    Crispy Pork Belly
    Gaston N.

I was pretty impressed! I came in on an early afternoon for a drink and a couple of dishes. Everything was plated nicely and tasted just as good as it looked including the crispy pork belly and a beef and mashed potato dish that I think may have been a special. Seems like they have a chef that cares! I think they had some tasty bread as well! I also had a whiskey sour, the cocktails aren't necessarily of the "craft" variety but I did enjoy it. If you live in the area I'd check it out.

The interior looks similar to its predecessor. Think it was Steve and Rocky's before. Closed less than two years ago. Seated at a booth. Eileen is waiting on us. Ordered a tasting of 3 soups, Brentwood Caesar, house salad, pimento cheese dip, calamari, Brentwood burger with add on truffle fries, jumbo scallops. $102.03 We are hungry, clearly from our order. The apps were out in a flash, maybe too quick? It was out in about 5 minutes or so. The calamari rings are crispy, not bad. Has good kick to it too. It's nice and light. The pimento dip is good, some heat to it as well. Not loving the pimento cheese ball on top of the lettuce leaves, ends up stuck onto the cheese for consumption. Elaine was nice and found us a flat of cream cheese to eat with their herbed bread. Bread is a vehicle for cream cheese, no? The squash soup and the mushroom soups are scalding hot. The mushroom soup is good. The squash soup is quite sweet, too sweet for me. The Italian sausage and kale soup wasn't my jam. The truffle fries are decent. The Caesar dressings tastes off to me. The salad itself looks quite sad and lack luster as far as presentation goes. The bison burger was towering and packed full, had to remove the lettuce and tomato to eat it up. My husband enjoyed it, bison is too gamey for me. The house salad was so-so, dressing was too sweet to me. The jumbo scallops are sized from a quarter to silver dollar size. Overcooked for sure, tastes a bit rubbery. The raisin compote wasn't my thing. Mushroom and cauliflower were both good, the main feature and the rest was disappointing. Eileen is pleasant and attentive and friendly. Service is where they excel.

I grew up enjoying "Happy Hour" with my Grandparents. I guess, I never put 2 and 2 together until, last Thursday. I met Betsy for a girls night. We rolled into Brentwood, and shared the happy hour appetizers. Grilled artichokes and prosciutto, red pepper, and some pickled? I have never seen but loved. We had the steak tips and mushrooms over mashed potatoes with gravy. OMG! Our server Denise, who was AWESOME!! Almost, lost her arm when she went to take the plate away and there was still some left. The pork belly with a sweet jalapeño corn relish and pickled onions was off the chart delicious. I had a few concerns about the pimento cheese and homemade chips. I think pimento cheese should be in a tea sandwich (no crusts), on celery or with crackers. Our server Denise, was 100% on point. Funny, unobtrusive, aware and really let us enjoy being there. The perfect meal before seeing the 35th anniversary of Steel Magnolias. As it was around, 4 pm it was half off apps and drinks! What a great Happy Hour

When I arrived to the restaurant, although the exterior didn't look like much, I was very impressed with how large the interior is. The internal layout has a separate bar from the main formal dining area. I would definitely consider dining in next time. I placed on order online for takeout. The host was also super friendly and went to check on my online order and brought it out shortly after. I ordered the Marcona Almond Crusted Lamb Chops, which was phenomenal. The lamb chops were seasoned well, tender, very savory. Overall Incredible! The dish was accompanied by fingerling potatoes and green beans, which were also delicious. Highly recommend.

This was formerly Steve & Rocky's. The menu was familiar. Service was very good. Lunch time and moderately busy. They made the interior muted tones. My wife had a cup of squash soup. I had their mushroom soup. I had the sautéed perch and my wife had the tenderloin tips with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were delicious.

This restaurant hits the trifecta! With it being increasingly more difficult to afford a nice dinner out, I recommend you spend your money here for a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the menu is beautifully done with unique, but familiar choices. Eileen, our waitress added a professional and fun touch with her wit and recommendations. I ordered the Marcona almond crusted lamb chops - delicious! She accommodated my 94-year old mother who requires a low sodium diet, and checked with the chef to customize a meal to her needs while making it delicious and appealing. It was pure joy to eat here. We will be back and will recommend to family and friends!

The service was great. The food was delicious. Steaks cooked perfectly and the chicken cordon blue was crisp and tender.

I'm glad the menu hadn't changed here, there's the dishes that we've always gotten when it was name, Steve & Rocky. I know that most the people were the same and really just the name changed, but I ordered my usual dish which is the scallops and pasta. Unfortunately, it was incredibly salty, I've ordered this dish for a number of years and never had problems with it but this time it was very challenging to consume. I didn't end up sending it back, but also couldn't finish it either. I hope it was just a fluke and everything else in the future ends up to be good. I will say I'm not crazy about the name, when you add something like grill after a restaurant, it just makes it sound more casual than they are trying to seem like on the inside the name distantly doesn't match the ambience. The service was fine. The waiter was pleasant and helpful.

Why haven't I tried here sooner?…read more Toasted oaks is located inside of the renaissance hotel located by 12 oaks mall parking lot. There is an entrance for just the restaurant which makes it easier to enter. There is also close parking next to it. I had no wait on a Friday evening, which I'm sure isn't common, but I was also there about1 hour 30 minute - 2 hours to closing so it could be why. I was still given great service and a wonderful cooked dish. I ordered a mocktail (virgin spring in wing) that had was supposed to have smashed strawberries. I barely tasted the strawberry (I did not have some in the drink) as the soda water overpowered everything thing else. I probably should have said something, but I didn't. If I order next time I will. There were many great things on the menu, but I opted for the bone in pork chop. While I waited I did ask if they had bread service and they have corn bread. First I was like "hmmmm idk". Once it came to the table I loved it. I usually don't butter my corn bread, but I tried their butter with it and I enjoyed the pairing. It was perfectly cooked well enough how pork should be, but still tender so it wasn't dry. It had this whiskey sweet fruity glaze over it which was delicious. I would have preferred it on the side, but that's just a personal preference. The green beans weren't soggy, they had a slight crisp to them. A great flavor. I opted out of the loaded baked potato and just got a plain with butter , sour cream and chives. Overall for what I ordered I didn't think the price to be too unreasonable. However, this place can get pricy with other things on the menu. Their menu might also change because I seen photos of this place and those items weren't on the menu. I would come here again for a dinner alone, with my spouse and even with friends.

We had started off with a mixed board charcuterie board which held an assortment of different cheeses, meats, breads, and veggies. This board was underwhelming; for $20, it felt poor quality-wise. The breads felt stale, and the vegetables were sad and tasted horrible. Putting aside the negative comments and the absolutely blazing campfire behind my seat, my service was amazing. We had Rayna Rose serve us, and she was so kind, friendly, and beautiful. She showed professionalism while providing a comforting tone and attitude to the total environment. While observing her with other tables, I saw that she not only treated everyone with the same kindness and respect but really put her best effort into her work and service. After around 30 minutes of waiting, our entrées came out. I ordered their signature Oak burger, and my sister ordered the sirloin entrée. My burger came out with soggy buns, stale fries that weren't crispy, and ketchup that was average. My sister's sirloin was bland, dry, and the balsamic glaze made the overall dish sour, and not in a good way. We were able to finish the soggy burger as a team, but the sirloin was unbearable. Overall, I give this place a 5/10.

We also ordered the smothered chicken with the cream gravy. It was loaded with beefy mushrooms, sautéed onions over grilled chicken. Very satisfying. The cactus blossom was surprisingly good with a very light crunch and not greasy. We had to try the rattlesnake bites. Nice spice and creamy with little jalapeños inside. On this day, they were a bit salty and the salt really competed and overtook the taste. Overall, this meal and the whole experience was very pleasant. We will certainly return because the prices are also reasonable and that is helpful when they still serve up some tasty grub.

My biggest issue, though, was I ordered a mocktail (I forget the name, but it was an espresso martini made with non-alcoholic spirits) directly from the menu, exactly how it's listed in there, and was brought a regular espresso martini. I took one sip and could tell the difference. When I asked my server if it was in fact the one I ordered, she told me she rung in a regular one. They use very tacky fluorescent lit lamps instead of candles at each table which doesn't match the warm lighting throughout the rest of the establishment. This took some getting used to but was not a huge issue. I started with a glass of wine and shrimp cocktail. The large shrimp were about as fresh as you can expect in Michigan and quite good but the house made cocktail sauce was underwhelming and closer to ketchup than a true cocktail sauce with horseradish. I ordered a bowl of mushroom bisque next. While the mushroom bisque had a good flavor, it was overly salty and I had to ask for bread to go along with it. I also needed to drink multiple glasses of water just to finish this soup due to the salt content. My wife had the French onion soup which tasted great but the gruyere cheese was done more than heavily on top. Next I had the Caesar Salad. This had a good tasting Caesar dressing and there was a perfect amount of dressing on each bite. The croutons were excellent but was disappointed with only one and a half small pieces of anchovy on the salad since it was advertised to have it on the menu. The parmesan crisp looked nice on the side but was very stale. So far I was not very impressed, especially for the price, but the Pan-Seared Sea Bass entree completely changed my experience here. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, flaked nicely, and melted like butter in each bite while still maintaining a subtle crisp from the outside sear. The lime artichoke glaze on the sea bass was excellent and the fish paired nicely with the cilantro lime rice and wild mushroom medly. Not pictured is the giant slice of carrot cake we ordered to go that my wife and I very much enjoyed. Our waitress Leya M made the experience great and her service was exceptional, which made up for the coldness of the hostess when we arrived and the host when we left.
