I haven't been in Woodside for a very long time since I moved out of NY. It was a must visit since I was in the area. The seatings seem to space out with more breathing room a bit from long time ago. More waitstaff and very attentive. Indoor was very cold but the outdoor was hot that day so we chose to sit indoor. Duck noodle was not disappoint. Kuay tiew kaak- curry noodle with rice noodle, chicken, bean sprouts, egg, and peanuts was a good reminiscence. The curry itself was very thick which makes this dish heavy. This was the same as before. Kao soy chicken was a bit different. It used to be bone in thigh, which was the highlight of the dish. Now it is boiled chicken pieces. A very good authentic Thai restaurant. There are dishes here that aren't available in other Thai restaurants. The crispy watercress salad (not pictured) is my favorite dish. Great ambiance and service, we are repeat customers we love the steamed trout with coconut rice. Mom decided to try something different so she tried a trout soup. Very bad experience! In photo attached she unfortunately encountered some sort of lemon grass / bamboo she almost chipped a tooth , it was like finding a cinnamon stick in her soup that was in 1 inch size pieces. Found out about this restaurant years ago after a friend recommended it. We went in the wintertime and years later, it is still a beautiful space! Loved their food and their menu has expanded since then. Not to mention there is a backyard which is especially pretty in the summertime with a fountain, flowers and a peacock decor. Tried the northern sausages again. We also ordered the vegan drunken noodles, pad cha, chive pancakes and seafood pan fried egg noodles. The food was flavorful without being too salty or spicy. Loved the Thai green tea with the vanilla in it and we compared it to the Thai tea which is black tea brewed with spices and tamarind. The ripe mango with sticky rice is always good, so I tried it again. The Tub Tim Krob and Kanom Neaw desserts were also interesting! My friends and I came in last weekend for a wholesome weekend lunch. The outdoor space on the back is beautiful and perfect for a good weather day. My friend and I opted to get a vegan combo with coconut rice, papaya salad and green curry. The bummer is that they do not let you customize the curry - the only option is to get the green curry. We also got Thai tea with no milk. I forgot to get pictures of everything essentially as I was starving. The food came out in decent time. The papaya salad was really good. The green curry was delicious too. Not the best I had, but not bad. The coconut rice was essentially plain rice - I didn't taste any coconut flavor in it. I didn't mind. The Thai tea was really good. Revisted the spectacular crispy Chinese watercress salad, going for a not-too-spicy variant. The sliced fried catfish and duck green curry were also outstanding; there was no spice discussion for these, the heat was reasonable but of course personal preferences vary, call your broker. Someone complained the menu's too long. Hmm. I've never had anything here that wasn't great but this isn't a diner lobster situation. I came here many years ago when I was young and single. Now that I'm married and older, I thought I would eat less, but forget about it! Lol! I forgot to come back but didn't forget to eat lol. So when Hubby's friends mentioned it, we decided to dine with them here, and we ordered like we hadn't eaten for days lol. This time we ordered two whole red snappers with two different sauces. I have to share some continued love for SriPhaPhai. After all these years, they have remained a top destination for Thai food in the area (and maybe the whole city) and always deliver on the quality. So glad I found this place! It's conveniently located in Woodside, Queens a block off of the main road. We were looking for a good spot for dinner, and I came across this cool spot. We love Thai, and were so glad this place was open and has a variety of entrees. They have a gorgeous, updated interior, and they have a beautiful outdoor covered patio with a water fountain. We sat outside, and it was such a relaxing place. We had pineapple juice, dumplings, pork salad, chive pancakes, pork belly, shrimp, coconut rice, chicken, Thai jelly and Thai ice cream. I absolutely loved all of the food we had; it was so fresh and flavorful. I would definitely order these dishes again, but I would love to try more of their options. We decided to try this place for a casual work meeting. A few important things to note off the bat: 1. This place is NOT cash only as of Dec 2024. They take credit cards but charge more per dish (essentially a small credit card fee). The website says it's cash only (I don't like it when business websites are outdated.). 2. They open at 11:30 am so if you show up early and the weather sucks, too bad. You'll be waiting outside until 11:30 am with no cover. With that said, overall it was a good experience. I went with a small group of 3. We placed our orders and food came out decently hot and relatively quickly. I asked for medium spice level and I'd say it was rather mild. So don't be afraid to go for a little more spice if that's how you roll. I would recommend the Drunken Noodles. The rice noodles are so tender. Love that consistency. The tom yum soup is exactly what you would expect. Tom yum is basically a Thai soup that combines hot, sour, and sweet. The shrimp was overcooked but that's expected when it's sitting in a blazing hot (temperature-wise) soup. I like tom yum. Some people absolutely hate it so if you're not sure what it is, keep your expectations open. Service was ok. Staff was nice. They kind of forgot to bring our drinks so we had to ask after the food came out. And for dessert, they didn't have the mango with sticky rice which was disappointing. If you're going to give me a dessert menu, you gotta tell me that the #1 on that menu isn't available. We ended up getting lychee sherbert and it was tasty. Restaurant was roomy and clean. The BEST Thai restaurant I have been to in the States. I was fortunate enough to go with a friend who is Thai and we left all the ordering to him. I am so glad we did because he got items my girlfriend and I never think to get, and he also told us the best way to pair the items, which we would have never considered! Dishes we indulged in: 1. Laab Ground Meat (chicken)- 10/10. Flavors spectacular and generous portion to share amongst our group of 3. 2. Fried catfish salad- really absorbed the flavors of the laab perfectly and was such a delightful texture addition to the laab. 3. Green curry with beef- flavors were on point and the meat was perfectly cooked. Our friend told us the best way to enjoy it was to poor over the omelet and my oh my this changed my life! 4. Kang Som Cha-Om Omelet- this may sound odd, but I don't like omelets because they tend to have that strong cooked fried egg flavor. But this omelet completely changed my stance on omelets. The flavors were so perfectly balanced and I was impressed by how enjoyable it was by itself. 5. Pad kee mao with beef- this is always one of my favorite items at Thai restaurants, but the one here was exceptional. The quality and portion of the food here was 20/10. Cannot wait to go back. I read a review about how this restaurant was the definition of "mid" and I'd have to agree. Came here on a Saturday a little before 7. Waited about five minutes to get a seat inside. The menu is absolutely huge and probably has most Thai dishes (both the popular to American staples to more localized dishes). Ordered the northern style Thai curry, dry egg noodle, and crispy Chinese watercress salad. The salad was probably my favorite. Liked the crispy bits of the fried watercress and good contrast with the sauciness of the mixed seafood/chicken it came with. Dry egg noodle was decent, although way too overly sweet in my opinion. Needed to ask for some pepper and vinegar to offset the flavors. The northern style Thai curry noodles were probably the most confusing. It was spicy which I liked, but also way too salty in my opinion (and I love salty food). Definitely very different from other curry I've had before. Not sure I really liked it though. Service was also a bit slow to get our check or water refill. The space itself is quite big and they have even more outdoor seating so I can see this being good for larger groups. The server originally took us to a table in an empty room but then was able to change us to the main room with more diners. The food was goood! The menu is a bit overwhelming but there are delicious and more rare options available: - fried soft shell crab (4/5): love me some soft shell crab! The batter was nice and crispy. - Tom yum soup (4.5/5): hard to make Tom yum stand out but there was just something to this one that was perfectly balanced and a good level of spice. - wide noodles with tofu and squid (4.5/5): delicious - green curry (3.5/5): it was standard, this one didn't stand out to me but it was a exactly what you expect from a green curry. - longan juice (4/5) - be warned it is very sweet but they add fresh longan which I appreciated. We came because my out of town friend was a regular here when she lived in NY. The food was so so. Overused of fish sauce and sugar. The sautéed dishes were very watery and overcooked. The portion were also very small. Service was the worst. Our waitress was rude and mean. We paid 80% of the bill in cash and 1 of my friend paid in card. She came and toss the money back to us and said we were short of the tip. We asked to clarify since we paid the amount listed on the bill with the suggested 18% tip. She told us to figure it out and drop the money on the table and walked away. We were perplexed and confused. I finally realized that because we paid with a card we owe the entire credit card amount and not the cash total, so in order words, we we short $2 of the SUGGESTED tip, but she made us add another 4% on tip of the 18% we already added. read more

The menu is super overwhelming and there are tons of options, so take a breath before you sit down. We started with the grilled pork neck, which was both perfectly crispy and tender. The flavoring on this was great. Next was the gai-kua noodles, which wasn't my favorite in terms of the flavoring but the squid was nice. The crispy pork basil is always a hit in my book and this was no different, would recommend trying this on the spicier end. Finished with the Panang curry with jasmine rice. While delicious and seasoned beautifully, I was hoping it would be just a bit spicier (we had asked for the spiciest so not sure if they do make it spicier or not). My first introduction to SriPraPhai, was when an Irish colleague from three jobs ago irrevocably stated that we didn't know Thai food until we had eaten here. This is a hike if you live in manhattan. Which is why it took me this long to eat here. And even now, it was takeout. To begin from the moment that I thanked the seamless delivery person and opened the takeout bag, the packing deserves a call out. It was immaculate with cardboard separators between every layer of food containers, double bagged in a brown paper bag and plastic takeout bag, held together with a zip tie. I mean, the details! Since this was my first time with authentic Thai, I ordered a bunch of dishes that were both comfort and new. Comfort dishes like chicken pad thai, drunken noodles and papaya salad were good. Albeit a bit on the sweeter side for my liking. The new dish (for me) was the Rad Na, which was seriously amazing. It is a Thai style chicken curry where you dunk the noodles and accoutrements like raw red onions, cilantro and picked something, in the curry soup. Think of a thick katsu style curry with a hint of sweetness but all the flavor. There were two types of thin egg noodles, cooked and crispy. The crispy noodles when soaked in the curry sauce becomes an al dente style ramen noodle which can be slurped up. SriPraPai will be on my asian food takeout list of places but I will keep to their more authentic offerings than the American Thai dishes. read more

For those of you who say you should not go out of your way to eat this, I disagree. This Thai food is some of the tastiest, well priced, perfectly portioned food you will find outside of Manhattan. It is worth the adventure to get here, and it is an adventure, unless you live in Queens. The restaurant gets busy around lunchtime, and it is not surprising why. Your food comes out very quick and it all feels right because the portion and size of what you get is worth it. The Tom Yum soup is great without compromising integrity, and the Drunken Noodle is equal parts noodle, meat, and vegetable. Thankfully the garlic is not overwhelming, and the spice is reasonable as well. I would rate this a 6 or 7 based on the average spice scale. If that does not do it for you, get a Thai Iced Tea, which is so delicious as well. Not too heavy on the milk, but it has solid flavor. Save this for your entree, especially if you order something spicy. If not for the cash only deal, I would have ordered more. However, I guess it is a good thing it is cash only. It keeps you from overeating and also allows you to come back for more, later. In that case, I will be returning here for another adventure. read more
