurant entrance is at the top of a busy T-intersection. My order confirmation receipt said my order would be "Curbside at Bonefish". When I arrived, I saw a sign near an exterior door that said "Curbside-Pickup". I went into the restaurant twice to inquire with staff (who were busy seating people showing up for a sit down meal) about the status of my takeout meal. When I got home I saw that the website says this location offers "Curbside Catch" services. At the very least, a mix of terms like "Curbside at Bonefish", "Curbside-Pickup" and "Curbside Catch" sends a confusing message about exactly what "curbside" means. It was frustrating to pay up for actual curbside services on an expensive meal and not get that level of service. read more

This is a very nice place in the heart of Novi. It's two minutes from the mall and shopping area. A bit difficult to find. Just look for Walmart and it's just SW of the store. Service was perfect. Appetizers were all excellent. Calamari was perfect. As was the bread baskets. We were a party of six. Everyone was pleased. Everyone's meals were perfect. Kudos to chef. This is a well run location. Updating my review based on my last two visits - down from four stars to two stars. My issues: - I understand that menus are smaller cuz of reduced staff but not thrilled with the current menu. So many items are heavy on dairy. Not only is dairy and seafood an odd combination but also I can't eat dairy...so my options are even more limited than normal. - the music is loud here. I am hard of hearing and there are no tables that is not near a speaker. Hubby ordered the beef and ginger potstickers and those where very flavorful and colorful. Definitely would order those again. I ordered the scallop and shrimp linguine. It had way too much paprika on it. And while the description did not list cheese, it appeared to have some crumbled white cheese on it. Sigh. read more

One thing is for sure, I'm glad we made reservations for our Friday night dinner. There was a long line but with reservations, we were seated fairly quickly. We started off with white sangria. It was ok. I felt like the drink had "pockets" of sweetness. By that I mean, some sips were sweet while others were not. Stir it up first. As an appetizer, we ordered the saucy shrimp. This was a very different dish. We really didn't know what to make of all the mixed flavors. The tomato gave it a sweetness, the olives brought the salty. The feta brought a completely different element. I enjoyed it. For my meal I had scallops & shrimp with chimichurri sauce. The mashed potatoes were great. The bacon Mac and cheese was cold. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. They gave us complimentary ice cream and a cookie (which I LOVED). The cookie was delicious and it was the perfect amount of ice cream for us to share.
