This little restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn and was very convenient for us when we stayed there. Although it seemed understaffed with just one guy doing literally everything from manning the bar, taking orders and serving food as well as bussing the tables, it was not too bad because the place only ever had 2 or 3 tables going at any given time. We ended up eating there twice during our stay, and both times I enjoyed what I ordered. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was very nice and healthy, and my meatloaf dinner was tasty and like a comforting home cooked meal. I'd eat there again! read more

We are passing through and after a golf day we found Boonetown. Sitting in there we had no idea it was part of the hotel. We met Leo at the bar and he really knew what he was doing! He was extremely busy but did a great job covering everything & everyone! Gave us suggestions for food and made a very good Passion Fruit Martini. We split the food and enjoyed the fish & chips plus Mac n Cheese. So good! After being gone for softball all day we thought, let's go back! Great decision! Armando at the Bar made a wonderful Lemon Drop from scratch and it was so good, I had 2! We ordered the Meatloaf special to split but before dinner we enjoyed Buffalo Cauliflower bites. This was a perfect spot because I just had to walk to the other side of the hotel. Armando is a great bartender with fantastic customer service and decades of experience. The atmosphere is clean and friendly with a nice pool table as well as outdoor seating. The food was delightful but definitely not fancy, I'd say more in line with a dive bar menu. Started out sat down and took about 10 minutes before I was approached after being looked at by the staff of two numerous times and only about half a dozen people I the bar..... ordered food or something similar.... We always have great time at Boones Junction. Kinda like "Cheers." The bartenders know your name and your usual choice of beverage. You can get hand shakes or hugs from most other customers that know your name too. The drinks are terrific and the pizza is the best around W-ville. My favorite is the Hawaiian pizza with Parmesan and red peppers added. There's a daily special on weekdays so check the board. I've also tried the French Dip, Club sandwich and the Bacon cheeseburger where you can smell the bacon outside!! The juke box is usually on where you can hear the music inside or outside. karaoke is on Friday and Saturday nights. This is a review for the restaurant and not the detached bar on the other side of the building. Overall, it's a nice place that feels like it's a bit in the middle of nowhere. The times I have come here, this place was empty. Usually that's not a good sign, but in this case, just enjoy the extra peace and quiet. The restaurant retains that freshly-renovated look and service has been consistently excellent. The couple of times I've been here I really enjoyed their bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and sausage, the calamari, and the classic meatloaf. For the most part, the food really hits it out of the park, but they seem to have one herpy-derpy chef that messes up some part of the meal. For example, the Jack Daniels dipping sauce with the two-way pork was atrocious to an otherwise flawless preparation. Another day the meals were great except the crème brûlée was a disastrous let-down. If the owners would hunt down and fire the saboteur in their midst, this place would be a 5 star hit. They delivered, the steak was terrific, ironically I felt it was a good thing that the asparagus was overcooked and mushy, no guilt to leave it on the plate, more room for the steak and the nicely done mashed potatoes. Did I mention the basalmic reduction? Oh my... Oh my. I ordered the flat steak medium and it was cooked to a perfect medium. My wife had the rigatoni and really appreciated the symphony of flavors including hazelnuts, cranberries and spinach. The yelp deal got me in the door, the food will bring us back. I have no problem with Five stars for the food, but having to pay extra for a salad and no table cloths for a $50 meal makes it tough to justify. The mushy asparagus made it no contest. We are eager to try the bar fare at happy hour and will keep this place on the list of places for special occasions. From the moment I entered the new Boone Town Bistro and Bar I was immediately greeted and welcomed by the staff and the new modern and comfortable decor with a relaxed atmosphere and spacious seating areas. Just what I needed! What also caught my eye was a few select desserts in their display case that simply intrigued me. They looked delicious. I was also impressed to find a nice assortment of entrees, burgers, sandwiches and pastas to choose from, all of which made it hard to choose from since they all sounded very good to me. We had a large group of us dine in the restaurant so I was able to see a good sampling of many of these offerings first hand and simply put, the menu and items selected by our group were enjoyed by all. From fresh salads like the Romaine Caesar, gourmet burgers, fish & chips, Cuban style sandwich, this hearty and delicious looking Mac n Cheese and my own choice, a succulent salmon salad which I thoroughly enjoyed to several unique and inspiring dessert options to make you think twice about saving room for them, the dining experience was quite simply fantastic and our group agreed. I was here three nights for a conference and as usual, hung out in the hotel bar to see colleagues and talk shop. The array of beers on tap, the great bartenders, servers and atmosphere were surprisingly GREAT! The food- three dinners- was very good. I had the Reuben, the steak dinner and the Southwestern burger over the course of three evenings. I am not an easy one to please. I'm not a jerk, I just feel that if you're going to do something, you should do it right. These guys were attentive, fast, and super-friendly. There are a crew of regulars that have "discovered" this gem and keep things fun and lively. Trina- well, you just have to come in and meet her. You'll want to take her home with you to keep spirits up and REAL. The other staff were all great as well. Prices are at or below what you would be happy with, if you've been around, and there are options that are cheaper and still just as well prepared. Apparently, the kitchen staff revamped the menu some months ago, so if Trina isn't enough to keep you coming back, the food certainly is. Traveling up or down the I-5? I'm sure there are plenty of choices that are tasty and served with a smile, but why gamble your money? Pull into the Holiday Inn parking lot and experience it for yourself. It's not a gastropub or a "fusion" restaurant, but the menu items are surprisingly unique, while remaining true to their origins. The hotel is pretty good, too. False advertising! I should have turned around when the odor of cigarette smoke greeted me when I opened the door. However, I chose to give the place a chance as it was close to my hotel and past reviews were decent. I ordered the fish and chips which were advertised as "classic filets fried in Hop Valley Beer batter served with sweet onion tarter sauce, fries & coleslaw". When my order arrived in just a few minutes I knew something was up. Sure enough, the filets, fries, and coleslaw looked like they had just come out of a bag before being prepared. The filets were thin and a uniform shape. The batter was obviously not made with beer, premium or otherwise. The coleslaw was bland and rubbery. The fries were oversalted. The tarter sauce was definitely not made with sweet onion and was likely squeezed out of a bottle into the plastic serving cup. One of the worst restaurant meals I've ever had. I won't be back, which is unfortunate since my company is building a new headquarters a couple of miles away. I wish I'd taken the attached photo before I started on the meal, but you'll get the picture. Beware, fellow Yelpers. You'd get a better meal at the Arby's next door. read more

It was okay, just stopped in for a beer with my golf companions on the way home. This used to be a hopin' nightclub back when - Think I was a bit too young, but heard it was a hot spot called Flirts. The hotel was under some construction but we found our way in - The lounge/restaurant was moderately busy and they had some nice beers on tap and the TVs turned to College Football. There were 3 of us and three bar stools available just not all together - one spot had a half drunk bottled beer with a coaster on top of it - we appeared interested in possibly sitting here if the bartender would have the the awareness and hospitality to move the patron down one. It was a single patron away, using the facilities. Nope, no offer to make three seats available together. Either on purpose (although, why?) or completely clueless. So, we sat at a table in the back - and yeah, it wasn't the most fun place, but sitting at the bar would've just been better - we had our beer, chatted, people watched, and looked at a little football. Not impressed with this resturant. We were guests at the hotel and realized we had not had dinner yet. So we went to the bar to have some dinner. The bar menu looked good. So we ordered a quesdilla and a hummus plate. My husband ordered a spanish coffee, which was lukewarm. The 2nd drink was brought out ice cold (this should be served hot). When the food came out they only served my husbands quesadilla. After he had finished his food my food had still not come. Twenty minutes had passed at this point. We asked the waitress where my food was and she said the kitchen was really busy. We understand that since we have both worked in food service at some point in our life, but you always serve the table together. At this point she said do you want to wait, cancel your order or close out your bill? Her attitude was awful and not customer service focused in any way. Alright, I'm gonna admit that I'm prematurely writing this review. I just had dinner here for the first time; had the prime rib dip sandwich and hubby had the prime rib dinner and finished with creme brulee. Look, this is a diner/budget hotel restaurant. It's not fancy or gourmet. But the prime rib really hit the spot and was perfectly done. Sides were good, too (wedge salad, asparagus, mashed potato, fries). I was very pleasantly surprised. I had 2 Spanish coffees--yum! Not for the faint of heart; best $8 warm cocktail ever. Service was very attentive. I don't live far away, so next time I'm starving and don't want to cook, this could be my go-to.
