This restaurant was…read morerecommended by ChatGPT, but it was just okay; perhaps the town is too small, with limited options. New England Clam Chowder: Rich, flavorful, and delicate, but unfortunately a bit too salty. Mussels: A classic New England preparation, with a strong wine aroma, but the acidity wasn't prominent. A touch of tomato added umami and balanced the richness of the butter, which was quite good. However, the mussels were a bit small, slightly affecting the overall experience. Baked Local Haddock: The haddock was quite fresh, but it was overcooked even than I usually do - does that make sense? The asparagus was simply blanched and completely tasteless. Surprisingly, the best dish was the mashed potatoes. House Greens Salad: Delicious! The vegetables were very fresh, the vinaigrette's acidity was crisp and refreshing, with a slightly sweet aftertaste that balanced it out, preventing it from being too overpowering. House Fried Rice: This fried rice was absolutely awful, a contender for the worst I've ever eaten. It was both overwhelmingly sour and salty, completely inedible, and tasted like the vinaigrette in our salad. Don't ask why I ordered fried rice in a small American town; my parents wanted it... However, after complaining to the waiter, the dish was served for free, which was a pretty good outcome.

Nicely portioned, flaky piece of fish with fresh lettuce, tomato and thinly sliced onion. The fries were crisp, hot and salted perfectly. The tartar sauce was predictably if uneventful at best. The fried shrimp and fish n chips were cooked perfectly and portioned well. The ambiance was nice, decor is contemporary nautical, elegant and tasteful. As the crowd gathered, the noise level became unbearable. Couldn't hold a conversation without shouting across our tiny table. Our server was pulling double duty as bartender and handling two tables across from the bar which was unmanageable for one person. Service was slow... like really slow. 120 min for three fried entrees and one app. and we weren't in a rush but it took forever. I felt badly as they could have easily turned this table 2-3 times more than they did. Beer was cold. Ice water was aplenty. Food 7/10. Service was polite and friendly but slow as molasses. They need a full time bartender asap at least for weekend evenings when it's busier. For some added yet unexpected entertainment a rude senior was addressed by the manager for clanging his silverware on a glass for no reason other than to be rude and annoying while trying to get the attention of his server. This caused a bit of a stir because he raised his voice in disdain to being criticized for not acting appropriately. His childish tantrum was handled efficiently by the manager. She admirably suggested he leave the premises which would have been supported by the other patrons. Those present seemed to think an apology by this customer to the server for being disrespectful was in order but that didn't happen. Just an unfortunate event for an already struggling staff trying to shake things out at a newer business. The server didn't deserve this at all. I think they will be fine once all cylinders are firing.

We were helped immediately by the very attentive waitress who took our drink order right away, which exemplified the warm and friendly ambiance. For an appetizer we split the Burrata salad which was nothing short of sumptuous - fresh mozzarella, peach puree, basil, and mixed greens finished with olive oil and a savory balsamic vinaigrette glaze. Delicious. On to the entrees. My wife ordered the surf and turf. While we are unclear as to the exact cut of beef, no explanation was necessary - juicy, tender and seasoned and cooked to perfection. The surf side was grilled shrimp, seasoned to compliment the turf side and equally delectable. The surf and turf were finished with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and carrots, and garnished with onion strings. Just amazing. My entre was the miso salmon with seasoned jasmine rice along with the same grilled asparagus and carrots. The salmon was unique - the outside was perfectly seasoned with miso, and, due to some culinary magic the outer surface was an extremely thin crunchy layer which gave way to a medium rare temperature cooked to perfection, and exactly as ordered.Prepared on the premises, the deserts were on a par with the entrees and salad. We ordered a to-die-for crème brulee and a flourless chocolate cake topped with vanilla gelato. This was a great dining experience, and we will be back. BTW - we were so excited to get our food that we forgot to take pictures before we dug in!

We went back again last week and must have caught them on an "off" night: we think the usual chef was off because it was obvious the person in the kitchen didn't know what they were doing. All three of us had salad as our starters which were OK: large but were already dressed with an abundance of dressing. My companions both ordered Ruebens. The meat was tough as shoe leather. It might have been ok if the cook had used a meat slicer to cut the meat in thin slices but it was sliced in two thick chunks, making it impossible to eat. The server said that ppl were always sending it back...hmm...The server/bar tender was very nice and took those off the bill. A meatball appetizer was ordered and was very good. I had chicken wings as my second course (well done) and they were OK. My S-I-L had an order but didn't specify "well done", so hers were chewy and not so good. We were very disappointed in the food but thought the server did a great job.

It was ok but the corn was not charred at all. We then split the strawberry & burrata pizza. It was ok- but lacked a solid umami flavor. It needed more salt and pepper to be enjoyed. The worst part of the experience was that the manager (I think- he was dressed in all black & I saw the staff asking him questions) came out twice to smoke. He smoked by the railing close to Starbucks, which was about 20 feet away from us. Yet both times the cigarette smoke blew into us, which was absolutely disgusting.
