I stopped in here to find orange blossom water for a cocktail recipe. It's a small Persian market and restaurant with a few tables to enjoy your food. Everything looked so delicious, but we had already eaten that day. I'm excited to come back for some tabbouleh. At checkout, the staff were friendly and helpful when I asked for a recommendation on one of the several choices of Dubai chocolate bars they had. Pros: Really great location. Right in the middle of greater Orlando. Convenient to get to. And the ambiance inside was so cool. Tons of items to browse while you're waiting for your food. We have a process that is basically a random number generator to pick new restaurants to try out. This time, I hit the jackpot. I had heard of the Shiraz Market for a long time. Even Andrew Zimmern has talked about this place. So we show up, place an order for takeout, buy some bonus Dubai chocolate, and get out. Ambiance is awesome. As a person interested in trying everything from every culture, it was very easy to kill time browsing the market while my food was being prepared. We were getting ready for a movie night, so we also got like four new beverages to try that we've never had before. Very fun. Service was awesome. Very friendly folks, very prompt service time for the food, just overall a very pleasant experience. The food was absolutely banging. Best Middle Eastern food I've had in all of Orlando. We started off with an order of falafel. Very crispy little fritters with a not-too-dry interior that provides a pleasant chew. Served with a delicious, smooth, tahini dipping sauce. Really good. For the main event, we got a big platter of kebabs. Chicken and lamb, some normal chunks and a couple of kefta style. Served over a giant platter of rice, some slightly pickled onions, and a nicely charred tomato. The meat was very delicious. Nicely charred, super moist and juicy, cut into nice, bite-sized chunks. Seasoned to perfection. No bland chicken here. Rice was well cooked and very fragrant. The fresh veg on the platter helped add a nice pop to everything. Very very good stuff. We also got a couple of desserts. Not sure what they were called, but they seemed to be combinations of phyllo, honey, pistachio, organized in different manners. Very delicious. I loved them. I wanted to try the whole dessert cabinet. Anyway, overall, this was a five star experience easy. I will be back very soon to try some more delicious food, and I recommend you come, too. read more

Just don't go in expecting amazing Food: ***falafel platter *** loved the warm, fresh bread and solid falafel. How haven't I been here sooner? This is a wonderful market and deli/counter service Mediterranean restaurant with a small amount of seating. I went in for lunch on a Monday to find it quite busy, but everything moved quickly. You place your order at the counter and then you can shop while you wait, paying for everything including deli/hot food once it is ready. I tried the New York platter which is a combination of shaved chicken breast over rice, topped with white sauce (they also have a spicy sauce option), alongside a fresh mixed salad, hummus, and warm lavash bread. Looking for a vegetarian option, I ordered the falafel sandwich with fries and a drink and agreed to spicy tzatziki sauce when asked by the owner, who took our orders and was friendly and helpful. The sandwich was loaded with fresh falafels that boasted a lightly fried exterior and a very moist and rightly spiced interior. You've probably experienced the crunchy and or dry falafels that makes you wonder what you'll get at a the next place you're trying out. No fear here. Enough sauce and green lettuce and red onions in the wrap. Let me tell you about the wrap: fresh in-house made naan bread! All of these ingredients combine to make this an all-around satisfying sandwich. The fries were solid and plentiful. Two small containers of ketchup are included. So good was the sandwich that I returned two days later to buy an falafel sandwich for my colleague who flew in from out of town and for me. This time while I waited, I strolled through the store and found unique (to me) canned and bottled food and candy items. (The grilled olives with garlic looked interesting to me.) Anything you order at Shiraz market you can't go wrong. 5 stars for food I can't put down, literally won't put my fork down. We normally order the combo platter, $13 that comes with chicken and ground meat, a fried tomato, basmati rice, lime and some red onions. The potion of rice alone is massive and enough for two people. It comes with tahini and a spicy sauce, I have to say I wish they offered bigger containers. This time we ordered ahead but it wasn't ready when we got there. It was nice to check out their new space, much bigger than Shiraz's previous location. So many different things to explore. Grabbed some Paratha $2, falafel with sesame, $4 and huge pita $2.5. There were so many dips to choose from when we checked out, we grabbed Haydari. It's a yogurt mint dip, excellent with the combo. There's so many things on the counter worth trying, we also got some baklava for dessert. One order comes with 4, for $4. They even let us do two different flavors 2 pistachio and 2 walnut. If you'd like to dine in there is a small counter top area at the front of the store, but take out is probably your best bet given the size of the place. My family raves about the gyros and kebab platters. I love the falafel. The best part is the hummus and various spreads. The warm pita is the perfect vehicle for soaking it all up. Worth fighting i4 traffic from Orlando! No matter where you live- you have got to try the food at Shiraz Market. I was devastated when the Persian restaurant I found in near UCF shut down a few years back and was so happy when I heard about Shiraz Market! I am Persian and moved to Orlando from the DC area almost 10 years ago and have missed the variety of Persian restaurants (and Persian home cooked meals) but Shiraz Market has filled that void for me. Not only does it remind me of the Persian restaurants in the DC area but it also reminds me of home. I have ordered online and in person and the service is always fast. They do not have much of a seating area since it is inside a market, so I suggest getting it to go and eating at home. 1000% recommend the beef kabobs they're my favorite but everything is great! read more

I have been shopping at Shiraz market for a few years now. The Persian food selection is amazing! However, I had never ordered from their menu before and have been looking for a great persian spot for kebabs. There are so few in Orlando and none from my town. I placed my order over the phone, I asked for the beef and chicken koobideh. When I arrived I asked again to make sure i was getting the chicken koobideh and was assured it was. Upon making it home (50 minutes away) I opened my meal. It was not chicken koobideh but chicken chunks which was exactly what I did not want. I has requested the chicken koobideh and had asked not one person, but two. Next time I will look before I leave and make the long drive home. The dish also came with parsley and not cilantro which is not traditional Persian food. At least not customary from the part of Iran my family is from. This should be a five star review but it is a 4 for both discrepancies. The food itself was Devine! The rice was buttery and the grains perfectly separated. The kebabs were fresh, flavorful and so authentic! Plump and juicy. Very excited to try the rest of their menu. There are plenty of chefs in the back creating beautiful meals for customers to-go. While waiting for my order, I decided to grab a seat inside (seeing as they have a few stools you can sit on and eat your meal while looking outside.) In all honesty, the way Shiraz Market is serving up Persian food is AMAZING! From the juicy chicken kabobs, tasty beef koobideh, all the way to the perfectly cooked rice - my lunch was delicious! True authentic Iranian food. I eat my grandpas kabab with my family almost weekly. This is the closest thing to it. Very juicy very fresh. They make their own REAL saffron ice cream which is an Iranian delicacy. All the staff is very polite and they were willing to serve us even tho we came in minutes before they closed.
