I love TRH. But- Today I ordered the steak-k-bob. One bite out of the skewer was chewable. The rest got bigger with each chew and ended up on the plate in a big pile. The manager offered to replace it. Been there done that. One more that I couldn't chew wouldn't do. My wife's road kill (chop steak) was medium. She ordered medium well. I ate it and enjoyed it. The manager offered to replace it also but we didn't need food to take home. I've had over a dozen sirloin steaks there in the past year or two. All very good. The K Bob must have been made with scraps of tough meat. The service is always excellent. I nearly always tell the management that it's not necessary to ask about the quality as it's always top shelf. I'm disappointed to be leaving this review. We'll go back but will discriminate carefully. read more

Came here for dinner today with the family. We always have to eat here once when we are in town. The app allowed us to get on the waitlist to minimize wait time. By the time we got there our table was ready. The steaks were nice and juicy for a chain steak house. I had a bone in ribeye and it was cooked perfect and all so juicy. Don't forget about the rolls. Pillowy goodness! Everybody enjoyed their meal and the service was great. I forgot his name but he did a wonderful job on his 3rd day of working there. Texas Roadhouse is consistently good service, great flavor and the rolls are over the top!

We have usually had good service here except for today. Our waitresses name was Wallace and she was the most incompetent waitress we have experienced here. A manager came by and asked how everything was, my husband told her that the waitress NEVER asked if he wanted mushrooms and onions on top of his meat. The managers reaction was literally "oh well". Then my husband was needing a refill on his iced tea. The waitress looked at our drinks and walked off several times, even after trying to get her attention. Then my husband started choking and needed a refill fast. The waitress refilled other customers waters and drinks and literally left us hanging. We FINALLY managed to get her attention, she brought him a drink and never brought my refill and had ignored us the entire time. We asked each other what we had done wrong to get such abysmal service. Our food was heavily charred. We scraped off what we could and ate what we could. When we tried to take the survey, we couldn't leave our experience. For the price paid, it was a very lackluster experience. Management really needs to address their customer service and the cook on meats. read more

I just moved to Wichita and have been eating out for the last 3 months. While the food is excellent and fast here the front host station has been getting worse. Today was the final straw. Standing at the host station they took 8 groups before me. The 9th person said this gentleman has been here longer than all of us. Then with an attitude they seated me. I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but if I HAVE to go to one, Texas Roadhouse is my first choice. They are pretty consistent no matter where you go, and this one was no different. I am always amazed at how busy they are, I usually prepare for a wait, but somehow, the 4 of us got seated in less than 15 minutes. I only order steak here, but on this occasion, my dining mates ordered Chicken Fried Steak, and others ordered the ribs, both were happy with their meals. I had a nice Kansas City Strip and I was pleased, the quality was great and would've cost double at any other high-end steak house. I've consistently experienced great service at all TRs, but tonight was exceptional. Waiter Marc was completely open about being somewhat unfamiliar with martinis. He made excellent suggestions including an "off menu" 16 ounce filet Mignon that was sublime. The manager came by and introduced himself, asked how Marc was taking care of me said to let him know if I needed anything. You know how many times that happens? I've had a few meals out. I'd say less than 1% of the time has a manger or chef come out and checked in. Except at Skip's Kitchen. Skip ALWAYS makes the rounds. The bacon in the green beans reminds me of my mom's cooking and the loaded mashed potatoes are delectable. Marc checked in regularly and delivered everything I requested. I'm passing through town and happened to be lucky enough to stay at the SpringHill Suites right around the corner from the Wichita airport. I walked next door to the Texas Roadhouse for a bite to eat. I sat at the bar between a few locals and had a different time making up my mind what to order but I got the Rib Eye Steak with a sweet potato and green beans. The steak was thick, juicy and simply delicious and melted in my mouth. They didn't have any stouts or porters on tap but Ashley the bartender was able to poor me a couple ice cold Shiner Bocks . Absolutely perfect with my dinner. Beware they serve you such large portions you better hit the gym if you plan on cleaning your plate or you play on the line of the Chiefs. This place is delicious, the people are super friendly. It sounds crazy but I can consider moving to Kansas from California when I know I'd be eating like a king all the time if I lived here in Wichita. BTW if your reading this, stop and just go. She asked if we wanted any appetizers and we picked fried pickles, and requested more rolls. When it is your birthday, they turn attention on you!! Very amazing. Had an early Mother's Day dinner here on Friday 5/10/24. All I have to say is wow, put this place on the news! We had an 18-year-old kid as our waiter named Jaden and he was EXCEPTIONAL! Likely one of the best waiters we've ever encountered. After dining, our family made it a point to tell the manager on duty how good he was, and she said it was his first day as a server!! Amazing! Let me get my biggest complaint about Texas Roadhouse out of the way. It's always SO loud. With all the hard surfaces, the voices and noise just bounce around and make it almost impossible to carry on a conversation at your table. The food is consistently excellent. I've tried various items on the menu and have never been let down. The portions are generous, often providing enough for leftovers. Whether you choose ribs, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, or any other dish, you're sure to be satisfied with your order. My wife and I have always enjoyed the fried pickles, but we're considering a change. Recently, they've been excessively salty. Therefore, we're on the lookout for a new appetizer, which I'm confident we'll find without any trouble. It would be great to have buckets at the tables for peanut shells. It's difficult to enjoy them when you're left with no choice but to stack them on the table. read more
