For the price it's good fast food. A good mom and pop joint. Line wasn't too long and we came around 5:00 pm. Area is a busier area so sometimes hard to find parking. Two hotdogs with fries, ketchup, and hot peppers 10/10, can't go wrong. Grilled chicken breast sandwich with fries also 8/10, big chicken to handle at once but slowly but surely really good. I will be coming back!

Ordered through Grubhub...and got just too plain hotdogs. I called to find out what happened and I was told that I had to specify "everything on it" even though there was no option to state this. In the menu, Grubhub, it states what's on it. It should have come with onions mustard etc $10 wasted!

The BEST Chicken Kabob plates EVER! My absolute favorite!!! You won't regret it! And the service is super great and fast!

As many of you already knew, Rosa J. likes to hang out with fellow senior citizens and police officers. Well, they seem to know good neighborhood places to grab a bite. Thus this evening, Rosa J. and hubby explored a little bit of Dunning/River Grove neighborhoods and found "Goody's" for some gyros! There weren't many pictures or recent reviews on this place, so I left this "bookmarked" on my Yelp for quite some time. However, after walking through the double-doors, what I saw was a spacious dining room, featuring Chicago sports photographs, articles, and memorabilia on the walls. Ok, perhaps I might have more confidence on the food that would soon be served. I was attempting to locate the value meal menu I saw on their Yelp business page. The young lady cashier pointed me to the right, for my peripheral vision was temporarily blindsided somehow. Hubby and I both went with the Gyros (Gyro plate and Gyro sandwich combo). All value meal combos come with fries and a fountain pop. Hubby's gyro plate also came with a side of Greek salad. Although Yelp put Goody's under the "fast food" category, we waited for approximately ten (10) plus minutes for our food. Was it considering "fast," like a Ji*my J*hn's commercial? Since we weren't under the time constraint, I was checking out the seemingly yummy food that senior citizen social club on my left was consuming and the River Grove police officer's giant muscles, with some fierce tattoos, on my right. Food has finally arrived. First of all, the presentation was pretty fantastic. I'm no expert of gyros, but I enjoyed my gyro sandwich. I thought the yogurt sauce with dills was tasty. In addition, the side fries were crispy. For $20 and some change, we did have an above-average Greek-American style "medium-speed" feast. I will definitely be back if I ever wonder around the Thatcher Woods plaza area (the strip mall next door). Heading to Goody's is accessible via CTA #77 (Belmont) bus. The nearest stop is Belmont/Plainfield. I have to apologize that I failed to capture their business hours for you Yelpers' convenience.

The double dog that I actually DID NOT ORDER.

I love Goody's, I'm there all the time with my parents or myself. I called in for pick up and ordered what I ALWAYS get, two hot dogs and fries. When I opened the bag it was a hot dog bun with two hotdogs, I didn't order a double dog. So I went inside with my mom and she tossed the bag on the counter, remember that, and one of the older men that's always there as a cashier proceeded to accuse me of ordering the wrong thing. After repeatedly telling him that I get the same thing and didn't order the wrong thing, he tried pointing at my face and repeating I did and it wasn't their mistake. So of course my mom got pissed, and starting getting louder telling him not to talk to me like that and he continues trying to accuse her again of throwing the bag at him. In the end, I honestly didn't even want the food anymore so I said I wanted a refund, so this man said "good, I don't want this shit anymore" so a different man that's usually there when we are stepped in and told the other man to go away and tried offering a remake, but I just wanted a refund and instead got gene and judes. So end of story is I'm never going to Goody's ever again. Thanks a lot for pissing off all of us three of your frequent customers. We couldn't believe the treatment we got and won't be going to Goody's AT ALL anymore. Deeply dissatisfied and disappointed.

We had children with us and asked for their menu items to come as fast as they could. However, the server was extremely short with us and didn't even bring drinks quickly. While the restaurant was not very busy, it too a very long time to get our food - especially one in our group who didn't get food until almost everyone else was done. The food itself was ok, but I would say that nothing was exceptional - somewhat bland entrees and lacking originality. Could be what we ordered...as I know many people find the food here to be quite good. The prices are reasonable for the area but I was disappointed with the general unfriendly service and time to receive food. I've been here previously and we had a somewhat lackluster meal that time also. The previous time, they were pleasant enough but food was only ok - entrees were not very hot when we received them. All in all, there are friendlier spots in the area.

When I was here I got the #8 Greek chicken which was nicely seasoned broiled chicken, garlic bread, and rice. It came piping hot and fresh and served with a drink. I loved it! Their fries and onion rings were delicious, too. Pop's totally reminds me of a true Chicagoan spot for some grub - you'll see locals coming in and out while talking with the staff (because they're regulars) about the Bears, work, or construction nearby on I-90 (very Chicagoan). I loved the lowkey and charming feel here. Their pricing is affordable with most combos (including fries and a drink) being under $11. It's better to eat individually or with 1 person if you want to dine-in since they don't have tables inside, just a built-in tabletop against the walls so you're facing the window/wall when you eat. I recommend taking your food to-go. The 2 men at the counter helping me were personable and approachable. Located in a tiny stip mall off the busy street, this place is a small spot with convenient parking right out in front. Pop's is one humble fast-food place that serves up fresh menu items and Chicago classics. I'd recommend it!

The reviews advertised authentic German food. As a German I had to try it. The potato pancakes were a good start, tasted like mom used to make. The Platter had a lot of food. I don't know what region this place is from, the sauerkraut and Blaukraut were not Bavarian, the Spätzle felt ready made and not home made. The Bratwurst was too fine for me, I'm thinking north German. The strudel was good tho. The service was fantastic! From host to server they took care of me and made sure I wanted for nothing, so I can't complain there. Decor wise this looks like what you'd imagine a German restaurant looking like in the US. Lots of banners advertising beer and German flags hanging on the walls with a collection of steins everywhere you look. Overall it's not "authentic" for me, but the food tasted good and the service was exceptional.

The sandwich was delicious, I would have liked the bread toasted to a crunchy element but was still a good sandwich. For an appetizer we had Samosa (similar to an empanada in concept) this was filled with peas and potatoes which were seasoned nicely and when accompanied with the turmeric sauce was awesome. The turmeric sauce added spice and a new level of flavor. We also tried the marsala fries, they were regular crinkle, cut fries, but with a special flavor of marsala; also very tasty. I ordered the Goat Curry marinated goat cooked in a homemade cashew gravy. I also ordered garlic naan which was phenomenal; the goat was season well and very tender, it also came with Jeera which is a light rice that you can literally sprinkleon the curry instead of being clumpy like regular white rice. Using the naan as a vessel to eat, the dish, took it to a whole new level. Glenda tried the mango lassi, which is basically a shake made with mango, ice cream, and shaved almonds on top. That drink was cool and refreshing. We will definitely return to this restaurant, there are a few more things that I would like to try.
