Go early for a variety of pastries the stock slims down in the later mornings. In a smaller shopping center and tends to get busy but very fast at getting customers in and out. Well First I was on a Donut Craving Run and I happen to be in Escondido and looking at the reviews I had to try this Donut shop out . Let me tell you I got there and Parking is no problem and I walk in and was greeted and I look at all there delicious Donuts they have here and decided on half a Dozen . So I got the usual donuts such as the maple donut and Sugar Donuts plus others . So my impression was wow these donuts were quite good . It Costs 10 dollars for half a dozen and I felt it was worth it . They tasted fresh and it hit the spot . I also got the Apple Fritter Donut which was good also . There is tables inside for you to sit and enjoy these delicious Donuts . As for Service it was good the worker behind the counter was nice and help us with our order . Overall I enjoyed it and if I happen to be in Escondido I shall Return . One more thing they do charge 65 Cents to use your Credit Card . read more

I saw a previous comment on how there was nothing in the case? You have to be there when they first open or there is nothing good left. I come right at 5:00 am to get my dozen or I have slim Pickens. This is a family from Vietnam but they taken the time to learn Spanish for their community I think that's pretty awesome. The service is always friendly and donuts are great! If you want a huge jalapeño cheese and ham croissant this also the place. All the construction guy swing by on their way to work that's why it important to get there right at 5am. They have a little area where some of the folks meet every morning for coffee and donuts. They don't have extra fancy stuff just really good stuff so come me by for a good donut you won't be disappointed read more

This is a cool little family-owned donut shop, not too far from the start of the 78. I used to stop here on my way to chemo, to get myself a treat before I didn't feel like eating for the day. They are known for making giant straight croissants, almost like a Pillsbury crescent on steroids. That isn't what brings me here, but it is close: a butterfly pastry. Made out of croissant layers, it's a rolled strip that is topped with sugar. It's a giant fresh-baked palmier cookie, with the outside being crunchy and the inner layers a little softer. And it's damn good. Go early, because I've never seen more than 2, and that's if you're lucky. People like me buy both of them, LOL. They have other donuts, and I'm sure they're good. But I'm here for the thing that I've never seen at another donut shop. Just sayin. read more

Stopped in this morning at around 9ish In the morning. Wasn't too much of a donut selection left, which is why i left the 4 stars, but what I did get is very tasty. The bread of the donut itself is very moist and not dry at all. I picked out a mixed half dozen with card payment. Comes out to $6.90. I chose two maple bars (currently eating a maple bar), an old fashioned glazed, a chocolate glazed, a cinnamon crumble, and a sugar donut. The quality and thickness/flavor of the maple on the bar is so good! Not just a little flimsy layer! The store was clean (counters, floors, displays). The lady who attended me at the counter was very polite and made some polite banter with me. I did see the massive croissants but didn't get any. The only other small options in Escondido that are still open (like YumYums) aren't very good in my opinion in both service and donut quality. My go-to place when I bring donuts to work. Fast friendly service and their donuts do not have that greasy aftertaste of some Donuts shops. Also enjoy the ham and cheese croissants for a quick breakfast on the run. I've been there enough for them to know me and they don't offer me the jalapeño croissants which is their best seller. Just grabbed a dozen donuts...first time here and staff are friendly! The shop is practicing the entire social distancing and masks are worn. Tongs were used which was a plus...since another donut shop i went to last week used gloves and then proceeded to take my payment with it as well. This place has been around for a long time and is one of Escondido's best kept secrets! I discovered it when I used to live close by. The best croissants I've ever had to date! I even had a French friend I had try them because he kept saying that America had no good croissants and he said they are the closest to an authentic croissant he's ever had here and loves them! And the owners are not even French! They make great breakfast croissant sandwiches that are delicious too. Their donuts are delicious too although not a huge variety because their croissants are their star item. The croissants are $1.25 each and their donuts are reasonable too! My only complaints are their hours, it's a family run business so they open and close early and unless I'm up early enough or on that side of town I miss them, and that they charge $0.65 to use a card. read more

I thought the donuts here were just ok. I came at 9:30 AM on Thursday after 4th of July. The selection wasn't great. A lot of bars and a few other options. No buttermilk, no crullers, which is what I was hoping for that day. It's possible I came after a morning rush and they ran out. The filled donuts are strange because they aren't actually filled. A raised donut is cut in half and the filling is spread sandwich style. I have to say that the filling in the Boston Cream was very tasty. But otherwise these donuts were nothing special. I ordered 6 and they were all jammed into one small paper bag. They have the right sized boxes so I'm not sure why I was given a bag. The staff are nice, service was quick and the shop was clean so that's a plus. I might come back to try their croissants, which do look yummy as other reviewers have said; but there are better donuts in escondido. read more

Size of donut Criteria 3 and 8 contained three possible ranks; all others, two ranks, for possible total of 10 points. We gave Donut World 8 points. At Donut World the donuts were fresh, quite large and fragrant, and the dough was sightly crispy outside and light and airy inside. They were plump with adequate filling, and the taste and texture of the custard was very good. Where they lost points was the icing, which was rather skimpy and lacked a rich and chocolately taste. With a thicker, richer icing, they would give Savoy and Marte's a run for the money. read more

I finally found this place after discovering that Peterson's donuts was closed for the day. I stopped by Mart's donuts before coming here, but I didn't like that there were flies buzzing around inside of their donut shield, so I ended up here. I was pleased that the shop was clean and even though they had ran out of Boston Creme donuts, the employee went to the back and made one for me. That's A+ service in my book.
