We came here for brunch on a Saturday around 11am. We did have a reservation and I do recommend getting one. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there were quite a few tables already occupied but it's a pretty spacious restaurant. Our waiter, Ashley, was so great! She was funny, helpful, and attentive. We did not have to want for anything while having her. I started with The Dream cocktail and it was amazing. I don't think I realized I loved apricot until this cocktail. So good! I highly recommend. It's light and just enough to trick you into thinking there's no alcohol in it. For main entrees we had the butter burger with waffle fries and the Short Rib Chilaquiles. Both were delicious but I would say the Short Rib Chilaquiles was more flavorful and tasteful and didn't need anything extra to complete the dish. The butter burger was good but I had to start dipping the burger into ketchup to add more flavor. The waffle fries were good on their own and didn't even need ketchup which was a win there. I'd love to return.
Come for the whiskey, stay for the brownie & ice cream Bosscat Kitchen & Libations never disappoints, but their whiskey room alone is worth the visit -- an impressive selection that'll make any whiskey lover swoon. For Houston Restaurant Weeks, the wedge salad is crisp and flavorful, the pork chop dinner is juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the warm brownie with ice cream is the ultimate sweet finish. A must for both foodies and whiskey fans.
I had Bosscat bookmarked for the longest time, and I finally got around to stopping by... it was well worth the wait The exterior is modern and chic. Everything outside (patio, entryway, signage, etc) is as clean and tastefully put together as the decor inside. The interior is both elegant and somewhat eclectic. There is plenty of seating. The decor and fixtures pop out but in an appealing way. There is a fully stocked bar and a very neat and gorgeous whiskey tasting room The staff were exceptional. Everyone was beyond pleasant, polite, and professional. The entryway door was opened for us long before we stepped inside. We were seating immediately, and had our choice of seats. We were greeted by our server who was fantastic. The menu was briefly reviewed with us. Our drinks and appetizer came out in a timely manner, and was quickly followed by the rest of our meal. Our appetizers were packed up togo, and when we could barely eat one more morsel the rest of our meal was packed up. It was incredible service I love their brunch menu. There is something for everyone, and you can find all the classics... most with a slightly elevated or fusion take. The cocktails are solid. Everything was amazing. It was a delightful experience Some tips: Self parking is somewhat limited. You can find it along the streets that surround the shopping area. They also have a valet. The cinnamon roll is a MUST. It is absolutely massive, rich, and the roll consistency is less doughy and more layered almost like a filo dough. You can also make reservations online. I would suggest going in a group and sharing plates, because everything is tasty, instagramable, and relatively affordable Cheers!!
From the outside this place was very cute. Down fall is no parking and valet only which i hate. We parked on the street. Walking into the place you are greeted by a wonderful host and very cute decor. We were seated immediately and had the pleasure of meeting our wonderful server EK. He was friendly, sweet, knowledgeable and hilarious. He made our 1st time experience better than what I could have imagined. We went during happy hour which was also a plus. We ordered the korean sliders, short rib grilled cheese, corn poppers (corn fritters), and fries. Everything came out very fast. The short rib grilled cheese was my favorite. The bread it came on was perfect all the way around and giving in that special crunch. The korean sliders were a little dry but once I added mayo to it, it gave it the extra moisture it was missing. The fries were bigger than steak fries and cooked to perfection. The corn poppers were my least favorite, in New Orleans we call them corn fritters which is basically bread batter with pieces of corn. I thought I was ordering something completely different. Sadly I tried them but didnt like them. This place is definitely worth trying and the staff is very nice. Will def be back and hope to have EK as a server again.
Bosscat is a great place to grab dinner as the service there is exceptional. The servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable while the ambience is relaxed. As for food: Short rib grilled cheese: 5/5 definitely the star of the show with the perfect crispy bread and tender beef. I dream of it. Crispy chicken burger: 4/5 not all that crispy but was still a solid choice. I wish they could have done something more interesting with the sauces. We're definitely interested in coming back and trying out more of the menu
2nd review this weekend. I went back for brunch. This time I had the pancake breakfast adding 2 sunny side up eggs. Yummy. Pancakes fresh. Bacon cooked right. And the eggs. Again perfect. They had a DJ in house playing old time rock through modern pop. And anything g in between. Thr place was Hella busy but everyone worked smartly with a smile Then I went back for Sunday dinner. Calmer atmosphere. Less busy. Ordered spicy pork chop with mashed potatoes instead of cheesecorn. It was amazing. Finished off with apple pie and ice cream. That's evil yall. I couldn't stop. If your in the area. Stop.in. you won't regret it.
I'm back in Houston to work and visit every few months. I always try to eat at Bosscat Kitchen. Their food is beyond delicious in my book. The sad part is, they are closing this place down at the end of the month! First, Eloise Nichols closed down across the way from Bosscat Kitchen and now, one of my favorite places to eat in the Galleria area is closing down as well. We are going to miss Bosscat Kitchen. Their menu selections are all delicious and reasonably priced. Our server was efficient and friendly. She asked us about we were celebrating and since we had September birthdays in our group, she also revealed that she was a September baby. As for the ambiance, it may be masquerading as a sports bar but it is more of a specialty restaurant to me. Overall, I'm glad that we've enjoyed the food here and pretty soon, they'll relocate close to the Galleria. We will drive there but not to their restaurant in the Woodlands!
I always enjoy my time at Bosskat. It's a cute. Classy little brunch spot that's great for a date, a few friends, family etc. Today I came to celebrate a friend's birthday and we got to sit in the whisky room which was really cute! I ordered the boss lady drink which I feel was like their spin on a side car and it was really good. I for the steak and eggs for my entrée which came with a side of potatoes. The steak was a little salty but the chimichirri helped make the whole meat better. I will say the service was pretty slow today since we had one waiter for one party of 12 but other than that it was a cool experience.
We ate here during Houston Restaurant Week & what I had from that 3-course menu was amazing - wedge salad, super flavorful steak, and bread pudding! I also had a cucumber cocktail that was so refreshing. Atmosphere was super cool. Our server Dexter gave us a quick tour of the Whiskey Room and was very personable & accommodating.
3.5 stars rounded down because of the price/quality ratio. The ambiance of Bosscat Kitchen is really amazing. The decor is impressive and gives a ready-to-brunch vibe for the weekend. People are dressed nicely but not over-the-top. As vegetarians, options are always limited, so we were not surprised by the limited selection for us. Nonetheless, the chilaquiles sounded interesting, but the server confirmed the ability to customize the breakfast burrito (so we did - subbed mushrooms and avocado for the meat) and ordered the Fruity Pebbles french toast (which was raved about in previous Yelp reviews). The burrito was good, but there was a paltry amount of salsa initially served, and oddly enough, it was not served with a spoon, which made using the salsa incredibly annoying (I didn't want to bother the server to ask for one, but I'm sure they would have accommodated). The burrito was good; nothing ground breaking per se, but a really great mix of breakfast flavors. The Fruity Pebbles french toast was a bit of a let down (not bad, just was hoping to my socks knocked off, and it was just good). The flavor highlight was the Fruity Pebbles, which I would not have expected. The bread used was okay, and a bit dry, though the condensed milk helped with that. Oddly, the servers kept coming by to take our plates when they thought we were done, and it was quite a bit too aggressive (multiple times coming around to try and take plates when we were still eating). This did mar the experience a bit, but still an overall enjoyable experience. Given the limited vegetarian options, and that the food was fine - probably not a revisit for us, but I'm sure will be great for others and definitely worth an initial visit!
I was in town for the weekend and wanted to find the perfect place for brunch. After searching on Yelp, I came across Bosscat & it did not disappoint. We walked over from our hotel but there was a parking lot with plenty of space for parking along with street parking nearby. We had a reservation but it wasn't busy at all so we were greeted and seated pretty quickly. At first I was a little sad bc I wanted the burrata and jam but that was not available for brunch. We started with the beignets they came with a lemon curd dip that was topped with marshmallow and let me tell you this was EVERYTHING! The beignets themselves were soooo soft and that lemon curd dip was to dieeeee for! Seriously, had I not been sitting down it would've made my knees buckle. We were definitely there to get down with the mimosas but stayed for the vibes and the food. For my main entree, I picked the steak sandwich and booooooy was it amazing. The steak was juicy, tender and super flavorful. The bread it came on was nice and soft and that chimi churro sauce in the sandwich was *chefs kiss* The playlist was so much fun we were singing and dancing the whole time! I'm so glad we came across this place and got to experience Bosscat during my trip! Great service too! Thanks so much!
Two friends and I decided to try Bosscat for Sunday Brunch, and I couldn't have been more excited to return after a happenstance Happy Hour visit just a few weeks ago. The brunch definitely did not disappoint! While waiting for my friends to arrive, I sat at the bar and chatted with Dan, the bartender, who was friendly and welcoming. He even recommended the ".38 Special" cocktail for when I return after "Dry January"--describing it as strong with a sweet finish. I'll definitely be giving that a try next time! Natalie seated our party and was incredibly attentive throughout our visit. She kept our water glasses full and made sure we had all the condiments we needed before we dove into our delicious brunch spread: * Smokehouse Benedict (with the egg fried hard) and a Solo Pancake on the side: The pancake was thick, fluffy, and so good I hardly needed syrup. The pulled pork was flavorful, and the crispy, roasted potatoes were perfection. The generous-sized biscuits went untouched since I already had a pancake. Next time, I'll know to skip the pancake and just grab some jelly for the soft, buttery biscuits! * Spicy Chicken + Waffles Sandwich: Presented beautifully--honestly, it could make Chick-Fil-A jealous! * My friends both ordered the Meili Punch, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The vibe was elevated by the DJ, who played music at just the right volume--enjoyable without interrupting our nearly 3-hour-long conversation. Not once were we rushed to leave! The playlist even had some early 2000s hip-hop classics, including Big Tymers, which made me smile. (Big Tymers at a River Oaks brunch spot? That's what you call diversity, LOL. I love to see it!) EVERYTHING was good! I'm already counting down the days until I return for my birthday to try more of their brunch menu. Bosscat is quickly becoming a favorite!
Bosscat has a great atmosphere. I love the style of the restaurant it's definitely an upscale spot. My wife and I came in as we were close by and I've had Bosscat on my bookmarked restaurants for a while. We had the babies with us, whoops, definitely not the restaurant for kids. They were still very accommodating and didn't make it seem like we were inconveniencing them by having toddlers with us. We ordered the spicy chicken sliders for an appetizer and I ordered shrimp and grits for my meal. My wife had catfish. Both meals were about an 8/10 I also had an old fashioned. A place like this is a perfect fit for a classic old fashioned. However, it wasn't good at all. I'm a bourbon drinker and have had more old fashioneds than I'd like to admit, this wasn't good. It was excessive with the bitters and it took over the drink. The waitress noticed I didn't like it and insisted on replacing it for me with less bitters. Still wasn't good. Next time I'll just pick a bourbon and sip it neat. Overall, I think I'll check it out again on a date night with the wife and try a new menu item as well. Til' next time Bosscat read more
This place has a quiet, but upscale vibe to it. The ambiance is very chill and the entire place is kept very dim. It's a bit dark during dinner hours for my liking, but one can manage. I ordered the Heirloom Tomato Bisque that came with a grilled cheese and added a side of grilled chicken; hot, fresh, and delicious are the only words I have. The weather was below 50s so the bisque was perfect in that moment. I got the grilled chicken to pair with my grilled cheese and give me more protein with my meal. This made for a complete and tasty meal. I left satisfied. The service could have been better. read more
Well that Bosscat Burger sure hits the spot. Carrying the name of said restaurant, this burger comes in two variations, the normal and the "Chef's choice" which is the version I choose. The normal version has the in-house ground beef, white cheddar+ parmesan cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and comeback sauce. The Chef's Way switches it up with a different cheese, grilled onions, yuzu balsamic, and a few other extra ingredients. It certainly adds that little extra twist to your traditional burger, and it does taste like its price at $23 unlike other burgers that are in the $20+ range. The only small issue is that this burger packs a lot between the buns, so at least with mine, the bottom bun started falling apart. I feel this is just one of those burgers that's best eaten upside down so the top bun can soak up all the flavors without breaking apart too quickly. Still worth it, though! To complement this tasty burger, we have the potato wedges that are simply just perfect. Not too soft, not too hard, and seasoned just right. Overall, the food, the ambiance, and the live music makes this a great spot to have dinner, drinks, and fun. *now if only they get Amazon Prime Video so we can watch Thursday Night Football on the television, lol* read more
It's been a minute since I've been here but they were open for Labor Day and I thought they were going to have the Houston restaurant weeks menu for lunch but they did not. They said because it was a holiday they only had brunch. Boooo. Our waiter was great. He was nice and chill and easy. I left my card and the hostess called me and handed it to me when I came back an hour later. Great service. Still super cool inside. I came with my toddler and he sat still for all of the brunch and loved looking around at everything. Overall a good time and my Ham I Am was pretty tasty. Pancake was a little soft in the middle as in it was hard to get on a fork because it unfluffed itself into pieces. read more

We stopped by here for a few cocktails after dinner on a Monday evening. On walking in, we were greeted by staff who escorted us to a table near the front of the restaurant. We perused the menu and decided on the Good Life cocktail and a house margarita on the rocks. Our drinks came quickly, and we were quite pleased with them! The Good Life was one of their sweetest drinks but in the best way possible. If you're a fruit lover, this is the drink for you. We were told it is one of their most popular drinks, and could see why! It was refreshing and pleasant, not very spirit-forward at all. The margarita was similarly tasty! It was more on the spirit-forward side. Our server was very attentive and all the staff are very friendly. This would be a nice date spot, or for dinner with friends/coworkers. Hadn't been to Bosscat in a full calendar year. Definitely had a 5-star experience this visit. A few weeks before this visit, I made reservations. When we entered we walked up to the host/hostess stand to check-in, however we were NOT greeted. If you've read enough of my reviews this is my biggest damn pet peeve. While many people would rather not speak to management, I live for it. Greeting customers is easy as fuck in my opinion, yall wild. And yes you guessed it, we left immediately. So fast forward, to the visit we had recently...we walked in and we were greeted before we could get through the door. Energy! We were seated fairly quickly. It was early-ish, but it was still happy hour. I believe we had about an hour of happy hour to enjoy. Our waitress, let's call her T because I dont want to misspell her name. She was lovely! Attentive, not overbearing and open to answer questions. She ensured that she took our food/drink order before happy hour ended. Ordered a few items from the happy hour menu, as well as the lunch menu. Bosscat sent an email asking patrons to complete a survey for a 25 dollar gift certificate and yes I completed it and read them for filth. I used the certificate during my second visit and both our waitress and the manager honored it. The experience was filled with ease. Much appreciated given the past experience. I will definitely make my way back to Bosscat and I'm hopeful to have continued service that is respectful and friendly. The vibe is chill in Bosscat, slightly dim, but somewhat darker in the back area. The restrooms are very clean too, kudos to yall! I've been to Bosscat several times over the years, but this was my first trip back in about 5 years. I have always been a fan of the rustic, cozy vibe of the restaurant; it is dimly lit and showcases their impressive whiskey collection and there was live acoustic music (Thursday night). I was there with a group of 12 for a birthday dinner. We were able to all be seated together near the back of the restaurant and felt so comfortable in our space. Brianna was our waitress and she was AMAZING! She was efficient, respectful, got all of our orders correct the first time, and helped with recommendations for us. When I've gone to Bosscat previously, the food was average. It sounded good, but didn't all come together for me. I am happy to say that is no longer the case. I ordered the Bosslady cocktail (refreshing but with substance) and the crispy chicken sandwich- delicious! The majority of our group ordered the HRW menu; I was discouraged from some poor HRW menus elsewhere so stuck with the main menu and wished I did HRW, especially the steak! I highly recommend Bosscat. Especially for a romantic date night or cozy gathering with friends. read more

Cute place! Nice weekend vibe, and pretty good food. We came in on a Friday and had reservations that were honored on time. This place was super spacious inside, tons of seating. Food was good, but nothing memorable or brag worthy. The price points were a little high especially when you can't really make changes to your sides without an additional full side charge. The Salmon was the best dish at the table , and the fried chicken sandwich next. Service was friendly and attentive ! I would try a different menu at this restaurant (brunch or lunch) read more

Made a brunch reservation for 11 AM on a Monday for my birthday and we were the only ones in the restaurant for a solid 30 min. They serve brunch daily but it is pretty limited on the weekdays. My mom got the mushroom chilaquiles which was very flavorful and the tortilla chips surprisingly did not get super soggy after a while. With my steak, I was not given a steak knife which I think should have been obvious especially since we were the only customers there. I had to get up and ask the bartender for a knife after trying to chip away at it with a regular dull knife for 10 min. Potatoes were nice and crispy and eggs were well seasoned. Also got a free waffle & ice cream dessert for my birthday which was sweet. Towards noon or so, it started getting a little more busy and it seemed like our server was the only server working (aside from the bartender) so every table that came in went to her and she got even more hard to get a hold of. Service was very attentive and everyone was very friendly. Our party of 6 came in to try in the full HRW menu, and we all had a great dinner experience! Music is a little loud since we were sitting right next to the DJ, but good vibes. We also got a few cocktails and mocktails (too sweet imo). Our favorites from the HRW menu were the Spinach and artichoke dip, dirty rice eggrolls, Broccoli soup, and all of the main entrees were delicious. Best pancakes ever and amazing whiskey selection...am I in heaven and didn't know it?? Wow! I came across this restaurant while looking for brunch ideas and totally missed the whiskey aspect, so it was a pleasant surprise as a whiskey lover. The other pleasant surprise was how yummy the pancakes were. Typically, I've ordered out of the ordinary and have gotten pancakes--only to be slightly disappointed. These sweet pancakes were everything I needed and more. The decor is cool too...I got to sit in a fancy chair and our table was an old desk. Plus, ya gotta love the wall of whiskey in the private room. Our server recommended a good pour for me as well, so it sounds like they know their stuff. This spot is definitely on my must-visit list when I come to Houston! read more

Bosscat is participating in Houston Restaurant Week and we stopped by for a quick dinner. For $39, you get an appetizer, entree and dessert. For my appetizer, I went with the dirty rice eggrolls (Eggrolls stuffed with dirty rice + cheese, smoked Jalapeno dipping sauce). This was recommended by the server, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of flavor that came from it. I got the Texas style skirt steak (Char-grilled skirt steak, sliced thin, cowboy butter, mashed potatoes, seasonal greens) for my entree and the steak was cook perfectly and the mashed potatoes were good. They could've used less cowboy butter as it was a tad overwhelming, and the green beans could've been a little softer. Lastly, I went with the summer peach pie which is similar to their fried apple pie and was absolutely delicious! The perfect amount of cinnamon and a great flavor profile. To drink, additional cost, I got a strawberry lemon drop and the bartender made it perfectly. I could've had 5. Overall, very impressed and would definitely return the next time I'm in Houston! read more

Decent place to grab brunch, but definitely a bit loud and overpriced. I came by with a friend per my reservation. Despite us both providing my name for the reservation upon arriving separately, they sat us at different tables! It took us about 15 minutes to actually find each other and consolidate at one table. The place itself was really cute, but the music was quite loud. It was hard to have a conversation as we had to practically shout at each other. I think it would've worked better if we came for many drinks, but not so much when it's just food. As I wanted to try something healthy, I decided to go for the Power Greens Bowl and added chicken as a protein. I will admit, the portion was decently sized and the food tasted amazing! The greens were crisp, the dressing was flavorful, and the mushroom fritters gave it a unique twist that I absolutely enjoyed. However, $22 for a bowl just seemed a bit on the higher end all things considered. Overall, while I had a good time, I'd probably only come by if I wanted to grab drinks! read more

I ordered the short rib and...I can't even put into words how delicious it was. Super tender and smothered with a rich gravy. It definitely goes down as one of the best meals I ever had! I enjoyed Brunch on a Sunday morning at this restaurant. The restaurant is super cute. Very Rustic, casual and they okay great music! The food was all amazing, but the service could have been better. Not sure if my waitress had a bad day but she did not seem happy to take my order or provide any type of service to me. Definitely would've given it a 5 star review if the service was better. This is what I ordered: Breakfast in Bed Shot (5/5): I was feeling a bit uneasy taking a shot at 11AM but it went down soo smooth, no regrets ! It's Maple Bourbon with Orange Juice as the chaser with a slice of bacon. Soo good ! I highly recommend trying ! Iced Tea: (5/5): This is unsweetened but they do give you sugar so sweeten how you like it ! It was very refreshing. Short Rib Chilaquiles (5/5): I was pretty surprised with how flavorful this dish was. If it was a little spicy, it'd definitely be the best chilaquiles I've ever had ! The short rib was very tender and packed with so much flavor. It complimented the dish very well. Apple Cheesecake Waffle (5/5): So sweet but so good! I don't have a sweet tooth, but there was something about this dish that made me think otherwise. I highly recommend trying this, but I also do recommend ordering a savory dish as this dish is very sweet. Smokehouse Benedict (5/5): Highly recommend !! My rating would be a 3.5. Bosscat seems to have turned into yet another restaurant that's in the right location, but no longer has a WOW factor. - you must call for a reservation - not available online, and the first hostess i spoke with was a tad snippy on the phone. - hostess was very accommodating for the actual number of people who arrived for brunch The restaurant is neat and has a nice vibe. The waitstaff was very patient in explaining the menu and answering questions. The bloody mary was nothing exciting. The breakfast potatoes were cooked perfectly. The pulled pork benedict was dry - not enough hollandaise. The avocado toast was good but a bit bland. read more
Starting the Birthday week with a brunch!!!! This was a first time experience and what a great experience!!! Gold star to the entire staff and especially the chef!!! The parking was complimentary valet and to my surprise they gave a very warm welcome and wished me a blessed Birthday!!! That was a sure sign that whole experience was going to be phenomenal. Now for the eats!!! The chicken & waffle sandwich was sooooo flavorful....the waffles were rich like a cake and fluffy. I got a taste of the chicken fried steak and it was super tender with a crisp!!!! The manager Adrienne was very engaged and so accommodating...the customer service from Leslie was awesome & we thank her for keeping the mimosas pouring and the good times going!!! I visited this place on a birthday trip to Houston and it was very good. This was my first real trip to H-town and this was definitely one of the highlights. I had some small plates and drinks on this visit. The Kansas City meatballs were the first appetizer I had and they were sensational. I couldn't believe how tender and juicy the ground beef was. First and foremost, it is packed in here, and the noise level is quite high. If you were looking for intimate and chill, this is not it. The interior is nice though. Despite that, the array of tasty sounding cocktails and brunch items were definitely worth it. The Monte Cristo sandwich is not widely available elsewhere, so it was a delight to see it present on the menu. Theirs was tasty and not overly heavy. The short rib chiliquiles was played beautifully and had some great flavors coming from the red sauce. Went here for brunch while on vacation--it was the perfect cure to a late night the night before. Their spicy Bloody Mary was delicious and came with flamin' hot Cheetos on top! The short rib chilaquiles were SO savory and rich and delicious--highly recommend getting the egg on top. The restaurant had a cool hipster vibe to it, and there was a live DJ during brunch. Had this spot bookmarked since I moved to Houston; can't believe it took me this long to finally check it out a couple weeks ago but it was worth the wait! Planned a brunch with a friend of mine and didn't realize we needed to make reservations as the place was packed tighter than ants in a garbage can. Fortunately my friend who arrived before I did, found a couple seats at the bar that we posted up at. For drinks I started with a hot cheeto bloody mary while my friend ordered the dream cocktail. And it tasted like a dream with the orange color from the apricot and aperol although a bit too sweet for me. She loved it though. The hot cheeto bloody mary has what you'd expect: hot cheetos mixed in. A bit unorthodox especially when you're nursing your drink but provides some nice zazz to it and enjoyed sipping it. I ordered a sangria after my bloody mary; also tasty; maybe I should've started with that first. We started with tater tots to munch. Nothing needs to be said about those. Then we split a pair of entrees with the short rib chilaquiles with an added over easy egg and the monte christo sandwich. We probably should've only gotten one entree as the portions were quite large especially the sandwich which had a deep fried exterior with that powdered sugar drizzle. Very delicious and fried goodness although the cheese wasn't as melted as I hoped. Spread some of those fruit preserves on it, every bite was tasty. Also came with tater tots which made me wonder why we ordered a side in the beginning. Eh, no such thing as too many tots. The short rib chilaquiles was definitely my favorite dish by far. The red sauce mixed with the tortillas, brisket, sour cream, and avocado garnish was a great combination. And then breaking the egg and letting the yolk run over it, simply awesome! The meal was awesome and we look forward to returning. But next time we'll definitely want a table. The bar was packed up and they only had two bartenders so getting their attention was challenging with all the orders and service they were involved with. Fortunately when they saw us, they got us what we needed. That's how brunch goes at times especially when it's as slammed as this spot. read more

Why 4 stars? Because this was definitely a high quality lunch. --- --- --- I've had Bosscat bookmarked for years before I even moved back to the Houston area. Every time I'd come home to visit family, I wanted to come here, but never had the chance. Finally, with Yelp and Indiana celebrity, Brittany S in town, I was able to come up with a reason to get me down to visit Bosscat. I did a little menu-stalking ahead of time, and while there were many intriguing options, the burger stole my heart. And for an appetizer, I'm always a sucker for anything pork belly-related, so I had to try out the pig candy. The pig candy was good, not great. Maybe it's unfair to compare, but the pork belly burnt ends from Killen's are the gold standard here. Bosscat's bites were a little tougher and just not quite the same. Were they still worth ordering? Yes they were. But next time, I'd opt for one of the many other appealing options. The burger was really enjoyable. Everything about it just felt high-end: the bun, the quality of the meat and the fact that I didn't feel overly stuffed afterward. The fries were interesting - they were like the world's thickest potato skins. They are so large that you only get about 4-5 with a burger. I didn't love or hate them, but I did enjoy the ketchup that had a hint of unique flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I'm assuming it's made in-house. Now that I have finally visited, I am excited that we are getting a location much closer to my house in The Woodlands. When that opens, I will certainly be checking it out! read more

Bosscat: The food was good, but the chicken sausage was dry and the eggs were a little undercooked for my preference. If you prefer them less runny, be sure to ask for them to be cooked hard. Visited Bosscat for a last minute Saturday brunch with a friend. I've visited before but this was my first visit for brunch. There is street parking but I used valet (pricing is tipping-based). Didn't have a reservation but since it was just a friend and I, we found seating at the bar. The bar staff was friendly and attentive, there were about three and they rotate to take care of all those at the bar. I ordered the short-rib chilaquiles and my friend ordered the fruity pebble French Toast--both awesome. I'm a sucker for chilaquiles and if I see it on a menu--it's very likely I'll order. During my visit, the playlist was great. Notable and popular R&B tracks! There are plenty of TVs and I think they may open early to play some of the World Cup games. I'd definitely come back for brunch. read more
Came for happy hour with some friends, they have some decent happy hour deals and it wasn't super busy. They had cheap well drinks so I had a tequila sunrise. They had specific foods on the happy hour list as well so we got the grilled cheese and the Korean fried chicken sliders. Also tried the hush puppies. My girls and I made a large reservation for 7:30 it is now 9:30 and we have only eaten appetizers.......... (The spinach artichoke dip and the dirty rice egg rolls had zero flavor) I will never be back here and I will never recommend this place. We wanted to check it out for Houston Restaurant Week since none of us have been. The music is so loud, everyone is yelling to hear each other. When half of our party got their main course, it was cold. I went to speak to the manager and he was like well we are busy. This restaurant isn't that big, it's a Friday night with no wait. I'm sure this is a typical crowd flow for them. Needless to say he wasn't accommodating or did anything to hurry our order. It's disheartening that this was my first experience because I love to support local places. But I will not be back. (As we left the manager gave us a $10 off card ) At least the music they played was great! read more

Yes they are, on all three of their patios. The larger patio in the back is the smoking patio. The other two are smoke free.

Yes brunch is only on Saturday and Sunday. 10:00am to 2:30pm

No we popped up after 8pm on a Saturday night. We waiting less than 30min to be seated and it was 2 in our party.

It's not difficult to talk to table mates. I'd say it's average. Not quiet enough to whisper sweet nothings lol.
Is the patio heated? Thinking about whether it is useable in January.
I've never been outside but you can see heaters on the patio through the windows.
