And when you don't agree, you must now cancel the Direct TV they sold you and return all the equipment. Be prepared for pushback from Direct TV because they don't want to refund because of "buyers remorse " The Direct TV rep told me that they are not affiliated with ATT!!

I stopped using AT&T because of this. The sales rep at the store was no longer there, who told me they had no means at the store of giving me a receipt for my cellphone trade-in. I should've hand wrote a receipt and had him sign a copy of the trade-in but I'm too trusting. My first AT&T cellphone was in 1984 and was a DynaTAC 8000X that retailed for $3,995, which would equate to over $9,000 today. I have it on my desk as a paperweight. AT&T is the gold standard of service (sadly) and I'm now with Verizon after trying 3 other cellphone services and I barely get 1/2 of a bar and constantly dropping calls. I live on 40 acres in a rural area of St Tammany Parish. I refuse to be cheated out of $1,000 plus I bought the 'new' trade-in off eBay ($350) to use for the $1,000 credit, so I actually lost $1,350 and after 40 years that's no way to treat a valued customer. I'm not a valued customer!

It was the same thing every year, call them up and tell them that my bill was too high and then they would enact some discounts that would save me about $30 a month but were only good for a year. So the next year I'd have to call them up and do it all over again. Well last November when I called to complain about my bill they refused to lower the rate. I guess that now they're a part of AT&T they are unwilling to negotiate on price. So I decided to try switching to DISH. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! DISH suckers you in with their low initial rate but then once you add in extra packages to get what you want it ends up costing MUCH more. I believe their current introductory package starts off at $39. Sounds pretty good right? But wait, you want local channels? Well that's not included. You have to pay an extra $10 a month for that. Who the hell doesn't want local channels?!?! You want a DVR? That's extra also. You have 2 TV's? Yep there's an extra charge for that too. So my monthly bill ended up being $70 a month. That's quite a jump from $39 but still better than I was getting with DirecTV so I decided to go for it. The phone operator told me about the 2 year contract and I told him, "Hey wait a minute. I'm not signing up for 2 years when I haven't even tried your service out yet." I forget what he told me exactly but he definitely gave me the impression that I could cancel if I didn't like the service. When the DISH installer came out to set up my equipment I also asked him about a trial period and he told me I had 30 days to cancel. So everything was going OK until the day of the Super Bowl. We missed the end of the game so I tried to find highlights on ESPN only to find out the package I had did not include ESPN!!!! I called up DISH and was told, "If you want sports channels, that's an extra $10 a month." Gimme a break. What a scam! So now I'd have to pay $80 a month for pretty much basic cable. No pay channels like HBO. I just wanted the standard stuff like Food Network, HGTV, ESPN. So the next higher package was $84 a month and included ESPN but took away DIY and Cooking Channel!!!!! How frickin lame!!! So now I wasn't saving money over DirecTV anymore and decided to cancel the service. I had DISH send out the installer to remove their DISH and take their boxes back. To top it all off now they're trying to charge me a $500 early termination fee even though 2 people at their company told me their was a trial period!! I have filed a complaint with the Denver Better Business Buereau and I will be taking DISH to small claims court if they refuse the waive the fee. Stay far away from this company people. Their channel packages are completely predatory and set up so that the only way you can get the channels you want is to pay for the expensive plans.

    This review is not about the Marrero Store. This review is…read moreabout Cox Cable Via telephone . I called Cox Cable to speak about them matching a offer ATT had given me. I spoke to the Cox Agent who stated they couldn't match ATT's offer so I said that I would be turning in my Cox Equipment to the Local Cox Store near me and terminating my service. Soon after that I received Texts and emails stating my requested service change adding 500GB to my plan was complete !!! And that my new bill was $30 HIGHER than what I was paying !! I called Cox back and spoke to another Agent and told him that I DID NOT request any changes. He said that he would speak to a Supervisor and that they would look into it. He said he took the change off. Soon after I called back and spoke to another agent and explained that I was leaving Cox because they couldn't match ATT's price and that agent said Cox could match the price and transferred me to the retention Department and that Agent had no info and knew nothing. I explained what happened and said I DO NOT WANT ANY CHANGES on my Service. Soon after that I received Texts and emails stating that my request for in Service Wiring Service was complete !! And that my Bill was going up $35 a month !!! I called back and a Cox Agent told me he was going to report this matter to a Supervisor and what I got out of our conversation was that some Cox Employees added those Service changed to get "END of Month Credits" !!! Thinking I was leaving Cox soon and wouldn't know !! Not knowing I would get Texts and Emails advising me of the changes !! If that is FACT these Employees need to be FIRED !! Making Credits at my expense !! That is DISHONEST and Shouldn't be Tolerated !! Cox Cable I thought and think iss better than that !! Cox Cable if truly sorry about me being a VICTIM of FRAUD should call me directly and apologize !! Unfortunate and UNBELIEVABLE !!

    Today Elvin helped me remove the internet from my mom and dad's account but still kept the phone…read moreline My mom is 90 and my dad is 89 They don't use the internet The internet was originally installed because my mom's son used it while he was living there with them Elvin was extremely patient with me because I am not technologically savvy He must have repeated everything at least ten time But he kept repeating until I could say it for myself Everything is working so far I was able to remove the equipment for the internet and install the equipment for the phone Thank you very much Cox Cable Communication and thank you Elvin
