I think the reason this restaurant does well is because the food is beautiful (but it doesn't taste very good). -Mediocre service -The restaurant itself is pretty but had no vibe -The smoked salmon crackers were ok (a bit too fishy) -Did not really enjoy the street zucchini -The She Loves Me Burrata was the best part of the meal. The figs were delicious and I love the combination of burrata with cantaloupe. -Was not a fan of the King Salmon. Lacked flavor -My family did not like their Mayan Pesto Chicken- nothing special -The Italian plums and almonds dessert was unique but not delicious I don't mind paying a lot for a good meal, but this one hurt. Locally owned Michelin starred restaurant with a 5 course or chef's tasting menu nightly. The portions appear small but by the end of it you are very full. My husband dined here last year on our first trip to Aspen and made a return visit this year. Dare I say, our second visit was even better than the first. We sat at the bar and were thoroughly entertained by Justin, the bartender, as we dined on delicious food, cocktails and wine. I've been going to Aspen for a ski trip every year, my favorite restaurant has been CasheCashe, but it might be changing... I found Bosq when I asked the little nell concierge to make dinner reservations this past February, they recommended Bosq saying the new hottest restaurant, so I looked it up online, decided to give it a try. We walked in, the place is small, so the restaurant including the bar area was packed, but we got seated right away with a nice welcome. We'd pre-ordered Peking duck, so we just had to pick a couple of appetizers. We picked beef tartar and duck liver mouse, beef tartar wasn't the traditional style that we are used to, but it was delicious and so was duck liver, lot of flavors, asian inspired, so yummy! We should've just ordered one Peking duck and got more appetizers, but my boyfriend wanted to get his own entree so we got 2 ordered of Peking duck, but lots of duck and we both couldn't finish it.. We wanted to come back the next evening, but of course we couldn't get a reservation in such a short notice, so next Aspen trip for sure. Bosq nails it on every level and is definitely deserving of its Michelin star. The food, the service, the seating, the ambiance, are all exceptional. I had been wanting to go for the longest time and on our most recent trip, I waited too long, and all reservations were taken. In addition to setting the Notify Me tab, I used the Contact form to let them know of our interest and availability, and after a few exchanges with the very kind co-owner/chef's wife, Molly, we managed to get a table in the dining room on the last evening before they closed for the season. It was well worth the wait. We opted for the 5 course menu, and appreciated that we could each make different selections and were not obligated to have the same thing at each course as is the case in some tasting menu restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the roasted duck with endive, the duck liver mousse and the bison tartare. Every bite of each item, as well as the several amuse bouches, was absolute perfection, beautifully presented and timely served by professional staff. We were assisted in the selection of a bottle of wine by the knowledgeable sommelier, who hit the target with his excellent advice in narrowing down our choices on the extensive wine list. While this is surely a special occasion restaurant--and in a league of its own in Aspen--I highly recommend Bosq for any occasion and cannot wait to go back again this summer. read more

Bosq came highly recommended from our concierge, I don't know why. She recommended several restaurants and we chose four nights of fine dining, together. We loved every place but Bosq and it was the most expensive. $513 for two people: 4 cocktails, two $130 four course dinners, a glass of cab and two coffee drinks. The food was unusual but good, the portions were tiny. Everything but the entrees could have been served in the tiny bowls they use for salsa at Mexican restaurants! The service was good. They should warn you in advance the portions are tiny and you will leave the most expensive four course meal in town, still hungry. We ate at Jimmy's, 7908 and Steakhouse 316. Each was excellent, we left full and each was $75-100 less expensive. I hate to ding a restaurant but Bosq stands out as a ridiculously expensive dinger in my experience. read more

We came here the other night and have a mixed review. Definitely get a seat on the patio, the dining inside is very stuffy. The smoked salmon crackers were so good, I would order again for sure. The sweet and sour eggplant was a bit too sweet but good overall and the tempura shiitake was amazing. Enjoyed our time at Bosq and Dabra the waitress was amazing. The place is tiny so make sure to make a reservation beforehand during the high season. We started with the smoked salmon crackers which was amazing and would highly recommend it if you enjoy salty crispy stuff. Next we had the cauliflower soup which was light and just ok, didn't like the hot stone they have in the middle which makes eating the soup much harder. Next had the rabbit confit which was tasty and great for two to share. As for main dishes we went with the octopus and the pecking duck bosq style. The octopus was the winner between the two although the duck was good as well, but was a bit tough to chew for my taste. Finally we finished off with the chocolate ganache s'mores which was light and good, personally I would like something sweeter. Came here on honeymoon. Food was 5/5. Our server Emma was 2/5. She greeted us extremely rudely when we entered, and then proceeded to act like the dietary restrictions we told her about (my wife is pregnant) were basically an inconvenience to her and she ignored them (raw steak sent back twice). For the price, service should be great but definitely was not the case. We booked Bosq, reading it was a nice upscale place for my ladies bday. Peking Duck is its highlight, we have heard. We booked reservations to make sure we had a spot during Covid. The place is very very nice with maybe 5 tables inside. We sat down and order the best from the menu. I can tell you the main service lady seems like she was not enjoying our business. I felt uncomfortable with her. Their food looks amazing but was less than par. I understand Aspen being an expensive getaway, But I dont like being ripped off. We are okay supporting small business during covid but this was ridiculous. for crappy food. $380 for a 4 course meal for my wife, I got the 5 course. and two bottle sparkling water. No alcohol. I ate here with my husband on day 2 of reopening with the summer menu, and we both were blown away by our meal. We ordered the 4 course tasting menu and wine pairing. We were so impressed by the creativity behind each dish. We enjoyed how the chef uses local ingredients from the surrounding area and incorporates them into the dishes. Creative culinary experience well worth the visit!!! Staff is amazingly welcoming and fun. The ambiance is hip and modern. But the food is the show stopper. Tempura shiitake mushrooms with an aged soy aoli is simply cravable. The Peking duck confit buns are deeply flavorful. And the carne asada tacos on blue corn soft shell are well balanced savory delights. My only knock is the civice'd green tomato that is served on the side with it is over the top and too bold in acidity. The taco stand great all alone. I have seldom enjoyed a better ribeye steak. The outer crust appears to have been seared in duck fat to bring out a bold balance of flavors with every bite. I personally do not enjoy cooked salmon but we ordered one and this could make me a convert. The cocktail list is creative with an equally impressive wine list. I encourage anyone to sit at the bar as it is more social and enhances the fun of the small space. I hope Bosc can stay great for the long haul like Piñons, Steak 316 and Matzuhisa. read more

Wow, what a great restaurant, my new favorite when in Aspen. The Chef's menu is so creative with an Asian influence. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes. We ended up trying the small plates and sharing. Started with the tempura shitakes and a craft cocktail I had the barrel Negroni, my husband had the Puma. The next plate was the duck liver mousse, so tasty. The fried eggplant was so good, I wish I could have seen how it was prepared. We moved on to the winter greens, check my pic, it was beautiful. The scallops were seared perfectly and paired with more vegetables. We both had a white wine and a red wine to accompany the small plates. The wine list is good, we tried the Sincerre, Columna Albarino, Ruet Beaujolais, Cote du Rhone Villages. The atmosphere is beautiful, service impeccable, just a great dinner out. Living in Crested Butte the winter drive is a little long, but can't wait till summer to return, drive over Kebbler Pass is quicker. Absolutely try this restaurant. Possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to... Every dish was amazing. I did a lot of tasting menus in Italy this summer in Capri and Lake Como - this beats all of them no question. Also, the service was best ever... I was at the bar and highly recommend. The bar tender was so nice, attentive, and knowledgeable of the dishes. He checked in constantly and explained every dish in detail and talked about the chef and the restaurant. This is the only chef owned restaurant in Aspen and it really shows. You can see and taste the care and thought that goes into every dish and the use of local ingredients is phenomenal. They forage local items, use local elk, etc. There was a local mini candied pinecone that I loved on the gelato. The scallop and elk was cooked perfectly. The bar top has a gold dog trinket embedded in it representing the chef's dog, meaningful portraits are hung, etc there is just so much thought, care, and love in the restaurant you can tell the team loves what they're doing and it makes all the difference and shows in the food, service, and ambiance. Waffling in rating due to a few factors. Food overall was good. Butterscotch pudding out of this world good. Pork Belly Tacos - not good. Shiitakes & eggplant - so good Wagyu so so good. Duck - so so good. Salmon - so good. Service was sub par and sloppy for a variety of reasons, but one made a real difference in our experience. As someone who lives in a tourist town, I totally understand that you've got to make your local customers a priority, make them feel appreciated etc so that they keep coming back - and that was apparent. So much so that as a visitor, it was clear our level of satisfaction was not important. We're huge fans of small chef owned and operated restaurants and we plan our vacations around food (literally), so I was disappointed that every other table was approached by the chef/owner except ours. There was a distinct difference in tone and energy from our server at our table vs the others on site. I get it, it's shoulder season, you're all about the locals, but it doesn't feel great to obviously be the outsider. Food should bring people together and servIce will make or break an experience.
