So…read morewhen we found ourselves down in BA, we thought what the heck let's just walk in and see what happens. It was a Saturday morning and it was pretty packed but we didn't have to wait for a table which was nice. We had a lovely table in the back room. Loved the vibe of this place too. It was cozy and intimate but not stuffy or boring either. The Clarified Bloody Mary was pretty unique and deliciously horseradish forward. It was a nice twist on the drink. I love a good croissant and though that they don't make theirs in house, 6 bucks for a warmed up croissant from Empire bakery was one of the better croissants I've had in my life. Since it was our first time, we got all the viral hits. The breakfast sandwich was pretty yummy. Honestly though, I think there might have been better options on their well written menu. You could taste all the quality in the ingredients but it didn't have a big flavor punch and the texture to me was just all soft, no contrast. The Goat Guisado Tacos, now that was a game changer. Build your own tacos, super flavorful stewed goat meat with the cabbage crunch and those amazing cheese crusted tortillas - Yea that was a show stopper! But for the main event, those Blue Corn Pancakes 100% lived up to the hype. The pancakes themselves had this lovely mealy texture and they weren't super sweet on their own. But enjoyed with that perfectly melted butter, butterscotch, and maple syrup, yea what a perfectly balanced and harmonious bite of food. Well done! Can't wait to come back!

They have a dedicated bar area if you want to grab a drink. Want to highlight they have a solid drink menu; I tried a cold pressed pineapple juice that was super refreshing. For food, we tried the grilled shrimp salad and egg sandwich. The sandwich stood out; great flavors, crispy potatoes, tho a tiny bit over salted. Overall an enjoyable experience, great for meeting up with people, we'd recommend!

Things got off on the wrong foot when our server forgot my cocktail order and an appetizer which was the pork ribs. Minutes after ordering the cocktail, appetizer and a bottle of wine our server came back saying we needed to order every dish up front. At that moment we told them we do like to take our time and share dishes as they come out one by one and he honestly seemed happy to hear that. They then brought the wine but the cocktail was again completely forgotten. One of our other items showed up fist (kimchi pancakes), which I will say were great, but we then asked about the ribs and he confirmed he completely forgot about them. He said he put the ribs in as a rush and they would come out with one other dish. We said this would be fine, but not minutes after the ribs arrived all four other dishes showed up simultaneously. Our table was overcrowded, and it completely took away from the leisurely dining experience we were expecting. To make matters worse, two of the dishes--the baby carrots and the Korean glass noodles, were swimming in sauce, so much so we didn't want to eat them. While this may not be the case we felt rushed. We had received all of our food in less than an hour. The overall service made us feel like the restaurant was trying to turn the table as quickly as possible for the next reservation rather than provide a thoughtful dining experience. For a restaurant at this price point and pedigree, we expected much better pacing, attention to detail, and execution. Unfortunately, this visit fell well short of those expectations.

Paradiso has a unique feel because it has as much well-designed space outside as it does inside. The patio area feels more like a garden than patio. Even in the crazy Dallas heat you'll find people eating or cocktailing al fresco. The bar area is beautiful. It's covered in flowers and fun European style furniture. The bartenders were knowledgeable and fun to hang with because they clearly enjoy talking about their craft. Nothing worse than a bartender that is too important to chat it up with their customers. I had a delicious signature recipe called Dreaming of Suze (pic 2). It immediately caught my eye because Suze is a staple in our bar. It's a yellow French bitter liqueur you don't regularly find out at restaurants. I've never seen anyone infuse it. They complemented Mezcal with strawberry-infused Suze, sage syrup, lime and strawberry puree served in a tall glass over ice. It was a nice summer recipe and one I will definitely try to recreate at home. My second was a classic old fashioned made with Basil Hayden bourbon (pic 4) It was delicious and well-balanced. If you're in Dallas and want a change of pace from the usual, go down to Bishop Arts and take in the eclectic flavor while enjoying all the shops, restaurants and some cocktails at Paradiso. Salute @thejohnnycocktail Oh btw, that plate is the most delicious and beautiful hummus we've ever had!! Dreaming of Suze Mezcal Strawberry infused Suze Sage Syrup Lime Strawberry Puree

Low lighting, beautiful glassware, just an all around vibe. They were pretty slow but it was also a Wednesday night. Drinks were amazing and they had a lot of options. I got the Guava Sunset and it was so refreshing (pictured). We also got the ceviche which tasted very fresh and was a good portion for an appetizer. The filet was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri sauce was to die for. I forgot to take a picture of it because we dug in as soon as it landed on the table. Service felt very personable which I enjoyed. They also gave my date a rose at the end of our meal to give to me which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, great first impression and we will definitely be back! Or I may even bring the girlies for a girls night! Side note.. I'm not sure why reviews are so negative, as new restaurants deserve grace while they figure out what works for them and I think we all need to have a little patience and understanding.

I ended up grabbing street parking a few blocks over with a 2-Hr limit. Next, we had reservations at 8 PM and there really weren't many guests, which is pretty off for dinner time. The ambiance and overall aesthetic of the space is nice. The music isn't loud so you can easily carry a conversation. My personal highlight from the night was the complimentary alcohol-free shot the very kind bartender provided for me. I'm sober so I appreciated feeling like everyone else! Lastly, the food was terrible and over priced. I was hoping to like the lobster bisque but was greatly disappointment. It taste like velvetta cheese and was extremely bland and lumpy. Almost like they receive it frozen and heat it up before serving. Out of all the 4 dishes, only the lamb chops were really good. One of my friends got the chicken Alfredo and said it taste like warmed up Olive Garden. My other friend got the Carne de Fuego which is suppose to be Waygu beef and wasn't. With a price of $59 with ONLY 4 pieces of asparagus as a side, we were expecting more. I ended up sending the lobster bisque back and settling for the caesar salad (no protein) which was $15.

They banged the whole time , which we didn't know it was them until we opened the door. There was five of us, and once we opened up the door, they were telling us to watch our mouths because I yelled at them asking did they work there , obviously confused what was going on. They then decided to kick us out because we had too many people in the restroom. I only got one of the security guards name his name is Anthony another man in his 40s who had an accent decided to put his hands on me and push me. We were all so confused why we were getting kicked out. I will never be going back! That is absolutely insane. We did not take a long time either and they said it was gonna take too long if we all went together, which makes no sense. We took MAYBEEE 5 to 7 minutes in the restroom. The owner needs to get a grip on his security guards. Especially the ones that look like their on drugs sneaking people in from the back and the one man who put his hands on me for absolutely no reason!!! BEWARE LADIES: You cannot go to the bathroom with anyone or you will get kicked it and man handled !!!

It's definitely more delightfully eclectic and kitschy than neighborhoods around Downtown Dallas or East Dallas. Atlas has a funky lounge design that is warm, inviting and screams that you made it out of the house so you're ready to rage. They always have great energy in their music, creative cocktail menu, and food. I had a tasty Sidecar variation called Between Da Sheets (photo 2).
