This place knows how to do salads right. Everything on my plate was colorful and full of flavor. The ingredients were fresh and the balance of textures was spot on. The creamy dressing tied everything together. It felt like a healthy meal but still super enjoyable.

i really liked this place, it's like a family owned restaurant that's original and yeah. good vibes. the grilled chicken sandwich was really good. at first i was a bit hesitant to keep the mustard but honestly made the sandwich so so good.

    side salad

Had grilled chicken kabob with veggies and rice -- sooooo good! Also had wrapped gyro. Everything fresh and we both had side salads. Excellent service. Comfortable seating area.

We had a failure to communicate and I ended up with a very good cheesesteak omelette. I was hoping to get the cheesesteak omelette on a long roll. Nice fluffy eggs. It had a great flavor. The homefries were very tasty. I got two meals out of my cheesesteak omelette. Thank you Acme and last weekend's 12 bagels for $6 weekend.

    Chicken and beef kabob dinner

Based on word-of-mouth I have been wanting to try the dinner deluxe special. I ordered the chicken and beef kabobs. It came with a beautiful grilled garden medley of yellow and green zucchini, carrots, onions, and tomatoes, a large order of freshly made basmati rice, a tray of Greek salad, and a container of Italian bread slices. The total came to $47, a terrific value for not just the amount of food, but most importantly, the quality. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The chicken and beef were especially moist and succulent. After a long work week it was really nice to pick up this family meal which was plenty for myself and my two young adult sons, with leftovers through the weekend. I am looking forward to going back and trying other items on their menu. Highly recommended!!!!

My first time going and I'll definitely be coming back. Let me start by saying the atmosphere in there is awesome and that alone made me want to stay, I got an order to go, and I accidentally took home the chicken tacos which I can't complain about, they were so so so good, and I'll be getting them again. John helped me out and he was a total sweetheart, he let me keep the chicken tacos and drove my original order over to me even though I was just gonna come back and get them, my original order "the chicken kebab dinner" with grilled vegetables, saffron rice, and a Greek salad on the side, if you can even call it a side salad, the amount of food you get from your money is more than I could've asked, 10 out of 10 will definitely be coming again don't skip out on this place.

Food a bit bland and unremarkable. Frustrated. Asked 3 times for feta on my chicken gyro...got home...no feta.

Super tasty. Great flavors. Was able to make chicken caprese on corn tortilla to make it gluten free. Olives were fresh.

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

True to my nature as a "prior proper planner," I already had an appointment scheduled in West Chester, so I headed down to get the repairs underway. While I waited, I decided to find some local eats. A quick Google search led me to The Jockey just outside of Philadelphia. The reviews mentioned it was a family-owned joint, and the decor looked incredibly inviting. The aesthetic actually reminded me of The Polo Bar in NYC; it has that same sophisticated, equestrian charm. Personally, I love horses--I know all the horses in the world, and they know me--and I know the horses. so I was eager to check it out. My mother picked me up from the dealership, and we "galloped" our way down to the restaurant. The Food I was surprised to find the place packed at 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, but I assumed we had just hit the peak lunch rush. We started with the calamari, my mother ordered a sandwich, and I opted for the salmon with drunken noodles. Honestly, I think the chef in the back was more "drunk" than the noodles. * The Salmon: It arrived super crisp and borderline burnt. * The Calamari: Overcooked, greasy, and wet--it felt like it hadn't seen a strainer or a paper towel since leaving the fryer. * The Sauce: The marinara was watery, almost as if the back-of-house was running low and decided to stretch it with water. The Verdict The only saving grace was the aesthetic. The decor is lovely, and they have a very inviting event space in the basement. However, you can't eat the wallpaper. * Food: 2/5 (A hard pass on the kitchen's execution.) * Service: 3/5 (The staff never checked on us while we were eating.) * Location/Convenience: 4/5 (Close to everything in a great area.) I likely won't be visiting this place again. I'm genuinely surprised this is a local favorite in such an upscale area--perhaps the locals just haven't ventured out enough to know what they're missing.

We loved the decorations in the restaurant too, seeing all the local dog portraits on the wall while we were waiting for our table was enjoyable. The food was incredible. We recently moved to Exton and haven't really gotten a chance to spoil ourselves, and White Dog was a great place to do so. We started with the Mushroom Soup, Oysters, and Artisan Cheese Board. All were delicious! One of the things I loved most were the portion sizes. For the price it was only a touch expensive, but for good reason, the entrees were delicious. My girlfriend got the Salmon, I had the Seafood Bucatini, and textures were masterful. The contrast between the tenderness of the shrimp/scallops and the broccoli rabe/parmesean crisps made each bite a truly special experience. I'm going to be dreaming of how light yet flavorful the sauce was too!! The GF is telling me to stop typing but I could go on and on about this meal. Thank you!!! We will be back

I'm really not sure how they manage to find so many people who are completely indifferent to their jobs spread over such a large area. We arrived right on time for our reservation and checked in with the hostess. The place was 3/4 empty so seating should have been fast, but she ignored us, fiddling with her computer for 4 minutes before bothering to pick up menus and lead us to a table... in the bar. The waiter was nice, but he was never around when we needed him and it took 15 minutes after us being seated before he even asked us about food. At one point my daughter needed to use the restroom but we didn't know where it was. I couldn't see the waiter, so I walked up to the bar, only to have the three people there ignore us, even though one was looking right at us. Bill was over $300 for three people. 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 3 drinks, a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card, and 5 separate people who didn't seem to care about their customers. Ridiculous.

The restaurant is beautiful and still very comfortable. And the service was outstanding. They brought me a little stool for my purse, which is such a nice touch. And they were so helpful and friendly as they stopped by our table to explain each course on the night's menu. I also really enjoyed my wine, and my husband his cocktail. While the experience was lovely, I was underwhelmed by the meal unfortunately. They brought us a little starter (off menu) - a fritter with duck confit, which had good flavor but an odd texture. The first course was turnips and squid, which was okay (I didn't get the squid on the dish - it didn't have much flavor or do much for the dish). The second course was Pizzoccheri - a pasta dish made of hearty, dark buckwheat pasta with boiled potatoes, Savoy cabbage, melted cheese, and butter. It was delicious and rich and great for winter (it snowed later that night - the first of the season). I was glad they served a single portion for two people - because it is rich. But I'd eat it again for sure, my favorite dish of the night by far. The third course was a strip loin with salsify and leek cream. This dish was pretty good, too. I loved the salsify - I'd never had it before. And the jus was delicious. I didn't love the cook on the strip loin - it was medium rare on one end and over medium on the other. The dessert was a profiterole with candied quince and cherry. It was too sweet for me, and I didn't taste much of the quince or cherry. The dish I'd want to eat again is the Pizzoccheri, for sure. It was a lovely meal - the restaurant has a great ambiance and the service was wonderful. I didn't love the food on this first visit, but their menu is creative and it's very possible that on another night it would blow me away. I do love a set menu/tasting menu at this price point and with only four courses - a great value, and a great portion of food (not too much like some tasting menus). It's beautiful spot in West Chester; I'd be happy to try it again if I'm in West Chester for dinner again.
