Greek potatoes with braised short rib and an egg
    Elizabeth M.

Delicious Mother's Day Brunch which we enjoyed al fresco! Dishes were served fresh, warm and tasty! The smoked salmon lent a lovely flavor to the eggs Benedict and was topped with just right amount of fresh hollandaise sauce. The breakfast potatoes included roasted peppers and onions. A complementary accompaniment!

I've been to Opa a few times and it's always a mixed experience. This time wasn't so great but there were some highlights! All the drinks were delicious. They came out quickly and were so unique! The opa chips are always a favorite and the Pikilia Spread was something I'd get again and again! The octopus was mushy and not worth the money, the Greek salad was super oily, and the orzo that accompanied the short rib was not good at all! Mixed meal but what was really weird was that as staff and our waiter dropped plates off at the table, nothing was ever picked up. So by the end of the meal our table was FILLED. It's was odd and uncomfortable. Sad because this was a great place that I'd always recommend!

Exceeded my expectations. I wasn't sure it would be worth the hype, but it absolutely was. Fantastic Greek food. We had 3 appetizers: the halloumi cheese with tomatoes & green onions, the calamari, and the eggplant & zucchini chips with tzatziki. Everything was perfectly cooked, presented nice, hot, fresh, and delicious. The Pastitsio was so unique and like nothing I have ever had before. So amazing!!! I also had a lovely glass of Greek wine & a perfectly made gin dirty martini. Definitely give this place a chance, it's fabulous

Yooooooo this is the cutest spot I've been in a long time. We went here to celebrate my birthday and we have 13 people. The staff was attentive, happy, pleasant and attentive. The place is small but they handled it all! Drinks were on point and with proper pour. We have so many different food needs they were able to offer something from the vegan to the meatatarians. Fresh fresh food and so healthy! Just an epic time, a great place for anyone in the area. Top restaurant of all time for me.

It doesn't get any better than this!!! and the Service is the best of the best. The food is so good. I would literally eat there every day.!!

I had high hopes for Opa Taverna. Unfortunately, the service was nonchalant at best, and the food was forgettable. I waited 10 minutes just to be acknowledged by the waiter, with people who came after me got menus and ordered before me. My eventual waiter did pass me before finally acknowledging that I was there. The brunch was underwhelming. Just look at the picture. I was so disappointed. My cocktail "Zeus' something" was interesting but nothing I would order again. 2 stars for ambiance. I would have given three if my waiter even checked on me once after apologizing for the extremely long wait.

The Greek meatballs are the way to go get some bread and some of that sauce in you and go to town.

Well, the experience so far isn't that pleasant. And here again I've been to this place when it was Opa Opa the vibe in here is definitely different from when they first open. I was gonna get an entrée, but I think I'm gonna keep it late simply for how the vibe is, but that's not saying the experience is bad. It's just very early and not a good start. I'll be back after I get my first app. food is outstanding service not so good. It was busy so I can kinda understand but it just feels like they could've been a little more prompt 2 1/2 out of five.

Friendly greeting when I walked in. Perfect Manhattan while I waited for my party. Quickly seated on a busy night. We went all out with appetizers and mains. Everything was tasty. $225 for 4 adults. Only drawback, it was too loud to visit. We had sore throats from talking so loud. It's a cozy space but I'd come back on a quiet night.

Went to Opa with my fiance to celebrate his birthday and we loved our experience! The service is very fast and they do expect you to order as you sit down. While we like to course things out a little more, we do understand every restaurant does things differently! Our cocktails were incredible. I really liked the vibe of the menu we got for cocktails! We loved the brunch menu. The zucchini fritters were amazing!! A total show stopper for us! Would be interested to come back and try the dinner menu sometime soon!!

I felt like I was taking a journey exploring Santorini and Crete. The atmosphere is set to look like the Greek Islands in the decor and feel. The servers all seemed to be of Greek heritage and were friendly and attentive. We started out with the Mediterranean Flatbread. I was chalk full of veggies and Feta. The rich balsamic gave it a ton of flavor. We also shared a gyro. Everything was good. The whole area of West Chester has a ton of places to eat. You can just about get any style you are looking for.

Opa was amazing!! Some of the best Greek food I've had in a while. I loved getting to build my own chicken gyro, it was fun to customize and everything tasted super fresh. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the pita was warm and soft, Also, the fries had great seasoning on them, which always takes fries up another notch. Sitting outside on the sidewalk in downtown West Chester added to the experience. It's such a lively, charming atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

This is our go to for fish, although they have other things. We also like the opa chips and calamari. There isn't a huge amount of seating inside, but when weather permits they have a lot of seating outside. The restaurant is clean and has good service. We really like this place.

    Looks authentic. Tastes supermarket
    Jack D.

Great spot. Great setting. Friendly and personable service. And that's the best part. 10-15 minutes means 40-50. The octopus tasted fishy and wasn't prepared properly. Although it was tender. I'll give them that. The lamb and beef platter was as inauthentic as a supermarket kit with the thin rectangular pieces of meat. You know the kind. Lacking in flavor and all else that makes Greek food something special. The fish n chips were above mediocre. Compared to other Greek establishments in the area, and to other Mediterranean restaurants, Opa is a spot to hang and watch people. But falls short on food. The hype is hype. No substance. Won't be back...

I love when this happens…read more With no agenda, we ended up in West Chester PA (vs Westchester NY.) A cute town with an inordinate number of restaurants, we peered into windows and read menus. "The Mediterranean Restaurant" sparked interest. Infusing Lebanese and Italian cuisines, they garnered great reviews. Also BYOB. After running to Carlinos for a bottle of red, we took our chances at Mediterranean without a reservation. (Do indeed make one if you come for dinner.) I chatted with the couple across from us. "This is the best restaurant in West Chester," the fellow said. They live here and have been to them all. We started with what's called a Maza Platter: customer's choice of four appetizers. I selected feta & olives, tabouli, hummus and baba ghanoush. Delish!! (Unlike my husband, I wasn't a fan of feta, but this feta was infinitely better than anything I've had before.) The spreads are made inhouse. The cheese isn't. T raved about the lamb kabob, which was likely grilled. I in turn recommend their falafel encrusted chicken. Chef isn't afraid to spice things up and everything was noticeably fresh. Even the sides were stand-out. The aforementioned couple recommended Mediteranean's apple pie for dessert, a seemingly odd choice. They said it's baked in the restaurant's adjoining bakery. Since they ran out of ice cream -- what's pie if it's not a la mode?! -- T and I shared baklava. Two thumbs up. Homemade, not saturated in syrup. I'd like to give a shoutout to Jason, our delightful and efficient server. He does the restaurant proud. Note that Mediterranean has been in West Chester for 29 years. (That's a virtual lifetime in the restaurant world!) Prices we thought reasonable, and portions generous.

We arrived around 5:45pm to a fairly empty restaurant, which often gives me pause; but as the night went on, it quickly filled up. We were seated and tended to promptly. The interior is cool and inviting, with Greek artwork and upbeat music to enhance the ambiance. Our server was attentive and blunt in a fun, friendly way -- make sure you bring your sense of humor so you don't take anything personally! I had a bowl of the Chicken Avgolemono soup, though the smaller cup would've been more than enough. It was nice and hot. My husband and daughter both got Souvlaki platters but didn't want their Dolmades so I happily ate those. I also shared their fries and part of my daughter's Pork Souvlaki. The Dolmades were some of the best I've ever had and the fries were amazing. But the pork. Listen, I rarely choose pork as my protein and I was very unenthusiastic about it, but it was possibly the best pork I have eaten in my life. It was super tender and juicy and absolutely full of flavor. Together with the fresh pita, tzatziki, and cucumbers... I didn't have words. My husband enjoyed his Lamb Souvlaki, but he tried a bite of the pork and shared my sentiments. We shared a piece of Baklava for dessert, which was also delicious. It was a wonderfully satisfying meal! Restrooms were bright and clean, albeit you have to walk through their office-like area to get to them and kind of feel like you're intruding. If you are in the area and like Greek food or want to try something different, I highly recommend giving this spot a try. I would welcome the opportunity to go back!
