I'm going to give this place five stars which I rarely do but let me tell you why. The service was good. It wasn't amazing but it was good. The food came in a very timely matter the waitress and anyone working there seem to be very nice and respectable. The ambience is giving very sexy mode, not rowdy, but you can tell this is definitely a hang out spot for adults. It is dark in there they do have table lamps, but I love it. My child did come with so this kid friendly. The food was definitely a nine out of 10 And not so much of just the taste I'm factoring in the presentation as well. The sticky rice was amazing. I mean the shrimp had the perfect type of heat mind you I did Houston restaurant week. So I got three course meal for $39. My first course was the sticky rice 9.5 out of 10 My second course was the fried chicken smothered with gravy and mushroom mashed potatoes and kale greens .. I'm gonna give it a eight out of 10 because I did not like the mushrooms. This gravy wasn't seasoned very well, but it was still very good. My last course was the brownie and oh my God it was absolutely delicious I think that was like my favorite part. I really wanted to order another brownie because it was really good. Ok, I've came here before for brunch many moons ago. It was actually when Kobe Bryant died in the helicopter crash :( So it was long overdue to come back to try their dinner. I was definitely disappointed. It was HRW 2025 but we didn't order off the HRW menu. We ordered the tomato and basil flatbread (added chicken as an upcharge) and the mini burger sliders. The flatbread was decent. However, the mini burger sliders were gross. It was delivered to us cold and seemed old. So we sent it back and got another flatbread. We also added the Brussels sprouts without the Blue Cheese; that was ok. I ordered the Tequila Sunrise and honestly should have sent it back. It wasn't good, didn't taste any of the watermelon-it was mostly bitter. Our server was ok. We asked the veteran discount and instead of saying I'm not sure, it was an instant no. When my friend stated that the Woodlands location honors veteran discount, she went to ask, I'm assuming the manager and it was honored. So does this location honor veteran discounts or what????????????????? Parking lot is available, valet is tips based and a nearby garage is accessible. Probably would not come back at all for dinner. We came here for brunch on a Saturday around 11am. We did have a reservation and I do recommend getting one. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there were quite a few tables already occupied but it's a pretty spacious restaurant. Our waiter, Ashley, was so great! She was funny, helpful, and attentive. We did not have to want for anything while having her. I started with The Dream cocktail and it was amazing. I don't think I realized I loved apricot until this cocktail. So good! I highly recommend. It's light and just enough to trick you into thinking there's no alcohol in it. For main entrees we had the butter burger with waffle fries and the Short Rib Chilaquiles. Both were delicious but I would say the Short Rib Chilaquiles was more flavorful and tasteful and didn't need anything extra to complete the dish. The butter burger was good but I had to start dipping the burger into ketchup to add more flavor. The waffle fries were good on their own and didn't even need ketchup which was a win there. I had Bosscat bookmarked for the longest time, and I finally got around to stopping by... it was well worth the wait The exterior is modern and chic. Everything outside (patio, entryway, signage, etc) is as clean and tastefully put together as the decor inside. The interior is both elegant and somewhat eclectic. There is plenty of seating. The decor and fixtures pop out but in an appealing way. There is a fully stocked bar and a very neat and gorgeous whiskey tasting room The staff were exceptional. Everyone was beyond pleasant, polite, and professional. The entryway door was opened for us long before we stepped inside. We were seating immediately, and had our choice of seats. We were greeted by our server who was fantastic. The menu was briefly reviewed with us. Our drinks and appetizer came out in a timely manner, and was quickly followed by the rest of our meal. Our appetizers were packed up togo, and when we could barely eat one more morsel the rest of our meal was packed up. It was incredible service I love their brunch menu. There is something for everyone, and you can find all the classics... most with a slightly elevated or fusion take. The cocktails are solid. Everything was amazing. It was a delightful experience Some tips: Self parking is somewhat limited. You can find it along the streets that surround the shopping area. They also have a valet. The cinnamon roll is a MUST. It is absolutely massive, rich, and the roll consistency is less doughy and more layered almost like a filo dough. You can also make reservations online. From the outside this place was very cute. Down fall is no parking and valet only which i hate. We parked on the street. Walking into the place you are greeted by a wonderful host and very cute decor. We were seated immediately and had the pleasure of meeting our wonderful server EK. He was friendly, sweet, knowledgeable and hilarious. He made our 1st time experience better than what I could have imagined. We went during happy hour which was also a plus. We ordered the korean sliders, short rib grilled cheese, corn poppers (corn fritters), and fries. Everything came out very fast. The short rib grilled cheese was my favorite. The bread it came on was perfect all the way around and giving in that special crunch. The korean sliders were a little dry but once I added mayo to it, it gave it the extra moisture it was missing. The fries were bigger than steak fries and cooked to perfection. The corn poppers were my least favorite, in New Orleans we call them corn fritters which is basically bread batter with pieces of corn. I thought I was ordering something completely different. Bosscat is a great place to grab dinner as the service there is exceptional. The servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable while the ambience is relaxed. As for food: Short rib grilled cheese: 5/5 definitely the star of the show with the perfect crispy bread and tender beef. I dream of it. Crispy chicken burger: 4/5 not all that crispy but was still a solid choice. I wish they could have done something more interesting with the sauces. I'm back in Houston to work and visit every few months. I always try to eat at Bosscat Kitchen. Their food is beyond delicious in my book. The sad part is, they are closing this place down at the end of the month! First, Eloise Nichols closed down across the way from Bosscat Kitchen and now, one of my favorite places to eat in the Galleria area is closing down as well. We are going to miss Bosscat Kitchen. Their menu selections are all delicious and reasonably priced. Our server was efficient and friendly. She asked us about we were celebrating and since we had September birthdays in our group, she also revealed that she was a September baby. As for the ambiance, it may be masquerading as a sports bar but it is more of a specialty restaurant to me. Overall, I'm glad that we've enjoyed the food here and pretty soon, they'll relocate close to the Galleria. We will drive there but not to their restaurant in the Woodlands! read more

I always enjoy my time at Bosskat. It's a cute. Classy little brunch spot that's great for a date, a few friends, family etc. Today I came to celebrate a friend's birthday and we got to sit in the whisky room which was really cute! I ordered the boss lady drink which I feel was like their spin on a side car and it was really good. I for the steak and eggs for my entrée which came with a side of potatoes. The steak was a little salty but the chimichirri helped make the whole meat better. 3.5 stars rounded down because of the price/quality ratio. The ambiance of Bosscat Kitchen is really amazing. The decor is impressive and gives a ready-to-brunch vibe for the weekend. People are dressed nicely but not over-the-top. As vegetarians, options are always limited, so we were not surprised by the limited selection for us. Nonetheless, the chilaquiles sounded interesting, but the server confirmed the ability to customize the breakfast burrito (so we did - subbed mushrooms and avocado for the meat) and ordered the Fruity Pebbles french toast (which was raved about in previous Yelp reviews). The burrito was good, but there was a paltry amount of salsa initially served, and oddly enough, it was not served with a spoon, which made using the salsa incredibly annoying (I didn't want to bother the server to ask for one, but I'm sure they would have accommodated). The burrito was good; nothing ground breaking per se, but a really great mix of breakfast flavors. The Fruity Pebbles french toast was a bit of a let down (not bad, just was hoping to my socks knocked off, and it was just good). The flavor highlight was the Fruity Pebbles, which I would not have expected. The bread used was okay, and a bit dry, though the condensed milk helped with that. Oddly, the servers kept coming by to take our plates when they thought we were done, and it was quite a bit too aggressive (multiple times coming around to try and take plates when we were still eating). This did mar the experience a bit, but still an overall enjoyable experience. Given the limited vegetarian options, and that the food was fine - probably not a revisit for us, but I'm sure will be great for others and definitely worth an initial visit! read more

I was in town for the weekend and wanted to find the perfect place for brunch. After searching on Yelp, I came across Bosscat & it did not disappoint. We walked over from our hotel but there was a parking lot with plenty of space for parking along with street parking nearby. We had a reservation but it wasn't busy at all so we were greeted and seated pretty quickly. At first I was a little sad bc I wanted the burrata and jam but that was not available for brunch. We started with the beignets they came with a lemon curd dip that was topped with marshmallow and let me tell you this was EVERYTHING! The beignets themselves were soooo soft and that lemon curd dip was to dieeeee for! Seriously, had I not been sitting down it would've made my knees buckle. We were definitely there to get down with the mimosas but stayed for the vibes and the food. For my main entree, I picked the steak sandwich and booooooy was it amazing. The steak was juicy, tender and super flavorful. Two friends and I decided to try Bosscat for Sunday Brunch, and I couldn't have been more excited to return after a happenstance Happy Hour visit just a few weeks ago. The brunch definitely did not disappoint! While waiting for my friends to arrive, I sat at the bar and chatted with Dan, the bartender, who was friendly and welcoming. He even recommended the ".38 Special" cocktail for when I return after "Dry January"--describing it as strong with a sweet finish. I'll definitely be giving that a try next time! She kept our water glasses full and made sure we had all the condiments we needed before we dove into our delicious brunch spread: * Smokehouse Benedict (with the egg fried hard) and a Solo Pancake on the side: The pancake was thick, fluffy, and so good I hardly needed syrup. The pulled pork was flavorful, and the crispy, roasted potatoes were perfection. The generous-sized biscuits went untouched since I already had a pancake. Next time, I'll know to skip the pancake and just grab some jelly for the soft, buttery biscuits! * Spicy Chicken + Waffles Sandwich: Presented beautifully--honestly, it could make Chick-Fil-A jealous! * My friends both ordered the Meili Punch, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The vibe was elevated by the DJ, who played music at just the right volume--enjoyable without interrupting our nearly 3-hour-long conversation. Not once were we rushed to leave! Overall I really enjoyed my experience. They asked if we were celebrating anything special and my sister was actually celebrating taking her Law School photos, nearing graduation. When we arrived they had a signed congratulations card and gift. The waitress was attentive with many recommendations. The place was a decent size and had many rooms to host small parties. The parking is a little cumbersome but typical for the area. The do have complimentary valet though. The food was really great as well. I enjoyed the egg rolls and the short rib + veggies. My friend from out of town really wanted a steak but our other friend didn't so didn't want to quite do a steakhouse. We split the 45 day whiskey dry aged ribeye that came with green beans and baby potatoes and it was awesome. Perfectly cooked and a really nice flavor plus the finishing salt. The green beans were some of the better restaurant green beans I have had. The potatoes were just ok. Kind of biting into a plain potato. I wish they were smashed or mashed. I've wanted to try Bosscat for a while and thought Houston Restaurant Weeks would be a perfect opportunity to sample their food. What strikes as odd/interesting is that most restaurants participate in HRW would have their tried and true staples on the HRW menu but it's not the case here. There's hardly any overlap between what's offered on HRW menu and their regular menu. We had very friendly service by Lindsay (?) and that's why I'm rating the place at 4 stars. When it comes to food, vegetarian options on the HRW menu are disappointing, although our friends' non-vegetarian selections looked great (and tasted good, too, according to them). My broccoli soup was confusing bc the little broccoli bits in the creamy tomato based soup were actually crunchy. Pesto pasta was definitely over cooked and lost the "bite". The desserts, lemon square & summer peach pie, were actually much better! Restaurant itself had nice decor, although the music was very loud, which made having a conversation a little challenging. Also, the seating arrangements here are mostly high tops, which are not the most comfortable. The staff is so friendly, especially this most recent time when I went for my birthday! The service was top notch and they even went above and beyond with a card containing a $10 off voucher AND a free dessert. We loved everything we got to eat, especially the shrimp and grits and their mac and cheese. I can't say enough good things about this mac... so gooey and cheesy and flavorful, 10/10. I can see this place being a lot of fun during the summer when they open the doors to the outside creating a really fun vibe. The cocktails are good but they also extremely costly for what you get. My one smoky old fashioned quickly jumped above $30. The sliders were just okay. Meat was burned too much around the edges. Same with the edges of the bun. It did not encourage me to order a burger. I absolutely loved the lemon meringue sauce that came with the beignets but apparently it was supposed to be a chocolate sauce. My friend ordered it because the menu said chocolate sauce so she was a little disappointed that it didn't come with it. I have not been to Bosscat in ages but was in the mood for some pork belly. I had a day off during the week and was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant empty with no wait. This place is usually buzzing and super packed. We were immediately seated and happy to see the offer the weekend brunch menu during the week till 3:00pm. We ordered the pig candy as a started and as always it was cooked to perfection and the sauce compliments it so well! My mom had short rib chilaquiles and I had the loco moco. My dish was interesting it was a beef patty, rice, gravy, and an egg on top. While I found the beef patty packed with flavor the gravy was pretty bland. So once I ran out of patty I had no real interest in eating the rice as it also lacked flavor. My mom had the chilaquiles and said they weee very delicious. First impressions: the restaurant is really nice inside, parking was really hard since there were so many people, however, we later found out there was valet! Service: Service was decent. Our server was really nice, however, food did take a while to come out. I would recommend ordering an appetizer or two for the wait. Food: I got the fruity pebbles french toast and a side of potatoes. I liked my food, however, I would say that the bread for the French toast was slightly crispier than it should be. I was expecting soft and flavorful, but it was crunchy and the flavor was ok. My bf got the steak and eggs, he said it was also decent, steak could've used a little more seasoning. I visited Bosscat on a Thursday night. The restaurant had a nice vibe and very clean. I was apart of a party of 3 and we sat at the bar. The service was very good and quick. I ordered the spicy brick chicken and was very disappointed. The description stated a crispy grilled chicken, dirty rice, and seasonal vegetables. The food was not as described. There was nothing crispy about the chicken, it was in fact bland and dry. The rice is not dirty rice. I can't really describe the rice but it's slightly greasy and its flavor profile is nothing similar to dirty rice. The seasonal vegetable I had was green beans with sliced mushrooms, I have no complaints about the vegetable. The family and I ended up visiting on a Friday for brunch right after the holiday. It was a little empty, which could be expected and we didn't mind. Just as others mentioned before, parking is limited, so be aware of that during busy times. Service was a little slow, but still friendly. Brunch is usually for Saturdays and Sundays, but a limited brunch menu was available that day. The 3 of us ordered the short rib chilaquiles, JT bowl and pancake breakfast. Food came out at a good time and everything tasted delicious! We didn't get to try any of the libations, but the menu looked interesting. We wanted to have coffee with brunch, but they only had drip coffee. Drip coffee is fine, but I noticed there's an espresso martini on the librations menu. Not sure if they were not offering espresso drinks at the time or that they do not have espresso available at all. Ambiance is very dark and warm. The doors were all open, which made the place very humid and uncomfortable. This visit was okay, but may have to try it out at a different time to see if I get a better experience. read more

My family is in Houston for a birthday celebration and we found this place on yelp. The service was what got them so many stars. The waitresses and waiters were so friendly and attentive! The ambiance was unique and the whole party enjoyed it. The chairs and decorations are unlike any I've seen. The food was hit and miss. The steak was chewy and under-seasoned. I'd recommend the dip sandwich and the pork chop the people at our table loved those. The dip sandwich had the most flavor. The egg rolls were also good as an appetizer but the pork belly and meatballs were average. Other members of my table had the salmon and it tasted a bit fishy. The chicken sausage pesto pasta was very good but needed a slight more salt. The food was too pricey for not being top tier. The steak was $38 and you could get a better one at Walmart. Thos place was great. Staff was very welcoming and ambience was very pleasing allowing for many occasions and demographics. Great spot for a date night, friend outing or quick bite. I had the 12 hour short rib, pigeons candy and bacon jam with burrata cheese. All were exceptional and very nicely executed. I am very happy to habe stumbled upon this location and will definitely be back for dinner and brunch. Had a great experience here for Sunday brunch, the Dj was definitely playing the right tunes and service was pretty good. If you're not into gluten free banana pecan pancakes, do not order the pancake item. My guest overlooked the GF next to that item and had to order something else. Eggs were not salt and just not a very good tasting dish. For GF folks you may enjoy it. Nonetheless, the chicken waffles sandwich I order was pretty good and the waffle fries were seasoned and crispy. The beignets were actually NOT good. I've made beignets and I've had beignets at multiple restaurants and these were the worst. It was the opposite of beignets, dense and overdone. Beignets are light, airy and tender anyways eat at your own risk with these lol. Y'all this place has been on my list for ages and I'm still pretty disappointed. First there's parking - which is limited and difficult if you're not willing to pay for valet. If you make it into the lot it is TIGHT. Next was service. I arrived during happy hour on a weekday, it was obviously early and there was plenty of options for seating. I stayed at the bar since I wanted to be quick. Bartender was quick and friendly to get my drink order - but as more folks arrived to start their shifts I was obviously forgotten in lieu of the most recent gossip and weekend plans. I had to waive the attention of someone to order food, another to get some water. When my food finally arrived, it was incorrect. I'd ordered the chicken sliders and grilled cheese - but was given two orders of the sliders instead. So then I had to flag yet another person down (since 6-8 people were continuously galavanting behind the bar) to get my correct order. Flagged a final person down for the check. What was supposed to be a quick drink and food togo took nearly two frustrating hours. ALSO there's no WiFi available for customers! And cell service is horrendous inside. It made the wait so much longer and more miserable. The only reason this place gets a couple stars is that the food was amazing. I'm probably gonna just UberEats next time read more
