Not sure what all the hype is about for this place! We ordered Thai fried rice, green curry and fish cakes. Fish cakes were small and perfectly uniform - almost like they were frozen rather than prepared on site. Green curry had some spice but was mostly one note, there just wasn't much depth of flavor. Vegetables were all cut in huge hunks - both dishes had giant pieces of red bell peppers and onions. Fried rice was pretty bland and barely had any Chinese broccoli in it. Ambiance was bare bones - you order at the counter and they bring you your food and plastic side plates. Half the tables were stacked with boxes and bags of takeout orders. To top it off there's no bathroom, we were told to use the bathroom at another local business. If I'm gonna spend $60 somewhere, I expect to be able to wash my hands before eating and use the restroom. Perhaps there are some specialty dishes that we didn't try but this was my 2nd time ordering from here (I got take out once before) and both times the food was pretty bland. A new Thai find in this area. The market (2 shelves & 2 refrigerators) sells Thai goods at reasonable prices, and there are tables to sit & enjoy a meal. There's basically one lady running the front. She's on top of things and quite friendly. We enjoyed all the food that we tried. So good, especially the moo honk (stewed pork) and the pad horapa (basil minced chicken). We especially appreciated that we could ask for different levels of spiciness. So good. We will definitely come again when we're in the area. read more

Possibly my favorite Thai restaurant in Mass. They carry dishes that aren't commonly available at most Thai places and everything here hits the spot. I have gotten dinner here multiple times (thinking about more than 10 times at this point) and it's been great every time. The restaurant is quite small with about 5 tables, so during the colder months, you will probably have to wait for a table if you are not doing takeout. During the warmer months, there is seating outside! Plenty of parking in the area. My most recent visit was great. I got the usual Wings Zab and my partner got Satay noodles and chicken cutlet. It was our first time getting the satay noodles and the chicken but they were both great. I always get the Wings Zabb because the wings are crispy and tangy and very flavorful. This place does a lot of take out and has very little capacity for eating in, but when we were there it wasn't crowded. They also sell Asian canned goods and supplies. The broccoli was raw instead of being cooked properly. This poses a potential risk for salmonella. The siu mai was listed as homemade with shrimp and chicken but the filling seemed to be held together with some sort of rubbery gelatin. The wings zab was too spicy for me to eat but they refused to take it off the bill as most restaurants would. They saved themselves $7 but lost a future customer. read more

Boom!! That hit the spot! Decided to try this place for dinner on a Monday night and it was surprisingly bustling! The restaurant is small with only a few tables along one side and grocery items along the other. If you're dining in, you can have a seat while you decide what to order and when you are ready you order and pay at the counter. While we decided there were many people coming in for pick up orders. My bf and I decided to share a fish cake special appetizer and he went with their Khao soi and I got the satay spicy noodles topped with tofu. The fish cake appetizer was very yummy. It came with a little spicy dipping sauce that I finished because it was very good. The satay noodles were also very good. The noodles were cooked perfectly and they were topped with plenty of peanut sauce and peanut pieces. The tofu was sliced into big chunks and made the dish very good. The star of the night was the Khao soi! The broth was super rich and it was packed with tons of flavor. I kept stealing the spoon from my boyfriend's bowl to sip up the broth. He did let me have a couple of bites of his khaki soi which was nice. We were pleasantly surprised how yummy and fresh everything tasted and can't wait to come back! Big fan of this place. The portions are solids. Delicious and diverse flavors. Kao Soi - packed full of noodles and other ingredients. I ended up only eating half the broth with it all so I'm making my own version with what's left of the broth. The broth is so thick and flavorful. This place is such a hidden gem and I want them to get the recognition they deserve, but selfishly I also don't want it to get even harder to find a seat in the already small restaurant. My friends and I went and got almost everything on the menu, and all of it was fantastic. The ladies who work there are incredibly kind, they make you feel at home and I saw that they remembered so many regulars' names that picked up to-go orders. The location is out of the way for me, but well worth it. Small family owned business. Boonnoon is a local treasure. A small storefront with maybe 3 tables inside and another 3 outside. You're greeted like family. My son recommended we order takeout for our final night in the area. On their recommendation, I went with goyza & shumi-two styles of dumplings. We went with steamed, but you can also get them fried. My wife was a bit under the weather, so we ordered Kai Tom, a rice soup with chicken. Spicy Satay Noodles were tame, by request, but flavorful and not at all greasy like so many other Thai restaurants. Pas See You with beef was another delicious noodle dish. And finally, Kao Sol Chicken. I'd be lying if I said I knew the differences. But each dish had a light flavor, clearly different from another. All were tasty. Servings were ample. This place is a hidden gem! We came here on a Sunday evening around 6:15 and were seated promptly. There are about 5 two seater tables available. It's also a market so you can buy some Thai staples as well such as various Lays flavors. It's got a great vibe and the smells are heavenly. We put in our order and the food started coming out in a reasonable amount of time given how busy they were with takeout orders. The highlights were the sweet taro pastry puffs, lox rangoon, chicken satay, banana fritters, and the pad horapa! This place is easily one of the two tastiest meals I've had in the last year. Really enjoyed our meal here. Not sure if it's on the menu all the time, but I loved the Moo Honk! that I got (added egg noodles to it). The meat was very tender, some of it enough to fall apart as I picked it up. We shared the shrimp donuts that were good as well and definitely with getting again. The staff was super friendly! This place is great! I ordered from here a couple weeks ago after spending a lot of time unpacking my new apartment. I called to order because it was getting close to the time that they closed and wanted to make sure that I didn't miss the window to order food, this was no problem for them. In fact, the woman who answered the phone was extremely friendly. About 20 minutes later, when I arrived to pick up my food, I was greeted warmly with a smile. I chatted with the woman as I paid for my food, and she welcomed me to the area. When I home I devoured their delicious karee puffs, so good! The green curry is some of the best I've had, very flavorful, and they do not skimp on the veggies and eggplant. This is the greatest Thai place I've ever been. They serve even better foods than I had in Thailand! The price is extremely reasonable and their service is top notch, always greeting customers with I have not dined in yet as the dinning area is pretty small but this place became our favorite place to do takeout from! It is also plus that they have so many vegetarian and vegan options. Who knew vegetarian dishes would be this delicious?! The plates I recommend to get: Limon (tofu), Kao Soi (veggie, tofu, or chicken, they are all great!), Scallion pancake (different from user ones, thick triangular shape), Spicy Satay noodles. You could go with plain Pad Thai but I wanna persuade you to try authentic Thai dishes here! Pretty limited amount of indoor seating so max group size would be 4. They do have some outdoor tables for when it gets warmer. I got the Kao Pad Rod Fai with chicken (Old school Thai Railway Fried Rice. Berry Rice with egg, Chinese broccoli, tomato, onion, cilantro, scallion, garlic, cucumber, lime). This ended up tasting like a good fried rice. Which isn't necessarily bad... I think I was just hoping for some more unique underlying flavors. I liked that the chicken they add is super tender and sliced thin. My sister for the green curry with noodles and loved it. The curry flavor was really rich and flavorful. I went there last Monday during the Boston Marathon day. The place is literal hole in the wall with very small selection of Thai food for sale. I could see about 4 tables for 2 people and some picnic style benches on the outside. I ordered the Satay noodles with Tofu (+$4 for tofu ) and Chicken satay. Chicken satay is reason i am not giving it 5 star since the taste was good but the chicken was not properly pounder and nice and tender. it was little chewy for some reason and really big uneven pieces. The satay noodles were amazing and it was my first time having it . absolutely loved the peanut sauce and the fried garlic they put on it. They actually served me outside so that was nice. Overall the food was def nice and tasty and i would def love to go again and try some other items as well. read more

I think I've found a new favorite Thai place! I've only tried Boonnoon once for takeout, but I was very impressed with their street food options. I ate possibly the best pad Thai I've had in years, with that on point noodle chewiness, great tangy-sweet balance, and large juicy pieces of shrimp. I don't often get pad Thai these days since it's often too sweet or too bland, but I would order this again in a heartbeat. Most of the 5 stars come from this single dish. Malaysian friends and the Tall Man enjoyed the intense flavor of the Kao Soi (a northern curry soup-ish noodle dish), but found the curry sauce to be a bit too thick and rich to enjoy through the end. But the fried wings were a crowd pleaser, especially for the little ones. We got a mango sticky rice dessert to share. It came with perfectly cooked purple rice and rounded out our meal nicely, even though it was a bit pricier than I would usually pay for this dessert. read more

Really flavorful food and very friendly service - this place is now my new go-to Thai spot. I haven't been able to find Thai food this good since living in the PNW - the quality of the noodles and all the flavors are *chef's kiss*. I put in an online order through their site for Spicy Satay Noodles with Chicken and a Karee Puff (potato) around 11:45am. It was ready for pick-up about a half hr later, which I thought was reasonable given it was peak lunch time. When I went in for pick-up I was greeted warmly by a very friendly woman with a big smile and my bag was right there, ready to go. I didn't poke around the space much, but it was clean with several dining tables and some Asian grocery items that I'll check out next time. Once I got home I dug immediately into the noodles. The peanuty satay sauce had a nice heat and touch of sweetness. They put on just the right amount to coat the noodles and chicken, but not drown them. And the noodles were perfect, they were fresh and had a bit of chew, and were not mushy at all. I couldn't believe this bowl was only $10! I'm going to gain like 10 lbs in noodles with this added to my ramen and pho habit. The Karee puff was also very tasty - I found the shell to be a bit denser and doughier than I expected, but the filling had great flavor, it reminded me of a slightly sweeter vegetable samosa.
