We had such great food at George's! We have been wanting to try it for a long time and so glad we got to visit. Our only complaint, and the reason I didn't give 5 stars was the service was SO SLOW. We waited about 20 minutes to get seated, totally understandable, but once we were seated it was about 15 minutes before we saw our waitress, then another 20 minutes before they brought our drinks(we ordered food the same time we ordered drinks). Once food came we saw her one time in the middle and then didn't see her again for another 30 minutes. We ordered desserts, waited about 15 minutes for those and didn't get one of our desserts delivered. So it was a rough service experience. The food was really good and the outside patio was great seating! We will come back but hopefully have better service! read more

My husband and I dined at George's Corner a few times while in town. The Restaurant came highly recommended by our Inn host -- and it did not disappoint! My husband thinks the steak (locally raised) is one of the best steaks he's ever had. He also enjoyed their burgers. The tamarind glazed salmon and risotto dish, salads and mashed potatoes were my favorite, but truly, everything brought to the table was high-quality and delicious. Including the dessert (key lime pie and crème brûlée). Our server, Whitney, was wonderful. She is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu and potential adjustments (made recommendations that accommodated my gluten-free diet). Treated the family and my Mom to George's while visiting St George on a mini vacation. Walked into the restaurant, nice atmosphere and not busy at all, and were quickly greeted by a couple of friendly hostesses. One showed us to our table and shortly after the server came to take our drink orders. Drinks were served and then our order was taken. We had ordered a pretty good amount of food as we ordered a few appetizers on top of our entrees. First off the stuffed jalapeños were not what I would be expecting and a little underwhelming to be honest. The birria tacos were pretty good but also not enough meat in them. Spicy edamame was definitely spicy, maybe a bit on the too spicy side and that's coming from my daughter who can handle spicy pretty well. No complaints on the wedge salad but how could you mess that up? We also had the short rib bow tie pasta which was delicious, fish tacos (pretty dry and bland), & the cheeseburger. Although I have no major complaints on the food my one issue was with the server. She never came back to refill drinks, didn't come and ask how everything was tasting, and left us having to ask the hostess for our check. She busted a Houdini on us. I was flabbergasted quite honestly. For spending over $200 on food and drinks the service received was something I'd expect at a fast food restaurant and not a downtown "uppity" gastropub. Ordered the Moscow mule and strawberry margarita. Both were light on the alcohol. The margarita was too sweet as well. Got the potted banana crème pie for dessert. That was amazing! Banana crème, chocolate, caramel and coconut topped with whipped cream! Only complaint was the fact that the two person tables are right by the restrooms and positioned so close to each other, we might as well should have been one party. We stopped at George's Corner after trying to dine at another local place that was all booked up. Though George's wasn't our first choice, it ended up working out and we really enjoyed our food and drinks. The restaurant itself is nice and has a fun ambiance. We each ordered a drink. I had a margarita which wasn't very strong but was enjoyable. For my meal, I had the grilled chicken Caesar sandwich. The sandwich itself was really good and I liked the fries and dip that came with it as well. Our server was pleasant and attentive too. If you're looking for a burger spot in town, come here. Was in the search for a solid burger during our road trip and came across George's. Ordered their half pound beef burger with fries, and their house made dipping sauce. Food was great, meat was flavorful and fries were nice and crunchy. Also tried their lamb burger which was good, although may suggest some more toppings to add to the flavor. The Mac n cheese is OK, not as creamy as expected since its house made. The menu is good sized and diverse and there's something for everybody's palate here. We had a vegetarian with us and he was able to find a few items he was interested in. After driving all morning and spending the last hour on the highway searching online for a locals place in St. George that was open at 11 we found Jorgès. We have been sitting here for half an hour. They close between breakfast and lunch and there is no signage, information on google, their website or social media. Also the hostess gave us no info. Other than the empty restaurant was closed. We requested a seat at the bar. They wouldn't serve us either. It's super shady to get people to your establishment when you cannot serve them based on your posted hours. We are very familiar with Utah laws. They change from bar to bar and city to city. They didn't even card us when they finally did serve us and the Sierra Nevada beer we were served was from last September according to the date on the bottle. It's May and the beer was disgusting In the amount of time we wasted in St. George we could have driven onto mequite and had a beer without food as soon as we pulled up. I had the club, wanted a side salad instead of fries or something, salad was lettuce, pecans and pear slices. Now, you would think sounds incredible, but I am highly allergic to pecans. I don't remember there side salads being unique. Sandwich was fine, then honey had short rib bow tie pasta, while he loved it, I thought it was a bit bland and the sauce was very runny/juicy I don't know the exact wording but lacked flavor. Food is subjective because not everyone has the same palette, likes and dislikes. After trying this place ourselves we can confidently agree with the high stars and glowing reviews. I had the burger and you can taste the quality of ingredients! They grind their beef in-house. Which is very important when ordering your burger medium or less than medium. Fries were good as well My lady had the cheesesteak and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well.
