I give my highest personal recommendation for Bordwell Electrical Contracting Service; not something I am often compelled to do. They ARE that good! One of the circuit breakers blew and would not reset. The bathroom and stairwell lights were out. I placed an urgent call to BEC Electric on Friday evening. They happened to be passing through my neighborhood on the way to another customer and were willing to stop by to determine the problem. In a very short time (evidence that David Bordwell is indeed a Master Electrician), the bathroom lights were operational. They had to continue on to the original customer, but in a reasonable time returned to address the stairwell light issue. This was not as easy a task, as it required going into the attic and feeding a line between the bathroom and stairwell switches. For both switchboxes, they had perfect aim and drilled an opening for the new line (NOT an easy achievement). The job was completed much faster, and far LESS expensive than expected for that kind of service and expertise. I will indeed specifically seek out BEC Electrical for any future electrical tasks. Here's the bottom line: 1) Willing to fit you in to their already very busy schedule 2) Very fast, due to extensive expertise 3) Considerate (cordial and paid attention to cleanup afterwards), and 4) A true value for the level of customer service provided. I give BEC Virginia Electric an A+ David was the nicest person one could deal with. He returned my phone calls and emails promptly, and completed the work faster than I could have ever expected. Since I was not available at the house, David worked with me via phone and text to figure out the proper fuse, wire gauge, and outlet for the 230V mig welder I planned on using. After discovering that a larger circuit was required, David upgraded the installation the next day without a fuss. A true professional. My garage is now properly set up, and I feel safe to use my welder as intended. I would recommend them to my family and friends, and intend to use them again soon. Thank you David! read more

Being very busy with work and kids I usually don't take the time to post reviews but these guys earned it. They showed up on time, covered EVERYTHING, installed recessed lights throughout my townhouse, installed a microwave over the stove, installed two TV mounts and ran the AV cables through the walls to hide them. They were clean, professional, and prompt. Most people will agree that having contractors in the house can be inconvenient but these guys worked around us and we're so easy to have in the house we provided lunch to them on both of the days they were in there. We were in the middle of a window install and had unexpectedly encountered cables. BEC came within two hours of being called and got them relocated. They even stayed and got the electrical box moved and worked with the window crew to ensure that cables were in the right place (there was also a electric line for the AC) Best of all they are a local business, the owner went to a local HS...there is nothing better than supporting local businesses especially when they do great work and are responsive. They were very professional and they were able to figure out a not so easy job and complete it in no time. This is my very first Yelp post, but I thought David & his team deserved it. David & his team installed a transformer for my European dryer that needed downsizing of the voltage. His team had to re-run a separate line to from my basement to the 2nd floor laundry room. Rather than having me change the dryer delivery date, David actually came back in the evening to install the transformer so that I can have my dryer delivered the next day.
