Tonight my mom friends and I had a night out at Noodle Market. It's not the typical trendy spot for a ladies night out but it was perfect for a frigid evening when you just want to wear comfy clothes, be warm, and not stray far from home. One friend is a regular and she got her usual entree with a bunch of substitutions to accommodate her food intolerances (poor thing!), and the staff was very kind as usual. Another friend got the duck which is her favorite dish (she was happy with it!). I got spicy green beans and chicken and it was very flavorful and just the perfect level of spicy for me. Two of us ordered the hot sake (it's in the teens today!). The hot sake is actually a nicer brand than you sometimes get. It had a nice clean finish and maybe went down a little too easily! The best part about our dinner was that the staff let us stay and chat for hours without rushing us out. It was not a crowded evening being so cold but it was a very pleasant experience. My family has been coming to noodle market since we first bought our home in town in 2018. It's our go to place for pho when someone is sick. It doesn't have the most flavorful broth I've ever had but it is always fresh so we keep ordering it. Noodle craving on a cold day, so I checked this place out for lunch on a whim while running an errand. It's cute and colorful with warm vibes. I was seated very promptly and had my order taken by a friendly server. The pho dac biet was okay, the broth was kind of lacking in depth and aromatics...but we are in Arlington, not the Dot or Quincy. The thing that put me off was the rare beef was a bit sour, so I fished it to the side and avoided it. My husband and I I have been eating at Noodle Market for years, and have never been disappointed. The food is hot, lightning fast, and delicious, and it is close to the cheapest meal you can get in Arlington. With two entrees, 2 appetizers, and 3 drinks, today's lunch came to less than $60 pre-tip. Service is friendly and very fast - they are always very attentive. They aren't the most authentic preparations of the various dishes, so if that matters to you, you may be disappointed. But they are tasty and always leave me full and contented. As a matter of common courtesy, restaurant staff should tell you if they're not going to honor a substitute (replace chicken with tofu). We picked up take-out that we ordered online, thinking that when we arrived home we'd get to eat the food that we ordered. The rest was just lettuce and audacity. The fried rice was mid, but the raw tomato?? Be fr. That's not a garnish that's a hate crime. Thai tea was the only slay. Main pro of this place is location: right in the middle of Arlington, for times when you're just not up for a drive down usually-clogged I-93 to Chinatown (where parking is scarce) or Dorchester (more parking just twice as far) for more authentic Asian food. It doesn't compare with those two relative meccas (at least for New England) of more decent (not exactly Westminster, CA or Houston, TX level) Asian food, but is at least a decent alternative to sad sack fast-food Chinese places or overpriced yuppy-trap "Asian" places that abound out here in the 'burbs of Boston. Pros: very pleasant/cozy ambiance, and fast, friendly and attentive servers. More authentic Asian places often lack that, esp. the second. Portion sizes are decent not tiny yuppy-boutique type places where you're paying for pretty presentation rather than a filling meal. Prices are higher than in Chinatown and Dorchester, but not exorbitant for the area. Cons: the food is a bit on the sweet/bland side, probably to cater to the predominantly WASPish local clientele as opposed to a predominantly Asian one. We found this to be most noticeable in the broth for the pho and Tom Yum noodle soups, which were competent though lacking in flavor complexity. Upside is that they clearly do not abuse MSG here, if at all. read more

My husband and I regularly go there -- probably weekly. Regular orders are Pho Ga, drunken or garlic udon noodle, shrimp-rice, and a couple other dishes. We also enjoy the dumplings, crispy rolls and Rangoon. Chicken in Pho sometimes is a bit dry but the broth, noodles, basil etc. are perfect IMO. Service is great. Servers are very nice and attentive. Nice ambiance. Very friendly staff. Quick and attentive service. Many options on the menu for everyone. We ordered 3 apps and 3 noodle dishes. All were good! Edamame perfectly salted and steaming hot. Potstickers were reportedly good, but not hot (temp-wise) enough. Chicken satay was reported to have good flavor and appeared plentiful. Hubby's pad thai was reported as very good, great flavor and the noodles lighter than what he's had in other establishments- which is a good thing, not leaving feeling too stuffed. Mom's drunken noodle was fine, she says...but she said it was more a fusion and not authentic enough for her taste. Still good though! My pho ga hit the spot perfectly. Chilly and windy afternoon was remedied with very hot and fresh pho. Too much chicken, but that is not a complaint for others I imagine! I couldn't finish mine, but brought leftovers home for dinner later that night. I would recommend this establishment if you're looking for some basic asian cuisine...fusion-esque . I ordered from Noodle Market on UberEats. I got the Grilled Beef Vermicelli Bowl and thought it was fairly tasty, but I've had better. The meat itself didn't have as much flavor as I would prefer, but the vinegar it came with helped to spice it up. My favorite lunch spot in the Arlington area! Such delicious, comforting, food for a great price. Service is fantastic- they are so nice, and they take care in preparing the order to your liking if you indicate any specifications. The massaman curry, with fried tofu, is my favorite- warm flavored coconut curry sauce with potato, and fluffy rice on the side. Very bad service. First, Asked for beef to substitute chicken in my dish. But the food still came out with chicken and no beef. Then, Our toddler dropped food on the floor and the waitress asked us to clean the floor. She said her job is only to clean the table. I asked if a customer accidentally spill food onto the floor and if she'd ask them to clean. She was silent first and then still try to argue we should clean the floor. We cleaned the floor. The food here is excellent. If you have a child with diapers, do not come here. The bathrooms have no changing station and have no surface inside to safely change a child, despite having sufficient room for a changing station. When we asked if we could change the child on the tables or the floor in the dining area (it was lunch and there was only one other customer in the room) we were refused and were told everyone else changed their child in the bathroom. No idea how anyone else accomplished that without using the bathroom floor. read more

Very inauthentic and mediocre Thai and Vietnamese food. I don't frequent this place, but it's slightly cheaper than Thai Moon especially for dinner price so I thought I'd try their Drunken Noodles. I first checked their menu online, which annoyingly makes you download the PDF automatically. I called to place the takeout order to which a lady answered but put me on hold because "we are very busy right now". She actually didn't put me on a normal hold where you hear cheesy elevator music, but it seemed she just left the phone receiver on the counter since I could hear her distantly telling a customer how much to pay for his order. Then she started chatting with a coworker in X language. I waited a good 5+ minutes before I tried saying, "HELLO??". A man answered the phone and finally took my order. He told me it would take 10 minutes. I arrive at the restaurant which completely barren and has literally 1 customer dining in. I don't get why they said they were busy. I go to pick up my order from the counter, and the takeout bag feels very light. I come back home, open the bag and find the takeout container is not filled to the top. In fact, the rice noodles & some veggies thrown in were sparse and warm-- Not wok-fried or served hot. It's NOTHING like the drunken noodles, or Pad Kee Mao, I've had before. Zero spice. The rice noodles were not even cooked all the way and had a bite like the hard refrigerated ones I've bought from Hong Kong/88 Market. The carrots didn't look fresh or peeled. I assume the chef just tossed some oyster/hoisin sauce to "season" the noodles and called it a day. Probably closer to Chinese he fen than Thai. Seriously disappointing and not even worth my money. Close to $12 for a measly meal that I had to supplement with rice from home for it to be filling. DON'T recommend. (P.S. For Viet, I've tried their pho and it was super watery. No bueno) read more

DELICIOUS Stopped here for dinner on Friday. The pad thai was almost perfect - saucy with so much flavor. I like my noodles a little wider, but that is just a personal preference. My friend's soup smelled really good - lots of coconut. The service here is top notch. The prices are super reasonable. I think the secret to especially tasty noodle dishes is to eat them when they have just finished cooking. Delivery still produces excellent dishes however. Do not order anything fried. They must have repeatedly used the same dirty and stinky cooking oil so everything fried tastes the same and browned, smelly. The same cooking oil is used for pad Thai, greasy and smelly. Pho pac biet, not much beef but great soup and tender beef. read more

The atmosphere is clean and contemporary. The staff is friendly, polite and professional. I've been there twice and will definitely return. My first trip was late night apps after singing karaoke elsewhere. The crab Rangoon and chicken satay were delicious. My second trip was lunch. I ordered Pho Tom, a noodle soup with shrimp. Fresh bean sprouts, basil leaf and lime wedge were on the side to add as you chose. The broth was delicious and the medium sized shrimp were plentiful. Check out to their menu, you'll find something you like. The glass of Pinot Grigio I enjoyed was crisp and tasty. It would never be described as sour or sweet. Good Thai and Viet options. The tofu fresh rolls, pot stickers, and chicken satay are all very good. The grapow chicken was good the first couple times but this last time was too ?sweet...? which was a little weird. I assume they used a sweetened soy sauce either in error or in excess. It wasn't like that the first couple times though. Most recently we did a Covid 19, no contact delivery which was 100% successful (and fast!).
