Brewery #441 Last stop of my birthday brewery hop. The brewery was a standalone spot in like a shopping area like a McDonald's or an Applebee's would be. Walking up felt like a chain restaurant but walking in felt like the awesome brewery it was. It was about an hour before closing on a Sunday night so it wasn't very busy. I got my usual flight which at Hoptown consists of 4 beers and a water but since it was my birthday they gave me 5. Woohoooo. I got a wheat beer, a Hefe, a Kolsch, an IPA and a hazy pale ale. The beers were all solid, but the Flip Flops (hazy) was my favorite. We sat outside in their courtyard area overlooking an Ice cream shop. They played an eclectic mix of songs from country (blah) to "Walk the Dinosaur" by Was (Not Was). Fun place that makes the best of its suburbia location. read more

Drinks we had Los Top , IPA New England both very good. also tried the Disco kid & Wedding crasher not bad as well. They have a nice selection of beers, they also offer cocktails & food. Beer/drinks are pretty good, but the 10+ running and screaming children and horrible parenting among the patrons absolutely ruined the vibe. At one point kids turned on a water spigot on full blast and lost the key to turn it off, so a couple sitting nearby were practically soaked. I understand a "family friendly" environment, but this was straight up negligent parenting and made it so we will absolutely not be back. Keep in mind this was a Friday night around 9 pm. read more

We have visited HopTown Brewery a few times now since we moved to the area.Their selection of beers is fantastic, offering something for every palate. They even have craft cocktails,cider,mimosas, wine & Prosecco ! Staff is super friendly and always helpful. They have a variety of snacks for purchase, and a variety of food trucks that deliver to the brewery is a great touch. Daily events for everyone to enjoy. Spacious Taproom with outdoor seating available. Several TVs for watching games and a great assortment of playing games like Uno, Connect 4, and playing cards. Hoptown, a great spot with a fantastic patio area! It was busy, but the staff were very accommodating, especially when ordering a flightboard. Speaking of, loved the flight board here because they give you a sparkling water taster to cleanse your palate in-between beers (which is great because they have quite a selection)! It is my favorite local brewery for the On the Nines Lager, Sip it Forward Blonde (which includes a donation to a charity), and the many nonalcoholic beverages they have to quench my thirst every time. Whether I sit inside at a table, at the bar, or choose one of the many outdoor seating options, their staff always make sure I am being provided the best possible service. There's usually an event going on you can participate in and a local food truck parked nearby so your meal is taken care of. I just can't say enough about this fantastic overall level of experience. I seriously can't believe that I haven't reviewed Hoptown yet. My family and I have been going there pretty much since we moved here back in 2020 (Covid break notwithstanding) and it's one of our go-tos when I want to hit a brewery on the weekends (me, because wife doesn't drink and the kids are more than happy to play Minecraft on 3DS while we're there). The selection of beers is always stellar and whatever style you like - from lagers to IPAs to stouts and on and on - they'll have it on the board. I'd been struggling to find a coconut porter that I enjoyed as much as Kona's Koko Brown (which isn't even distributed around here) and boom, they had one - and I think I might like it even more. Never a bad beer from them. And the staff are the best, some of the most friendly beertenders I've had the pleasure to interact with. Ambiance-wise, I absolutely love it when they have Chive TV running on one of their TVs - pure entertainment for both me and my kids, whether it's goofy animals or hilarious fails. Easily one of Mooresville's best spots. And hey, if you want ice cream afterward for the kids, there's a Bruster's right next door too! read more

Hubby and I wanted a casual dinner out and decided to try Hoptown. The place has a cool rustic/industrial vibe, but lol we didn't know they don't serve food (only beer and other libations). Lucky for us, all was not lost! Hoptown had the most AMAZING food truck (see separate review for Wrap N Roll!) and free delivery from a couple of eateries. Stacey, the manager was so sweet and hospitable, and told us about the variety of fun events Hoptown hosts. Later, Sandy, the owner came over to welcome us, and mentioned they rent the space for private events too. Hubby enjoyed the chocolate ale and I had a Prosecco. We will definitely be back! read more

Nice selection of beers. We visited for the charity 4-miler they sponsored. The race was well coordinated and they did a great job hosting all the runners that morning. We came back Saturday evening for a beer and the live music. Ample free parking around the brewery. The staff is knowledgeable about their beers and will give you a taste before purchasing. No kitchen but they do have food trucks and a table for food delivery if you order something. If we are ever back in the area I would certainly stop by here again. read more

Had an interesting time here when the electricity went out, but the staff continued to serve and the place stayed chill. Great outdoor area. Friendly staff. And a fantastic 5 Mimosa flight, reasonably priced. My favorite was the Red, white, and Blue. Hubby liked the Front Porch with peach Kolsch. There are some food options, but we had just ate so we just had a drink It's a really friendly and fun brewery, and it's a three minute drive from the Days of Thunder barn! I've probably been to ~50 breweries in my life, and this ranks near the top. I've visited about a dozen times and each has been great. Staff are friendly (have never been able to confirm, but I have a hunch the owner frequently masquerades as a server), they offer a diverse set of good to great beers, and their rotating food trucks are choice. Self serve water station, patio + turf and doggie bag stations and more than enough parking in the area make it an easy choice anytime I want a beer. Glad it's local! read more

first friday at the new job is in the book and I have neither been commended nor reprimanded so it's a push. to mark the day I stopped for a sip and a nibble on the way home. yea for good friday!? got a seat at the bar to test tastes and wound up with the Wedding Crasher west coast IPA and a dish of 'cheese please bar mix'. plenty of preservation in the IPA which is flattening everything else in the glass, on the other hand it's neither hazy or crazy just a little hoppy and slightly left of center. lots of people moving past and going by the banter most are more regular than otherwise; bowing to current trends well mannered fuzz butts and such are welcome in the backyard, same for little people but also inside where the definition of acceptable behavioral feels a bit looser as well... the situation is pretty normal inside with an assortment of hi- and low tops besides the bar and when the weather is agreeable the patio is available for imbibery. overhead was absent until after 5:00 and then it didn't match any of the TV's at first which would have confused things if anyone was paying attention which they weren't. overall it seems a friendly place with more than a tangential connection to the neighborhood... it's just not my neighborhood. read more

Service was welcoming and friendly. We each had flights, and none that we had were disappointing, in fact they were all really good. We sat at a table outdoors with our flight and one of the servers from behind the bar suggested we order from a take out menu and they'd handle delivery when it arrived and bring it out. We did that and the pizza was really good. It was nice of them to suggest this and were friendly and attentive e the whole time we were there. We had out-of-state family staying with us and decided to take them here because it's a place we always wanted to try. Plenty of inside seating and heaters were provided for those sitting outside. I noticed some customers with dogs and realized it was a dog-friendly place and I liked that. Beer on tap, wine is also served and 2 food trucks outside. We started with a couple of beer flights but I enjoyed the white wine. We ate from both food trucks one served different grilled cheese sandwiches the other jambalaya....both were delicious! Employees checked in on us periodically so we never had to go to the bar for more drinks. I was surprised that this brewery had over 100 reviews on google but only a handful on Yelp. Normally minimal reviews on Yelp would deter me but my husband and I decided to give this place a try anyways. This brewery has a lot going for it! I personally go to breweries since I love beer but I loved seeing that they also offered Prosecco, mimosas, seltzer and cider. It makes it a place where really anyone can find something! They don't have food (outside of some snacks) but have a partnership with Cantina 1511 and Brooklyn Boys Pizza which was super easy and quick! My flight of beers was great too. I would say the top two were Grindstone and Sip It Forward. Lastly the place is just overall great aesthetically. Love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. And the decor and vibe is a modern take but very bright and upbeat. Don't let the minimal numbers of reviews worry you .. definitely stop by! read more

Recently moved to LKN area, spending summer here. One of the first breweries I've been to in the area (will try many) but was happily surprised. Business just opened a few months ago, all the staff is nice and helpful. I will say, I've been on a Tuesday night and Saturday night and both days were busy. Expect to wait a bit during busy weekend hours or dinner hours during the week. If you look at my past reviews, I don't give 5 stars often so this brewery really is great. Food: Hoptown doesn't serve food directly, but they've partnered with a local pizzeria who delivers directly to the restaurant using a QR code. They deliver full pizzas and appetizers, had both times I've gone, pretty quick (30-40 minutes from order to delivery). Pizza pretty good, above average bar food. Drinks: Beer is quite good, they have about 6-8 on tap options (they're a brand new brewery, they're facing shortages because they didn't expect to blow up like they have), and they also have rotating beer on tap from additional breweries. There is also wine and seltzer options available. One of their premier beers has a cause associated with the purchase, for each purchase you get a "donation token" which you get to choose between 4 different causes (token is worth a $1 donation). Overall, I've had about 6 of the beers. 2 or 3 of them were well above average, happy overall with the selection. Ambiance: The main "tap room" has good seating, TVs playing sports and an open space to stand around and drink. They have an awesome outdoor area, plenty of dogs and space between each table and great for summer dining. Overall: This place in my opinion is well above average, especially for breweries. I will likely be here at least once every other week, if not more often. Great place to bring your friends, your dog, or a group of people to hang out and drink. read more

Wow! What a great addition to the Mooresville area! It was our first time and we were greeted with smiles and a very warm welcome by the friendly staff and owners. I had a pineapple cider with coconut water ice cubes and fresh pineapple and my husband had a flight of 4 beers and a small glass of water that came in a custom made wooden holder. All were delicious! They offer food from a local pizza place and charcuterie from another local place. The setup is amazingly beautiful and well set up with COVID precautions in place. QR code menus. The interior is well done, modern, clean as a whistle, and very cute plants and decor. The bar has outlets and hooks for when they can have stools again. The outside is great! Big fans, pull down shades, and a louvered ceiling will allow shelter from hot NC sun. Tons of seating and a great stage area for live music. Great selection of merchandise and a charitable donation program with cute chips. Everyone was so friendly!Check out if you can! read more

Our Lake Norman Pickleball Association recently had our winter Social here. Everything was perfect from the setup to the staff as well as the owners. Scott and and Sandy Plemmons, the owners, are amazing, friendly, helpful, and well organized. Our event went off without a hitch and we had beautiful weather so had the entire outside patio with cornhole and plenty of sun. We couldn't have been happier. Their beer selection is a joke. They have no good quality beers. They mask all their beers with fruits and other flavors. No top quality pilsners, lagers, or ambers. I can't even imagine them trying to make a good German beer. Do yourself a favor and go down the street. I've been waiting to get there to try their beers. Can't tell you how disappointed I was with my first visit. I guess if you're a yuppie you'll like it cause you don't know any better. Yuck! read more
