    Avocado and Egg Toast
    Alaina K.

The coffee and staff were great, but I was VERY disappointed in the avocado & egg toast. It was expensive, but bland on top of not being very filling; there was one slice of tomato about 2 inches around on each slice. The avocado was sparse, which is odd considering that is supposed to be the main staple of this dish. My friend ordered her own and didn't like it, either. Honestly, I think it's the worst avocado toast I've had in Dallas. Next time I think I'll just stick with the brown sugar latte. I'm not sure I'd branch out and try any more food though

I have never been to Bishop Arts late at night until this past Saturday. One of my friends had suggested this place and it was great that it was still opened past mid night while some places in the area were closing up at 12:00 AM. The exterior was cute, but the interior was even cuter! We went on a cold and sprinkling Saturday night, yet the aesthetic and vibes of this place radiated so much. I was told it was a nice and classy coffee shop during the day time, but at night it's more lively, yet still had the coffee shop vibes. Seeing the decor and the demographics, I just felt so comfortable. I ordered the Espresso Martini and the Peaches, Peaches, Peaches. I had also tried my other friends' drinks including the Pep In Ya Step and Chai Again Next Year. They were all pretty good! I personally didn't finish neither of my drinks because my body was still digestively-traumatized from all the liquor from the night before, but I know that if I didn't full send the night before, I wouldn't 100% enjoyed and finished the drinks. The bartender was very nice and fast. Even though it was busy, I could tell that he had a nice and friendly aura plus he was very pleasant to watch since he did some bartending tricks. At the same time, there was live music. A little band which was very lively and very interactive with the guests which I liked a lot. Overall, it's a nice, classy, more-intimate, chill place to have a night out at. The staff as well as the clientele all made me feel very comfortable there. I would 100% go back to La Reunion and definitely would stop by during the day time!

Stopped in for a quick coffee while exploring the area. Strong cold brew and great service. Whenever I'm back in town I'd love to try more of their menu.

Overall, the atmosphere is really cool. It's nice to walk in and enjoy a cool place. The bar area is a cool vibe and so is the sitting area. The baristas were very friendly and knowledgeable as I listened to them give advice to other customers who did not know what they wanted to order. The matcha is easily top 5 best that I have ever had and I fully plan on coming back for another. The flat white was also good. We got breakfast tacos and I didn't love how watery the eggs were, but they weren't serving anything else until 10 am. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Very nice ambiance, love the open doors concept very eclectic. The service was okay, for a first timer I really didn't know the protocol of ordering etc. Now for the let down the food was not what I expected. My friend had the chicken tacos which she ate the whole thing but the BEC was a definite disappointment. No caramelization on the bread at all. It could have been toasted. And the cheese seem to be Velveta cheese. Really didn't see the avocado. The potato chip really threw me. The sandwich to elevate the dish could have been served with some type of fried potatoes with rosemary. This was a no dish for me. Bishop Arts is always a great place to enjoy an afternoon.

Came here for the first time today & I don't think I'd come back... not a bad thing but I've been to better coffee shops. I got a large iced oat milk latte with honey & cinnamon & honestly my coffee was so milky... The regular and the large have the same amount of espresso shots so you're really just paying for extra milk & yeah, you can taste it. Ordering was a little awkward.. she just didn't seem very friendly but that's fine. The doors are open.. I don't know if it's because their AC is out but there are so many flies everywhere even in the bathroom. I noticed the glass case showing the pastries was extremely dirty so I didn't get food sorry I can't comment on that. Overall, it was ok. Probably won't come back though.

This is most definitely a cozy cafe and bar. They may not have a lot of items to choose from but the garlic cheese pizza and the Paloma mocktail were really good! We had a night out here with friends and stayed until closing and the bartender was really nice - and also had a great playlist that included Kaytranada!

I had been wanting to test this spot out and got a chance when meeting up for a quick catchup and drink with a friend. They are a coffee shop/ bar type of feel with a nice ambiance that fits bishop arts well. They have outdoor and indoor seating and offer a parking lot in the back that is shared with other businesses. The drinks were good and the old fashioned was made well.

We did not order food here, but our nightcap was great. They had live music then switched to our RnB and it created the best romantic chill vibe. Our server was really nice and recommended what drink we would enjoy the best!! I usually come here to study but their cocktails exceeded my expectations.

First stop in Dallas and I'm glad I came here. I was doing wfh and this is a great place to go. The workers here are super cool, and the ambiance is top notch. I like the music... not too loud but definitely a vibe. I ordered the breakfast tacos and a coffee. Both were so good. I definitely plan to come back!

Love this half inside half outdoor coffee shop! This is my favorite in bishop arts- has so much greenery and cute aesthetic. Our barista was super helpful. We each got an oatmilk ice latte ($6) and you can substitute alternative milk and add flavored syrups for no extra cost. I really like this concept. Between the lavender and vanilla syrup- lavender was better. It's not artificial tasting at all. Great wfh spot with no WiFi time limit and plenty of outlets.

First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.
