Really liked this spot for dinner. Dining room was sparse, food was delicious and service top notch! Plenty of parking outside. Can't wait to go back. I had the felafel po-boy and my friend and I split the vegan Mac& cheese. It was very filling.

Everything I've eaten here has been delicious! I love that they have a dedicated vegan menu! The owners, husband and wife duo, and also the other staff are all super friendly and customer service-oriented. My favorite dish to order is the Loaded Vegan Nachos with added Beyond Meat. I also enjoy the Vegan Quesadilla, Sumac Clucker Vegan Sandwich, and Hummus. The house iced tea is something special, the wife makes it with her special spice blend. I will continue to dine at Boon Cafe especially when I'm coming in from a flight at O'hare. (^_^)

This feels like such a hidden gem in the area; it's always empty whenever I go. Everyone who works there has always been so sweet and genuinely happy to see customers, whether it be for take out or dining in. The food is always flavorful and well seasoned; never a sad taste bud when I'm there! I got the beef chapli burger last time on recommendation of our waitress and it was bursting with flavor. We always get one of their loaded fries when we go - I feel like this is the only place that does loaded fries right. I have yet to try something disappointing here. It's a smaller place with around 10 tables and slightly diner-esque. Generally quiet. Cozy.

Came here yesterday with my wife and I am pleasantly surprised at what a gem this place is! The food was absolutely delicious. I'm a sucker for good fries because fries usually get cold and lose the crunch but these fries were phenomenal. I got a classic cheeseburger with coated fries. My wife got a swiss burger with curly fries. We also got a slice of cheesecake and tiramisu. We loved everything. The restaurant was clean and organized. The atmosphere was cool. It's a shame that its location gets overshadowed by the ice cream shop located a couple doors down. They also have vegan options and some Halal food too. Service was also amazing. We will be coming back to try more food.

The food here is wonderful! I'm vegan, my family is not, which is one of the many reasons to love the menu at Boon Cafe. They have wonderful meat dishes like steak quesadillas and po boy sandwiches, but they also have a full vegan menu that can be healthy like curried cauliflower or junk food like vegan chicken po boys. I got vegan curry cauliflower and vegan samosas and they were packed with flavor. Highly recommend this little spot.

Boon Cafe in Norridge, IL is a hidden vegan (and omnivore) gem! The owner is so kind and creates delicious fresh food that made our taste buds dance. Loaded nachos, loaded fries, falafel sandwich, and a vegan burger made us so happy. We will definitely be back. If you're dining in, you must arrive before 6:30pm, otherwise take out is the option.

We arrived on a Saturday around 7:30 and they started getting packed and had a wait by 8. They are cash only but if you forget they have an atm inside as well! Prices are so shocking! Each bowl was about $14 which is the cheapest I've seen a bowl of pho in a looooong time. Food comes out pretty quickly. We order the appetizer fried shrimp Rangoon, bun Bo hue, pho dac biet, and avocado smoothie w/boba. The base of soup for both dishes was AMAZING! Good depth of flavor and not lacking anything. The bun Bo hue had a ton of meat and they even have the pork blood cubes! Pho dac biet was lacking a quantity of meat but good variety. The only complaint I have is the Avocado smoothie was very bland and didn't have much avocado taste. The boba tasted old because it didn't have its chewy texture anymore. Will DEFINITELY be coming back for the food!!!

Best of all, the prices are very affordable compared to other places I've tried. The goi cuon is only $5.50 for two rolls, while other restaurants charge around $7.50. I highly recommend this spot. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash, although there's an ATM inside.

They asked if I wanted to meet for breakfast, and so after looking up the options close to their hotel (which was surprisingly limited), I stumbled upon Elly's. After looking at Yelp reviews, it seemed like a great option and would be easy for them to Uber to. And it was a great choice. We ordered coffee, which they promptly refilled multiple times for us, and then two of us got the crepes with either strawberries or blueberries on top, and the other got one of the omlettes. The crepes were extremely good. Portions are great and prices are reasonable given the amount of food. The staff was friendly at 6:45 in the morning (they were way more awake than I was) No photos of the food because it was my first time meeting one of my colleagues IRL (and only the second time meeting the other) and I didn't want to be weird haha. But trust me that the food looked great. I took my leftovers home to my parents' house (because I was visiting them afterward). I let my dad have them because I knew they wouldn't survive the extra 90 minutes back to my house when I was done with my visit. He told me later he put vanilla ice cream on them and they were delicious, so they held up well in the 45 minutes it took me to get from Elly's to their house, and being reheated later in the day. I'd definitely go back anytime coworkers are at a conference and want to meet up (which is surprisingly often. Perks of living near a hub!)

I don't remember it being this bad but... now I know, I guess. Food was not great. The pancakes were kind of--well, gummy is the word that springs to mind. Not pleasant to eat, at any rate. The omelet I ordered, the Southwestern Omelet I think, was ok. It was a bit thin, but maybe that's just because there were a lot of ingredients in it. The "Homemade" lemonade tasted like it was fountain lemonade. I left half of it, and the half that was consumed was mostly because my child wanted some. That was especially disappointing, because I don't order lemonade at restaurants unless it's not Minute Maid because that stuff is awful--and if Elly's truly has homemade lemonade, they should be embarrassed that it tastes identical to what Coke sells. I don't usually eat everything when I go out for breakfast and am happy to take half home for another breakfast, but I didn't want to take any of this home with me. I will say that they're fast--we were here less than an hour. I think it took fewer than 15 minutes from the time we were seated to when we got our meal, and we didn't order immediately upon being seated. We went on Saturday round 9:45 a.m. and it was half empty, though it was Easter weekend so I'm not sure if that had any impact.

It is a casual somewhat "fast food" style restaurant where you order at the counter. I came before dinner time so the place was relatively empty. I ordered the Combo Plate #2 which included grilled lamb kabab, beef kofta and chicken kabab. The combo came with a Jerusalem salad, house salad which was essentially a cucumber salad, pita bread and rice. Overall, the flavors were generally all there. The only issue I had was with the preparation of the chicken and lamb. The chicken was overcooked and dry. It is as if they had cooked the chicken kabab and was refiring it on the grill to order. The beef kofta was fairly tender and flavorful, but the lamb kabab seemed to lack the distinct gamey lamb flavor that questions the quality of the meat. The combo plate is a hearty portion so you certainly won't go away hungry. Overall, for the area, Falafel Dream should satisfy any Meditereanean food craving. I haven't specifically tried their falafel, but I would be cautious if they are made beforehand rather than made to order. If you have ever had authentic Middle Eastern food, this doesn't really quite hit the bar. It may cater more to the American taste preference. Service was average. Prices were reasonable. Parking is very limited.
