Sesame Seed Hoagie Roll for bread service
    Chelsea M.

Adorable space wasted on frozen food, soggy salads, sesame seed hoagie-roll bread, and service that felt personally offended by our presence. I came in wanting to love this place. I would've accepted "meh." What I got was a culinary crime scene. The building is cute. Very mom-and-pop Italian energy, which makes it extra tragic that the food tastes like it fell off a Sysco truck and was reheated sometime last week. Sunday night, prime dinner hour, a dining room full of open tables, and the food still took at least double the amount of time that it shoukd have, to arrive. Add to that a huge menu (always suspicious), and the outcome was inevitable. Spoiler: it was bad. Like, aggressively bad. Every dish was practically floating in water, as if it had been frozen, thawed, and then dumped straight onto a plate without so much as a courtesy drain. Honestly, the kitchen could benefit from a good sieve. The salad was soaked in watery dressing to the point of being completely inedible. And the bread? A warmed-up sesame seed hoagie bun. That's it. That's the bread service. The restroom deserves its own warning label. Not "needs attention," but "is there a plumbing situation or has this smell been living here rent-free for years?" bad. My drink was empty before the food arrived and I was never offered a refill. The girl behind the bar gave off massive hangover vibes... bentover with forehead on the bar, low energy, and a general sense of please don't make me do this today. We couldn't eat the food at all, so I politely asked to speak with a manager to figure out the bill. Enter: server with peak mean-girl energy. She refused to get a manager, kinda walked off, came back and said she'd "just charge me for my soda" complete with a dramatic eye roll. Cool. Except the bill was $8. For one glass of soda. I didn't mind paying something for wasted product, but don't say you're "only charging for a soda" and then charge more than double what a soda costs. I planned on tipping for the full meal because bad food isn't automatically the server's fault. The attitude made that decision... significantly less compelling. In short: adorable building, massive potential, but terrible food, questionable hygiene, and service that actively made the experience worse. I wanted to love it. I couldn't even like it.

Bongiovanni's, an East County essential from my childhood! Good ol' classic American Italian food. Excellent antipasto, delicious garlic bread, super yummy pasta and pizza. Good service, good happy hour specials, and an old school, laid back vibe!

Pizza was great. Reheat in air fryer was so good. Meatballs were good. My only complaint is they put dressing on the salad. It was a waste completely soaked couldn't eat just threw away. So always ask for dressing on the side. I'm not sure why they don't do this for to go orders.

Service was ok. The ambiance decent. I had seen this place since I was young and was always wanting to try it. Many years later and I'm very disappointed! Pizza looked amazing coming out but it looked better than it tasted. I think mushrooms were out of a can, I asked for extra pepperoni and couldn't taste it. The sauce lacked flavor and salt. The dough was cooked fairly good. We order some fried zucchini and it was very good. The Caesar salad was very good as well but the croutons tasted old. Maybe the other dishes taste good but I was not too thrilled about the experience.

    Main restaurant

Food was super good ordered simple pep pizza and drank beers. Was a Saturday and surprisingly it was very empty. Had the whole restaurant to ourselves. View is beautiful. Service was excellent, staff was very friendly. Pizza probably on my top 5 list of pizzas. Will be back again.

I always pass this restaurant but never stopped in. The pizza is amazing and I love how thin the crust is. My husband is a sucker from meatballs and tortellini and they did not disappoint.

The lasagna has no baked cheese on it. They raised their prices quite a bit, and still have the cheapest silverware.

At first glance, it appeared I didn't get double pepperoni but after eating a piece or two there was some meat presumably pepperoni underneath all the cheese. I wasn't sure because it was bland like salami, definitely not spicy like you'd expect pepperoni to be and it definitely wasn't the small round pieces that were on top. What I'm saying is the pizza was bland I even had to add some salt to give it flavor. Very little flavor came from the pepperoni. This sucked because that's exactly why I ordered DOUBLE pepperoni. The other issue I had was they mixed the mushrooms in with the cheese rather than on top. As a result, the moisture from the shrooms made the pizza soggy. If they put the shrooms on top it would've been a different story The staff were nice but not very attentive. Those who walked past me assumed someone else helped me when in fact nobody was helping me so I basically got ignored. Someone finally asked if I've been helped and took my order. After waiting for 30 minutes my pizza was done and put out under the warmer as I stood there. There was nobody around and it literally took over 5 minutes or so for someone to walk by and I stopped them to ask if I can have my pizza, right there, on the pick up counter. He tried to find someone and that someone finally came out and gave me my food. The place was clean and nice looking overall. Plenty of indoor seating plus patio seating. The night I came there was a concert going on in the park right next to the place which made parking next to impossible so keep that in mind. YMMV. To close, I'm still looking for a place to call my home for pizza. Maybe I should be trying dedicated pizza joints rather than at Italian restaurants

So, this was our first time paddlin' in, and the place was packed with people--always a good sign, right? But, bro, the food? It didn't quite catch the wave for me. I went for the lasagna, and man, the portion was smaller than I hoped for. My wife went with the chicken Parmesan, but the chicken was kinda chewy, like it got tossed around in the surf a bit too long. And the bread? A little dry, like it needed a splash of ocean water to bring it back to life. First impression? Just average, my friends. I was really hoping for an epic Italian feast, but it felt more like a small ripple than a big wave. I'll give it a three for the vibe and the crowd, but the chow just didn't hang ten for us. Catch you on the next wave! Captain 619

Opening the door we were greeted with the old school charm of a restaurant that has been around for over 50 years. Our server was delightful and very fast. In fact the entire staff had a warm energetic family feel. And, happily we beat the rush giving us the ability to hear each other and take our time enjoying the meal. Dad and I started with the chicken tortellini soup which was a little too salty for us. Tortellini was slightly overcooked making it flowery and missing meat or cheese. Mom's house salad was ok. She did comment on being disappointed in the oil served with it. Our appetizer was shrimp scampi. This was good, full of flavor. Shrimp was slightly overcooked giving it a semi rubbery edge. On to the entrees. They were huge! I had lasagna. I think when you see it delivered in a sea of sauce you need to be a bit wary. The sauce was spicy, as it should be. Noodles were thick and prominent . Sadly that left little to no room for my favorite part - cheese and meat which were limited. Dad gave the manicotti a try which was ok. Mom had eggplant parmesan, one of her favs. Her sauce was a little bit tart. Eggplant was a nice moist and tender slice with just the right amount of cheese. She loved how the strands of spaghetti wrapped around her fork so she could dip it into the sauce without a spoon. Yup, she really liked the Pasta. Overall she felt it was a nice Italian meal. Very popular spot as it filled up before 6pm and a party of 30 was expected! You can see it's a neighborhood

The Best Pizza in Town! Impeccable Service & Authentic Flavor…read moreIf you are craving pizza, do yourself a favor and head straight to Italia Pizza. This place is a masterclass in how a neighborhood spot should be run. The Food The food here is absolutely stellar. You can tell they don't cut corners--from the perfectly crisp crust to the high-quality toppings and rich, flavorful sauce. It's the kind of meal where you're already planning your next visit before you've even finished your first slice. Everything was fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection. The Service What really blew me away, though, was the service. It was truly impeccable. From the moment we walked in, the owner made us feel like a VIP. He was: Attentive: Checked in at just the right times. Fast: Our order came out quickly without feeling rushed, with it all being cooked to order. Friendly: Genuine smiles and a welcoming attitude that you just don't find everywhere. The Verdict It is rare to find a spot that hits the "trifecta" of amazing food, fair pricing, and world-class service, but Italia Pizza nails it. Whether you're grabbing a quick slice or sitting down for a full meal, you won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be a regular here! Highly, highly recommended.
