Very good and unique bar. At first glance it looks like any local joint, clean, nice and advertising a cover UFC cover after 9:00pm...but looks can be deceiving (in the best ways). The on tap beer menu is small, but delicious. Had two local Chicago microbreweries (Maplewood and Dovetail - NEIPA and Pils, as well as Missouri's Narrow Gauge Brewery - Wild Idaho Jorts). Beers were so good, now need to go and search out these breweries in the flesh. Best tho was their a small Spanish-inspired Tapas menu...husband had bourbon pork belly solomillo with fries and I had montaditos (jamon, salami, honey goat cheese and arugula with fig dip on tiny pan shaped torta bread) with chips. We met up with our neighbors at Oak Trail Taphouse for Sunday drinks and dinner last weekend. We were greeted right away by friendly staff, who made sure to check in with us regularly. It's nice to see this plaza filling up again! The Taphouse makes their chicken tenders in house, so it's real chicken with house made breading. My fiancé enjoyed the Solomillo Al Whiskey. If you're being careful about your diet, there are a free options like the Greek Salad, although the menu tends towards pub food accompanied by fries. read more

The food was really good as they have a small menu and can make sure what they're making is pretty high quality each time. We got an appetizer of the fried pickles (which were thinly sliced, so eat them quickly before they cool) and they were awesome (without or with the chipotle sauce on the side--they were great plain, but I could've drank a 4 oz glass of that sauce!). My spicy chicken sandwich was a very big, batter-dipped chicken breast with a bit of tang in the breading and topped with big slabs of pickles and some spicy sauce. It also came with some more fried pickles (luckily!). The brisket poutine my husband ordered was bit too filling for him to finish (consisting of fries and curds in a sizable amount). He wasn't too fond of the brisket, but he said it was mainly because of the BBQ gravy flavor instead of a more typical brown gravy. They have a very good selection of beers on tap (about 12, but extremely varied, so everyone will find something they'll like), and plenty of bottles available since they also apparently own the liquor store next door. Service was a little slow, and the place was super loud--my watch's sound level alert went off so often I had to turn it off while we were there. The sound volume was mainly due to the TVs, as there are plenty of them, and not so much from the customers. I guess I was expecting a little more upscale for the 4.5 stars but a friend and I not usually in the area were trying to find something quick in the outside cold. It was very bar-like, nothing fancy about the decor and had games in the back. Kinda typical bar. Only a few customers there but it was early lunch ish so I'm sure more of a bar crowd shows up later in the day My friend got some garlic something wings that were the funkiest color battered wings ever. Kinda beige-yellow. No complaints from friend and took some home. I personally would have had a hard time getting around the color but.. I got the chicken with arugula and onion salad and fries. The salad coulda, maybe shoulda m, had tomatoes or something but I enjoyed it anyway. The chicken was a breaded cutlet, thin and very tasty. The fries I thought were also very good. I had a beer and friend had wine. No issues. I wish I'd have taken photos but phone was off and once in a while you gotta enjoy the dining experience without a phone, ya know. Came here last weekend (holiday weekend) when we were looking for something to do that was chill. We hadn't played billiards in a long while and were happy to find out they had a table. I believe each game was a dollar, which was a huge plus. We ordered a few drinks and basket of fries too. Fries were GF! They also have electronic darts in the same area. Darts were fun too, only down side is one dart machine is very close to the billiard table. Everyone that was in the game area was super friendly and ultimately everyone was able to play their games in peace. Only recommendation I have is to move the foosball table out or move all the dart machines to one side (if possible). We'll def be back just from the overall vibe alone. read more

I only gave this place two stars because the server was fine. The food on the other hand, was probably the worst bar food we have ever had. The absolute worst! I have no idea how anyone could give it a good rating. The drinks ordered were just okay, certainly not the way they should be, but at least they were drinkable. The large beer pretzel was just okay but they were out of the mustard sauce and the cheese sauce they then provided two of was lousy. We've had way better. Stay away from the fish and chips as we would give it a minus number if we could. Very, very, very salty as were the fries. Then some kind of Mediterranean flatbread that sounded interesting was also a major disappointment. The place is pleasant enough, but if you go there, better stick to beer. read more

Usually I come here to have a drink. Today I decided to go for dinner. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with pickle fries. It was absolutely delicious. Everything I need from a spicy chicken sandwich. 10/10 the pickle fries were also very delicious! And the sauce was the perfect amount of spice. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. Would definitely come back to try more things on the menu. To drink I ordered an old fashion. It had too much ice for my preference. Just heard about this newer spot and took my dad to check it out for his birthday. It's kind of hidden in a strip mall, but the inside is warm and welcoming. The staff greeted us right away and explained everything. We ended up trying a flight. I loved the selection, but if you're not a big craft beer person this is not the spot. I loved trying beers I've never seen before! We also tried a few cocktails. They're well made and well priced, we had a French 75 and blood orange margarita. The food was wonderful! We absolutely loved the cheese curds. A big portion for the price and they have a hint of spice and not too much breading! Yum! The pork belly was also a big portion for the price. The hint of BBQ was just right. The chimichurri that it came with was a nice touch, highly recommend both dishes. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Cool new spot! read more

This is a lively and refreshing new spot in Mundelein. While this is still their soft opening, it's already pretty great. This is a big place with a bit of a rustic decor. Because they own the beer and spirits place next door, they carry some unexpected beers on tap - Goose Island Beer Bourbon County Midnight Orange Stout. They have beer flights for $14 for 4 - 1oz. Whiskey flights are also on their lineup with varying prices. They host UFC and other PPV fights and sporting events. The menu is small, but I would assume once they have their official opening it'll change. Service was great and everything was very clean. Give them a try. read more

This was a pretty cool new place in the middle of nowhere in mundelein. The decor in the inside are very pleasing at the eye and there are several beers to choose from along with a impressive menu. The food is awesome and worth 4.5 stars. BUT the draft beer prices are insane. The beers I wanted to try were $18+ for a 12 ounce pour. Ridiculous! We had the Solomillo Al Whiskey (pork belly over fries) and brisket poutine. Both were good excellent and we would order them again. In fact, we've decided to get takeout from here and take it around the corner to Tighthead Brewery, where the beer is much better and priced normally. My husband ordered an old fashioned. It was $9.50 which is very reasonable and he said it was good. In short, the food is fantastic but don't come here for a good beer experience. Messy and unorganized - the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. This place needs Bar Rescue, they need serious help. Not enough staff and they aren't trained. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this gem! I was in the area for work and this was one of the few places opened late. We walked in and was told the kitchen was closed but the staff was excellent and still made us some food that was incredibly tasty. The chicken nacho portion was insane and the chicken wings with Dave's BBQ sauce were perfect. We were so impressed that we came back the next night! The second time was just as good as the first. The manager Carl was running around making sure we were taken care of throughout the night. The bright spot for both evenings was Leah. Being a big whiskey fan, I was exceptionally impressed with their wide selection of high quality whiskeys but even more impressed with Leah's knowledge and suggestions about which one to try next.
