I'm not sure how you can run a small business and be so incredibly rude to the customers. This was our experience when we walked in and ordered drinks and food. Nothing disappointed me tonight. I'd recommend enjoying this saloon. I do prefer less crunch and more meat to my wings but the flavor was spectacular. Fries were regular, but hot. We went here after an event after it was recommended as a "good dive bar" from a friend. The bartender working was rude the minute we walked in with backhanded snarky comments, it only got worse through the night. We tipped well, but apparently he didn't care about providing any kind of good service. The food didn't look like anything great, all that was being served after 10pm was frozen pizza and apparently nothing after midnight. It's really not hard to throw a frozen pizza in a toaster oven, especially if it wasn't even that busy. This guy completely ruined the place for us. read more

It felt like 95 with the heat and humidity of the day and I was doing the out door stuff for hours so I wanted to get to a cool place and get a cold beer and some lunch so I stopped here, MISTAKE. The place was mostly empty at the lunch hour on a Saturday which seemed strange because it's the Dells. The place is nice looking with the wood monster completely throwing up all over the place because it was wood overload. There was pool tables and the usual bar games with booths in the back room for dining. There was about 10 taps with a 3 Floyd's something that was probably the best tap so that's what I got. There is a small kitchen against the wall with a grill and some fryers for the one sheet menu. One thing was wrong from the beginning, it was as hot as the outside minus the sun beating down on you. My server asked if I wanted to see the menu and I said yah just to look at because it's way too hot in here to enjoy lunch and she said on hot days like this the AC just doesn't work well. She asked if I wanted another beer and I said I have to move on to a cooler place for lunch and she said she wished she could do that. If you have spent most of your day outside in the humid heat and want a cool place to chill, this is not that place. read more

This was a pretty nice bar/sports bar restaurant in the Wisconsin Dells area. Nice and quick service - I tried the burger that had the siracha/Jalepanos on it - very fresh and good. Some of the regulars can be annoying (drunk and talking politics/like philosophers like we don't hear it everywhere else in 2020) and expect to sit at the bar if you come here, there's almost no seating for regular tables so this probably wouldn't be a good place to bring kids. Overall, a nice place to have a beer/burger. read more

Stopped at the Arco a mile up for the night.. shut the truck off.. then me and another trucker walked down to Boomtown Saloon a half mile away... just looking for a stumble home... well there was snow on the ground but the town cleared the sidewalks all the way there and further I'm sure... went inside and sat down... good hometown ambiance and a fun looking joint... dollar bills plastered on everything with a saying in each one guess all you need is a dollar and a marker... so I ordered up the white BBQ burger and homemade Chilli... first bite of the burger was epic!!! I decided to eat as slow as I could just to savor the flavor! So good! The Chilli was out of this world good... I wish my belly was bigger I'd still be there eating!! It was hands down the best flavored burger I ever ate before.. onion crisps on it.... Burger cooked right... bread was good... Grr it was good...... I had three double jack and Pepsi with it and that may have been a mistake cause by then I had eaten my food and on the third glass I ordered a basket of fries which were delicious!!! Well on the stumble back... I purged.... Ya I wasn't even half way back to the truck the other trucker was laughing and almost threw up himself but needless to say I felt great afterwards... I did get it on my shoes and a little on my pants but wow the food was so good just not so much second taste you know what I'm sayen... Great service, great food and everything came out very quick! The wings were tender, full of meat and flavor. Fish tacos were just as tasty! Upbeat atmosphere, fun place to have a few beers and grab some grub. By no means "fancy" but we love local little dive bars so to speak. We just stumbled in by accident way from Chicago to MN. I refused to enter the chaos known as the "Dells". We loved this place! We split the Rule the Roost and onion rings. Everything was delicious. I was kind of sorry we split it. I'm a sucker for a white sauce and it did not disappoint. Also, the onion rings aren't pre-made frozen. These were clearly hand battered and fried fresh. Also, on long road trips we get tired of talking to each other. The owners were welcoming and friendly, as was the clientele. It was a really nice visit. P.S. My wife and I stopped in here for our first time the other day and figured we would see what it is like. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. They were not very busy, however it was a Monday and after lunch time. We ordered their bucket of wings as a snack which were excellent. The sauces they have to choose from were tasty. Several of them the bartender said they make in house. Prices were reasonable for WI Dells. We will back for another visit sometime in the future. read more

Just stopped in to catch a bit of the Brewers playoff game and the 4th quarter of the Badger game. I had a Sheep Head Amber Ale and my wife had a Seagrams 7. We also ordered the bourbon chicken nachos. The food and the drinks were incredible!! The bartenders (and the cook) were all busting their butts and still kept smiling with all the crazy requests that were asked of them. I highly recommend this great hometown bar/restaurant!! Very disappointing. Our group chose this place because of the "Nashville eats." We should have reviewed our pickup order before taking it home because none of our food was tossed in hot sauce. We were served plain chicken tenders and wings. We called to tell them our food was plain and they assured us it had been "drenched in sauce" and then hung up on us. Only a couple tables and food has to be ordered at the bar, per a small sign we didn't see but someone pointed out after we sat there almost 20 minutes. The staff is so extremely welcoming, the food is fairly priced and is great, and you don't feel overwhelmed by crowds. Stopped by this place based on reviews and was really impressed with the service, quality, and taste of the food. We ordered the hush puppies, boneless wings, and the White BBQ cheeseburger. We only ordered the hush puppies because I had a coupon for a free order. I typically do not like them, but my husband does. I decided to try them and was hooked!! We thought they tasted like a mildly sweet, deep fried cornbread. Homemade and served with a tasty honey butter. I ordered 12 boneless wings: 6 with Buffalo Sauce (always a sure flavor for me) and 6 "Nashville Hot". I enjoyed both and can't really explain the flavor of the Nashville Hot. They were not spicy (hot) at all, but had a distinct and mildly seasoned taste that I really liked. They were crisp too! My husband had the White BBQ burger and fries. This burger was excellent. The flavor was outstanding: a grilled burger with pepper-jack cheese, a white sauce (mildly sweet and tasted like a homemade ranch more than a bbq), homemade thin fried onions, lettuce, and tomato. Absolutely a must have!! The fries were spiral and thick cut. Also seasoned well. We will definitely come here again. They have great happy hour specials that we will time right the next time. Boomtown is a very special place. They have a theme of being country music bar and have brought in some great talent to keep on par. The food is excellent, they have a Nashville flare and even put their version of Nashville Chicken on their menu months before I saw it advertised by a big chain on tv. They have a pleasant uniqueness to their menu like brisket nachos, which are great! The staff is engaging and attentive. They take the time to get to know your name and start a conversation. The atmosphere is open a bright and we feel welcome at every visit. One thing that impresses us is their use of social media to get their specials and events out on. Businesses should model their social media after them. read more

Not sure why 5 star reviews where so prevalent at this establishment. It's a bar with a couple fryers and a grill. Nothing exciting or out of the ordinary. I was excited to have the hush puppies, but it was deep fried corn bread with no flavor. Grouper tacos had some heat but still lacked flavor. Of course the fish was fried. Deep fried nachos rounded out the meal - very uninspired but consistent with the deep fried grease theme. Kids where present but I wouldn't say it was a great place for families, but my kids had fun busting up their fingers on the pool table. Stop in for a beer and app if you like country music, otherwise stay at the resort and eat their mediocre food. Normally I would give 3 stars but I need to balance out the other reviews read more

Excellent customer service! We stopped in while on vacation for appetizers and drinks with an 11yo & 3yo and we're pleasantly surprised they had a bucket of crayons and activity sheets to occupy their time as well as covered plastic novelty cups. Our bartender/server, Joe, was friendly and efficient and was very knowledgeable on the deliciously curated drink menu. We ordered the Half Naked Curds with jalapeño ranch dipping sauce and the Chipotle Crusted Steak Nachos and although the nacho platter seemed to have less steak and altogether smaller portion size than the one pictured on the menu, our family of four had only stopped for a snack before going to another establishment for a larger family dinner and we were more than satisfied with our overall experience and quality of the food; the steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. I ordered the the Lovesick Blues from the expansive and custom crafted drink menus, which I highly recommend, and the family all had sodas; the 11yo enjoyed the frosted glass for his Sprecher root beer. At 3:30p on a Wednesday afternoon it was a very family friendly atmosphere, but I can see how this place could get a bit loud in the evenings as it is a full bar with tables and a smaller dining section with a pool table and four additional booths where we sat. Additional outdoor seating is available with picnic tables and umbrellas. Contemporary and classic country music was being played over the sound system at an appropriate volume for the time of day and amount of guests in the building and they offer live entertainment as well. Boombtown Saloon is now a family favorite and we look forward to returning while on vacation again next year to try the Nashville Hot Chicken and Boombtown Hush Puppies! read more

I needed a beer and a bite really badly. I pulled off the I and found this place, after some minimal confusion with the exit, my choice of gps system, and what I'm sure is an ever-developing, oft-constructed area of Funland, WI. The bartender, and a couple of what looked to be locals were the only ones around. Were it not her duty as barmaid of this balmy, backwoods beverageer, I was sure my tangled tufts of blue hair would've estranged me from my humble host, as it did so easily force down the heads of the two or three assumed townies on my side of the rail. As it was, she turned out to be quite pleasant, if not chatty. She explained, in great detail, the process of molding the lackluster, undercooked tortillas, daily. Perhaps, the necessary few seconds on a flattop could've facilitated the obligatory function of "carriage system," that any tortilla has so rudely demanded of it. Exploding bottoms and raw masa aside, the fried fish tacos and bitter IPAs filled my guts and steadied my nerves well enough to get me back on that lonely highway. read more

In less than a year since opening in May of 2015, this local's hangout has tweaked and transformed itself to become a great option for live music, food and drink. They bill themselves as a county bar, and their live music is typically a country band with some non-country local artists and bands mixed in for variety. Hopefully they will offer even more live music in their 2nd year! The food is really good too. Burgers are grilled over open flame and taste just like you cooked them yourself on your home grill. Delicious beef brisket finds its way onto several items including pizza, nachos, burgers, wraps and tacos. The jalapeno ranch dipping sauce is the perfect accompaniment for their awesome half naked fried cheese curds or deep fried pickle chunks (let's be honest, it tastes great on anything, even a finger when the food is gone!). Really good soups too, including a fantastic Reuben Soup that occasionally makes its way onto the daily special board! Their daily happy hour specials are great too. While they may still be evolving, on recent visits I enjoyed Taco Tuesdays with 4 different flavors of tacos (brisket, beef, fish and chicken) for just $2 each and Berger Thursday with $3 Boomtown Burgers. Both days also offered BOGO pints of draft beer from their rotating taps. I hesitated before writing this review, because I fear that as more tourists discover Boomtown Saloon it might lose some of the local charm that makes it special, but the staff is wonderful and I am sure they will find a way to maintain their charm while meeting the demands of increased tourist traffic in coming years. read more
