Decent coffee and breakfast, but I've had tastier. Menu was fairly broad, including a fried steak with gravy and hash browns, and coffee wasn't bad. Overall, I would eat here again if staying at the hotel, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Service was friendly but a bit slow, and the drop ceiling, recessed lights, and white walls gave it a very office conference room vibe.

Wings and ahi tuna salad appetizers

After a day of hiking and pre-wedding family meet and greet, a comfortable dinner was just what I needed. I was hungry but didn't really feel like a full meal. I ordered a couple of the appetizers, wings and ahi tuna salad. The wings were very good not too spicy, just right. With the thick sauce it stuck to the wings even after a dunk in the ranch sauce. The ahi tuna was very good having a spicy crust that made me live it more.

This is a review for the restaurant and not the detached bar on the other side of the building. Overall, it's a nice place that feels like it's a bit in the middle of nowhere. The times I have come here, this place was empty. Usually that's not a good sign, but in this case, just enjoy the extra peace and quiet. The restaurant retains that freshly-renovated look and service has been consistently excellent. The couple of times I've been here I really enjoyed their bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and sausage, the calamari, and the classic meatloaf. For the most part, the food really hits it out of the park, but they seem to have one herpy-derpy chef that messes up some part of the meal. For example, the Jack Daniels dipping sauce with the two-way pork was atrocious to an otherwise flawless preparation. Another day the meals were great except the crème brûlée was a disastrous let-down. If the owners would hunt down and fire the saboteur in their midst, this place would be a 5 star hit. Food: 4 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5 Value: 3 TL;DR: Great hotel restaurant

    Flat iron steak.... Wow
    Martin F.

they had me at wine, balsamic, cherry reduction.... They delivered, the steak was terrific, ironically I felt it was a good thing that the asparagus was overcooked and mushy, no guilt to leave it on the plate, more room for the steak and the nicely done mashed potatoes. Did I mention the basalmic reduction? Oh my... Oh my. I ordered the flat steak medium and it was cooked to a perfect medium. My wife had the rigatoni and really appreciated the symphony of flavors including hazelnuts, cranberries and spinach. The yelp deal got me in the door, the food will bring us back. I have no problem with Five stars for the food, but having to pay extra for a salad and no table cloths for a $50 meal makes it tough to justify. The mushy asparagus made it no contest. We are eager to try the bar fare at happy hour and will keep this place on the list of places for special occasions. The fact that a place attached to a holiday inn can serve up this quality of grub shatters my stereotypes of restaurants attached to mid class hotels. By the way, I should shout out to the service... To notch, good sense of humor, attentive but not intrusive....

From the moment I entered the new Boone Town Bistro and Bar I was immediately greeted and welcomed by the staff and the new modern and comfortable decor with a relaxed atmosphere and spacious seating areas. Just what I needed! What also caught my eye was a few select desserts in their display case that simply intrigued me. They looked delicious. I was also impressed to find a nice assortment of entrees, burgers, sandwiches and pastas to choose from, all of which made it hard to choose from since they all sounded very good to me. We had a large group of us dine in the restaurant so I was able to see a good sampling of many of these offerings first hand and simply put, the menu and items selected by our group were enjoyed by all. From fresh salads like the Romaine Caesar, gourmet burgers, fish & chips, Cuban style sandwich, this hearty and delicious looking Mac n Cheese and my own choice, a succulent salmon salad which I thoroughly enjoyed to several unique and inspiring dessert options to make you think twice about saving room for them, the dining experience was quite simply fantastic and our group agreed. If you haven't been to Boone Town Bistro & Bar I would strongly recommend it. Fantastic food, terrific menu and prompt service.

We have always been fans of the McMenamins family of restaurants, hotels, and bars. After living in…read morethe Pacific Northwest for many years, we had the chance to visit quite a few of their locations and have always admired their unique approach to hospitality. One of the things we appreciate most is how McMenamins thoughtfully rehabilitates historic properties, preserving their character while giving them new life as welcoming places to gather. Each location seems to have its own personality and story, which makes visiting them feel special. Today, we had the opportunity to stop by this location, which we had not visited before. We were only planning to grab a quick lunch/dinner and get back on the road, so we didn't explore the property or dive into its history on this visit, but it's clearly a place worth spending more time at in the future. For our meal, my wife ordered a salad, I ordered a pizza, and we shared a side of Cajun tots with their housemade Ranch. Everything was enjoyable and hit the spot for a casual, satisfying stop. We'd happily return when we have more time to take in the full experience. A few things we've noticed over the years from our experiences with McMenamins: Many of their establishments introduce you to pieces of history you never really knew existed. There's often a surprising depth to the stories behind the properties, and even a quick visit can leave you wanting to learn more. Their beer can be very tasty and original, with a variety of offerings that feel thoughtfully crafted and true to their brand. As for the food, it generally lands in the realm of upscale bar fare, or perhaps bar food that wants to be upscale. Most menus are fairly similar from location to location. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and enjoyable; it just sometimes feels like it's presenting itself as something a bit more elevated than it actually is. The pricing tends to follow that same pattern, occasionally feeling a bit ambitious for what's being served. Service can be great, but it can also be hit or miss, and it's wise to be prepared to wait a little longer than expected at times. That said, the atmosphere and grounds at many of their locations are truly outstanding. You can wander the properties for quite a while at many of their locations and still not see everything. The level of detail throughout, both inside and out, is often absolutely amazing and is what really sets McMenamins apart.

I order the same burger every visit, and this time it was cooked perfectly--hot, juicy, and delicious. It was a much more enjoyable experience all around, and I'm happy to see such an improvement. I'll definitely be back

Just an FYI, because this place gets busy they request you limit your visit to 1.5 hours. Now the menu. It is vast and everything sounded so good. Between the pastries, the yummy drinks, and the menu items, I had a hard time picking. I went with a muffin and a latte. The blueberry lemon muffin was large and so tasty. I ordered a plain latte to get a baseline on the coffee making skills. It was pretty good. I'll have to try one of the seasonal drinks next time I go. This place is small. Tables are close together. I could hear everyone's business. So keep that in mind. I am going to return when I have a bit more time. Probably a bit earlier in the morning to make sure I can get a table.
