I haven't been feeling well for the last week so take out was in order. Saw the reviews for Bosphorus and had to check it out. Cons: small parking lot in front, side street parking and apparently parking in back though I didn't see how to get there. Tried to call ahead but they put me on hold and never came back. Service time - took about 1/2 an hour to produce 3 entrees and a Bosphorus appetizer platter for two. Restaurant is small and only has about 5 tables and seating for maybe 15. Two other orders along with mine were placed at about the same time. Referencing the item # from the menu really helps. It got a little confusing since there are different "Bosphorous " combos. Bosphorus appetizer for two was the one item that didn't blow me away on value. 2 small stuffed grape leaves, small portion of hummus and basically a standard Greek salad- about $10. Falafel was flavorful but pretty dense. Beef and chicken kabobs are actually small diced chunks of meat; meat appeared grilled with some char. The kebabs and meatballs were a little dry; the gyro meats seem to have that dried crust from being cut in advance. Pros - Value without doubt. Each entree could easily feed two. Ordered the Sultan plate for two and it was a to go clamshell stuffed to the top with the assortment of meat. All the meat had great flavor. Our favorites were the beef-lamb gyro and the chicken gyro - tender and flavorful. The stuffed grape leaves were delicious. We ordered the Bosphorus appetizer platter and wished we just ordered the grape leaves, though the hummus was very good. Owner and staff - exceptionally friendly. Warm handshake from the owner. Acknowledged and apologized for taking so long and already put in complimentary baklava in the bag....which was also delicious. Truthfully, the experience today is bumped up purely by the interaction with the owner. He was warm and friendly as was his staff. Food had a few shortfalls but nothing that can't get dialed in with practice. read more

YUM! Great food, great staff, great experience. We grabbed dinner here on a Thursday before a show at The Gothic and were not at all disappointed. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and offered a special off menu item. We ended up going with some veggies, meats, and side dishes. I'm a huge fan of grape leaves and these guys have some of the best- flavorful and moist. Nothing worse than a dry grapeleaf! visiting from out of town, stopped here cuz we saw it was highly rated. walked in seeing tons of turkish decor and a big turkish flag. best mediterranean food i have ever had by far. we got the dinner special to split among 4 people, it was 90 dollars and we could not finish it. had the most amazing chicken, shit was super tender and perfectly seasoned. gyro meat and steak were also peak. we got the rice and salad before the meat and we KNEW off of those alone we were gonna have an amazing meal. service was perfect too, absolutely no complaints. 4 tables inside so mildly gatekeep this place but give them more money so they can open more of these. read more

This Turkish restaurant is great! It's a tiny restaurant with maybe 3 or 4 tables. I have visited many times over the years. The food is always great and the service very friendly. Usually the owner (I believe) is working the restaurant. I usually take-out. I love the dolmas/stuffed grape leaves. I once got a few pounds if their gyro meat for a small gathering and it was a big hit. I tried many items on the menu and always great. read more

My friend and I were in the mood for a Mediterranean lunch and chose this place based on price and location and it was a definite win! So much charm and culture in the intimate dining room even the Turkish tea and coffee were served in traditional ware. The food was delicious and the one man operation, (at least that day,) was friendly and efficient. I learned by reading on the menu that the restaurant is named after the first of three bridges that connect the East and the West and they hope to do the same with their culinary offerings. Best Turkish Restaurant I have had in awhile. My girl and I split the Sultan Platter and it was a huge portion and it was extremely delicious. Had a mix of meats chicken and beef-lamb gyro, chicken and beef kebab, 2 meatball kebabs topped with grilled green peppers, onions and tomatoes. Served with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pita bread and choice of fries, rice or salad). I can see why this restaurant gets rated in the top 50 in Denver. It lives up to the rating. Amazing little place with an incredible owner! I had been craving Turkish food for quite a while and was excited to see this place was right by the hospital where I had an appointment. I walked past two very fancy places that were packed for lunch, and I'm glad I did - this is a diamond in the rough! I ordered the İskender kebap and it was very tasty (though I think the sauce could have had more spice). The prices are incredibly reasonable and the food is great. But the overall best part was that the owner and chef asked me if he could sit and chat, and I was so glad I said yes. He's an incredibly nice and well-traveled man who makes you feel right at home. He doesn't do any advertising and prefers to have news spread by word of mouth - and please take it from me, it's worth it! It's a small unassuming place with a big flavor and an even better ambiance thanks to the owner. A friend showed me this place after his own friend told him about it and we decided to check it out, not gonna lie the place is the very definition of a hole in the wall restaurant, though I mean this is only the best way. Its a one man operation with the food cooked off just to the side so you can see everything that goes into its making. The owner is a nice dude and we had nice talk with his while ordering our food and during the meal itself. The place is tiny with maybe 4 tables in total but it works for what is. I don't go to Mediterranean restaurants that often but me and a few friends, whom all share close to the same birthdays, decided to go to this gem to celebrate. Let me tell you, this place may be small, but their food and customer service speak volumes! The chef makes their own authentic yogurt tzatziki sauce and their chicken gyro meat was delicious. They were kind enough to surprise us with grilled pineapple for dessert. I can see they genuinely love what they do and to ensure their customers are happy. This place had takeout during the covid pandemic. The man was friendly with a positive attitude and even offered me a free side of hummus along with my order. It is a small place, I would probably not some in because of the small dining area. For me getting the food to go is important. There was hand sanitizer and the employee wore personal protective equipment. I got the gyro sandwich with fries. The meat was tasty and the salad and sauce on the gyro was fresh. This is the issue with a lack of turkish food here.... no one knows what its supposed to be so they're impressed by what they got. I was so excited when Bosphorus opened as I LOVE Iskendar Kepab. Its supposed to be slices of salty gyro meat over soaked pita bread covered in an oily tomato sauce and covered with garlic yogurt! Translation- delicious and stewy and an explosion of flavors. What I got was unseasoned tomato sauce- about 2 tablespoons worth over dry chunks of bread and little curls of gyro meat. It was so dry we asked for extra sauce which I'm pretty sure was one step away from the Hunts Tomato sauce can. I am sad that people who don't know better don't get the full experience. I can't say we'll ever come back, we'll just wait for the next Turkish restaurant to open! read more

Another quarantine discovery. Note the owner (whomever waited on me) was not wearing a mask and didn't keep distance. I'm not taking points away, just thought people should know. I do not recommend getting appetizers. The portions of entrees were ridiculously large. The grape leaves were different from one's I've had in the past, but in a very good way. I tasted a hint of citrus which really brighten them up. The Falafel was nice and crunchy, perhaps a little dry but good. We also got the hummus and I didn't have the capacity to even try it. My wife said it was yum. My main was the Iskander Kabob. I was feeling adventurous and was not disappointed. The gyro meat was tender and flavorful. It really was a portion for two. My wife enjoyed the gyro salad. She too thought the meat was wonderful. She noted freshness of all the ingredients. There were only two kalmatta olives and two pieces of feta in her gigantic salad. Many places make salads with half iceberg lettuce to keep costs down. Not here, all romaine lettuce. The value is very good. The food is fresh. This place is local. I was so excited when I found out that Denver was getting a Turkish restaurant! I love coming here, the food is great. My favorites are the Iskender plate and the donner sandwich. This is a small restaurant and the owner cooks everything in the kitchen right next to the dining area. He is a great man, very proud of his food, and will always stop by to make sure that you enjoyed your food. Leave room after your meal for tea and baklava, you won't regret it! read more
