Went there for the first time last week after poking around for a good new Thai food restaurant not too far from home. Found it here and worth the drive. Very friendly and courteous people. Very clean place. COVID conscious for all you worried about that with easy no touch set-up. Bought the basics to start this visit -chicken pad thai, golden bags, chicken dumplings, spicy wings, shrimp on a stick. Excellent food. Will be back for more next time I have a hankering for Thai food. Worth the drive for me and looking forward to trying other items from their expansive menu. read more

Good pad Thai, solid apps and curry, prepared quick and hot. Small spot and mainly takeout.

I tried their drunken noodles and it was very good, however their curry puffs are wontons not puffs and they are very small. I would want to try their other dishes as everything looks so good. Peanut sauce rocks. read more

I have never done a Yelp review before, but am so happy with Rice Cube I decided to give them 5 stars. I have used them for two different parties, a graduation party and a small wedding party, both at my home. I used the delivery service, and the food came on time, and was very hot and fresh. the food was delicious. the delivery person brought the food trays inside and put the food exactly where I asked them to. (the party room was right inside the front door, so they did not have to walk far into the house). we received many complements in the food. the starters were a hit (satay, dumplings, and spring rolls). some of the entree dishes are repetitive with the vegetables, so read the descriptions. also, Rice Cube is very responsive with questions, and they called me right away when I failed to choose a protein to go with a dish. it made getting food for the parties very low stress. I will definitely use them again, and I highly recommend either for regular take out or catering. read more

This was one of our go-to Thai restaurants for a while, but I fear that it's slipping a bit. We got takeout again in July 2021, and the vegetarian in our group didn't appreciate ordering tofu green curry and getting chicken instead. When I called the restaurant, I expected them to at least offer to have someone drive the correct food to us (other restaurants have done this), but they just offered to refund that item back to the card. Not impressed. My pad Thai was way too sweet and still oddly flavorless, and the noodles were overly clumped together. Every once in a while, I go to this restaurant for dinner, and their food is amazing. I really like their chicken crazy noodles - the gluten free version is also good. Their scallion pancakes are delicious! If you are looking for a quick takeout dinner, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Best Thai in the Lexington area! The greats: Siam fried rice, crazy noodles, and Panama beef curry. Their chicken basil and grill items are solid. Only downside is the parking situation during peak hours but you can go behind the building. The staff are incredibly friendly and it has always been good to see such happy chefs preparing my food. read more

I was overall impressed. Small waiting area with few tables making eating in not so pleasant. The food though, very good with large portions. I enjoyed the pad Thai. Good flavor. Have me few shrimp. I was okay with this due to the flavor and size. Also got the summer rolls which were nicely wrapped and had a nice sweat dipping sauce with peanuts. I'd certainly be open to grabbing lunch there again, especially with their many reduced lunch price items. read more

Since the demise of Erawan of Siam in Waltham these guys are my #1 go to Thai restaurant though for take out only (they have a few tables I would recommend dining there unless you just need a table to eat at - small, no liquor lic etc). Absolutely the best vegetarian Massaman Curry and peanut sauce (this is my #1 Thai dish metric) - STRONGLY recommended. To be absolutely picky, the sweet potato could be a little better cooked - I cut up and microwave a little. But overall, excellent flavor and freshness and their rice is fine too (I technically prefer Japanese rice with Thai food but that is clearly a very personal and customized event!). Okay. I was very excited to try Rice Cube as I was O'd - ing on Bengali food. Thai! No garam masala! Heaven! Erm ... no. Try polar opposite. To be fair, I've ordered from Rice Cube 3 times, to feed 3-6 people. I've tried a number of their dishes. Pad Thai (seriously, my family doesn't think Thai food goes beyond Pad Thai. So yes. Always at least two orders to pick at while other other dishes are examined and tried and indicted for not being like Desi food.) Anyway. Pad Thai: Worst. Pad. Thai. Ever. Sweetish rice noodles with 3 pieces of scallion, a couple of off-smelling shrimp and perhaps one crushed peanut. This is the Pad Thai that midwesterners will find spicy. It will make Asians weep and recall grade-school cafeteria preparations of Noodle Veggie stir-fry. Tom Yum soup: Fine. Requisite off-smelling shrimp bathed in bright orange broth. Two mushrooms slices. It was hot! So: bonus. Brown rice: non-existent. As in I ordered it. But restaurant forgot to include it with my order. Garlic Chicken Wings: (For my Nepali uncles who are deeply suspicious about any food that isn't Desi EXCEPT chicken wings. Of ALL SORTS. Seriously.) Anyway. Wings: These were dry and wet and undercooked. As if the wings had been prepared several hours ago, micro-waved to temperature but at neither stage, cooked through. Yikes. Plenty of garlic in the garlic sauce. That's good? On site I noticed that there kitchen was surgically spotless. I know that makes my mother happy! However, I take it as sign that not that much actual "cooking" happens. read more

The pressure of selecting a Thai restaurant for the department holiday lunch is pretty stressful. I only found a couple of places that deliver to Lexington and picked this place based on the 3.5 starts and the menu looked easy to take lunch orders: pick an entree, pick a rice, pick a spice. Good call! Rice Cube made me the office hero without any headaches. I called to make sure they could accomodate our order. I faxed them the list and they called me back with the total. Both Po and Ohm were very friendly and helpful. My VP called the day of the lunch with the credit card info. She was pleased at how inexpensive it was. Everything came on time and the entire order was correct (about 14 different lunches). They even wrote the names of the employees on the individual orders from the fax sheets which made it very easy for me to set up. Everyone seemed happy with their orders. Rice Cube even gave us some complimentary dumplings to try. read more

I ordered takeout. I was a little disappointed. It was 11:30AM and I tried to order the Boat Trip Noodle Soup but they didn't have it. I ordered the Thai Hot and Sour Noodle Soup and I think they gave me the wrong soup base - it was not hot or sour. Which made it tasteless. My brother complained that the Crazy Noodle wasn't good, but I thought it wasn't bad. The Pad Thai didn't have much taste. The Siam Fried Rice had NO FLAVOR! I might try this place one more time next time I'm in town, just because it's close to where I stay. But I didn't even realize how many errors they made until I summed it up here. read more

Rice Cube is now my go-to Thai restaurant in this area. I've tried pretty much all the decently rated Thai places in Waltham -- including Tree Top -- several times, and Rice Cube outdoes them all. Haven't tried the other Thai places in Lexington because I haven't heard great things, and really, there's no reason to when Rice Cube is so consistently good (not to mention reasonably priced). Rice cube is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. The staff is so professional and friendly and quickly learned my name even after only a few visits. The food is excellent quality; favorite dishes include the wild boar basil (a pork curry), chicken massaman curry, Tom khar gai soup, or their vegetarian pad Thai. I've never gotten a dish that was overly greasy or disappointed me at all. While I believe you can eat at the restaurant, it really is a take out or delivery place. The kitchen is clean and nice, but there isn't much for indoor seating. Delivery takes around 40 minutes for me (1.5 miles away) so I usually opt to pick up, as orders are often ready within 15 minutes or less. Hands down the best Thai food in the area! read more

I've been going to Rice Cube since it opened. No matter what I order the food always hits the spot. My favorites are crazy noodle, beef panag curry and mango curry. The family is also incredibly kind and accommodating and delivery always comes before the ETA. I was thrilled to find a Thai place inbetween the millions of drycleaners and sub shops. Finally something semi-healthy, and inexpensive for dinner on my way to night school! Eh... I found the Pad Thai that I ordered to be almost tasteless, to the point that I was shocked to taste scallion, and wondered what was in my mouth. Not an ideal reaction... The service was amazing. The storefront was spotless. The kitchen was as well. This is incredibly important to me, so that was nice to see... It still didn't make up for the lack if taste. I saw a few really scumptious looking pictures of dumplings at the counter, but was totally incapable of finding them on the menu. Oh well. It was worth a try. read more

Pad thai was awful, barely edible. It really is the worst one I've ever had. The noodles were all lumped together and it was tough to separate them. I ordered it with shrimp and tofu, but they only gave me 2 pieces of shrimp along with several little cubes of bland tofu. The shrimp seemed old and was of the cheap frozen variety. Good thing I was wary about the pad thai after reading another yelp review on here that I ordered the beef satay, which was pretty decent. Will not likely be coming back again. read more
