We have eaten there in the past with good results and figured we definitely needed a burger, onion rings and a hand made shake. Our trip down Route 66 was as pleasurable as always and when we arrived at Anchor 66 the parking lot was full. Luckily one table was leaving just as we walked in so we got an immediate seat but here were also stools available at the counter which would have been perfectly fine with us. My wife ordered the Grandma Retha burger and I ordered the Sooner burger. We shared an order of onion rings and we each ordered a milkshake. Everything was great. The burgers were hot and juicy the onion rings were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. The shakes were definitely the best we have had on some time. We will definitely be returning to Anchor 66 soon for a other dose of goodness. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for us. It was a pleasurable dinner tonight. We will be back!!

One thing I was sure about was that if this diner didn't have something special, it would have never survived as long as it has. As for service in particular, if you decide to stop in and dine I hope you get a waitress named "Jordan". Besides having the best name ever, Jordan is friendly, attentive and helpful. You wont' find a better waitress. Serving sizes are enormous and prices are more than reasonable. The place is busy with both travelers and locals. It provides and experience that is great for the old, young, couples and families. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely dine here again.

The Rock Cafe is on Historical Route 66. Built in 1939 from stone that was excavated during the construction of Route 66. It is a charming small town cafe, rich in history. The owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the animated character Sally Carrera from the 2006 film Cars. The Cafe is rustic, casual, with a cool fun vibe. The staff is friendly and the service good. The dining area is not large. When we arrived there were a couple of booths and center tables available, but a few minutes later a group of 16 came in and filled the Cafe. We started with fried green tomatoes ($8,25). They were very good. The best I've had at a restrauant. All three of us ordered the chicken fried steak ($14.35), mashed potatoes, cream gravey, and fried Okra. It was very good. The chicken fried steak was just the right size and had substance compared to those that are big on batter and light on meat. The mashed potatoes and cream gravey just right. Loved the fried okra.
