Super yummy Mexican restaurant on St. George Blvd! Easy to find and parking is in the lot and nearby. The line moves quickly. The service was good for the most part. The green salsa at the salsa bar was the best salsa I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. It was so flavorful and delicious. The menu is super simple and straightforward. I got a burrito and everything was very fresh. I loved the whole pinto beans and the cheese in the burrito. My husband loved his birria tacos and the bite I had of them was super tasty. No wait staff, order at the counter. Food and soda are their specialty. This feels family owned and everything was great . Just great. We ordered chicken, carne asada and pork dishes. There is a big hype about this place so I had to go see what it was all about. There was a long line to get it, but it moved at a decent pace. Seating is kind of difficult to get, but be patient. I thought the tacos were mediocre, but my husband loved them! They just come out with the meat and have a salsa bar for you to go put/get what you want on it. Some friends of ours highly recommended this place to us so my wife and I checked it out. It was jam packed with a really long line but impressively they kept it moving pretty well. The Mexican decor throughout is fun and vibrant. I ordered the sweet pork quesadilla with beans and rice. For some reason the rice was cold. But the quesadilla itself was super flavorful and piping hot. So maybe just stick with meat when you come. My wife ordered street tacos and I tasted those and they were super great too. Parking was easy. Although there is seating on the patio, it was way too hot when we went. The staff were polite; ordered at the front and they brought it to us. I ordered the carne asada street tacos. They have a salsa bar to add what you want to them. Among other things they had salsas, limes, and cabbage. They tasted good. We found Angelica's Mexican Grill a few years ago when staying at the nearby Best Western during a summer visit. Now it's our go to spot after a day of snow at Brian Head Resort. Since we usually end up here on a Saturday evening, there can be quite a line. We have seen sport teams and dance teams in full gear arriving here for dinner. But the line does move fast, but the wait for your food can vary. Angelica's is a fast casual restaurant. You enter through the second set of doors, the one under the patio. You then either get in line, or head straight to the counter to order. They'll give you a number and a cup if you ordered a regular soda fountain beverage. You then find an empty table to put your number down, get your drink, and start collecting your sauce from the self- service sauce bar. Don't forget to grab your plasticware and napkins! And then you just wait. Sometimes you can help the staff out if you see what looks like your order and make sure your table number signage is very clear. I wish they offered another condiment size container as I'm always struggling to get the cabbage mix into one of those tiny things. I've seen some patrons ask for a water cup and fill it up that way. Other times, I'll wait to get my order and just bring my platter up and put the sauces directly on my food, which definitely saves all that extra waste. It can get congested at the sauce bar, which is why you ideally want to get all that stuff before your food shows up. Their menu is limited but works without having all the frills. Our repeat options usually are: * Carne Asada Street Tacos $2.59 each, plus 25¢ for meat - Usually comes on two "lightly crisped" corn tortillas and just the meat protein. It's up to you if you want to add onions, cilantro, etc. On our most recent visit, the tortillas were more deep-fried, so that was a bit unusual. We prefer some crisp, but also want it more pliable to fold. Not asking for a tostada here. * Mulita with Machaca * Machaca Quesadilla Kids' Plate $5.49 * Kid's Plate: Bean & Cheese Burrito $5.49 plus 50¢ for meat - The Kid's Plates come with a piece of candy and their beverage can also be from the specialty drinks (horchata, jamaica, or pina). * Quesabirria $9.99 * Quesabirria Plate $14 There was one time where we ordered a protein in the kid's bean and cheese burrito, but there was no additional meat protein to be found. I let the staff know and they made us a new one. So definitely check your orders. Be sure to bus your own tables as well. Trash in the can and the platters/reusable containers on top. read more

My husband and I are visiting from out of town, decided to stop and try out this Mexican Grill . Nothing of what my husband and I ate tasted authentic . The food was very Bland . What was shocking is that they do not offer chips for your salsa . Chips and salsa are a Mexican staple ! The salsas were Bland as well . Rice had no flavor . My husband tried the Angelica special and he was very disappointed . I tried the torta , I was equally disappointed . We spent $50 . My wife and I came down to St George for our vacation which we VERY limited of. Once we settled into our hotel we got hungry and came to Angelicas for dinner. The atmosphere was good, and the service was good. Quick and polite. The man at the register was very happy to help, and made good conversation with me. I enjoyed that part. When we got our food, my wife got a burrito and I got the Carne Asada tacos. I tried them and YIKES. Steer clear of it. The meat was dry, tasted old, and rotten. My wife said it was "fine" only because she had rice, cheese, and salsa with her burrito. I didnt have that luxury. I had just all meat. And the food tastes so amazing they have this free salsa bar with limes and cilantro also an assort of salsa ranging from mild to very hot that you can add on to your food! The worst part of bad tasting food is when it comes back up. I was staying the night in St. George and craving Mexican food. I selected Angelica's based on yelp reviews. I ordered the mulita. And my first warning should've been the way the food looked when it arrived.. Absolutely no appeal. I added salsa from the bar. Second warning should've been when I tried to cut it with a plastic fork and knife. The tortilla wouldn't even cut. I had to tear it apart. Fast-forward five hours and I'm now hugging the porcelain throne. I've gotta get on a plane eight hours. Hopefully this experience will be over by then. We went here because someone online said that Angelica's had good chili verde. We were driving so we figured we would try it. We should have looked at the menu first. I was expecting a sit down type restaurant. You do sit down but only after you wait in a line to order. Then I find that they do have chili verde but not as a plate but as a meat option on your tacos or burritos. As for the food it was ok. I had the Angelica Special. The rice and beans were good but the carne asada with peppers and onions was bland it didn't really have a taste. Good thing there is a salsa bar so you can add flavor. Stopped in for an early dinner and grabbed a Carne Asada Burrito with Rice and Beans.It was huge! Almost didn't finish it. This particular restaurant, you order at the counter the.b grab a seat and they bring it to you. Not a lot of options on the menu, but if they were as good as my burrito, you can't go wrong. My kid order the Torta and it was a large portion dish as well. The dinning area is ample size and lots of tables. There is also a sitting area patio outside, but it was cold so we opted for inside. I love how friendly the servers are here! I ordered 3 street tacos, the sweet pork, carne asada and the Machaca meats. You can also get avocado, beans, rice and sour cream for extra cost. My order was served to me within 2-3 mins of sitting down. So quick! My favourites were the carne asada and the Machaca. The meats were so tender, and the taco was crispy. It's rare for the meats to be so tender and tasty. However, the sweet pork was too sweet for my liking, almost like a dessert. You stand in a line and order at the cashier but while standing in line, make sure to keep an eye out for a table. You almost always get one by the time you get to the front so have one of your party save your spot! The crispy pork tacos are my very favorite. Anytime we come to town we stop by for dinner. We typically get 12 crispy pork tacos, a couple sweet pork tacos and a few shredded beef tacos. The rice and beans are a great addition they're always flavorful and cooked to perfection. When the corn is in season that is our go to as well. First the good: great ambience on their outdoor seating.. great salsa bar! The rice and beans are very good! Service was quick even though they were a bit busy. My burrito was huge and I love how they grill it to make it crispy on the outside. Things I didn't care for.. 1) they don't serve chips at all .. kinda crazy for a Mexican restaurant especially with their great little salsa bar! 2) I'm a very picky eater and their chicken is that kind that doesn't taste or smell like chicken (like makes you wonder if it is chicken) if you're picky like me .. you probably know exactly what I'm talking about.. I ordered the chix burrito it would have been 10x better to me if I'd left out the chix. I only ate 1/4 because of the odd chicken taste. 3) when I was leaving I noticed someone had a horchata and I asked if they thought it was good and they said yes... however when I asked the staff if it was made in house they said no it was made from a powder :( ... Look, St. George has really made some leaps-and-bounds progress when it comes to food. So with all the new Noun & Other Noun type new American spots, and brewpubs, and farm fresh whatevers, it's kinda nice to have an affordable Mexican spot that does it quickly and efficiently. This is an order at the counter type spot, and even though there was a line of 6-8 in front of us, we got there quickly, ordered, and still had our food in sub-15 mins. The place was packed on a Friday night, and there was even a band out in the patio space, so expect a loud vibe. But the burrito and mulita dinner came in at less than $20 total and that's a pretty good deal for a local spot right near the "downtown" area of St. George. Much respect to the salsa bar, I like that there's a wimp option. I went for that plus some of the hottest stuff and it was a nice yin and yang to pour onto the burrito in between bites. read more

Well that was gross. The carne asada is a guisada--really cheap beef swimming in grease. Disgusting. Asqueroso. Im from San Antonio, mi abuelita es de Nogales. Lived in LA most of my adult life.
