The quintessential 3.5 star establishment. Nothing fancy, not really super good or bad, just a solid family run business with what'd you expect from a local donut shop in a somewhat sketchy plaza. I usually order a couple ham and cheese croissants and a maple bar. The croissants are pretty standard. I wish they would sell a cheese croissant as the ham often pulls out in one bite. This is not uncommon with all donut shops ham and chews croissants. The maple bar I got today had cracked icing. I don't know why. They take credit cards but when I presented mine, she pretty much insisted on cash and that left me with only $2. read more

Close to the grandkids house for a Saturday morning treat. Easy parking with a decent selection of donuts. We ordered a dozen mixed and added dozen donut holes as well. Kids enjoyed the sprinkles and jelly donuts. The donut holes disappeared quickly right before our eyes. Cost is about the same as other shops and service was great. Oceanside Donuts will be part of our rotation moving forward when we bring treats for the grandkids. Easy 4 stars. read more

I love this place and don't understand the low scores. My biggest requirement for donuts is that they be fresh and moist. Yeah, l said it, moist. A lot of people don't like that word but it cannot be emphasized enough when it comes to donuts. The very LAST thing l wanna eat is a dry and stale donut. I've been to a few donut places around this area and they've all been slightly hard and dry donuts. No thanks. Our friends happened to bring us donuts from here one day and I was blown away because they were so fresh tasting and satisfying to bite into. Like little pillows of heaven. I am super picky with my donuts and so are my kids. We all love the donuts we get from here. As far as the woman who runs the shop, she's always been super nice to me. She is a hustler. When l say that, l mean she is trying to sell her donuts. I ordered about 8 donuts and she goes, "And?" And l said one more and she says, "And?" It's comical because it reminds me of the movie "Dude Where is My Car?" When they go through the drive through and the person behind the speaker keeps saying "And then?" After every item. Hahaha. But seriously, she's trying to drum up her business. So l can find no fault in that nor do l mind it. She's always in a good positive mood every time l have been in. She complimented me on my bag and always says, "Have a nice day!" Another time l came in towards the end of the day and ordered about a dozen donuts and she asked if l wanted a cake donut. I said l wasn't really a fan of them. She gave me one for free with my order and said try it and see. I am SO glad she did. It was super moist for a cake donut. Almost as moist as a regular donut is. It made me rethink my entire life choice of not being a big cake donut fan. I would definitely order some here in the future. This donut shop is a hole in the wall but that doesn't deter me in the slightest. I don't care how nice (or not) a donut shop looks. I am not there for sitting in it to eat my donuts. I strictly buy them and take them home. That being said, it's a small place and they have TWO decent sized cases of donuts. A fact l forget each time l go because one case doesn't face the area customers walk into so you wouldn't see it unless you go farther into the establishment. They also have a case for drinks and they have a decently large selection. I went in one time and the lady ordering ahead of me was wanting something she didn't think they had. I took a quick look and saw what she was searching for. It was just behind another drink. But their selection is vast. Their store is small and they do have a lot of items so it looks a bit crammed sometimes but the place was decently clean and has an A rating on their window. So l don't have any issues with eating donuts from here. If you want a good fresh donut in the area, this is your place. Even the next day, the donuts are still fresher than any other place's day old donuts. A carb lovers paradise! read more

The correct address for this place/location is 3772 Mission Ave, Suite C. If you are visiting with friends and or relatives, we're going to suggest that you bypass on this location. A pest problem appears to be possible here but we've yet to contact the local health inspector. If not mistaking, this "business" also sports an A rating. More to come. Do not visit. This is really confusing to me. There's Oceanside Donuts and there's O'side Donuts. Two completely different concepts. O'side has yummy vegan donuts and this establishment has the run of the mill kinda okay donuts. I liked O'side Donuts better. And he uses premium ingredients. read more

The donuts aren't bad, however I would have liked to actually pick mine?? Once I said I wanted a dozen, she asked if I wanted her to pick. I said no? I can pick them. So as I'm naming them off, she's rushing me saying ok next ok next. Then all of a sudden says ok that's 12. I'm thinking in my head, I didn't feel like I named off 12 donuts, but it was kinda early so I thought ok maybe I did. I get home, there's definitely 12, but only 8 were ones that I picked and she picked the rest???? read more

This place is alright. Prices are kinda like any other donut shop. This one is tucked to the right of Stater Bros. It's probably one of the very few donut shops that are open later than 2 or 3pm. You'll find your best donut selection in the early AM & a diminished selection if you come later in the day (i'm sure everyone knows how that goes). I came & got a 2 dozen donut holes & a jelly filled donut for my husband. The guy welcomed me but was kinda rude when he spoke to me about what I wanted. I am in love. I was pretty bummed that moving away from Escondido meant no more Peterson's, but after finding this place, I'm okay with that. And they have crullers! Delicious crullers, even. I actually appreciate that they don't have quite as much frosting as Peterson's. Also, the service was fast and the women behind the counter were super nice and funny. read more

Woman behind the counter was so rude. She never had eye contact, probably refusing to look at us. After every item we ordered, she asked if that was it, pretty much rushing us. After we ordered 3 apple fritters, she told us that was a lot. Who says that to a customer? We ordered coffee and she gave us such a small cup. We asked nicely for a bigger size and she said "this happens all the time where people change their mind. I want to go home!" If you wanna home then go, nobody is holding you back! Do NOT go here! I don't think I've ever written a negative review, but this place earned it. 1 star because even though the doughnuts were tasty, though not better than any other doughnut place, that's where it ends for me. I called on a Wednesday evening, because I was planning on bringing a bunch of doughnuts to work for my students. I asked if they thought there would be enough tomorrow morning for me to pick up 5 dozen regular donuts, not cake. The lady said yes, but sounded stressed and panicky, and asked me to pay over the phone, which I did not want to do. I told her I would be there between 7:50 and 8:00 am. The next morning I came in, and as soon as I said I was the girl who called about getting 5 dozen doughnuts, she berated me for not answering my phone that morning because she had called me to see if I was coming. I explained that I was getting ready for work and didn't see a call, and she kept telling me I need to learn to answer my phone from now on, which was unwarranted, especially since I'm a new customer. She took almost every other customer that walked in before me, while my mom and I stood there waiting. There was also a man who was taking customers, and yet we still had to wait for a really long time. My mom wanted to leave, but I decided to stick around and give them a chance to redeem themselves. The lady started packing my doughnuts before I could even tell her what I wanted. I told her I was okay with every kind of doughnut as long as it wasn't cake doughnuts, just as I had said the night before over the phone, and she was very upset and then refilled my box. Service took forever, and I ended up coming late to work. The whole experience took 25 minutes, when it very well could have taken much less time. What irritated me the most was the fact that they took so many customers that came in after me before me, and that I was reprimanded for not answering my phone, especially when I was about to shell out $50- $60. I won't be coming back, and I definitely do not recommend this place. Terrible service. read more

THE BEST DONUTS HANDS DOWN. If you've had Peterson's in esco trust these are 100 times better. They aren't greasy and oily like Peterson's donuts, they are puffy , large, soft, non greasy, tasty, and just o so good!!! Been coming here for over 10 years just delicious! Never disappoint. read more

Very cute hole in the wall donut shop, I could tell that it's family run. I've read a lot of the reviews and a lot of the customers seem spoiled or expect top tier grade A, New York restaurant quality donuts. I got a coffee, glazed donut and a glazed old fashion and I'm currently in my car eating them and writing this review. I can tell you right off the bat that this is a pure example of handmade donuts, doesn't taste factory made and doesn't taste frozen. The donuts were decently sized and soft in the inside. I never put cream or sugar in my coffee and their coffee is a delicious medium roast that perfectly pairs with their sweet donuts. It's great to support small family business, and I plan on supporting this business for now on ! read more

Perfect location for a donut shop...the owners are super nice and friendly. The glazed donut is soooo good and I am not a donut person at all. The donut holes are really good too, they are 10 for $1. Despite reading reviews about this place having bad customer service, I went because it was on my way to work this morning. As soon as I stepped up to the counter, I felt rushed even tho I was the only person there. I ordered a dozen donut holes & after she bagged them, she practically threw them towards me onto the counter. After I paid, she gave me my cash folded up, so I opened it to recount. I couldn't quite understand what she was saying when she saw me counting, but she pretty much accused me of calling her a liar and to just take my money and go. I won't be coming here again when I can get better donuts and amazing customer service at the donut shop in Fallbrook. read more

Great donuts - big and fluffy, not dense like you might get elsewhere. You can't go wrong with the classic round glazed, the cinnamon rolls are a solid choice as well. The extra donut holes thrown in on occasion are a nice bonus! read more

Visited on a Friday evening. There are only 2 donut cases approximately four feet wide. One was completely empty and the other half empty. So collectively there were two shelves or about 8 types of donuts. When I told the lady I thought I was going to pass she began to pressure me saying "Common, buy something!!!" None of the 8 donuts available looked fresh and I did not enjoy high pressure donut sales. read more

This is the only donut shop that I will go to I refuse to go anywhere else. Everyone is always so friendly. The donuts are amazing! When I was on the search for a good donut shop I was very disappointed at the amount of places that sold terrible donuts. I would get this gross film after any donut I had and would feel like crap after. But not here 10/10 would recommend!! read more

Went here today because we wanted to avoid Star*ucks. Just wanted a bagel with cream cheese and an iced mocha. Yes they had the bagel but the lady really wanted us to also buy a ham n cheese croissant. No mocha so we got hot chocolate. When I took the lid off to add some milk, it broke so I put a new one on it. The lady scolded me and reminded me that she had already put a lid on it. In the car, we discovered the bagel was not toasted. Who doesn't want a toasted bagel? Or at least the option to choose. SAD! Will not return. read more

A few months ago.. I was waiting in line... and then called to be helped with my dozen donuts. I happened to also be the last in line and no one was behind me. In the middle of me selecting my dozen donuts, a regular customer comes in behind me .. and without excusing herself... the lady who was helping me (I had chosen 6 donuts by this point) starts helping the person behind me (a return customer)... and gets his coffee and lets him pay for his items. 1) I was appalled... I mean the guy acts like this is normal and doesn't tell the lady helping me 'no, it's all right.. help her first she was in line first 2) when I addressed it with the lady that it was rude she yells back at me and says I am rude... what?? So this place endorses cutting .... especially for regular customers. I decide to give them a try again 2 or 3 weeks ago since I was in the area. Who knows... maybe new management? I order my favorite donut, a French cruller. I make my purchase and go around the corner to buy stamps at the post office. I bite into it... thinking it's oddly soggy... and guess what??? The dough inside wasn't cooked through... so... yes, it was raw dough. I didn't bother going back to have it addressed, since 1) it is about a $1 loss 2) the rest of the batch is probably that way.... I've never had an undercooked French cruller before.... wowz. They deserve a 1 star... they may be worth a 3 star to a return customer as mentioned above. But to me, that was a waste of time at the first incident, and a waste of money for the second incident. read more

SKETCHY. i just wanted a sugar donut, but the lady informed me they were all from the day before. the only thing they had that was fresh were donut holes. so i got some. i think it was a dozen for $2 or something. they looked fine, but then i bit into one and it was filled with bavarian creme. i hate bavarian creme. it didn't look like anyone around the shopping center would want them so i just threw them away. read more

We usually stop in here on Saturdays or Sundays after we go shopping at Stater Bros. if we go in the AM before breakfast. They are usually pretty busy whenever we go in. Their croissants with cheese and ham or bacon is awesome. Then again just about anything with cheese and bacon is delicious. I've never had a bad experience there but then again I only get their croissants... read more

Then she got 2 other coffee orders so she stopped to make coffee. About 10 to 15 minutes after I paid for my other order she makes my dirty chai. A kid and a mom are right by the counter. The kid grabs my drink and spills it on the counter and on the floor. She sees this. It's right in front of her. She says oh no that's not yours. Then she wipes it off and tries to pass it off to me like I didn't see. I said no, you're not going to re make it? She goes no, it's not my fault he spilled it. I was like I want a refund. She goes why. I'm like the drink spilled and you didn't even offer or try to remake it. This place had really gone downhill. Service is awful. The donuts look nice but they've been sitting out and are stale. The same with crossaint I had. I would not go back here anymore. Awful experience. Drove out of my way to come here today. It's a shame. This place used to be really friendly and fresh and top of the line customer service, Management needs to rework things before they completely go downhill but it seems they are already there.
