    Duck kaprow

I dine here many times. Its a small place but can fit in many people and good service. My favorite dish is always Duck Kaprow.

Holy crap that was a delicious pad Thai. Too many good looking dishes on the menu from salsa to soups to noodles and rice and curry. Could come here everyday and still have more delicious looking options. Highly recommend super fair price too

This is our first time here, and I know my friend adores this place for their authenticity and spice level. If you are not into spicy food, just make sure you order things that steer away from spice (ie: curry dish). My wife ordered Pad Thai Voon with shrimp, which essentially is clear glass noodles. The shrimps were amazingly large and for $15, that is an amazing deal. I ordered the Pad Thai just with vegetable as protein for $12. This dish is a home run and very authentic in terms of taste and texture. My son ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken for $11, and finished it all up. We also shared the mango sticky rice for $10 which honestly the mangos were extremely fresh and the texture of the sticky rice and the sauce all sang in unison. Overall, would highly recommend this place and we will come back. FYI, they only have limited tables and chairs in the premise with no bathroom.

This place is really a hole in the wall with no decorations. Just a small room filled with benches, tables, and a cashier section. But every time you pass this place, there are always people eating inside. There are a few things that aren't great about this place, such as no bathrooms, and the portion sizes are small depending on what you order. There's only one server who managed everything by herself, which was amazing. But she didn't seem frazzled or anything and took everything in stride. I noticed a slight difference after splitting the check, and the tip averaged out differently. Just be sure to do the math. For the table, we got Som Tum, which ended up being spicy, but still good to eat. For myself, I ordered Tom Yum Koong soup, which has shrimp inside. It wasn't spicy at all, and very small. All in all, I probably wouldn't return as there's so many other thai places to eat at.

As someone who grew up around Elmhurst, this hole in the wall seems to be a staple in the community. I made sure to stop by with my dad after a morning of running errands in the area. It's been a few years since I've visited because of college, but not too much has changed except some minor tweaks to the menu. To start, we got two Thai Iced Teas ($4.25 x2) and two appetizers: the Chicken Bite ($8.95) and Fried Calamari ($13.95). For the main meal, we split the Shrimp Fried Rice ($11) and a Chicken Pad Si Lew ($10.95). Boon Chu's Thai Iced Tea never misses! I loved it all the previous years coming here and I still love it now. I think the Chicken Bite is a new add to the menu. It was alright but I think it would be more worth it to get popcorn chicken elsewhere and for cheaper. The Fried Calamari was also great and lightly seasoned, though I wish some pieces could've been a bit smaller, since some of the larger pieces felt somewhat batter-heavy when it came to the small crevices. The sweet chili sauce was delicious though at times overpowered the natural flavor of the appetizers so make sure to find a good balance when dipping. The Shrimp Fried Rice was delicious! But it would have benefited to have more shrimp. The Pad Si Lew was also great, though I would've preferred the noodles be softer. The Pad Su Lew also had a slight fishy taste compared to what I'm used to - from what I'd guess was Oyster Sauce. I personally didn't mind but it's something to keep in mind. As far as food goes, it might be worth skipping over the appetizers since the were roughly about (and sometimes more expensive) than the main dishes we got. The food was very flavorful and we were able to finish everything between two people for a decent price ($58.08) The restaurant itself is very quaint and small. I was surprised how quiet it was on a Saturday afternoon, but the ambiance was very cozy. Another thing I really liked was the design of the menu. All the items have an associated image which is great for someone like my dad who can't read English and likes to choose items at a new restaurant based on what looks good. Plus the menu is extensive! Seems like the perfect place to try something new each time. Service was great as well. There was one server who was very attentive. She brought over sharing plates and moved over an extra table when our dishes couldn't fit on ours. I'm a little biased since this restaurant holds a special place in my heart. While admittedly, it's not outstanding, Boon Chu is very charming and reliable, which is why I'll continue coming back time and time again.

Came here on a Friday night with a few friends. I've visited the restaurant before in the past but did notice that the portions have gotten smaller since a while back. Aside from that, the service was great and it wasn't too noisy or crowded inside. I got the pad sew with beef dish and it was definitely really tasty. The place is a little small so keep that in mind when planning to visit.

I was looking for a cheap lunch with a friend and stumbled on this restaurant along Broadway. WARNING: NO BATHROOM! Food + Price: 5/5 I loved the duck soup. It was tender and the broth salty but sweet. My friend's beef soup was much more savoy and came with rice! Her soup was loaded with bean sprouts which made me have food envy. After 50/50 split of the bill tax & tip my damage was $14!! Yes please!! Definitely worth the price and great for on a budget! Ambiance: 5/5 The interior of this place so chill compared to the bustle of Broadway. Their AC constantly saves my life in summer and it is a great place to chat. All in all, I am definitely coming back! I only wish it wasn't so far from me! Still a great budget eats.

My mom and I were getting our hair done in the area and we're both starving after so we came in for a quick meal. We were both surprised at how cheap this place was with rice or noodle dishes only around $10 and appetizers are less than $10. Portion size is on the smaller end but is perfectly filling for me. The space is a bit small but they managed to squeeze 4-5 tables in. The tables are pretty small so when we ordered 4 dishes (again we're hungry) we had to move another table to fit all the plates. Luckily the place wasn't too busy but definitely started picking up with diners and to go orders by the time we left. Will def be back for a quick, cheap eats!

Tried this the first time and it will be my last time because of the following reasons 1: portion is too small on all the foods 2: beef noodle soup is super small compared to other stores I've went to. Also found a small fly in the soup. My noodle was sweet and then little sour which is a very unfamiliar taste. 3: I didn't have a good taste to the pork chop. 4: Thai noodle was OK.

Always love their food in this tiny restaurant. It's always good and fresh. My go-to is the pad kee Mao with shrimp. I tried their crispy noodles with chicken and shrimp and it's not my favorite, prefer the Chinese version noodles, but there are so many options. I also love their chives pancake. I always take my food to-go, but noticed the diners wanted to use the restroom. Notice, this is a small restaurant, the front of the door says "No Restroom". Keep that in mind, they do accept credit card though and the service is always friendly.

They definitely didn't tell me that lunch specials were available before I ordered my soup. Other than that, everyone is pleasant. Space: they have two sides, so plenty of space, but nights and weekends can get pretty packed, so keep that in mind. Food: I ordered Tom Yum soup and a lunch drunken noodle with a Thai iced tea. I only had the soup there and took the entire lunch special to go. Just based off of the soup, I will be going back. It was delicious and PACKED to the MAX! Writing this now, I can still imagine. Drunken Noodles were also really tasty. I like mine spicy and it could have been made spicier, but that's not even a real complaint. Also- the one next to me had this dish which reminded me of pad see ew but in a gravy. Looked delicious!! I will be back for whatever she had. Overall: the entire block is like a little Thai street. There are lots of Thai food options and I finally made it to Ayada. Super happy with my meal and excited to go back with some people and enjoy.

The server was so nice and accomodating to us! - Tom Yum Soup - Such a great soup! The flavor was super rich which contrasted very well with the fresh mushrooms. - Crispy Duck Panang Curry - I love that this dish came with rice as I feel like at most Thai restaurants in the city you need to order it on the side. The duck was extremely crispy and the flavor of the breast went very well with the rich curry. - Raw Shrimp Salad - I've never had this dish before so I was very interested in its flavor and it delivered! The shrimp had such a wonderful sour but fresh flavor while the inside of the shrimp was slightly soft almost like an uni texture. The best word to describe it was umami! The raw bitter melon and the garlic was also interesting to contrast the fishy flavor of the shrimp although we didn't really finish these side pieces at the end. I wish they cleaned the shrimp a bit better as there were still some poop tracks in the shrimp. Overall, a wonderful restaurant and would be very happy to come back to try more of their items!
