    Before, 50 + years,,and falling down.

We had a great experience with Borg Fence. This is our second time having Borg rebuild a decaying fence. As before, the whole operation was smooth and friendly. From Josh, our estimator to Gabriel, the crew chief, the job went very well. Also, Karen, in the office, was most helpful throughout the process. The crew was always working, no "shovel time". They all knew each other's job and supported each other from start to finish. They were punctual, professional and polite. Gabriel went the extra "mile" several times. I was particularly impressed that he hauled away all the old clippings along with the old fence pieces. There was a fair sized load of bamboo that he tossed on the truck. Thank you Gabriel. In short, excellent job from first phone call to final check. I will be calling Borg Fence in the future.

If you are looking for quantity over quality....this is the company for you. I have a 6 year old fence installed by Borg. The reason I went with them is because they sold me on the 2x4's and 4x4's (true to dimension, unlike actual 2x4's and 4x4's which are a 1/4" smaller). Borg told me that these "beefier" posts and horizontals are sturdier and will last longer than a typical fence. My six year old fence is leaning, the gate does not close, and the horizontal 2x4's are bowing. I gave them an opportunity to stand by their install, and they wanted to charge me $125 a post. When spending thousands and thousands of dollars on fencing and a gate, I expect better quality. I have a 25 year old fence on the other side of my yard that is in better shape. But at least their company trucks are lifted with graphics all over the sides...

    Noticeable gap. Enough said.

Looking at very similar reviews to ours, we probably should have vetoed our neighbors when they basically insisted on using Borg to replace our shared fence. They were probably the highest bid out of 4 or 5, and in my mind that means they'll be the best by far. NOT the case. The fence they installed looked great initially, but then we took a closer look and there are very noticeable gaps between the boards (doesn't this negate a "privacy" fence?), it doesn't match up whatsoever with our existing fence even after they promised it would ("don't worry" said the sales guy... I'm worried now!!!), and in order to tie in the new fence with our existing gate they nailed a random board to fill a gap I specifically had to ask about. Just doesn't seem like professional quality work to me. Would not hire again.

Board and post hanging together by about 20 nails.

I'd like to disclose that I am trying to write this review as informatively as possible for prospective clients. Also, this is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a Yelp review in hopes of saving someone from making the same mistake I just did... Like everyone reading these reviews, my fiancée and I needed a new fence. We scheduled a handful of estimates and ultimately settled on Borg due to their reasonable bid and timely availability to get the job done. To top it all off, they guaranteed that the job would be done in one day. We were ecstatic. Like most of the reviews already written, the crew was friendly and hard working. On the downside, the crew was sloppy when it came to installing the fence itself and conducting themselves on our property. They left cigarette butts on our lawn and the overall cleanup job felt like a child half-heartedly cleaned their room because their parents forced them to. After Borg completed the install, my fiancée and I were trying to admire their work when we began to notice a significant amount of imperfections with our new fence. Nails were cavalierly placed on the boards and in many cases, not even serving a purpose. A portion of our lattice fell out, probably due to the fact it wasn't secured in the first place. Lastly, one of our posts sank about 2 inches, causing worse stability than our prior fence and leaving us with a fence that wasn't level. Fortunately, Borg has you sign a contract that stands behind their work and states they will come out to repair their work should it be needed. Which is great... but not something I expected to be referencing so shortly after the job was completed. However, unlike their prompt response and eagerness to collaborate with our initial install, Borg was less than thrilled to get a crew out here to fix their work. When we initially called Borg with our concerns, they seemed genuine and interested in coming out to fix their mistakes. However, as the weeks turned into months, it became clear they had little interest in righting their wrongs. After a consistent bombardment of emails and phone calls for nearly three months, Borg came out and corrected their mistakes on the fence. We're fortunate that Borg was able to meet our needs and give us a fairly good-looking fence at a reasonable price. But as I conclude this review and reflect on how the product has stood the test of time for the last 4 months, I realize I will be in the market to replace this nightmare much sooner than I had hoped. Summary: Going with Borg is like eating fast food. You're going to be satisfied with the cheap cost and instant gratification, but shortly after, you'll regret ordering that Big Mac with fries.

So, when are you going to repair the damage your company did when you didn't get it right the first time? It's been 3 weeks
    Michael P.

Be leery if you need repairs. 3 weeks and just lip service after the 2x4 came off the wall 9 months after installation. And they charged me $50 to repair a poorly done job to start with.

    The middle board fell out

Critical: Professionalism, Quality (LACKING) Fence was installed February 2020. Paid for February 2020. In April, boards started to loosen and fall off post. No worries, nailed back up. Now July and sections are falling off. They claim its the horses rubbing against the fence, but the horses are on the inside and the boards wouldn't fall on the INSIDE with them if they rubbed on them and how on earth could a 16 hand horse push on the bottom post??? Had a blow up today with Tara Q who was rude, unprofessional and lacks any type of Skills (and her colleague Karen) who when I asked to escalate, said she wasnt going to escalate the call. I can understand not knowing your job but 5 months later, the fence is falling apart and their suggestion rather than make it right ? Hire a ranch hand to fix their mess ups. Take a LONG hard look at their quality guys. This is a poor product and they dont stand behind. Tara Q said they would no longer be speaking to me. (As if Im losing sleep over that) Ive emailed the owner Jill Borg, but haven't received a response, only from a TARA Q (who isnt the owner) and in situtations like this, I dont waste my time talking to employees who ear a minimal wage and not allowed to think. Dont waste your time on these people. Check my posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram about this just search #Borgfence #Livermore #BadReview #FatMeatIsGreasy #WaterIsWet PS Tara, I dont make idle threats, thats for kids, I always follow through with that Im going to do.

I would like to warn anyone thinking of using Borg Fencing about my experience and recommend they avoid this company. First of all I had used Borg Fence years prior for a large fencing and gate project. It was around a $10,000 job. We had no issues at that time, so when we moved and needed fencing and gate work on our new house we contacted them again. What I didn't know is that the Julie Borg had taken over the company and has no interest in quality work or customer satisfaction. We split the cost of a long section of fence-line with our neighbors (around $4,000). That work was done in a sloppy manner, but acceptable after I took care of the protruding nails and debris left behind. The work on our gates on the other hand was completely unacceptable. I specifically stated not only to the original estimator, but to the "job foreman" that we have a small dog and cannot have large gaps under the fence or gate. They both stated that it would be no problem. I told them to call me if there was any issue as I had to leave for work. When I got home I was appalled. Not only was there a 5+ inch gap on both gate bottoms, but the work was a sloppy as I have ever seen. There was a large hole and cavity in the cement they poured around the post (currently filled with water from rainfall), missing screws in the handles and hinges, extra holes in the post, debris everywhere. I contacted the company and they sent out a "repair crew" a few days later. The repair crew consisted of a couple guys and a couple pieces of wood. No idea how to actually remedy the gate issue without changing the direction of swing (something the estimator and foreman said was no problem). They were at a loss, so called the company before nailing a strip of wood to the base as a temporary block for the dog (which didn't allow us the use of the gate). Enter the owner, Julie Borg, who came out and quickly began to blame me and my wife for making the decision to have the gates swing inward ( the way her estimator suggested). She saw all the missing hardware and hole in the cement and downplayed it saying that it was no big deal that she would fix it. I asked what she planned to do about the gaping holes and she told me that she would have to charge me if I wanted them to change anything about it as she had "just done what the contract said." Looking at my contract that wasn't the case as they had it opening in a different direction. She again was dismissive and told me that would have caused an even bigger gap (disagree). Next she sent me an estimate of additional $ to change the way it opened, but with no remedy to the badly disfigured bottom of the fence that had been cut at strange angles and looks terrible. Throughout this there was no apology, no commitment to make it right, no acceptance of any kind for her peoples shoddy workmanship or her estimators lack of construction knowledge. So far nothing has been remedied as I know I will just be out more $ and it will be poorly done. This company (Julie Borg) does not have the knowledge or ability to do BASIC gate construction. They are nothing but a headache. I'm out over a thousand dollars for two gates which are less functional than the old ones. I'll update this if by some miracle the owner has an epiphany and does the right thing.

Concrete from the post they poured broke away!

During removal of a fence post, their crew broke multiple patio pavers, displaced perimeter bricks, and exposed concrete footing. This patio was professionally installed and represented a significant investment. Photographic and video evidence of the damage has been preserved. The on-site supervisor stated there was "no way" to remove the post without causing damage. That statement is inaccurate. This is the second time fencing has been replaced at this property, and prior licensed contractors performed the same work without damaging the finished patio surface. This company deserves more than 5 stars! My husband and I bought our home 3 years ago, and the…read morefencing to the house was in bad shape. We live here in Antioch on top of the hill. We get strong winds that can blow a weave or a wig off a person's head, and it is hotter then hot in the summers reaching past 100 degrees, and when it rains, its nice to smell the rain and see it coming down. Now it is July 2026, and the fencing is 26 years and 2 months old. You can't tell me (as I will attach photos, that this fencing didn't need to be done.....because it did. We had gotten a bid from a neighbor who lived down and around the corner from us, as his father owns a fencing company. We had asked him and his gf to provide us a quote a LONG while back and that quote was pratically another TRUCK payment and then some. So we held off. Then one windy day, on 12/14/2024, the wind blew our fence over and the shared property line fence over. The tenant living next door in the little shack named Pablo, came to help us put the fencing back up. He even knew and said it was just a temporary fix until the next wind came. Since then the fence has fallen over 3 more times to 2026. Then on yet another windy day, my tarp flew over the fence into my neighbor's backyard - but this neighbor's home lives in Steven S. Stroud, and so my husband and I walked over to that neighbor's house to see about getting my tarp back from her backyard. We knocked and no one was home. So we left her a note introducing ourselves and when she got come from she messaged us and we went over to go grab it. She had my husband get the tarp because her backyard slants up and she wasn't about to climb the steep hill. So while standing there and Johnny's retrieving the tarp, I had asked her did she use to do her fencing. She too, told me about the neighbor who's dad owns the fencing company, and she also said that when she asked him for a quote, his quote he gave her was INSANE! So with some research, she then found A&J Fencing. This is where I called them and asked for a quote. Scott Knolbloch came and gave me a quote. Because I share property line with two other neighbors, he informed me about the 30-Day Good Neighbor Law. Later that night, I got the quote from Scott regarding the fencing that was much needed which was 26 years old, falling over 4 times, due to rotted and deteriorating wood, with nails, screws and staples protruding through onto my side from the neighbors side where they tried to repair the fencing themselves. The quote was sooooo reasonable, I had to relook at it twice!! Nutshell, we ended up proceeding with the quote provided from Scott with A&J Fencing. We were able to get both neighbors onboard with paying their half of the fencing after provided and sending out Certified 30-Day Good Neighbor Law Letter. We are soooo pleased with the work. Rigo and his crew showed up at 8am on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Knocked on my door and I gave the OK to begin. They immediately started unloading the needed and necessary tools, and man o man.....they made taking down the fence soooo easy!!! Next came the digging and before I knew it -- the posts were being put up.....followed by the redwood wood panels. The fencing was done in 5 hours! (They took a lunch break too!). Overall..... A HUGE SHOUT OUT for coming to my property and providing me an AMAZING AND REASONABLE QUOTE...... A HUGE SHOUT OUT to Rigo and his crew for tearing down and putting up my fencing, my double iron gate and my single gate. Yall ROCK!! A HUGE SHOUT OUT to Vanessa who I wrote my check too. She was soooo professional and sweet! A HUGE SHOUT OUT to Andrea, to hearing me rant about other stuff (she knows ;) ) and helping me with keeping me aboard on all neighbors following though with their halves of payment! Look at my beautiful fence! We love it! Thank you A&J Fencing.

Scott came out quickly to understand the project and our needs and provided us with a competitive quote. Our project was a hogwire fence around the parameter of our front yard, which included a gate that bridge the gap between the new fence and the side of our house. He quoted me the same day he came out, and once the quote was signed, he had his team out here within a week. The workers were prompt, professional, friendly, and worked fast. They finished in half a day and cleaned up afterwards, which was nice. The final result was fantastic, much better than I imagined, and all of our neighbors came out to compliment us on the fence. Working with A&J was fast, easy and painless (which is hard to come by with construction). Highly recommend!
