Last Friday evening, my wife and I celebrated the 50th anniversary of our first date together at Book Club Bistro. What a delightful experience, . . . perhaps our best dining experience ever . . . anywhere. The theme, access, and bookcase entrance were unique, interesting, and memorable; the feel, decor, setting, music, and ambience were delightful and upscale; the food was delicious and well-appointed (my miso salmon was very tasty); the mocktails were tasty; the mystery dessert and writing our review in one of their books were fun; and the staff were "without peer" from my experience. In particular, Kiley (our server) was professional, competent, timely, responsive, energetic, pleasant, attentive, friendly, and a delight to chat with. The date was a surprise to my wife (an avid fan of books), and she loved all of it. As did I. It was everything I could have ever wanted in celebrating 50 years of dating my sweetheart. Book Club Bistro is such a fun hidden gem. There's no sign, just a clothing store, but the entrance is through a bookcase in the back. Inside is a cozy, book‑themed restaurant with great service and creative touches like menus on old books. A friend and I went to this place a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking about it! It was her second time visiting and my first. We started our meal with tasty and strong drinks, as well as their seasonal special appetizer, which was the burrata ball with toasts. It was a fun and delicious appetizer. For my meal, I had the alfredo and chose to add chicken on top. Both the chicken and the pasta were delicious and made the perfect pair. In addition to amazing food, the service was excellent. We were both amused by the audiobook being read in the bathroom. If I was local, I would definitely be by this place constantly! read more

Ive been here twice now. The first time it was good with some minor mishaps but the second time was great. I didnt have a reservation but they were still able to get me in during lunch time. Its very small inside but decorated nicely. I recommend making a reservation to avoid sitting in a backless barstool. I had the seasonal pumpkin pie martini to drink. It was yummy. I like the graham cracker rim and the glass details. Ive had the deviled eggs appetizer both times and its been consistent. I like the brushetta and bacon jam eggs the best. We tried the meatballs and they were also very good. Im not a fan of brie but its a small amount that blends well with all the other flavors of the meatball. Id get those again. My entree was the alfredo pasta. It was good. It did come out a little cold but the flavor was on point. The garlic bread that accompanied it was nice and crisp. I wish i had more left over sauce to soak up with bread but the ratio of noodles to sauce was dead on. Its a smaller portion but the price reflects that. I literally scraped the plates of each of our dishes. Next time I want to try that Scarlet Letter cocktail because it looked just like a New York Sour to me. Im really glad that this place is here in St George. I'm always looking for new spots with trendy drinks, unique atmosphere, and delicious food. This checks all the boxes. This is easily one of the best restaurants in St. George--perfect for a date night. The space is cozy and intimate, so I definitely recommend making a reservation. Hidden Gem Behind a Bookshelf! Book Club Bistro is hands down one of our new favorite spots in town. This speakeasy is tucked inside a boutique, and yes--actually hidden behind a bookshelf. The vibe is intimate, moody, and thoughtfully designed. We've been a few times now and keep coming back for the incredible dinner and cocktails and the cozy atmosphere. I just discovered this hidden gem in the heart of St. George. "No way!", you say. "A Speakeasy?!" Yes it is true. It's cover store, a boutique, is fabulous. You won't believe what lies behind the secret door. The bistro is dark and cozy and impeccably decorated. We actually first went on a Wednesday morning when they opened only to find that they were fully booked. Please make a reservation so as not to be disappointed. We went for brunch on a Sunday and it was delightful. The drink choices are numerous and all fun. Several of us had the Mimosa flight and were not disappointed. I had the Maple Coffee Old Fashioned. What a treat! The food was beautifully presented and quite tasty. There were 7 of us so I think we tried everything on the brunch menu. Lots of great flavors. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is due to my non-runny eggs on my Eggs Benedict. This is a game changer for me. If you're going to serve Eggs Benedict, they need to be poached with runny middles. They were busy so I understand. I will definitely give them another chance for perfection. My wife and I recently tried this new, unique little restaurant here in St. George. It's located in the back of a boutique called The Social District. There are only about 6-8 tables and a few seats at the bar, so reservations are recommended. First, you walk through the boutique, and push open the book case at the back to reveal the quaint little "Speakeasy" style bistro. Soft lighting and vintage design surround you, and the incredible service teases at the delights that await. We each had a cocktail; my wife tried the Coconut Espresso Martini, and I had the Bloody Mary. Both were absolutely divine. Next, we shared an order of Meatballs with Bacon Jam. These were so unique and delicious that I wanted to order more, but we decided to save room for our entrees. My wife ordered the Miso Salmon, which was perfectly cooked, and that Miso glaze was the single most delicious part of any of the dishes. I got the Crab Cake with Corn Relish and I have to say, that Cake was ALL Crab, very little filler. The Relish was delicious and a wonderful compliment to the delightful Crab Cake. Just a little background on how we came to this Bistro. My wife and I were traveling home to Idaho after Thanksgiving and meet the owner over a year ago. We stop by a local bar in Cedar there she told us about her dream to open a speakeasy/ bistro in St. George. We made it a point to go to the Bistro to see what she has accomplished. We finally made it there on our yearly travels during the holidays. We had a wonderful time with the atmosphere. Our server Rose was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, we started out with the devil egg and the drinks were good too. They served the drinks in a fun fashion. The main course was delicious prepared. I tried brisket French dip and my wife had the crab cakes both were amazing. The mystery novel desert was amazing also. We will definitely make this a yearly stop during our holiday travel.
