This was part of the Marriott hotel, good size bar with plenty of tables and booths. It was an elegant spot. The menu was scarce with some specials. The service was friendly and accommodating. For an appetizer, the fried calamari ($16?) was ordered. It was solid, some pieces were a little undercooked, but besides that, pleasing and light. I had the seafood risotto ($32) for my entrée, which was a special. It came with scallops, shrimp, and calamari in a roasted red pepper sauce. I believe there were about 3 or 4 pieces of each fish, fitting I thought. The risotto was cooked to perfection and the sauce went well with the fishes present. I'm a fan! Came here on Black Friday with my family. The service isn't great but the place has a nice ambiance and lots of seating. The waiter told us we had to pay extra for dinner rolls when we asked for them lol. We ordered them anyway and they were really good and flakey. They have a sports bar and tables and booths. I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich and it was the best one I've had in a while! So moist and a delicious pesto flavor. My family loved their food as well (ordered the chicken panini and shrimp po boy sandwich). It's a bit on the pricey side but beer flight was reasonable ($12 for 4 beers). I hosted my husband's 40th birthday here last weekend and it was fantastic. Excellent coordination and event management leading up to the day and on the day of the event (thank you Stephanie, Selas and Mike)! The ambiance is already great so I only had to add a few of my own touches to pull it together. The Head Chef, Natasha, was amazing and I got tons of compliments on the food. Here we go again... This is our new Friday date night location! Marriott has done a stellar job to open up the dining and lobby area. So open and spacious. Fady, our new favorite waiter, was on hand and on point! Great assist and attitude. Had the housemade chips with onion and chive dipping sauce, which was outstanding, with our happy hour wine. OK...now for the tough decision...what to order!? We always like a lighter menu and B & Z offers it as well as more traditional entrees. Had the French Dip sandwich. AAAAMAZING! The bagette was so soft and fresh, the sliced roast beef tasty and tender, melted Swiss cheese completed the ample sandwich. Oh wait, was that a hint of horseradish aioli ? So many tastes and textures. Now for the "dip". A nice bowl of rich beef broth and sliced onions was the crowning glory here. This dip is also the base for their onion soup, so you can bet that I will be ordering that next time!! Note...I also cheated and asked for some parsley aioli for the fries. THAT was perfect. We also tried their Mac and cheese....this ain't your momma's Mac and cheese! Smooth sauce with plenty of depth, not too tangy, just right. Sorry that there are no pictures...they would only be of empty, finished plates as we just scarfed it all down. Staff was efficient and attentive. Surprisingly good. Decided to go here instead of Cheesecake Factory because their wait time was 45mins to an hour on a Sunday afternoon. When we got here it was empty, we were the only table. The service was friendly and professional. The decor was also to my liking. The food arrived in a timely matter. Was very surprised to find that the quality of the food was grade A. From the presentation to taste in terms of freshness and flavor it was on point. This restaurant could easily beat some restaurant in NYC. The only downside and of course every place has one, is the variety on the menu. Was kinda hoping for brunch food on a Sunday afternoon. This is a very comfortable , relaxed and elegant brunch place in Bridgewater . Our waiter Alex was very good and helped us with all our queries. We tried the brunch buffet. Table for 1 please! Made an on-line reservation for 9:45 pm on my way from the airport. On arrival the waitress knew my name. The service was quick and the food was great. It was a much needed to end a long day of flying from coast to coast. If you want to save your calories for drinks, try the scallop dish. The seared scallops was perfectly cooked and was placed over a melody of vegetables. The base was made with corn, cherry tomatoes, snow peas, asparagus and red cabbage. Delicious! The side order was broccolini was great too. The grey goose with berry drink was on the sweet side. The goose with champagne was much better for my taste buds. I don't show a lot of love to hotel restaurants but this one deserves a shout out. The setup here is awesome. Seating varies from a booth/table to comfy lounge chairs to a beautiful center island. Decor and ambiance feels top notch. Modern. Sleek. Spacious. A perfect getaway from the hustlin and bustlin of the nearby mall. Tbh, I've been here twice and not by choice lol. My boss loves hosting meetings here over breakfast (I won't complain). My boss always gets the cornflake crusted french toast, which is as delicious as it sounds. The blueberry pancakes must also be a winner because my coworker always orders them. I prefer their lighter stuff like the classics and omelettes. Unfortunately my 2nd visit here was not as good as my 1st. The onions and peppers in my omelette this time were practically raw. Raw onions and a 3 hr meeting do not mix well as you can imagine. The hash browns took the cake tho. They were the oiliest potatoes I've ever had. Did not jive right with 3/6 coworkers' stomachs afterwards. Me being one of them, yay lucky me. While the service here is always on point, I think the food was simply off par yesterday. But nonetheless I still look forward to coming back just for the ambiance and beautiful space. read more

This place was very nice and they even provided a coat rack to our table. We had planned to go to cheese cake factory but the wait was insane, so we found this spot and it was actually very pleasant. My only complaints would be certain costs. They have an option for salads (minimum price was $12 for Caesar) and then if you want to add meat it's an ADDITIONAL $10 for chicken (my friend was very upset by this as it was basic chicken and not much), $15 for shrimp additional for shrimp, $16 for steak or salmon... this in addition to the salad already having a base price of 12-16. Not sure how they decided that pricing. This point aside, I would say that the other dishes we got were all on point. A few of us got the Short Rib Sandwich which was very flavorful, as was the blackened grilled chicken sandwich. They have little mason jars or jam and honey (I tried the honey with the sweet potato fries as a dip and loved it) The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean! read more

Tried it for brunch. We were never given a menu, just got directed to the breakfast buffet. We were given a pot of coffee. The coffee was good. We were told we could get omelets and pancakes at the omelet station. No one was attending the omelet station, so we hit the buffet. The buffet had all the basics but nothing special. I finished my buffet food and headed up to the omelet station...still no one in sight to cook. I grabbed the waiter as he went by and asked about the omelets. He grunted something and headed for the kitchen. About 3 minutes later a cook arrived. I ordered a margarita omelet and pancakes. 5 minutes later I had an omelet. The pancakes took another 5 minutes. Apparently two things can't be cooked at once. My omelet was burnt on one side and fairly tasteless. The girlfriend found the pancakes passable. The service was non-existent. When a waiter finally walked past after 20 minutes, we asked for our check. We won't be back. read more

This place is amazing! I was staying at the hotel for work and ended up at the restaurant and bar a few nights. There is a new chef and the grouper sandwich with a side of Brussels and bacon is AMAZING! We also tried ahi tuna appetizer with a spicy slaw. So good! The bar is a great and the bartender Steve is friendly and helpful. A Texas coworker asked for a special drink and he mixed it up to perfection. He also helped me pick a great IPA on tap. Wasn't sure what to expect, but came here for happy hour with a few friends. We ordered a few flatbreads to share, but what most blew me away were their DELICIOUS drinks. I always have high hopes when I go to a happy hour place because their names for their drinks always sound great, but this one actually tasted as exciting and wonderful as it sounded. I got what I think was the grapefruit, and my friend had a blueberry one that I'd very much like to order next time. Excellent late night spot! We used to eat at the old restaurant that was called t-bones and it was actually my favorite. Unfortunately they closed. We finally decided to give it a try and we were blown away! First off there open late, and we love that! We weren't rushed and the service and manager is awesome! I was pleasently surprised by Booker & Zinc! We came for dinner with my dad, who was stating at the hotel. It was really quiet when we went on a Sunday evening. The food was really very good and freshly made. I had the half chicken with asparagas and cornbread. So so yummy. Dad had the turkey wrap, which i finished for lunch the next day, also very good even as a leftover. Husband had the steak which was prepared as ordered, and he was very happy. Kids had grilled cheese with tomato soup, flatbread pizza and burger. All very good (especially grilled cheese and burger!). Fries were crispy and fresh. Great job on everything! Waitress was awesome and attentive. Please give this place a chance. Being a hotel restraurant is tough, but hopefully Booker & Zinc will rise above just being a "hotel restaurant". Surprisingly good. To start off, we live locally. We were not staying at the Marriott where the restaurant is located. This area is in desperate need of good food. It is really lacking quality food. I happened upon this restaurant on Open Table. Was excited to see something new. The restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel and I was admittedly, nervous. But upon entering the restaurant, it was nicely decorated and clean. Service was friendly and good. It wasn't crowded. All 5 of us enjoyed our entries. The drinks were good. The food is very fresh, which is a nice change for this area where everything is usually trucked in on a truck from a food service. The menu appears to be seasonal and tells what local source the items are from. There was quite a good selection. Would definitely go back! read more

We had the all American breakfast and regular french toast. Both dishes were great and the delightful service and calm atmosphere made our experience at Booker & Zinc even better. Came here today for Sunday brunch and was very disappointed. The food was cold, most of the tables dirty and the floor was sticky from someone spilling syrup and wasn't cleaned up. It's very clean and modern. Located in the lobby of the bridgewater Marriott! We are staying at the Marriott Bridgewater and decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. We had dined here during a prior stay and had a good experience, but sadly this was not the case this evening. There were very few diners tonight, so not sure why it took almost 30 minutes to get the hot crab dip appitizer, which was tasty. From here, it went downhill quickly. The three of us all ordered the babyback ribs. The main reason I wanted to write this review is to let future diners know that these ribs are EXTREMELY SPICY! No where on the menu does it mention this. We all had to send our food back to order something else. My mom ordered a flatbread and my sister the burratta salad, both of them were okay. I ordered the filet and asked for it to be cooked medium. However, the center of the steak was raw. The manager did come out to apologize, and offered to buy us a dessert, which we declined, being tired after sitting for an hour and a half. They did charge me the lesser price for the ribs versus the more expensive filet. At least we had a TV in our booth and watched 60 minutes and a funny BIG BANG THEORY episode. Bottom line, we love staying at this hotel when traveling up to NJ to visit our grandmother, but we will not be eating at Booker and Zinc again. read more

My loving bride of 24 years and I dined here and were presented graciously with beautiful and delicious plates. We had Calamari, classic Caesar Salad, Filet Mignon and Salmon. Followed by an order of in season fresh Peach Ice Cream and an Apple Tart. Nothing but pleasure here. Take a chance in this place. The food is typically pretty good. However, the service, quality, and price is highly inconsistent. I stay around the area pretty frequently and order from the restaurant about 2-3 times per week simply because there isn't much else on the area that I can eat. I usually get a salad and some protein. The salads are 12 dollars and they are either given to me in a really small side container or a really large carry out container. The proteins are about 16 bucks. Sometimes my salads have the correct ingredients but they forget my dressing. Sometimes my salads have the incorrect ingredients but I get the wrong protein. I can't figure it out. The salad and protein usually come out to be around 34 bucks total. It is sad to get a side (very small sized container) for 12 bucks about half the time. Sometimes the lettuce is old and soggy with no dressing sometimes it's super fresh. This would be a great restaurant with some better oversight and care to the quality of service. I can also stand there for 30 mins when no one is around waiting for service. It's just confusing. I brought it up once and I was kind of given the i dont know what the kitchen does speech. 3 stars for me because the wings are great! read more

I stay at the Bridgewater Marriott frequently for work. The food is ok by hotel restaurant standards. New dining room is attractive, staff is pleasant but service is usually slow and understaffed. I'm giving a 1 star review because the last time I ate here I could hear one of the female chefs literally going ballistic on one of the other staff loudly. It was slow (as it usually is) so every word could be very easily heard in the dining room. This is so unprofessional and disturbing and I was so uncomfortable that I quickly got my check and left. I wanted to give whomever that poor staff member was a hug before I did. Next time I'll walk across the street for a bite without the dramatic scene and uncomfortable environment. read more

Saw this restaurant online and it looked interesting. Looked up,the menu and was looking forward to lamb chops, mushroom bruschetta and lobster roll. Apparently they changed menus but never updated their website. Made reservations but that was not acknowledged when we got there. There was no hostess stand. I understand that it is in a hotel but the the laxness was quite apparent. We were seated by a waiter who walked by. The food was good but not spectacular. We came here for breakfast last weekend and were disappointed. I had ordered a decaf coffee and French toast with raspberries. The coffee was lukewarm and when the French toast arrived, it was cold, soggy, and missing the raspberries. After I asked, I was told that they had no raspberries. We had an excellent dinner here with no wait on a Saturday night. Located in the Bridgewater Marriott, they merged the bar and restaurant in to one and redecorated (very nice). You can sit in the bar area or the restaurant area. We chose the restaurant area and were seated immediately (not bad for a Saturday night). Our waiter was very professional and attentive. We had the baby kale salad to start which was combined roasted cremini mushrooms and red onion with the extremely fresh baby kale and a nice vinaigrette. My wife ordered the peppercorn filet and asked if she could substitute the butternut squash risotto as a side from another entrée (no problem or upcharge). It was nice size filet, very tender and cooked perfectly medium as she requested. The risotto was excellent as was the asparagus and carrots that came with it. I had the rib eye, medium rare, also done perfectly with a generous portion of grilled asparagus. We both thought these were some of the best steaks we ever had, especially in the area. The dessert menu had about ten items, all of which sounded great. My wife have the ice cream sampler, vanilla, chocolate and a mango sorbet, from Zita's in New Providence (nice local sourcing) and they were excellent. I had the wood fired apple crostana, which is sort of a apple tart with a croissant like shell. We were told it takes an extra fifteen minutes to prepare since they make each one to order, but it was worth the wait. It was excellent and came with a scoop of the Zita's vanilla. Kudos to the bar for an excellent bloody mary, made extra spicy as I requested. All in all, the was one of the best meals we've had in a while. It is on the pricey side, but when the food and service are this good you are definitely getting your money's worth. Highly recommended, we'll be back. read more
