I know that I am in great hands with her when John is unavailable - the color is top-notch 100% of the time (I met John first). Anna is my stylist, and she is JUST AS AMAZING!!!!! I have been going to her for almost as long as I have been going to John Blue. Everyone compliments my haircuts, and she does every kind of cut amazingly, she has catered to several haircut whims of mine over the years ... also does hair extensions (had those too, likewise perfect) and straightening/keratin treatments (that maintain the health of your hair because everything is natural at the salon, no toxic chemicals or bad smells). A shout out to Reina - she is fantastic as well - she has cut the men's hair in my life and done an awesome job. She has put in and taken out my extensions and made them look so natural. I recommend Alison for Coloring and Ramona for Cut. I've gone to Boss for several coloring and cut apts, even brought my mom, and always had perfect experiences. Alison is super talented and great at bringing your hair ideas to life. I recently moved and waited to visit Chi again to get her to do my hair. Unfortunately, she had a family emergency and I rescheduled with John and Rayna. I wouldn't recommend them bc 1.) John is very skilled but I did not experience the same level of execution as w/ Alison; my balayage is fresh but he missed on key things I shared (lighter for spring, esp front piece). 2.) Rayna is newer, but I had many problems with my cut (my bangs were uneven and my layers are choppy). She graciously fixed my bangs, but for $95 getting the cut right is important. Overall, this salon is high-quality (also gotten a great cut from Aaron) but you should always do your research on who you book. Look at their works on IG and provide as much context of what you want as possible. Also, try not to get your hair styled after the cut bc the styling can make the actual cut look diff. read more

I've had my hair colored by Allison twice over the past six months (I live out of town). She helped correct my color both times and with very little chit chat before. She looks at your hair and just gets it. Also, she's normal! Not weird or snobby or anything that would make you feel uncomfortable about asking for exactly what you want. Plus she actually concentrates when she's working on your hair. I love that! Everything about this salon is perfect. I parked right across the street fo' free (on the street, not in the lot). The receptionist is super friendly and accommodating. The vibe of the slaon is casual, not at all pretentious and super cool. Even the shampoo dude German is fun. Allison uses Original Mineral hair color (non toxic), and I love the way the reds come out. I have been coming here for 2 years and I absolutely love it. Everyone is so nice and friendly. I I go to Aaron for cuts and John Blue for color. I wanted a little darker tint for my wedding and John did an amazing job picking the right shade that was very subtle but I got a lot of compliments! My husband goes to Ramona and she does the best job on his hair. We don't trust anyone else to do it after a couple horrible experiences at other salons! I was lucky enough to be one of the very first clients at the new Boss Hair Group. I was definitely "WOW'D" from beginning to end. Upon walking in to the salon you are greeted with colorful, fun walls and chairs, and upbeat music. The layout is perfect for a small, intimate setting where you can toss all of your cares out the window and just relax with your favorite stylists, confident that you will leave with a gorgeous head of hair. Boss is a green salon, so most of the waste is recycled/re-used (including the hair you just had chopped off!) My colorist Alison recently moved to this new salon and of course I followed because she is the Queen of the Reds. More on that later....first the salon. In short, it's gorgeous. I loved the decor, very Bowie-esque, warm staff, eco-friendly, overall a lovely place to get pampered. I went in for my color and tried a keratin treatment as well. I have very long, thick, curly hair that I really struggle with in the summer with the humidity. If you're interested in addressing frizz without losing curl pattern or body I can say this is worth trying! My hair is noticeably softer and considerably more workable. Curly gals...you know that's worth it's weight in gold this time of year. On to color. Alison has been doing my color for twenty years and trust me she knows her stuff. Over the course of two decades she has taken me up and down the color spectrum from deep brown to blonde, purple, blue, you name it and nailed it every time.
