I decided to call some bakeries in Fallbrook and Temecula for a birthday cake, but they were all too busy with wedding cakes. My sister-in-law then said she would just get one from the grocery store. Well, I knew that that would not fly with my niece, especially for her 50th birthday! I am so happy that I found Savvy Macs in Fallbrook. It was easy to pre-order, and convenient for me to pick up on our way. My niece was floored by the beauty of her 50th birthday macaron sampler! I don't know how many pictures she took of it, from every angle! She just loved it, and the flavors they picked based on color were just delightful! My favorite however, was the pistachio. We ended up going to a fall festival in Fallbrook, and stumbled across a booth for Savvy Macs, so my niece was able to thank them for the beautiful macaron ensemble. The flavors were custom and the perfect sweetness ratio. The outside of the cookie was crunchy, and the inside was so soft and chewy. The outside was perfectly crisp. Amazing! Savvy Macs offers seasonal flavors too, which is perfect for the holidays. Also, there's an option for custom macarons. We designed custom macarons for our wedding. The amazingly talented owner set up the 9-tier tower on our wedding day (small charge). The display was stunning. It was everything I imagined and then some, perfection! The macrons were our guests favorite dessert from the dessert table. The lemon, vanilla bean, and salted caramel were enjoyed by all. Also, they are gluten-free so that made them even better. Needless to say, there weren't any left, all 150 or so gone. Macarons are best enjoyed within 3-5 days at room temperature or 5-7 days in the fridge. You can also freeze macarons, but for us, we never have any left. They are always the hit at a party. Flavors and pricing vary, but they are reasonably priced. The ingredients, time, and overall process alone...labor of love. Savvy Macs is the place for sweet macarons. I can't wait to order a cake too, they look delicious.
