5/31/2026 Came here for lunch with my husband and my mom and her partner. We had such a great time. Our server, a young lady, I believe her name was Matea was awesome. We had the Lava bread and the select two which were the hummus and Muhammara which is a Puree of red peppers, walnuts, garlic, olive oil & pomegranate. $12 My husband ordered the Red Lentil Soup but he wasn't a fan, it tasted like Tomato Bisque. For our entree, I had the Lamb Sis Kebap which I shared with my mom and had enough to take home for lunch the next day. This was a big portion. My husband ordered the fried fish, it came with a big salad and rice. He said the fish needed some seasoning. The prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. We also ordered Turkish coffee and the Kunefe which none of us had ever had and I must say it is my favorite dessert ever! The restaurant looks nicer at night. It has a better ambience. Been dying to try this and I'm so glad I finally did! We made a reservation for a Saturday night dinner. It is a very lively atmosphere inside, with guest chatter and warm lighting taking over the space beautifully. There are a few tables outside as well. Our server was prompt and helpful. We ordered the lavas and the appetizer sampler. Definitely recommend! My fiance and I split the mix grill for two. We figured it was the best way to try all the different items at a decent price. Park Ave in Winter Park usually means tricky parking and higher prices, so I was wary when my friend chose Bosphorous to celebrate her new job after loving it on her first visit last month. However, it turned out to be a flavorful, shareable Turkish dining experience that was well worth the money even though I'm very much A Poor.   The must-order for the table on each visit is the Lavas ($6), a baked to order hollow bread that has a taste akin to a pita but arrives "puffed up" and has a light, airy taste to it (we ended up ordering two, we liked it with our dips so much).   We ordered the Select Two Appetizer ($12) to dip our Lavas in, and chose the Cold Cucumber Dip and the Muhammara (a puree of red peppers, walnuts, garlic, olive oil, and pomegranate molasses) as our two.   To drink, I ordered the Old-Fashioned Turk ($15), an old-fashioned but with house-made Turkish fig bitters and cherry juice, which gave it a distinctive, almost spicy(?) taste.   Though some items are pricier than others, it's possible to eat here affordably if 2-3 people are splitting a few appetizers and an entree. There were three of us that night, but for our entrée we ordered the Mixed Grill Dinner for Two ($54). Despite the name, this huge plate of meats was more than enough for the three of us to split. The meats consisted of Beef Kebap, Chicken, and Lamb, and was served over rice and came with a side of something similar to tzatziki dip.   Parking can be an issue depending on when you go (it's situated right on Park Ave in Winter Park), but there are street lots across the street about a 5 minute walk away, and street parking along neighboring side streets.   Because of the price, this is definitely more of a special occasion restaurant for me than something casual, but you get a good amount of food for the price, with good atmosphere and even better service, so I'd definitely return again. read more

Went with a group of 9 to celebrate my mom's birthday and Bosphorous did not disappoint! Our reservation was originally for later in the day, however, the hostesses were beyond amazing in accommodating us to an earlier time, as since we finished our activities before dinner early. Bosphorous is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the decor and vibe. I always get the iskender kebap and end up having leftovers. On this visit, we were seeing a show at Rollins after and I knew I wouldn't be able to take any leftovers with us. We decided to get the mixed apetizer with lavas. So delicious! A friend called me up and asked if I wanted to try a new restaurant. We ventured to the walkable downtown Winter Park area and found Bosphorus nestled among the other restaurants. I really enjoy middle eastern cuisine, so I knew I was in for a treat! We went on a Saturday night, so all of the restaurants in the area were busy. Bosphorus was no exception. Luckily we found a table outside so we didn't have to wait. I ended up being really thankful for that - as a person with sensory overload issues, I would have been completely overwhelmed had we been sat inside. I will cover that in a separate paragraph below. If crowds aren't your thing, or you're just looking for a more intimate meal, I recommend going during the day or on a week night. Our waitress was so kind and gave us a tour of the menu and a few recommendations. We definitely appreciated her advice when our hot, pillowy Lavas bread came out to our table. We got a few of the dips to try with it and we were in heaven. Honestly, bury me in that bread - it was delicious. If that was how our meal started, I knew that more great things were to come. My friend and I couldn't decide what to try, so we ordered the meat plate for two - and we were SO glad we did. We were able to try a little of everything: the kebaps, doner, and patties. The meats were perfectly cooked and the pickled veggies were the perfect compliment. The plate was definitely more than enough for two and was absolutely worth the cost. It was so good, I had to unbutton my pants after I was done eating. Unfortunately, we had eaten too much to also have room for dessert. Oh gosh darn, I guess that means I just have to come back! Overall accessibility: It was a Saturday night. The restaurant was packed with people - which lends credit to how great the food is - but that means it had lots of people noise, plate noises, loud ambient music, and very little space to move. I had only been inside long enough to ask for a table outside, but I was immediately hit with sensory overload. I personally could not have sat inside if that was the only option. The restaurant does have outside seating, but it is also quite cramped and directly next to the sidewalk/road. Again, it was a Saturday night, so the outdoor seating was also full of people and the sidewalk and streets were full of people getting to their destination. I traded the inside noises for the outside ones - car noises, constant traffic going by, pedestrians walking/talking, and people coming very close to your table. I personally had a hard time staying focused on my conversation and my meal. If these things sound awful to you, I do not recommend going during peak restaurant times. At bare minimum, I recommend sensory overload earbuds and getting a table outside, but closer to the restaurant than the street. read more

My bestie and I always split the pick 2 dip (hummus and muhammara are our favorites) with the lavas bread with the beef sish for our entree and always leave with leftovers. The hummus is so fresh and delicious. The muhammara was very flavorful and it became my new favorite with flavors of red pepper, pomegranate, and garlic. For my entree, I got the special beyti kebab. The dish was beautiful. The lamb was so tender and well seasoned. The tomato and yogurt sauces were rich and delicious. The portion is also huge. Wow. I still think about the dip platter with the lavas (my favorite dip is the muhammara) - and I also got the chicken kabobs as the entree. Really busy Restaurant and Parking in Winter Park IYKYK I went to another location a few months ago and wasn't impressed with the food, I had the Lamb Shank at the time, it was too salty. I'm glad I decided to give them another chance. This time I went to the Winter Park location. I ordered the Lamb Chops with Rice, for appetizer we had the select two and the Lavas bread creation. Haydari and Mahummara, they were both great, the Mahummara was my favorite. The Lamb chops cooked medium was awesome, great flavor and cooked perfectly...I love Lamb Chops. Ana our Waitress was great perfect 10!! She was attentive, made recommendations and great conversation even while having a very busy Restaurant. We were in town for the theme parks and was recommended here by a local friend. From the start, the service was fantastic. Our party was able to try a variety of dishes and drinks and everyone loved it. ' For starters, we did the karisik meze to try all the dips with the lavas (hollow bread). We liked every single dip but my top was the babaganoush. The hollow bread came out hot and fresh and was the perfect vehicle to pick up all the yummy dips. My favorite entrees were the special beyti kebap, moussaka (forgot to take a pic of it), and lamb shank. The flavors were balanced and meat was cooked well. Brought me right back to my trip to Turkey. We were too full to try all the desserts but we did get some baklava, of course. They were the perfect sweet end to our meal. Yo. Bosphorous is a SPOT. This place was awesome. The food, the service, the atmosphere. All fantastic. Andrew was our server, and he rocks. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and made tons of recommendations, which we decided to follow, and I'm glad we did. Everything was freakin delicious. He's also super friendly and very attentive. Andrew, if you see this, you rock dude. We tried some of a special Turkish red wine they had available, of which they are supposedly the only location in the United States that offers it. It was damn good. I personally am a beer guy, so I went with a Turkish beer instead, and loved it. The food here is CRAZY good. I inhaled my plate. Food also comes out in good times, doesn't take too long. I wish I could remember what everything was called but im terrible with remembering some of the more traditional names Dessert was delicious. We had a Turkish dessert that was some kind of filo dough with cheese and pistachio and maybe some kind of honey maybe? It was GOOD! I went here the other day and sat outside, the waitress was very attentive and constantly checked up on us. The food was good, we ordered the hummus and bread and I got this chicken dish. I will say I do not think the food was anything super special, it was honestly something I could make at home and it taste exactly how they describe it, but I think it's very cool to have this kind of cuisine in downtown Winter Park. I ordered the chicken sauté with the lemon sauce and rice pilaf. The lemon sauce was very fresh and tangy. The portion to price ratio was very reasonable and I remember having leftovers for lunch the next day. My meal cost came out to around $35 with tip. The service was quick and the staff were very kind and attentive. The ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy. Our conversations were so engaging and the food so delicious that we ended up staying for three hours and closed the restaurant. So happy we came in for lunch at Bosphorous! Service was absolutely amazing from the second we were viewing the menu outside. We were even able to try the chicken adana kebap prior to deciding to eat here. We opted to sit inside as it was a bit toasty out. We started with the blueberry mojito and bosphorous mule. Both were absolutely delicious and refreshing. We ordered their infamous lavas which is the giant hollow bread with Babaganoush and muhammara spreads. The babaganoush was so flavorful I could've eaten an entire plate worth! The muhammara was a red pepper flavored spread which my boyfriend loved and I was not as big a fan of so it worked out perfect because I didn't need to share my babaganoush! We both ordered the lunch portion kebaps which were still huge. He ordered the chicken sis Kebap and I ordered the lamb sis kebap. Both were amazing, cooked to perfection, and extremely flavorful. The rice pilaf was soo good and paired great with the lamb and chicken. I could have done without the pickled red cabbage and beets and just eat the carrots in their delicious vinaigrette. Updating my review because I recently revisited and enjoyed everything much more! We sat outside at sunset and the beautiful weather added to the atmosphere-- I find the inside dining a bit cramped and dark. I got the same appetizer platter which I think is more suited to 2-3 people if you're very hungry. And this time, I tried a lamb stew. It was perfect! Very savory and full of tomato flavor, which pairs perfectly with the fluffy rice! Glad to give it another shot because we really enjoyed it, especially being at the outside table :) read more

We waited about 20 min on a Tuesday night for a table. I came in from out of town but I used to eat here when I lived here. I was happy to see they are still on the ave And have expanded to multiple locations and cities. My husband has multiple food allergies and when we asked the server questions she brought her manager over to answer our questions which seemed standard. She told his food choices were safe to eat and that the chef would be the only one cooking his food bc of the allergy and management would be the only on delivering it to our table so they do not cross contaminate. We love Turkish and Mediterranean food, and were curious to try this restaurant after moving to the area and seeing a Costco gift card deal. I will say the restaurant is beautiful inside. Great cocktails, Our server, polite, but perhaps we caught them on an off-night as they disappeared. The bread was delicious, but I would've liked more dips to choose from than the way it's presented. Perhaps a garlic dip, but admittedly I'm unsure if that is traditional Turkish fare. The creamy garlic chicken was delicious, but cold, which made me question how fresh it was. Perhaps a manager did eventually stop by and ask how everything was, and was happy to heat it up again, but I hate sending food back. If I owned a restaurant, I may have at least comped a cocktail or two, but that is the type of customer service I'd expect at their prices. Had my galentines here at their Winter Park location and it's in such a cute spot in Park Ave! Park is street parking if you want to be close but there is parking by the train station which is literally a 2-3 minute walk to the restaurant. We had a reservation so we were seated promptly. Our server was very very nice and checked in on if we had any questions and made recommendations based on what we were eyeing on the menu. For starters, we shared hummus, lavas, and the calamari. All were delicious! I love that the calamari wasn't all just breading and the sauce (which I believe was a yogurt of some kind) paired very well! I wasn't the biggest fan of the bread of humus but that is a personal taste preference; it was still very good despite this! This visit I got the Chicken Saute with the cream sauce. If I'm being honest, it was filling but slightly underwhelming. I wish there was a bit more flavor in the actual meat and not just drowned in sauce. I also wish that it came with pickled veggies like their grilled meats. I LOVE the rice pilaf though! I would definitely give this place a try again. I also ordered the falafel which was average and my friend had the lentil soup which was flavorful. We ordered two entrées with the intent to share, one chicken and one beef kebab platter. When they brought out our food, we began to eat, and within a few seconds, they came over and said that they had given us the food for the people at the table next to us. I had received lamb instead of steak. At first, it seemed like they wanted us to give the plate that we had already touched to our neighbors, then they basically tried to convince me to keep the lamb, which I agreed to, but ended up not liking it at all just because I'm not a lamb person. So we called them over and asked them to take it back and after that, the waiter had a different attitude. He didn't check on us again, and he seemed annoyed by the whole situation which they themselves caused. I found that the flavor of the chicken and the lamb that I tasted were very similar so I think maybe it's the strong spice that I don't care for. Also, the rice was kind of dry and chunky. The red cabbage and onions were flavorful and delicious. We ordered the baklava to take back to our hotel and found it to be average and the pastry part tasted burnt. I was hoping for a better experience after reading all the wonderful reviews, but this visit was subpar. We started with the lava hollow bread, which was warm and delicious, and the mixed appetizer platter, full of fresh, flavorful options. Everything tasted well-balanced and authentic. For our main dishes, we ordered the fried Mediterranean sea bass and the lamb shank--both were outstanding. The sea bass was crispy and perfectly cooked, while the lamb shank was incredibly tender and rich with flavor. You can really tell care goes into every dish. Dessert was excellent, and the Turkish coffee with liquor was a great finishing touch--strong, smooth, and very enjoyable.
