We're on the lookout for homemade chilaquiles, so we decided to come here. Big mistake. The chilaquiles taste like canned tomato sauce. Not even worthy of a picture. So the hunt continues... To drink we ordered an horchata and Michelada. The horchata was cold, milky and sweet. The Michelada? Was lacking in many ways. The Michelada mix was missing and there was waaaaaayyyyy too much foam in the mug. The waitresses need to learn how to pour a beer. It's not that difficult. After dropping our daughter off at prom down the street we were in the mood for some good Mexican food and found this place on yelp. The service was great! We were seated right away and our waiter was very fast and helpful. We got our drinks right away and two kinds of delicious salsa and warm, crispy chips. My chili verde was delicious. The pork was simmered in a tasty sauce and was falling apart. I got some warm corn tortillas with it and I was very happy. The rice was ok, tasted good but a little dry. But the refried beans is where the needle scratched the record. First, they looked creamy and almost white and were not good at all. Absolutely no taste or flavor whatsoever. This was our first visit here so I don't know if this how the beans are always cooked but it was surprising that they were so terrible when everything else was so good. Honestly for this place to be "Re-Opened" I would have expected it to be off the roof! I remember coming before it burnt down and it was okay, but as I sit here and wait 25 minutes to be taken a drink order I'm just furious. The people who I'm assuming have been here for a long time keep on trying to get the attention of the waitress and she just seems to ignore. I see 3 ladies working the shift and none of them seem to be having a good day. Maybe because it busy but as a business you need to be prepared for that. I can't imagine how much my food is going to take evadir I only see 2 people in the kitchen. Also the ambiance is so weird, they have the television playing like a rewind of the ESPN college extra; on loud of course! I asked my waitress to turn off the volume but nothing. Great food!! The ceviche is fresh and delicious. I tried the mixta ceviche, it had octopus, shrimp & crab and was very meaty. Then I have the Botana Presidente Shrimp and Marlin Taco. I've never had swordfish before now, where have you been all my life! I love seafood so I'm definitely making this a regular favorite! Atmosphere was authentic with good music. The owner TJ came up to my table and really seamed to care about us having a great experience. My son ordered mixed fajitas, chicken breast was so juicy and shrimp was was also perfect. This is are regular place to go for great service and food. My husband and me ordered the Molcajete which was great and also delicious. It came with steak, Chicken, pork rib, nopal, cheese, chorizo grilled green onions. All came on top of freshly made salsa. The lady that helped us was quick and nice and served us our complimentary chips and salsa and drinks right away. The chips and salsas were delicious. Fresh, crispy and perfectly salted. The salsa was spicy and seasoned and blended to perfection! You can always tell a good Mexican restaurant by the beans and rice, well Sinaloa's beans and rice are some of the best I've had. So so good! My friend and I shared the wealth from each other's piping hot plate of beans and rice and we were so happy we did. My flautas were delicious covered in lettuce and crema. My friends quesadilla was also very good. I didn't taste the steak but they used a very thick tortilla almost like a gordita, omg so good! I also have to mention the coffee, amazing! It had a taste of cinnamon and tasted like my grandma used to make it. The entire meal was scrumptious and made me feel like I was eating at someone's home. Only think I had there that wasn't too good was the burrito mojado and French fries which tasted undercooked or old. It has a nice kick but if it's too much for you ask for limes and lemon to tone it down or a little sugar. The chips are fresh and crisp. My husband and I had multiple servings of chips and salsa with no hesitation on the staffs part. Great customer service. The employees here are kind and warm. Some restaurants kind of treat other patrons differently if they're not Latino or what have you. Here, not the case. Incredibly inviting and quite respectful. The service is slow, nothing worth raving about but one shouldn't expect stellar service from what some would consider a hole in the wall restaurant. The food is delicious! I went two times with my wife and we both loved it. I tried the steak fajitas...spicey! But i enjoy spicey food. I also tried the ceviche which was really good as well. My wife had the chile verde, also spicy but not as much as the fajitas. Where they did fall flat on there face was with a caldo de res. The only reason why I got it was because the server came out after she served everyone and then told me they didn't have the albondigas I ordered. It was salty and lacked flavor through out.
