    Double cheeseburger and fries
    Steve S.

This place has a pretty decent throwback vibe. The music was fun and the decor was cool even though some of it was worn out (pads in seats and tables etc...) I'm the type that orders burgers when I go to burger places and this double cheeseburger was pretty darn tasty. SUPER greasy but good flavor. The fries were just ok. For the price this place could be a little better. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place but if you've got kids and want a safe choice this isn't bad.

The KV burger: basic burger plus all the fixings *and* grilled mushrooms and onions. Side of fries okra. Tasty-plus!

Traveling west on I-44, we were overdue for lunch. We asked the lady at the tollbooth when we exited this stretch of I-44 (from the eastern state line w MO, to OK City, I-44 is toll road) if there were restaurants in town, and if so, for a recommendation... and this place was it. At the time, I'm not even sure if we knew where we were. Turns out, we were in Bristow, OK. Right along the old Route 66. And yes, there were restaurants in town, including one you need to try if you're in the area. At the Boomerang Diner we found fresh food; friendly, customer-service oriented servers; great prices and a fun, retro 1950's, Route 66- themed atmosphere. Because this is primarily a "burger" place, that's what we both ordered...but the patty had obviously been freshly hand-formed and my fries were sliced from real, fresh potatoes. My husband pushed the culinary envelope and ordered fried okra...he ate them all except the one I tried (it tasted pretty good) and then he finished off my fries as well. Suffice to say, if you're hungry when you walk out of the Boomerang Diner, it's your own fault.

Small town charm from a chain. Super fun decor. Amazing attention to detail for such a cheap meal. First spot in a long time to ask how I like my bacon prepared! So much more important than the eggs. As for prices.... $14 for two people to eat a big burger for lunch? Great prices unless you are comparing to the dollar menu at a fast food spot. Only down side was lack luster service. Very friendly but no urgency. Not many tables but people were literally raising their glasses for coffee. Wife asked for cream and I ended up having to find some for her.

Really cute place with oldies music, old pictures on the walls, checkerboard tile. Had eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancake. Everything tasted great. Service was good, too. My mom thought the coffee was great. Also, bacon was crispy, which seems rare!!

Food is always good if you're looking for some breakfast anytime of day. That just happens to be my favorite meal.

We have eaten there in the past with good results and figured we definitely needed a burger, onion rings and a hand made shake. Our trip down Route 66 was as pleasurable as always and when we arrived at Anchor 66 the parking lot was full. Luckily one table was leaving just as we walked in so we got an immediate seat but here were also stools available at the counter which would have been perfectly fine with us. My wife ordered the Grandma Retha burger and I ordered the Sooner burger. We shared an order of onion rings and we each ordered a milkshake. Everything was great. The burgers were hot and juicy the onion rings were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. The shakes were definitely the best we have had on some time. We will definitely be returning to Anchor 66 soon for a other dose of goodness. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for us. It was a pleasurable dinner tonight. We will be back!!

We came in for lunch as a group of six, traveling through town, where we could sit at two booths, or at the soda bar across from the grill. The server met us with menus we could use inside or outside on a being developed patio. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and burgers from the menu, not knowing what to expect. One thing I was sure about was that if this diner didn't have something special, it would have never survived as long as it has. The appetizers- (pictured) corn ribs & fried mushrooms were good and served to order. The hamburgers and fries were fresh, warm, and well-prepared. The price was a little more than expected but the hamburgers they delivered were more than what was expected as well and I would order the same again.

The drive is 56 miles. The Rock Cafe is on Historical Route 66. Built in 1939 from stone that was excavated during the construction of Route 66. It is a charming small town cafe, rich in history. The owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the animated character Sally Carrera from the 2006 film Cars. The Cafe is rustic, casual, with a cool fun vibe. The staff is friendly and the service good. The dining area is not large. When we arrived there were a couple of booths and center tables available, but a few minutes later a group of 16 came in and filled the Cafe. We started with fried green tomatoes ($8,25). They were very good. The best I've had at a restrauant. All three of us ordered the chicken fried steak ($14.35), mashed potatoes, cream gravey, and fried Okra. It was very good. The chicken fried steak was just the right size and had substance compared to those that are big on batter and light on meat. The mashed potatoes and cream gravey just right. Loved the fried okra. The meal was scrumdiddlyumptious. The Cafe was not noisy even though they were maxed out busy. The prices are very moderate. It's a fun little Cafe with good food.

There was enough for two people to share. Portion could have been better. Service was great. Attentive without being pushy. A fun place to eat. Lots of memorabilia from the movie Cars, which took inspiration from this restaurant. Definitely big on Route 66, too, as evidenced by the adjacent gift shop.

Everything was smoked perfectly - even the baloney, which surprised both of us eating there - and absolutely tender. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. I did not see either a Corn Bread or a Biscuit choice which I would have chosen, but took the usual's just to see how they're done at Rustlers. I'm not a banana for dessert fan, that is, until my dinner guest forced me to have some of Rustlers Banana Pudding. I am now a rabid fan of banana's for dessert. Yes, it's that good. Don't keep whistling down the highway at 80+MPH trying to get somewhere faster than you should. Slow down, stop in, and get some well made BBQ. Sure, you're going to have the "meat sweats" once you've had your fill, but it's all well worth it in the end.
