Great little family owned micro brewery. The owner Greg and his wife will be in the behind the bar. The "dad joke of the week" will be on the chalk board and the Bosacki's will be tapping out some tasty seasonal brews. We tried a Cranberry wheat and a Grapefruit Pilsner. Both were very nicely done, but the next time I go I want to try the Kentucky Common which is a recommended easy drinking favorite. This place is quite a gem. They serve fresh popcorn and it's near a few restaurants nearby. We popped in as part of a holiday pub tour but I plan to return to play board games, eat and grab some suds. read more

Great small brewery in Mundelein to have a few craft beers. It only has a few at a time. Bosacki's still has a pretty good variety however. Most of them are classic styles and not the newer stuff the bigger breweries have a lot of. The prices are pretty good for a small brewery it seems. About the worst thing anyone can say about it is that it can be limited on beers. It's a microbrewery. The tap list may be small, but there's still a lot to try. It's about $6.50 a pint for the cheapest beers. That's pretty impressive for a small brewery like this. Among the popular ones are the Bavarian Wheat, a classic. The Brown Ale has notes of caramel and chocolate and is a good one too. A lot of beers weren't available, but there's still enough to choose from. There's no food but there's free popcorn. Great place even though it can be limited. It's also limited when it's open. This is closed Mondays to Wednesdays. read more

Solid. Teeny tiny. Beer. Yes, this is literally ever single thing I look for in a tap-room. If it's every single thing you look for, then you'll be a happy camper :) Beers tend towards the traditional and oddly, the historical. I do love that! My tastes run fairly plain. Give me a well executed lager, or give me some historic brew I've never seen before. All that sparks joy. I'm not much of an IPA or hop-forward person. Megan and I are driving around out west on a Saturday and she said, do you want to get a beer? Yes of course, do you want to go to the sports bar or the old man bar? Megan says, you are an old man, let's go there. OK, off we go. What do I mean by the old man bar, it's a few regulars sitting around the bar with a pint chatting about other beer bars. What's not to like?!?! Usually there will be 6-8 beers on tap, all are good. The Scotch Ale was especially tasty. No food here, but there is a pop corn machine for snacking or food delivery if you want more. Check the website, there are food truck events as well. Best brewery in the immediate(hadn't gotten to any of them in Wauconda yet) Libertyville and Mundelein area, period. Yes I am serious, I like them more than Tighthead and Mickey Finn's. The staff is great, love that it's easy to get into a conversation with others here, it's nice and laid back, free popcorn(and BYO food, which I don't mind), not much else more I need to say! I can even overlook the fact they limit you to 3 samples, as they do have a 4 beer flight option as well. Every beer I either sampled or got in my beer flight was enjoyable, and I don't think you'd go wrong with any beer you chose. In my past experiences this sadly at times isn't true, where you run into the occasional microbreweries that do either bad or mediocre on certain beer styles(noticed this at Mickey Finn's). I personally liked Word to the Weizenbock the most, lol probably because I'm a fan of high ABV beers. This beer actually isn't too excessive for ABV(8.3%), and btw they should go back to that name and not have shortened it(boo) to Weizenbock! The I Wish Red Ale, and also their Brown Ale were good as well. They kinda push the squeezing the lemon into the beer thing if you order the Wife's Weiss, but I thought it tasted fine without doing that. Ah well, it tasted fine either way. Know I definitely will come back here soon! And it's conveniently only a block or 2 west of where the east to west North Shore Bike Path ends, in Mundelein. Keep in mind that path goes east through Libertyville and Lake Bluff, connects with the Green Bay/Robert McClory bike trail in Lake Bluff, and yep the Lake Bluff Metra station on the UP-North line is near where both these mentioned trails intersect. They partner up with a Mundelein grilled cheese place(Gril) that travels to here to serve their grilled cheese sandwiches on Friday nights, so I might come back for that sometime. One last note, if you're coming from the bike trail and from the east, Bosacki's may appear hidden at first. But it's ACTUALLY easy to find! The key is to look for the Ace Hardware building on the left, and the Fair Haven Plaza buliding(with a medical supply store visible from the road) on the right. Enter into Fair Haven Plaza going around the corner from where you see the medical supply store, and Bosacki's is in the middle storefront of those 3 spaces. read more

The husband and wife team at Bosacki's were super pleasant and easy to talk with when I stopped in to sample a few of their beers. Each beer has a story and due to the newness of the location they had time to get me informed. The beers were all very drinkable with the English Ale being my favorite in this stop. Last time we were there, we bought a couple of growlers to take home with us. And ... they have fun things to do such as food trucks, trivia nights, and tons of puzzles on the bar and throughout the entire place for you to test your knowledge in being able to solve them. We found this place accidentally (random google map find) almost 2 years ago and other than a few additions such as their outside seating and puzzle board, this place has not change in its quality of customer care. They are just as sincere today as they were when they first opened. We believe in helping the local small town businesses and this place will continue to get ours. They treat you like family and get to know their customers on personal levels instead of just treating you like a customer just out for your money. The beer is great and the atmosphere was very good for Saint Patrick's Day! Brigitte and Greg are lovely to talk to, attentive to customers, and were happy to answer all of my beer questions. Very good place. Went there on a recommendation from a friend. Glad he did. Shortly after walking in owner walked up to our table and reviewed beer menu with us. Took his time and explained each beer. You won't find that in many places. Did a beer flight, 4 beers per tray. Placard at your table along with dry erase marker. Turn that in and they bring out your flight pointing out which beers are which. Complimentary baskets of popcorn with the popcorn being popped behind bar. No food on premise but you can order out and have it delivered or bring it in. Beers were very good. I definitely will be back. Seasonal Beer - Dutch Shepherd Rye a MUST TRY!!! My husband stops in here from time to time and brings home a growler. His favorite changes with their seasonal brews. He really likes the I Wish Red Ale. I will admit, I am not a beer drinker. Thank being said, I really enjoy the Wife's Weiss with the lemon and the Back Porch Porter. I can really taste the coffee in the BPP. His various size of growlers are extremely handy and with ability to bring your own food in there is little reason not to visit this hidden gem. Furthermore, Greg knows local breweries and is always positive about his competition and it further shows is passion to this craft. I absolutely love Bosacki's! Greg and Brigitte, the owners, are very friendly. They let you try whatever you want and give very good sized tastes. They will give suggestions based on your tastes and keep allowing you to try beer until you find one you like. While I normally have a narrow taste range for beer, I like everything they make. I think Bosacki's gets over shadowed by other breweries, but they are by far the best. HIGHLY highly recommend. read more

I really liked the fact that they weren't all high alcohol beers which is what I'm finding at other micro breweries.
