Apparently Tommy's rents out the outside bar for business parties and when it's "Too Hot" for them (seems they dont have proper climate control for an enclosed outdoor bar) they close down half the inside bar to accomodate! Gone here a handful of times and really enjoyed each experience! The place is huge and has outdoor seating when it's warmer out. Inside it has tons of TVs if you're a sports fan. Not much to rave about at Tommy's Tap & Tavern. We were on our way back from an appointment in North Jersey when traffic started backing up, so we decided to pull off and grab a bite to eat. We were seated in a cozy booth off to the right, but it took a while before anyone came by to take our drink order and go over the menu. After that, he disappeared just as quickly. We ordered a flatbread and decided to split a Cubano. The flatbread was cooked perfectly--crispy, flavorful, no complaints there. The Cubano, though? Disappointing. Barely any filling, dry bread, just not what I have experienced with Cubano elsewhere. Our server was mostly MIA, so there wasn't much chance to get it fixed. Management did make the rounds while we were waiting for the check. We mentioned the Cubano, and while he apologized, he also said we should have told our server so they could have made a new one. We weren't about to throw the waiter under the bus, so we let it go. That said the flatbread was solid, the atmosphere was comfortable, and we enjoyed the break from traffic. Tommy's looks like a good spot for a drink, after work meetup and seemed popular for sushi. This spot was attached to the hotel I stayed in while up in the Bridgewater area for training, so an easy location for me. Overall, the food I had during each meal (I ate here twice) was good - once I had sushi and the other time I had a the trio flatbread with tomato sauce, vodka sauce, and pesto. The sushi was decent and the flatbread was very tasty. We had a couple of additional nights with just drinks there too. Service was hit or miss. There were a few bartenders that were prompt and friendly. There was one guy that literally ignored everyone else except a couple of guys he was talking with (around late lunch time). At first I thought maybe he wasn't a bartender since he was clearly not helping people, but sure enough he came and filled a few pints when those guys left, and I saw him on another occasion also behind the bar. There was one other during one of the nights that also wasn't super responsive, but the other two bartenders were pretty good so it wasn't as noticeable. Overall, I'd still come back if I were in the area - big menu selection, and there's at least a 75% chance you'll have a bartender that's paying attention and helps. Annoyed, I explained what happened, and he didn't seem to be phased by what I said or even acknowledged what I said. He handed me my food, said, "Thank you," and just left. I ordered: 1. Hickory Bacon BBQ burger (medium): The burger was juicy and flavorful. 2. Tap House Meatballs: This was saucy, cheesy, and tender. We started out with the Spicy Calabrese Flatbread (san marzano tomato sauce, calabrian chili peppers, salami, provolone and shredded mozzarella) from the Winter Specials menu - soooo good! It's got a good kick without being too spicy. Main courses: Sliced Beet Salad with Chicken & a Hawaii Roll (spicy shrimp, cucumber, topped with spicy tuna, diced avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce & masago) from the sushi menu. The beet salad was just ok, I liked that they added some candied pecans but the dressing fell a little short for me. The Hawaii Roll really surprised me as it was definitely in line with something you can get at a nice sushi spot! We finished off with the warm toffee bread pudding which was divine! What can I say about this place without sounding like they paid me to leave this review? Tommy's is connected to the AC Hotel, which is where I was staying on a business trip this past week and so me and some colleagues all decided to try it out. The first night, I ordered the ribeye with smashed potatoes and the dish was absolutely fantastic. I was incredibly impressed with how well the steak was cooked, how flavorful it was, and how well the smashed potatoes paired with the steak as a 1-2 punch. Was easily one of the best steaks I've had in some time. I tried their sticky toffee bread pudding and I could not have been happier. B-O-M-B, just a nuclear explosion of flavor on the tastebuds. Loved every single bite and was a perfect way to satisfy my sweet tooth after a hearty meal. Second night, we returned and I ordered the full rack of cherry coke ribs. The ribs were tender, flavorful, and a great bang for your buck for receiving an entire rack! I tried the sweet potato tater tots with marshmallow sauce which was a tasty, unique side dish that I'd recommend you try once. Their pineapple coconut margarita was really good as well. The ambiance inside this place is very lively and lends itself to a fun dining experience either inside or out on the patio. Great for catching a game with friends! Lastly, I really would be remiss if I didn't highlight just how stellar the service was by Acella (night 1) and Kevin (night 2). Both provided immaculate service and really are incredible at their jobs, so they deserve some recognition. The tuna came coated with sesame seeds and felt filling, topped over a well dressed salad, mixed with veggies. They also have general Tao's cauliflower as an appetizer and delicious nachos. The staff clearly works hard and seems to stay upbeat and responsive even though it gets busy. I really commend this establishment. Tommy's Tavern has Firepit tables outside, which gives a nice ambiance at night. The bar itself is very unique. It's a huge rectangular bar. Part of the bar is on the outside with the patio and it has a separate entrance from the main entrance with the rest of the bar. This restaurant's access has no steps, so I think it would definitely accommodate Handicapped people. Had a very enjoyable lunch this past Saturday celebrating my daughter's birthday with the rest of the family at the Bridgewater location. Reservations are not accepted for the weekend but are during the week for parties of 8 or more. We arrived at noon and were able to be seated right away. Huge menu so I recommend taking a look online before you go as you don't want to miss out on anything. Appetizers are abundant and I highly recommend the General Tso's Cauliflower and the Chicken Dumplings. We all had something different as our main plates so I will say that everyone was pleased with their meal. The food is good and I have never not seen it busy which is proof that it is a quality place. Even if it's busy they usually seat you fairly quickly. I returned here for a few steady hours of eating and drinking. The food I had is below. Spicy Roll - This was a spicy tuna roll with cucumber and topped with crunchy onion and spicy mayo. This was alright, a little plain. Breaded Wisconsin Cheese Curds - This came with a house made marinara. The marinara was a little too sweet and I preferred the curds to be eaten separately. The curds were fried appropriately but were inconsistent with the cheese presence. Spinach & Artichoke Dip - This was served with tortilla chips and probably the worst dish of the day. The dip was just not the best. It was essentially just cheese and not much spinach or artichoke flavor present. Firecracker 50/50 - This was calamari and shrimp seasoned in a Cajun tempura batter, fried, and tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. This was one of the best dishes I had here. The batter was tasty while the sauce had a nice balance of sweet and spicy. Coal Fired Jumbo Pretzel - This came with lager cheese sauce and a spicy mustard sauce. The pretzel came out warm but could have been salted a little better. The cheese sauce was too thick, but the mustard was alright. Italian Long Hot Peppers - These were good as they were fried appropriately with plenty of heat as one never knows how hot an Italian long hot will be. Yvette's Veggie - This pizza contained grilled eggplant, zucchini, garlic, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, and basil. This was solid. There was a lot going on, but all the vegetables went well with one another. It was actually better when it sat and became room temperature. Latitude Roll - (see previous for similar thoughts) Super Yellowtail Roll - This roll came with yellowtail, avocado, cucumber and topped with yellowtail, sliced jalapeno, masago, spicy mayo, and eel sauce.
