It looked like maybe a manager and another employee. They obviously saw us cause they were in front. And they glanced at us. They did not even acknowledge us. They obviously were speaking about something. But they left us waiting for at least 3, 4 minutes just standing there. No hello , I'll be right with you. No , sorry you had to wait. Nothing. I visit McAlister's Deli often with my family, and I'm always amazed by the exceptional service from the staff. Diana greets us with her warm and friendly smile at the register each time we come. She goes above and beyond by recommending seasonal sandwiches and accommodating our dietary restrictions. Today we dined in and Diana even handed us a handwritten card!! I had a taste for a sub and wanted something different. So I looked on Yelp and found McAlister's. It had good ratings and lots of options. I wanted turkey and chose the spicy turkey melt. It had some good veggies added to the sandwich. Roasted turkey, bacon, pepper jack, avocado, chipotle ranch, spring mix and tomato on toasted baguette. The spring mix was a surprise. I thought it would just be some romaine and iceberg lettuce. But it was a nice handful of a spring mix. It wasn't spicy with the pepper jack or chipotle ranch. The sandwich was delicious abd for a 6" it was filling. I liked the toasted baguette. And since I was eating it in the car, it wasn't as messy as I thought it would be. In my mind, their points of difference are: - baked potatoes (5-6 different varieties) readily available as a meal or as part of a pick 2! For $3, you get an entree like pizza, grilled cheese, Mac and cheese, sandwich, or salad, a side (+$0.59 for an upgrade), and a mini chocolate chip cookie. Love it! Oh, Auntie Anne's hot dog bites are an entree option for a 50% premium ($4.58 meal). - 10% off for military or first aid respondents ongoing! I can't remember if teachers are also included in this. - very clean interior. I've been to 3 different locations this year, and all have consistently shown this. Clean tables, floors, bathrooms. Menu has plenty of hot or cold (like club) sandwiches, 8 or so salads, and 4-5 different soup options, along with the aforementioned spuds. My go to is usually the horseradish roast beef sandwich, which comes warm and is a good balance of savory beef, horseradish to open up your nasal passage, crunchy and acidic red onion, and cheddar cheese. I love that McAllister's is there as an alternative to Panera. Whenever me and the wife feel like eating healthy but also something delicious, this place hits the spot. If you're familiar with the pick 2 options at Panera, they over something similar. 1/2 sandwich, salad, soup, OR spud. You cannot go wrong. My daughter and I stumbled upon McAlister's when we were in the area shopping recently and wanted lunch. We ordered sandwiches for curbside pickup on the app, which was very convenient. Their menu has a good variety of sandwiches, some salads, baked potatoes, soups and sides. They were busy so our order was delayed, but when we got home we realized that our food was worth the wait. We've been going to McAlister's for months on Friday's. And it just keeps getting worse! Sandwich's are thrown together. Extra items paid for not added. I have to pick up the mess and make a sandwich out of it I don't cook on Friday's for a reason. I guess because we go drive thru we won't notice until we get home. On a bright side we have a positive note we are getting our pickles again. Roast beef is horrible tough, stringy and tough. Online order placed in Bloomingdale. Choose 2 woth Veggie zsoud and garden salad. Drove 5 miles home and they packed the hot spud in same styrofoam container with salad. Salad was cooked! Called, spoke to manager just for awareness/training and he indicstes that's the way they do it. Adked how that makes sense to put a cold salad in closed container with steaming food when condensation and heat cooks the salad. Repeated same. Offered salad on next visit. Explained there is a chaon of command over him, maybe he could affect change in process. He again explained thats how the do things. Make sure if you get salad, request separate container. Found myself looking for a good lunch spot today and came into McAllisters for the first time! As soon as I walked up to the front I was greeted. I have never been here before so was unsure of what to order. I decided to go with a chicken Cesear wrap, soup and the Guava tea was recommended by the girl working the register. She had great customer service and helped me order with her personal suggestions. Joann brought us out the food and said she really hopes we enjoy it and wished us to have a great day. More great customer service. My husband went with a classic rueben sandwich, cup of chili and lemonade. The kids got a pizza, chix salad and broccoli chicken bowl. It was all delicious. The chicken was fresh, the lettuce was crispy and just the perfect amount of dressing. The reuben was very tasty. The chili was GREAT. A lot of places have a layer of oil on top of chili but this did NOT which was a super pleasant surprise. (I hate it when there is a layer of grease, ew). The kids were a part of the clean plate club and enjoyed cookies with their meal! I did snag a bite and the cookies were great. Tasted like grandma's homemade cookies. We also got Cinnabon cookies which were a mix in between snickerdoodle and Cinnabon buns. Great lunch all around. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant. Not a smudge on the windows or glass... anywhere. All the tables were clean - which is super important obviously during a pandemic. All the employees were wearing masks. We did a curbside pick up yesterday for lunch as we were in the area. I went with their Jalapeño Turkey Crunch which consists of Smoked turkey, jalapeño spud chips, bacon, pepper jack, avocado and mayo on toasted jalapeño roll. McAlister's has some pretty delicious sandwiches and I like how they display the calorie count on their menu. The most recent to-go purchase I made was the French Dip. It was very good. The format here is kind of like a Panera on steroids, with so many options that it's difficult to choose. Actually the menu board is so packed that it's hard to read it from the area in front of the counters. The food is overall really good; my favorite item is still the first one that I tried, the southwest chicken sandwich. The southwest chicken and avocado salad is also quite solid. I've tried about half a dozen sandwiches and there was only one dud...though I can't remember which one it was (maybe that's a plus). I have eaten in a couple of times (before the pandemic) and ordered takeout, and the workers here are next-level cheerful and helpful. I wouldn't come just for that, but it's a nice angle. read more

McAlister's is tucked in a strip mall next to the Party City and across the Petsmart. McAlister's offers friendly service, a clean space, and ample parking. What sets McAlister's apart is that you can pick any item of the menu as a pick two AND they have tons of options, so the combinations are endless. They have a variety of sandwiches from turkey to BLTs, to clubs, to Reuben. I've tried the Italian and the spicy turkey. Both were tasty! The chicken tortilla soup is SOOOO good and has a little zing to it! I've also tried a spud that was loaded with chicken, cheese, bacon, and a chipotle ranch!! Yummy!!! I've also tried a salad which was pretty good! For dessert, the chocolate chip cookie is fantastic! I look forward to going back and trying more items! I used to order from McAlister's once a week. Loved the sandwiches and soup options. Plus their iced tea is awesome. My son loves their grilled cheese too so was a win-win. I have stopped ordering though because my last 4 orders all had something really wrong with them. Either missing drinks, wrong sandwich, nasty fruit in the fruit cup, and two times had missing soup. Big errors in my opinion and the frequency has turned me off. I would only recommend eating there if I were you to make sure you actually get your right order. read more

I love all the food choices and the employees are awesome! Unfortunately every time I go in the place it is dirty. I almost lost my shoe on the sticky floor right in-front of the register.
