WOW IS REALLY ALL I CAN SAY! I make it a point to come here every time I'm back home visiting Wisconsin and I'm just obsessed with this steak house. Their food is perfection every time I come. I come for happy hour and it has never disappointed. I ordered 6 small apps, escargot, scallops, 6 blue point oysters, cheese curds, and shrimp cocktail. The scallops which are done in an amazing cream sauce with bacon were so good I also ordered them with my ribeye which was cooked perfectly and practically melted when you cut into it, incredible. Mom loved her pork chops. The chocolate mouse shooter with house made whipped cream was the perfect ending to an amazing birthday dinner. Thank you for making my mom's bday spectacular, Maddie gave us excellent and attentive customer service. Have you ever been to dinner and a couple bites in you start to wonder when the next opportunity is that you can come back? That's the The Del-bar to a T. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:45pm reservation on a Saturday and sat at the bar for a drink. I opted for a morning glow and an espresso martini. Both were decent, I would probably explore another option next time. Seating took a little longer than we thought, seated around 8pm. I'll be honest, at first our sever seemed like a jerk, but quickly turned it around. We started with the cheesecurds, we ate every single one of them. The salads that come with dinner were the perfect size and the bread was a nice touch. We went with a couple of different steaks and they were some of the best cuts we have ever had. As avid 801 Chop in Minneapolis this place blew them out of the water. Second best thing were the mashed potatoes- holy crap, so good! The hash browns were okay but I would have been sad if that was my only option. We were stuffed but the flourless chocolate cake was calling our names. I made a reservation for a Tuesday night at 5:45 PM. Julian was our server and was amazing ! Very attentive. I ordered the lobster bisque which had so much lobster in it. I ordered the 6 oz filet (medium) which was charred on the outside and melted in my mouth. My husband had the boneless ribeye - very little fat and one of his top 5 all time best steaks. I had the spicy margarita which was so good. They had a lot of dessert options but we didn't order any. The place was dimly lit so it was a very romantic date night. The reason for my 4/5 stars is that a margarita in a small bar glass should not be $15. Our total bill for 2 lobster bisques, 1 6 oz filet, 1 16 oz ribeye, a beer, and a margarita was $172. We had exceptional service in the bar before dinner thanks to Bryana. The escargot was phenomenal-the best we have ever had. The crab she suggested was also delicious. The espresso martini and French 75 were also excellent. The glasses of champagne they brought over because we were celebrating our anniversary were unexpected and a very nice touch. We had the petite filet and the chef's specialty ribeye. They were both excellent and cooked perfectly. The server recommended the mashed potatoes, and it was a great rec. They were amazing! Andrew, bartender, made one of the best lemon drops I've ever had. My favorite is truly just sitting in the bar and having appetizers. In my opinion, the Tuna Tartar is phenomenal and the best value in the restaurant. The Shrimp Cocktail is also first rate. The Scallop appetizer is really good, and a little different than I am used to ... very good preparation in an extremely tasty sauce, so a little different than the normal pan seared or garlic scallop. I will always get the first two, but will have to be in the right mood for the third. One diner had the short rib, Bolognese, and said it was phenomenal. We stopped on a Thursday night for my birthday. Our server Alexandru was amazing! He was on top of everything. Food was also amazing! I had the ribeye with bone marrow butter and mashed potatoes, it was perfect. My boyfriend had the New York strip and a loaded baked potato. He said the steak was good, but the potato was incredible. The food was amazing we had for appetizers large cold shrimp with cocktail sauce delicious the service was 10 out of ten and I had a 14oz rib eye steak medium well with smash potatoes my other half had 20 bone in rib eye steak and French fries the salad was so good. My steak melted in my mouth better with the marrow butter on top amazing. I had never had a steak that melted in my mouth trust me I had been to Michelin star restaurants but this by far was the most tender steak I ever had but I should had said no salt. It was a fair experience. The food we had was good. The menu wasn't original nor particularly appealing. I think I ate the only dish that sounded good to me. The meat wasn't tough but nor was it as tender as it should have been. I am familiar with the cultures from which these foods derive. Del-bar's innovations are not an issue; it's always interesting to see what creativity brings. A pity they don't succeed in improving upon the traditional dishes it seeks to elevate. The service could have been better. Our server was more excited by the large group next to us to see that we had drinks coming or that our orders came out as requested. Perhaps he was looking forward to a larger tip than he would get from our table of four that never managed to order a second round much less drink it. My parents age and needs were not taken into consideration when we requested certain substitutions or omissions on their plates. Nothing the kitchen couldn't have handled. My mother and I just shared my meat dish. The guys were well enough with their food. This wouldn't have been such a disappointment had our server been attentive. The place is nice enough but the room is arranged so that there is no sense of cohesion from area to area. That may be by design. I just felt like we were sitting where the less than fashionable people are hidden when they insist on entering your doors. I just didn't enjoy the place. I was hoping, above all, that my elderly parents would have a good dining experience. They would never say anything, of course, but I could see they didn't enjoy the place any more than either of us did. We did have a great time because, when it comes down to it, the company is what matters. We broke mediocre bread together but I am grateful we had it to break together. Give this place a pass. Okay so this is only covering the short time we spent. We came here to get apps and drinks around 530pm on a Saturday. It was BUSY. They don't lie-make a reservation... and if you want to just pop in, make sure it's the very early bird special (4-430ish). We went to the bar and got drinks. A very nice waiter (shoutout to Jon) serviced us and even helped us get a seat near the bar. Impeccable service regardless of how much or how little we were spending. I can't believe I didn't leave a review! My husband made reservation in November 2023 for our 14th wedding anniversary. Booooy, did we over indulge and it was so worth it. We didn't typed of oysters and a few cocktails to start with. If I recall correctly, I believe we ordered the blue points and Rockefeller style on the oysters. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. For dinner he had the filet and added on some crab legs. I'm from coastal Georgia, so I'm a bit picky and it was just a tad over cooked, but still good. I had the brick chicken and every bit of that plate was clean. We, of course, ended the meal with desserts and some spiked coffees. I ordered the creme brûlée and he chose tiramisu. We shared and both were spectacular. I forgot which coffee he chose, but I had the millionaires coffee and it finished off the meal beautifully. I wish I could remember our waitresses name. She was absolutely superb! She always appeared right as something was getting low and moving through the courses with such ease. We did want to let the manager on staff know how amazing she was, but were told they were in the kitchen (by another staff member) but he assured us he would relay our praise for such amazing service. The ambiance was perfectly suited for an anniversary meal, but also so many other occasions. We saw a small birthday celebration between close friends, a dad out with his two younger (and very well behaved) kids. The bar had quite a few blue collared guys, fresh from work. I loved seeing such an eclectic mix of people just enjoying a quality meal and service. From the hostess to the very end, every moment of our anniversary dinner was exceptional. This has really set the bar on how great a Wisconsin Supper Club should be. We will be returning customers as long as we live here. It was barely half an inch thick complete with the bits of gristle one would expect to find at a cheap chain restaurant and not on a 60.00 steak? I can no longer recommend the Del Bar as a great place to go to dine if this is the kind of beef that is coming out of their kitchen. There are far better choices in the area. read more

The Stuffed Mushrooms were delicious and I could have made a meal of just that but... The Spinach Salad with warm Bacon Dressing is not something you see every day. Warm rolls. 3 different ones! I had a perfectly cooked 14oz Ribeye. Definitely go for the Bone Marrow Butter. Loaded baked potato was very tasty. I decided to add some roasted Brussel sprouts. The wife had the Halibut. She didn't want it blackened and she wasn't sure about the lemon garlic pesto. So they just broiled it for her and put the sauce on the side. (I liked the sauce.) The Mashed Cauliflower was really good. My wife loves Pink Squirrels and Del Bar has a good one. I opted for the Lemon Pot De Creme. Very refreshing! Liz was a great server as was the entire staff. Do not sleep on The Del-bar. The Del-bar has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in Wisconsin. The atmosphere, food, and service are over-the top. I currently have a restricted diet for medical reasons (Gluten, dairy, and soy free), which makes going out to eat less enjoyable and also impossible at time. They had no problem accommodating my needs. I ordered the salmon (modified to accommodate restrictions) and my food was superb - flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Del-bar also offered multiple non-alcoholic options. I enjoyed a lavender and lemon mocktail. A few other tips (from this and past visits): - The espresso martini is a must after dinner (they have a mocktail version as well!) - Upgrade to a specialty salad, it's worth it - The Béarnaise sauce that comes on the salmon is phenomenal - Don't rush your dinner here. Back to the Del bar. Lost count how many times I've been here but it's on the punch list. A perfect supper club. They had entertainment as we walked in to get our table the weight was about an hour and a half. The host suggested the bar which is you guys know we thrive on the bar. It's been about a year since we've been here. Had a funeral to go to in Madison and all the hotels were sold out, oh for shame we were stuck having to go up to the Hilton Garden Inn in the Wisconsin Dells. I like nothing like a good excuse to get over to the Del bar as it reeks nothing but ambience for a supper club. The former owners were sitting at the other end of the bar enjoying the company. John ate bartender took care of us with perfect precision. Peggy and I split a 6 ounce tenderloin with two side salads and ended up getting the peanut butter pie dessert. If you do decide to come here be sure to try the spinach salad with a hot bacon dressing. Yum Yum. It was outstanding all expectations met. The ambience is to die for. There is so much to say about The Del-bar!! I loved this place so much. My husband surprised me for my birthday and booked a reservation here. The restaurant is gorgeous! Next time I hope to sit in the booths close to the bar where the lighting is darker and beautiful decor! We had the side room with more lighting. It was still beautiful! Our service was wonderful. Despite being a very busy Friday night, we never felt rushed for a second. Our waitress had the perfect balance of checking in on us. It can be annoying sometimes when they check too often, or worse, not enough. Our waitress just knew the sweet spot and gave us incredible service. Onto the food. YUM!!!!! We split the jumbo shrimp cocktail and they put fresh horseradish right in the middle. My husband loved that!!! I can't do horseradish like that lol but I could easily push it to the side for him to enjoy! My husband ordered the bone-in ribeye and it was perfectly cooked. I took a bite and it was so incredibly tender and flavorful. I ordered the halibut and this was one of the best fish dishes from any restaurant. They cooked it perfectly!!! The flavors were sensational and I loved the sides. The Parmesan cauliflower was DELICIOUS!!! Onto dessert. Omg. Hands down the best tiramisu I've ever had and I've had a lot of tiramisu. First time it was so over cooked and salty I couldn't eat it and neither could the waitress. My friends were about done so I skipped dinner. This time we ordered quickly per request as prime rib was running out. I wanted a king. When served I was told it was too late and only queen was available. No horseradish cream sauce. Wow. Such a fun supper club experience. The restaurant isn't a huge wide open space so it makes each table feel quite intimate which was perfect for our date night. We both got the filet and I've never had one like it. It was crunchy and salty on the outside and soooo tender and perfectly cooked to MR on the inside. The bacon dressing on the spinach salad is a MUST in my opinion. I have been looking for a copycat recipe ever since. The ice cream cocktails are fun and we enjoyed speaking with a manager who answered some questions about wine and even brought me a taste of two he thought I might like to decide which route to go.
