This restaurant was absolutely amazing. From the service to the food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a lot lively/louder than most fine dining restaurants but I didn't mind it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband and I had the perfect table. Very romantic spot with the waterfall nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lemon drop martinis were delicious and plentiful. There sides are shareable size. The lobster mac and cheese was divine and there was plenty of lobster. We also had to try the crab fried rice...so good! Next time I'm in Houston, I will be returning to this restaurant.

I cannot lie I love Mastro's one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is always fire. I always like to sit by the waterfall every time I visit the restaurant, cause it gives such a romantic vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] it was a party at 10, but they only set the table for nine so one of the guests had to stand up and wait for a minute before I brought us a chair. That's the only downside but my visit to the restaurant but other than that, the food was great and my ribeye steak that I have was so delicious. I just can't stop thinking about it. I sample almost everyone's sides and they all were so delicious. Will, I return of course I will. Also, the butter cake I think they have the best butter cake in the city. It was so creamy and rich on the inside and the ice cream. Oh my gosh took the cake with the cake lol will I be returning again? Of course I will.

I stumbled upon this place when searching for fine dining in Houston. I wasn't expecting to experience the finest dining I ever had, but I should have known when I saw multiple Rolls Royce's in the parking lot. I was blown away by the service from the moment I walked through the door, and was greatful the host sat us outside right by the waterfall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was something I've never experienced; it was loud and lively, yet romantic and reclusive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was just enough romanticism in the atmosphere to turn a fun night out into the perfect setting for a rom com scene. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was some of the best I'd ever tasted and the lamb chops were cooked to the perfect temperature. The lemon drop martini possessed the perfect taste and presentation. This is by far my favorite fine dining restaurant in the country.

The staff was kind, I was there for an event so valet was complimentary. The food was ok. Nothing was a star. My steak was over cooked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I love this steakhouse. Masters lived up to the hype, exceeded my expectations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Food and service and ambiance was up to par[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Steak was cooked perfectly! Very satisfied with my steak. The lobster sushi had big pieces of lobster, it was filling and flavorful. So far this steakhouse has the best sides made from scratch. Their sides like Mac and cheese, tasted freshly made, so cheesy and delicious. The potatoes were whipped to perfection and tasted freshly made. I was so impressed. Their dessert was lovely with their huge whipped cream. The whipped cream was so good and so fluffy I could eat spoonfuls. Dangerously good. I was so happy with my experience at Mastros. I will come back and I definitely recommend this steakhouse. This spot is a must try if you have not been!

Dined in with family for a belated birthday dinner and we had the most amazing experience. From entry, parking was easy with their valet service. We were sat promptly and given great attention by our server. For starters we shared the meatballs, crab cakes, and lots of their bread. Everything was delicious. For my entree I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon, with shared sides of the creamed spinach, asparagus, broccoli, and white cheddar mac and cheese. I asked for medium plus but it did feel closer to medium- but still was a great steak. The spa day martini was refreshing and light. Our server was attentive to the point of us having multiple birthdays we celebrated and brought everyone their own dessert. The butter cake?? AMAZING!! I can't wait to find a reason to come here again.

Such a disappointing Mother's Day. Mastro's is my favorite resturaunt and I was looking forward to my favorite dish which is actually an appetizer. It was so disappointing. First off, our reservation were at 9:15. Someone called hours before and told up they would close at 9. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrive early and the place was bustling with people. I'd expect it to be slow if you were going to close early but.....?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Moving on, the scallop appetizer had such little sauce. This is my fave dish. I get it here in HTX, NYC and etc and it has never come out with this modicum of sauce. I'm not sure if it was just a portion thing due to the holiday or what but *sigh*. For entrees I ordered a filet and scalloped potatoes with creamed corn. The filet was cooked perfectly, creamed corn great also. The scalloped potatoes were not as delectable. It was as if the cheese was layered more so on top than in between. Like layers of potato with minimal cheese. All in all my worst experience at Mastro's. Maybe I should avoid coming on big holidays? It's so good on regular days.

My husband and I came on valentines day. We made a reservation online earlier that day. I believe this location was valet only because we couldn't find any parking whatsoever. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once we entered, there was a HUGE sea of people gathered at the entrance, which made it hard to get to the hostess stand.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We let the hostess know that we had a reservation at 10pm and she informed me that the table wasn't ready and that there would be a 30-40 minute wait.......We said thats fine (did we really have a choice??) Once we were sat, we decided to skip the appetizers and went straight for the entrees. Our Order: *Pomegranate Martini - this was pretty refreshing, i really enjoyed it 9/10 *16oz New York Strip - honestly this steak was good, but nothing special. It came with a side of butter. I got it with bone marrow butter, which i enjoyed, and my husband got it with black truffle butter which was also good. 8.5/10 *Lobster Mac and Cheese - phenomenal, it was sooo cheesy and fresh. I would get this again 10/10 *Mashed Potatoes - mashed potatoes are a must when eating steak but these were a complete miss for me. They were not your typical creamy steakhouse mashed potatoes, these had chunks in it, which is fine if they were actually cooked.... Unfortunately the undercooked potato chunks weren't worth it for me. 6/10 *Baked Potato - my husbands go-to steak side, just like the mashed potatoes, this was also hard and undercooked. 6/10 Overall: this will not be my go-to steakhouse. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day due to the holiday rush, but we have had better experiences on the same day at other steakhouses. I would be willing to try again but for me and this experience alone, I would give this a 7/10 I will say that the steak did taste better the following day!!!

Ask for Sara. Her recommendations were spot on. And you must get the butter cake with homemade whipped cream. Live music topped the evening off. 100% a great experience.

Valentine's Day 2026 at Mastro's was truly delightful. It was a breath of fresh air dining-wise, since the last couple of steakhouses I've chosen have not been so good. First, the wait for our table was short, which was good because the restaurant was packed. Our waiter was attentive to our needs, and the meal was exquisite. The decor inside was beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was vibrant. This was the best steak I've had in Houston in a while, and I highly recommend it to others.

Anything owned by landrys is worth a try. The service just hits different. Waiters are always attentive and kind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is top tier[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the food was amazing. Especially the butter cake. If nothing else TRY THE BUTTERCAKE!

This was my second time coming to Mastro's , and I have to say it never disappoints me. The first time was August 2022, and now January 2023. Once we arrived, our reservations were indicated for four instead of six, they were able to quickly accommodate us. When we first arrived, we had drinks at the bar with, sir Ivan. He was absolutely phenomenal, attentive, and definitely the go to bartender in that establishment. That man was absolutely breathtaking with the presentation of his cocktails, as well as knowledgeable with cocktails in general, and I cannot emphasize that enough. If you are ever at the bar, ask for Ivan! If you're seated, and you wanna cocktail, ask for Ivan, if he is there! Now, onto the entrées. My love had some steak, which I forgot to get a picture of it, with some lobster mac & cheese, we shared, as well as asparagus. I sure wish yelp with allow you to share videos, as you can see the true beauty of cocktails or As you can see here, I ordered the salmon, and a crabcake for an appetizer. the food was honestly phenomenal, and a true 10 out of 10. The ambience was relatively busy, as well as fairly dark. I wasn't too crazy about that, but they had TVs to see basketball, so I didn't have much to complain there after lol I do think there should be a bit of a dress code, because some people looked very... Let's just say, not presentable. I hope to see that change. Nonetheless, again, I had a second great experience, 10 out of 10, and I will be back once more. Update: valentine's Day 2026 Onur was our waiter for the evening. He was absolutely amazing from the beginning to end. First and foremost, from the beginning, we were welcomed with open arms and beautiful smiles at the front. Our host escorted us to our table and gave us further direction. Now, the star of the show was our waiter, Onur. He made amazing suggestions for myself, as well as as my man. We ended up getting a number of items from starters, appetizers, to our entrées, as well as cocktails. Our glasses were never empty, and our bellies were always full. This restaurant never ceases to amaze us nor fail us. The service is always exceptional, the ambience is always sexy, intimate and chic. And the food is always flavorful warm and never takes too long. But whenever y'all do come, ask for Onur, as a man goes above and beyond for his guest. Thank you again!

    Krystal D.

Lovely restaurant with your typical upscale steakhouse vibe - low lighting, white linens, etc. Service was good, friendly, and attentive. The 8oz filet was very good!! Cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth! Mashed potatoes as well as the mac n cheese were very good. *The mac n cheese is served in a HUGE shareable pan* The brussel sprouts weren't too great. Kinda hard and plain. Wouldn't get those again. Pork chop is really good too! All in all, I'd recommend trying Mastro's. We enjoyed ourselves.

It looked dark, clubbish, and fun (exactly what I was looking for) and I couldn't wait to come here. After a 25 minute Uber ride we were downtown and walking to our destination. At first we could not find it but thankfully a nice gentlemen showed us where it was. Upon walking in, darkness with these bright lights paved our way. We sat down at the bar, but realized dancing did not start until 10pm. The bartender came over and said to us "we have a speakasy behind door #3" we were like WHAT! Let's go. So, we walked down the dark hallway and pushed open door #3 (hence the name) to find this super cool speakeasy bar. Dim lights, really modern decor, comfy suede chairs and best of all, some really great cocktails. If you are ever in Downtown Houston, I highly recommend you coming here. I promise you will have the best time. We did not stay for dancing.

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

Giorgio's is one of two restaurants located in the beautiful Hotel Granduca across from Uptown Park. This is a very nice and upscale property with both valet and self parking available. When I made the reservation I initially chose inside dining but after arriving we decided to take advantage of their offer to sit outside to take advantage of their lovely patio by the pool and the very pleasant outdoor temperature that evening after a nice rain. We were seated near the door where the pianist was playing nice music inside that allowed us to enjoy it. Giorgio's HRW 3 course dinner this year was $39 and I ordered the Burrata Panzanella Salad as my first course followed by Cavatelli Bolognese for the second finishing with the Flourless Chocolate Cake for the third. While waiting we were brought some bread along with trays of peanuts, potato chips and popcorn which was a little unusual but no one complained about free food. I must say that all of my 3 courses were excellent tasting. The Burrata salad had a large serving of the above named cheese with fresh tomatoes, olives and ciabatta bread that was cool in temperature and I could have eaten another serving because it was so good. The pasta bolognese was equally delicious except warm in temperature with the Akaushi beef making a delicious bolognese sauce over the cavatelli. Finally the cake was fresh and full of chocolate flavor with berries and Nutella alongside a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream. This was a perfect finish for what was a fine meal. The outdoor setting was also perfect and one that I wouldn't hesitate to repeat. So why do I only give 4 stars? For some reason not understood by anyone in our party was the fact that this entire experience took us 3 hours from being seated to paying the checks for our 3 course dinners. They didn't appear to be too busy that night so I'm not sure why it took so long. Our group did enjoy our time together and filled it with good conversation but still this dinner should have taken at least 1 hour less. Talking about a slow relaxed pace for dinner....this was a little too slow. I would still be happy to return.

It was a bit disappointing, but it was my fault I should've actually confirmed that they still have…read morea bunch of spread instead of à la carte menu items. The menu was too limited for me, but I was at this point, way beyond hungry to drive around. So I'm opting to snack on a charcuterie board here...and then go somewhere else after. Brunch is hosted poolside.

Khalil made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down and kept checking in to make sure everything was perfect. He had a great attitude, gave solid recommendations, and made the whole experience feel personal instead of rushed. The food was on point, the vibe was exactly what we were looking for, and the customer service was top-tier. Huge shoutout to Khalil for making our night one to remember. We'll definitely be back!

Atmosphere is casual, service…read moreis friendly, the vibe is definitely Viking (and from what I have heard, it's really popping during brunch!). We came on. Friday after work during happy hour and the prices could not be beat, especially with their lobster bites (was sitting at about $30, and we got them half off!) Drinks were fantastic! I selected the "Golden Cadillac" that comes with a miniature bottle of Grand Marnier inside of it. Very good. My company decided on an array of appetizers for his "main course", while I went with their Fried Salmon (served with Mac and cheese, and collard greens). Omg! So tasty! The pepper was prevalent throughout, but it did not over power the flavor! I make collard greens at home (and learned from one of the best), and even I found theirs to be pretty good! My company selected fried ribs, along with the lobster bites, and crawfish queso dip, and their wings! I tasted what he got, and we both agreed that the wings were "off the chart" delicious with a beautiful straight off the grill smoky flavor! So good that he got another order to go! Lol. What made our experience there amazing was our server Ray (Rajean = think "the 90's TV Show "Living Single"..."smooches"!)...she was the best!! From her hello, to walking us through the menu (as first-timers), her recommendations, her energy, her smile, and her being very relatable. Loved her! My only gripe was the bathrooms, the ladies room needed attention (and could use a spruce all around). It doesn't help that it is a bit small, but yeah, they need to focus some efforts on ensuring it's upkeep. As for seating and parking, there is a bar area and limited seating toward the front of the restaurant, but it does extend to back of the house with additional seating. There is also patio seating as well. Because this place seems popular, it is best to reserve ahead to ensure your seating. Parking is very limited! They do however, offer valet (but at $20+). There is off-street parking, but be careful since this is a residential area and nothing is secure. All in all, I really had a great time and left with my belly full! Definitely worth checking out! What was lost is now found! Enjoy!

Thumbs Up: The rooftop lawn and garden are beautiful and provide a relaxing place to enjoy the city skyline. Thumbs Up: Portions of the rooftop are dedicated to gardens that grow fresh produce, adding a unique touch to the space. Neutral: I wasn't able to determine where the harvested produce ultimately goes. I'm sure the information is available somewhere, but I don't recall seeing it during my visits. Thumbs Up: I can actually see my home from the rooftop. Thumbs Up: I've watched a few rooftop concerts from my balcony. Thumbs Up: As an added bonus, it's always entertaining to hear some of my neighbors complain about the "noise pollution" during HOA meetings. Living Downtown comes with unique advantages and occasional inconveniences. If someone can't tolerate city life, they may be happier living in the suburb provinces. Thumbs Down: Access to the rooftop is sometimes restricted during seasonal events and special art installations. I understand the need for ticketed events, but I wish general access to the public spaces could remain available whenever practical. Thumbs Down: I am able-bodied, but I couldn't help noticing that rooftop access appears difficult for visitors who use wheelchairs or have mobility impairments. The elevators are not easy to locate, and several were out of service during my many visits. Improving accessibility would make this space more welcoming for everyone.

Yelp Houston has hosted some events at the Outpost in the past. During the summer, it gets very hot! They have quite a few covered/shaded areas and there's vendors throughout if you need water or a beverage. There's lots of seating too (both covered and uncovered).
