WOW! I'm so glad I gave this restaurant another chance. I was impressed that after my first visit, the Manager, Ken Melton, contacted me to discuss some issues I experienced per my review last month. Mr. Melton asked specific questions relative to the date I initially dined and other circumstances with certain food items. Based on this recent visit, I found out one of the chefs in the kitchen that first night I dined is no longer employed there. Obviously, this person was let go as they did not follow the quality standards instilled by Mr. Melton based on the experience and the meal I had this evening. I invited my fellow Yelp friend, Ricki, to join me as she was interested in this restaurant herself. She was impressed with the ambience of the restaurant as well as our exceptional server, Ashlyn. Ashlyn was truly a five star server. She was diligent in her duties, provided lively conversation and just added to the overall relaxing and enjoyable evening. (She also makes a great cosmopolitan, which I'll get to later in the review.) As for the food, this visit was truly a gratifying experience also. I recommended the spanakopita to Ricki based on my first visit, and she was impressed with the platter and the amount of food presented as the appetizer. She also ordered the Lamb Lollipops (French rack of Lamb, cooked, medium, and seasoned well). She had me try one of them and I agreed they were outstanding. She finished off her magical dining experience with the baklava cheesecake for dessert and declared she was more than satisfied with the overall meal. As for me, I gave the Ouzo Mussles a second try. The presentation alone was quite different from my initial experience with this appetizer. (See the previous picture and the recent picture.) The creamy ouzo sauce, enhanced with garlic, onion, basil and tomato was divine. No salty taste, plus you could tell the mussles were fresh, as Ricki agreed. I noticed that this time, the appetizer included sliced Parmesan cheese on top of the mussels (as stated on the menu ), but was missing from the appetizer during my initial visit. (Possibly why one new kitchen chef was appropriately let go?) For my entrée, I chose Chicken Rhodes, which consisted of perfectly grilled chicken breast slices, sautéed with artichoke, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and olives. it was topped with feta cheese and served with roasted vegetables. It was an excellent dish! For dessert, I had Mama's Honey Cake. It was just as good as the first time I had it. For drinks, Ricki started off with The Painkiller. Based on the smile on her face, I knew she was enjoying that drink selection. For me, I went with the Pomegranate Cosmopolitan, which I had last time and thoroughly enjoyed that concoction. For our second round of drinks, Ashlyn recommended I add mango to this drink, which she created herself. When Ricki heard mango, she decided to have that as her second choice also. Besides being a great waitress, Ashlyn definitely possesses excellent bartender skills. The drinks were presented with an orange slice and a lime peel and were heavenly. They were so good, we decided to have one more to complete the evening. Thank you, Mr. Melton, for taking the time to listen to customer feedback and taking necessary action to keep up the high standards of this restaurant. This is going to be more of a probationary review, since I only ordered a bit of food, but i definitely plan on returning. It sits in a large ornate business center/hotel lobby, it is a bit confusing on getting there from where you parked (the parking garages seem to have 50 contradictory signs) but the interior is very nice, clean, modern, while still feeling "Greek" enough. The appetizer sampler was very good with more than enough dip and bread for everything, of note the baba ghanoush had a distinctly smokey flavor which I liked but my dinner date did not. The falafel platter was also light, crispy, and excellent. All of our cocktails were very light, bright, floral and well made, with the perfect amounts of alcohol. And the honey cake was absolutely to die for. Worth the trip alone. I should note that as I was wrapping up I somehow managed to karate chop my martini glass, twice in a row, and sent a CASCADE of glass all over myself, my drinks, and possibly the outer reaches of Jupiter. Our waitress was super nice about it and mentioned she sees broken glasses everyday, though mine was definitely the most unique execution of the technique. Wonderful little restaurant, and I plan on going back soon to try a wider array of their selections. I will probably request a plastic cup however, for my own safety. read more

Ok, yes yes yes, Niomi was my waitress and she did a wonderful job. I did the magical dining and my appetizer was Spanakopita... Wow it looked so fresh and pretty, I didn't want to eat it but I did and it did not disappoint. The sauce with the tomatoes, olives and peppers were great, but the spinach pastries was fantastic. I cleaned the plate. Then came the Entree and I got the Siros Salmon, that was just as amazing, the veggies were crunchy and not over cooked, the orzo was nice and firm, the sauce was a welcome compliment and pulled in the grilled Salmon perfectly. The different taste sensations was like have an amazing party in my mouth. I did not finish it all. I boxed it up to take home. Then came my welcome retreat and the finishing touch to such and outstanding meal. The Dessert. To say that my mouth started watering as soon as they sat it on the table is an understatement. The Baklava Cheesecake, was strikingly simple to look upon, yet that first bite ... so soft and delectable. Pulling me right in to the sweet and creamy cheese cake with the crunchy yet satisfy taste of walnuts and a hint of honey. Yes I cleaned the plate, There was nothing to take home. The Manager did stop by, and I told him how much I enjoyed the Appetizer and dessert, as well as the different ingredients. All and all it was a wonderful experience. To the Manager.. Let Niomi now that she did a wonderful job, even though I kept coming back asking her various question. I wasn't feeling well and I wanted something good to eat that would help me feel better. I decided to Uber Eats from Acropolis. Delivery time was a bit on the long side but it was worth the wait. I ordered it early enough that it still arrived at dinner time. The karpathos chicken was just what the doctor ordered. Perfectly seasoned grilled chicken breast on a bed of greens, red onion, cucumber, sundried tomatoes and feta. The dressing was luscious and a perfect accompaniment to the seasoned chicken. I'm always on the hunt for a Greek restaurant whenever I'm visiting a different city. This spot was only about a 10-minute walk from our hotel, so it felt like an easy choice for a Friday night. Surprisingly, it wasn't busy at all, so we made our way straight to the bar. We were definitely noticed when we walked in, but it took quite a while for the bartender to actually come over. She was talking with a coworker behind the bar with their backs turned to us. It wasn't just a minute or two -- it was long enough to make you question whether you should just leave and find somewhere else. We had just gotten into town after a two-hour drive (with the last hour being awful rain), so we were really just looking forward to finally sitting down and getting a drink. Once she came over, we ordered beverages and started with the Greek lemon chicken soup and the dip platter. The soup was solid -- I'd say 7/10. The dip platter was definitely the highlight at 9/10. It came with four different dips and pita bread, and everything was flavorful and fresh. After filling up on pita, we decided to share a shrimp dish (which was an appetizer). The shrimp itself was pretty average -- maybe 4/10 -- nothing particularly memorable. Oddly enough, the bread that came with it was the best part -- 10/10. Overall, the biggest issue was the service. It was extremely slow, and we could see our food sitting at the counter for a while before it was brought over to us. It felt a bit disorganized, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. The gyro itself? Packed. Like... they did not play when it came to the portion of meat, and I can appreciate that. The flavor was good, juicy, and definitely hit the spot hunger-wise. But here's where I got a little side-eye ... $16 for just the gyro--no fries, no drink, not even a little "thank you for your coins" moment. For that price, I expected a bit more of a complete experience. I ordered through Uber Eats, and unfortunately it arrived cold, which took away from the overall vibe. And you know... a cold gyro just doesn't hit the same--it deserves to be warm, cozy, and comforting. That said, I'm not writing them off just yet. I'd actually love to try this spot in person because I feel like the experience might be completely different fresh off the grill. No special Xmas food menu but had mostly everything available from their usual menu Asked about their whole snapper fish dish and was told they don't have it anymore but I saw one come out of the kitchen. Asked the server and he said he was told they didn't have it anymore, oops, there was some miscommunication there Got the 6 pieces of lamb lollipops instead and that was a good amount to share and enjoy with everyone. This was my first time here. I stopped in for lunch expecting to get a mediocre gyro. I was pleasantly surprised and will say it was the best I have had since leaving Chicago 8 years ago! I really liked my dip sampler platter. All the dips were flavorful and the pita was warm and plentiful. We went during bite30 and it was so much food we had to take our dessert to go. The baklava cheesecake was really good as well. Maybe a 4/5 but still really good. My father has a ton of food allergies and they even cooked him plain chicken because he can't eat garlic, so like Greek is really a hard place for him to find food. The only reason I scored a 4/5 is because their website and the booking page for reservations showed that on Friday nights there was like plate breaking, which we learned doesn't happen in the summer. There was a dancer who was not bad. I felt bad for her because honestly the restaurant wasn't busy enough for her to make any tips. I imagine this location is busier at other times of the year. Only stopped in here for drinks so this review can't speak to any food items. Since just having drinks we did sit at the bar and were greeted quickly with menus and cocktail menu. The restaurant is well decorated with tables in different areas to allow for a quiet dining experience. I could see different groups in different areas around the location which I could see it working for a nice date night. Came here with a large party for a birthday dinner. They're a Greek chain restaurant. It's not "grandmas kitchen" menu of food, but they had a good variety of Greek favorites. Like an "Olive Garden", but for Greek food. I got the Baba ghanoush appetizer with pita and vegetables to start. It was Smokey and delicious! One of my favorite appetizers at any restaurant! For the main dish, I got the fish and shrimp wrap and fries. The wrap was delicious and filling with a good amount of vegetables packed in. The fries were surprisingly delicious! They were huge and thick cut with a flavorful seasoning. Someone else in our group got the whole Red Snapper, which was delicious! The service was pretty good. I feel bad because I know the pricing was due to uber but man it was so expensive for what I got. My gyro was cold by the time I got it and there was barely any sauce on it. The sauce was mostly on one side so half of it was dry as the desert. Because the meant is thin and it was so dry, it was hard to eat. I didn't even get to finish it because I just couldn't eat the rest due to the dryness and how bland it got at the end. The bread the gyro was in was good and the taste is great with the sauce. I wish they put more tomatoes and like some lettuce or something instead just plops of onions plus a tomato and a half. I want to try their food in house as I believe it will probably be better. Never ordering uber from there again though because the price point was outrageous especially when it was supposed to be a bogo!!! I paid like 30 bucks for two gyros. Cold and meehhh gyros. Hopefully the experience will be wayyyyy better in the restaurant. I also ordered fries but for some odd reason it never went through. Kinda glad I didn't order though because it would've been like 40 something dollars and probably wouldn't have been good either via uber delivery. This past Wednesday (August 20,2025), I took a chance and ordered Acropolis Greek Taverna for my Nonprofit Organizations monthly workshop through EZ Catering. I can't tell you directly anything about the inside or service because I believe EZ Catering hires drivers similar to an Uber Eats or DoorDash. However.. the important part.. the food!! I ordered two Greek salads, spanakopita, falafel, chicken, and lamb gyros. When I tell you all of it was a hit!! The salad was so good, had dollops of potato salad, huge chunks of fresh feta, tomato, cucumber, olives, peppers and lots of herbs and seasonings. Even without the dressing you could eat that salad and still be happy and that's a huge compliment coming from me. I've eaten spanakopita since I was a young girl and this spanakopita was so fresh with spinach, feta and in-house made phyllo. I enjoyed every bite and was mad that I didn't order more. I only had a chicken gyros, which was also wonderful. Filled with all of the fixings. I wished I'd gotten to try the lamb and falafel but my community ate up every last bite. We had rave reviews for choosing Acropolis, having fresh food that wasn't super heavy so people could feel energized instead of lethargic and engaged with each other as well as the topic for the evening. Visited Acropolis Greek Taverna during Bite30 and I'm glad we did. It was a slow day when we were there but they did have a dancer for the people visiting. I opted for the spanakopita and steak kabob. I enjoyed by both. I do wish there was a spicy sauce or something to go with the steak just to add some more complexity to the flavor but overall it was good. I saw the comments about breaking plates and honestly that seems like a fun treat. I imagine we'll be back. read more

Are there any good nice Greek restaurants? I liked the atmosphere here, but it definitely had some things they could work on. It's fairly new from what I understand, but open long enough to work out the kinks. Service was just OK at first and fizzled towards the end. Our waitress disappeared a few times and refills of waters and drinks could have came faster. It was to the point of just deciding to go somewhere else for drinks instead of waiting on more here. They did have a belly dancer, but the music was barely audible. We talked to her during her routine and I could hear her clear as day. It was a nice touch, but no plates breaking or any type of festive atmosphere for her. It was odd! The seafood dish was good and so was the fish with rice dish as the creamy sauce and rice combined nicely. So they do have some promising things on the menu. I wanted a gyro but it was only available during lunch.... ugh Some of the diners at the table ordered lamb lollipops and they were severely overcooked. Such as shame and they didn't finish them as they were terrible. I don't plan on returning here which is a shame as it seemed like it would be a good place. We ordered from Acropolis Greek Taverna for lunch the other day and were actually very impressed! They are located downtown in the old Dovecote building, so I'm glad something new has landed there. This space has always been pretty, but I love what they've done with the interior. At first, I thought this was more of a fast casual concept, but the overall feel is much more elevated than I expected. I've been on the hunt for more healthy, quick lunch options and decided to try their Athenian Chicken salad bowl for lunch. This salad has breaded chicken breast over lettuce, tomato, onions, kalamata olives, and pepperoncinis, topped with pesto, feta cheese, and pita strips. It was a hearty, delicious bowl and their homemade Greek dressing is fabulous. My husband got the Karpathos Chicken salad and he also really enjoyed his. They frequently run BOGO deals on UberEats, which is 100% worth it. Now I'm inclined to to visit for dinner soon which looks like a fun vibe with live entertainment and belly dancers! read more

Dolmades served hot and excellent. Hummus very good as was pita. Greek salad not traditional dressing. Few olives. Only one piece of feta Mousaka inedible. First came out not hot enough. They must have put it in a microwave. It came back quick. Lack of taste and consistency. Salmon inedible. Very dry and tasteless. Some mussels ok but others inedible. Sauce with mussels very good. The place is cute, and the belly dancer was fantastic--she was really sweet and added some charm to the evening. But honestly, the vibe just didn't match the lively atmosphere their website promises. No plate breaking or napkin throwing, just a belly dancer every 30-45 minutes with music you can hardly hear, which was nice but not what I expected. The drinks were good, but the food was hit or miss. The lamb lollipops were overcooked and had an overwhelming charred taste that took away from tasting the meat. The Greek potatoes were just okay, nothing special. However, my friend's fish with rice was amazing--the rice had great flavor and if I return, would order something with that. The real bummer of the evening was getting my payment slip back after my card was charged and seeing that my bill came to $58.04, but my card was charged $60.21. I'd love to know why that was or how that happened, but unfortunately didn't have time to address that while we were there. Service was extremely slow and lacking. Acropolis is fairly new (maybe has been open for a month or two), so I'm hoping it's growing pains. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype or the fun atmosphere their website describes. To my understanding, Acropolis has just opened in downtown Orlando and we were looking for a place on NYE that could hold 7 people with a last minute reservation and they had one. The location is a little obscure on the opposite side of bustling downtown and closer to Colonial, in the bottom of an office building. I can see why it's mostly a lunch/happy hour spot, but we were pleasantly surprised that the location was close to where we were staying. I'm giving my pros/cons with the understanding that 1) it's new and kinks are still being worked out and 2) it was NYC and when we got there was packed: Pros: * The food was REALLY good. We ordered the greek sampler (tarasalata, hummus, tzaziki and baba ganouj with cut pita and yum, yum, yum. We also ordered the spanikopita, which was SO good and I had the octopus app for my meal, which was very well done, but was over tomatoes and I would have preferred if it was over hummus to be a little more filling. * Location - felt safe, was easy to get to via car or veo. On NYE, they validated parking. * Ambiance was great, there was a belly dancer and the restaurant was bustling, but not too loud and lit, but also had a nice festive feel. NYE also had a glass of free champagne, so it was a nice touch. Cons: * The service was SLOW. Again, this was NYE, but they only had 2-3 servers working that I saw it took an absolutely ridiculous amount of time for a 9pm reservation. We were there for over 2 hours and after 10, there were very few tables and service was still slow. This is the reason behind my 4 stars vs. 5. * They advertised plate throwing, so we envisioned Taverna Opa! from Pointe Orlando type of feel, but not even a napkin was thrown (the flip side is it wasn't a dangerous environment! :D) I would definitely come back given the quality of the food, but wanted to give a full review of my experience! read more
