We went back for our second time, after a five year gap from the first time we went, and once again it was amazing. The food is incredible, there is a wait to get your food but it is 100% worth it. You get to sit right on the water and see the ferry come in and out. Also staff was so amazing. They brought my daughter a bowl of their edible flowers after she cried that her dad ate one. Gave amazing customer service and we will 100% be back! Couldn't recommend this place enough! read more

BWG is wonderfully located at the pier of Sandusky Bay. It has a nice seafood menu with variety. A favorite is the seafood lasagna. Seating is limited, so the early bird will get the worm. Otherwise, the wait can be at least an hour. BWG is great for a first date or to meetup for an occasion with special friends or family. The final bill cost for two for food and adult beverage is easily $$$. But you will enjoy the food and water front experience. read more

Ate here with a group of 7, arrived around 4:00 and we were one of 2 tables that where sitting. It took 20 min for a drink order to be taken, and then another 20 to have our food order taken, even though we were ready when we gave our drink orders. After we finally got all of our food it was 5:00. And then after we ate our food we waited around 30 min to have our checks brought to us and that's when we were informed of already having gratuity on the checks! That should be told before ordering or on your menus! And 2 people in our party didn't necessarily enjoy their meal. Can't comment on the food. We got sat and waited 20 minutes and no one came to even to a drink order. We finally just got up and left.

Food was OK at best. The service was great. Great view of the river/lake. All that being said, the owner is a B!TCH. Our service animal barked 1 time and we were told "I have other customers". Our son was being a little bit extra as 3 year olds and be, and we got a "control that thing" death glare. The prices are retarded, we got the salmon dip, perch dinner and 3 beers and it was $87. Oh and the perch "dinner" was market price and lunch portions, 4 filets. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

BLUF: The food was good, the service was terrible, I won't be eating here again. A group of four of us came to eat here after a long day. Our experience started with a 15-20 min wait to be seated. Not bad for a Saturday night right? Wrong. It took 15 min for someone to even come up and speak to us. When they did, we were told it'll be another minute and only one table was available. There were clearly 4-5 tables that were clean and empty that we could have been seated at. Took a few minutes longer to get our initial drink order and order food than expected, fine. Took another 10-15 minutes for our waitress to walk close enough we could get her attention and ask for drink refills (we asked for two glasses each as we were rather thirsty). Took about 8 more minutes to get one drink each, at which time we asked for an additional glass that took another 10 minutes or more to bring. Why does this bug me? Maybe they were truly packed and couldn't have gone any faster you say. There were two waitresses covering (at the busiest point during our visit) 10 tables. It sounds like a I had a bad time, why give even two stars you may be thinking. Those are for the food, which was actually really good. The jerk pork chop and fingerling potatoes was very good and a friend of mine had the filet and said it was excellent The food was good (slightly pricey, but now too bad) but the service was so poor that I wouldn't come back. read more

Went on a Thursday evening and got a table right away on the water. The berry lemonade drinks were different and delicious, and didn't break the bank. The salad was so fresh and the bleu cheese wonderful. We had the tilapia with mango salsa and it was so fresh and delicious. Everything is made fresh so it takes a longer to prepare. Decided to try this place since they reopened. The restaurant was not busy. Perch was on the menu based on availability and market price. My husband asked if it was available and was told yes for $32.00 We placed our order and sat for 20 minutes. The waitress brought over 3 pieces of bread. We had to ask for silverware. While waiting for our food we heard one waitress complain about her customers then the bartender asked the same waitress how to make drinks. He pulled the cranberry juice out and said it was brown but continued to make the drink. The table next to us complained about the steak being overcooked . Our meal finally arrived and we had to ask for salt and pepper and a drink refill. The food was not hot but no one checked on us. Once we got the check we were charged 43.00 for the perch. We questioned this and her response was I get confused when people order perch or walleye there is a 10.00 difference. She then walked away. Will not be returning. I had their steak salad which was good size (not big, but not small either), however, at over $18 for it I would expect something special. My boyfriend had their yellow perch and while it was tasty, it's not worth $20+ for something we can get nearly every Friday night fish fry. With those prices, I would also expect bathrooms sans some creepy crawlers. This location of this place was good, food was tasty, but the ambiance didn't match the prices being charged. read more

We randomly came here after everywhere else with outdoor seating was closed and are SO glad we did. All five of us loved our meals. The apple pork chop was the best pork chop I've ever had - it tasted as good as a great steak. The dill salmon was excellent, the walleye was tender, the mussels were succulent, and the burger was fantastic. We ordered the key lime pie and chocolate cake to go and they were both delicious. Our servers were attentive and really nice! The food took a while, but it was cooked fresh and they had a sign warning people, so I don't see how anyone would be annoyed. I did a quick check on reviews it's a bit of a mixed bag. We had both had enough Lake Erie perch to last's us a while and wanted a good steak. We got seated instantly (granted we are in the start of the off season). I had the Filet my wife had the pork chops. It was the best steak I've had in ages. We had an excellent meal last night! Our party of 5 got to sit outside - although it was raining and the temp dropped to 72! The salads were fresh - large and tasty. The perch meal was a bit high at $31 and 2 pieces of perch - but very delicious. Everyone else enjoyed clam linguine, shrimp, fettuccini Alfredo and tilapia. Not a bad meal in the bunch. Very rude people, except for the bus boy, who seated us and was very nice and apologetic for the way we were treated upon entering. Once seated, waited for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged by anyone or offered water or drinks. Prices were high on the menu and I would've thought with those prices one would be treated more professionally and kindly, but unfortunately that is not what we experienced. Well, my friend and I stopped up here this past weekend and I was quite disappointed overall. We went in because it had shown decent reviews here on Yelp and it was by the water which was nice, considering daily all I see are tall buildings. However, our server, Gary, was less than charming and terribly not attentive. He was actually one of those people whom you could tell hated their job. I explained I was terribly hungover and I was just wanting a side of fries. He stated rather rudely they don't do "ala carte" orders. Seriously? I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't allow you just to order fries. Flabbergasted that I had to buy a $14 burger (which I didn't eat until almost 14 hrs later) just to get a side of fries was absurd. My friend's drinks were rather weak and we had to eventually ask another server to grab our waiter for us to get our checks (if that tells you how attentive he was). I think Gary needs to get a better attitude or they need to let him go. Your customers can sense when you're not happy with your job/life/what-have-you. Really what you're paying for is the water view. The burger was average - no seasoning or anything done to the meat. Honestly Wendy's burgers seem more flavorful sadly. I don't know if this place doesn't like dogs, or the disabled, or both, but they discriminated against my friend who is both disabled and has a service dog. They questioned him about his disability and wouldn't let him in until he answered his questions, which I believe is illegal. When he refused to be questioned, they refused him service. You can get fish dinners anywhere in the area, why not find a restaurant where the management are decent and accepting of people with disabilities. read more

There is a side of the patio that you are allowed to have your dogs on which is where we chose to sit, a woman who worked there immediately became complaining loudly about people who bring their dogs there.
