    Basil Fried Rice

I have been wanting to try Crying Thaiger for a minuteee now & I'm so glad we decided to go here for dinner! They have two sister restaurants, Thaiger Den & Phat Thaiger, & are all in the same area in Malden. We were able to get a table without reservations & no wait time. Service was very good; quick & efficient. What we ordered: -Thai Iced Green Milk Tea -Thai Iced Tea -Nampla wings -BBQ Pork Skewers -Chicken Laarb -Red Curry w/ Salmon (requested extra spicy) -Basil Fried Rice w/ Chicken The food is so good! I highly recommend this place if you like spicy. I requested for extra spicy for the red curry with salmon & I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted actually spicy! Many Thai spots I've gone to tend to not deliver the level of spicy I'm looking for, so I'm happy I was able to get it here. Salmon was cooked perfectly & the curry was delicious. We loved the basil fried rice with chicken also. Flavorful & had a nice kick. Chicken was not dry either! The chicken laarb was addictive to eat. It had the right amount of citrus & spice. Generous portion too! Nampla wings reminded me of nuoc mam/Vietnamese fish sauce wings. I personally found the wings to be a bit dry but the sauce it came with really helped. Good flavor though. Lastly, both the Green iced Thai tea & regular iced Thai tea were solid. Not the best but still good. I'm a big fan of Green iced Thai tea & not many places offer this. I always make sure to order it wherever and whenever I can find it! Overall, I'm so glad we were able to stop in for dinner at the Crying Thaiger. Their food is tasty & I recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys yummy Thai food & likes spicy! I would definitely come back again ;) Parking: street parking

Love the shrimp pad Thai. Flavorful and good portion. Staff is friendly and attentive and decor was good. Knocked off a star because our card was charged to the wrong order but was fixed right away.

We loved this place! We ordered takeout and the food was made quickly, but everything was still piping hot when we picked it up. The crispy chicken with noodles was delicious, the berry wings had an amazing sauce, and the prik prow chicken was packed with flavor. We were a little underwhelmed by the crying tiger steak since it's supposed to be one of the standout dishes on the menu. Overall, the prices were very reasonable and we'd definitely order from here again!

    Pad See Ew Extra veggies

Ordered delivery and Im sure the "eating there" experience is much greater and having never been - didnt know what to expect... I had ordered a bunch of things after calling and asking if they could make some changes & the girl who answered the phone was GREAT, so accommodating & friendly... (I was trying to order very limited spice for the kids) - so I just noted a bunch in the comments and we were good. Let me add, having no spice means NO FLAVOR... Yeah big mistake... My son didnt like it at all, so now I had a bunch of bland things but that was on me. We ordered a ton of apps, a few noodles, some veggies and a meat plate... All super fresh. Just mad that I nixed most of the sauces and such because they were so needed. The Pad See Ew however, I ordered as is AND OMG the flavor was great and I added extra veggies as always and the plate fed. me for 3 days, SERIOUSLY! Portions are insane! Cant wait to go back with another adult and actually just order as is!

My friends and I showed up on a Friday night. There was already a line of people waiting for a table. Fortunately, we were able to grab one of the last ones by the window. Parking is a little tough, but there should be enough street parking spots available. We shared a variety of items, including Spring Rolls, Panang Curry with Short Ribs (GF), Chicken wings, Tom kha soup hot pot, Roti with Green Curry, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai with chicken. The dishes that stood out were the panang curry, chicken wings, and green curry. The panang was great for the depth of flavor and tender short ribs. Wings were lightly crispy and moist. Green curry was rich and creamy. We were most disappointed by the tom kha which was very watery and not as creamy or define in flavor as we were hoping. Overall, we had a very good experience. And the staff were very friendly and accommodating. All of the dishes came out in a timely manner with great presentations. Would come here again and try some other many other dishes. Very beautiful and comfortable environment to be in.

This is my favorite spot to order Thai food from. I've only ever gotten delivery but it's always packaged great and stays warm. My go to order is the drunken noodles with crispy chicken, and a side of crab rangoons! Would love to visit and eat in soon.

Whoa, this place is great! My friend and I split the grilled pork cheek app, Penang beef short rib entree and rice noodle with shrimp and pork belly clay pot. It was all so, so good. The clay pot noodles were unlike any other Thai dish I've had before - there was a smokiness that paired so nicely with the slightly sweet profile. And the curry was both rich and well balanced. The short rib was cooked perfectly. The pork cheek was perhaps my least favorite out of the three. I think this was just a personal preference for the texture of the cut. But the flavors were great and I also appreciated the fact that it came with a good serving of vegetables. The service was also really friendly and attentive. Overall, definitely a 5 star spot. I'd definitely go back!

Traveling from Texas and stopped in for lunch. Crying Thaiger Curry was served quickly and delicious. Fresh ingredients and excellent service. Decanter of water was a nice touch with a beverage selection.

One of my favorite Thai places! The food is incredible especially the meat dishes. Make sure you save room for the dessert- the mango sticky rice was to die for!

Nice interior! We were seated immediately on a week night. Food came quickly too Good portion and tasty food! The kua gui noodles were perfect texture and chicken was tender. Comes with yummy sauce and in cool pot. Couldn't finish! Was maybe a bit oily but other than that enjoyable meal for the price! Also free shrimp chips!

Crying Ribeye - must order! So tender and juicy

Tried out this Thai spot for lunch on a Sunday. There were plenty of tables available and the interior is well decorated. We ordered multiple dishes to share. The Crying Thaiger Curry was hearty with just a touch of spice, although the sticky rice we ordered on the side was quite dry. The spicy basil pad Thai was much saucier than traditional pad Thai. Crispy chicken was a good protein complement for this dish to add some textural crunch. Our favorite hands down was the Crying Ribeye! Tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked, especially with the tangy, savory dipping sauce on the side. We would definitely order this dish again. The mango sticky rice was also superb, the sticky rice in this dish was moist (unlike the side of sticky rice that came with our curry), the mangos were fresh, and the crispy Rice Krispies added a fun pop each bite. There were plenty of street parking spots nearby which was a plus. There were a few flies that kept disturbing us during our meal, but overall we had a great experience.

Omg the food was as good as I remembered from several years ago and this is still tbe best Thai food I've ever had in the states!! Must-have: Thai tea Crying rib eye Roti bread with green curry Panang short ribs Amazing food. Everyone was quiet eating because it's so delicious

Tom yum, pork skewers w/ sticky rice, chive dumplings, coconut custard
    Katherine V.

I will start off by saying I usually hate thai food. I have nothing against it, I just don't like that most dishes are super sweet or super spicy or super oily. But everyone I hang with seems to love thai food so I'm always willing to try it again until I find what I like. Well y'all, I found it. I live no where near crying thaiger but I will drive here if I crave it. Food - the chive dumplings and bbq pork skewers (with the sticky rice, ALWAYS add the sticky rice!) are a great "appa-tease" to get your stomach growling. Heck, I'd eat the pork skewers and sticky rice by itself as a meal -and not share- it . Tom yum soup with some rice noodles is usually my go to since I usually can't find thai food I like. Their Tom yum is no joke. I took one sip and had to drink some water to cool down the spicy burn. But also my fault for not mixing the soup before sipping. Nice and spicy, not sweet, sour but not too sour, got a depth of flavor to it, and seasons the rice noodles I dipped into it very well! My sister got the kra pow with minced chicken. She said it was well seasoned and really good. Our friend got prik pow(?) Sautéed chicken with veggies tossed in a chili sauce - looked delicious too! I'd say flavor and quality is certainly a strength at this place. Service was a little slow. We ordered takeout and it was estimated to be 30 min. We came about 45 min in and still had to wait for a solid 10 min to get the order. I will say though, the food was piping hot when we got home. The house was packed but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Atmosphere had a very homey feel. Thai knick knacks on a shelf split the room in to to provide more intimate feel. Was very clean and organized. Only downside to this location is parking is tough so takeout might be my thing!

We were seated in the main dining room near the bar. There is a lot of choices we wanted to try but decided to stick to a Tom Yum soup (shareable for 3 the menu said). Though was sad the jumbo prawns were out of stock apparently night so we only got regular shrimp in ours. Broth was rich and tangy! I also ordered jaew glazed rice with wagyu (assuming American wagyu) that was 2/3 large thin sliced pieces on top, torched table side. I thought the dish overall was a good dish, wish the jaew glazed rice was punchier. More tang and glaze. The rice was cooked well, just wish the glaze came thru on my order more. Still happy with my order overall. The lady got the flat iron steak medium rare with roasted curry sauce. Must say she definitely enjoyed that more. Flavor of the sauce, curry with spinach. A very cohesive dish! Definitely would order again! Now the rice we opted for (sticky rice) originally was delivered to the table as regular white rice. Had to take a few to flag down a staff member to get the correct rice brought out! Drinks we ordered thaiger cloud tea (their Thai iced tea) came out with great Thai tea flavor and the cold foam for the cream or what have you, mixed together was delightful. The lady ordered mango sticky rice drink, it was initially pretty sweet but toned down as you mix the drink! It's an elevated take on Thai cuisine. I think they did a great job here. Prices do reflect it, higher side for the menu, but you don't feel bad leaving. Felt worth it overall.

Lucky for him, my hometown is a food hub with several great options. We came to Habesha on a Sunday at 12:15ish, right at the time they opened. Our food didn't come out for about 45 minutes, but we received our veggie Sambusa, honey wine, and beer came out beforehand, giving us something to munch and drink in the meantime. Sambusa's are small, we split it, but wish we got two! The beef tibs were delicious! Definitely an option if you're not adventurous with your food. But I highly recommend getting the habesha special and beef tibs to get the full taste and flavor of this cuisine. The beef tibs fed us both, we felt very satisfied. My husband had a flight to catch so it was perfectly portioned, but our next visit to town will definitely include the habesha special AND tibs. Do yourself a favor and pop by. This is probably the best Ethiopian food I've had ever.
