**Note that you won't find this review on the company's website because the owner, Jaime Dovale, removes all negative reviews ... which, in addition to being deliberately deceptive and dishonest, obviously defeats the purpose of reviews.** Certified. Automotive. Disaster. Without question, this was the worst experience I've ever had as a consumer of any product or service (I'm 58) ... nothing else even comes close. This saga spanned over 2 1/2 years ... it wasn't an isolated incident, and certainly not an outlier. I made the terrible mistake of trusting Jaime Dovale to do a full body-off overhaul of my 2006 Jeep Wrangler, and I couldn't have made a worse choice. Dovale said he was capable of doing the job and estimated that it would take 4-5 weeks. The scope of the project modestly increased as we proceeded, but I ultimately didn't get my Jeep back for 6 months (25 weeks to be exact) ... and only then after frequent visits to check on the status and many requests for completion. When I finally picked up my Jeep, Dovale's endless drivel and empty promises collided with reality ... and reality has prevailed from that day on. I received an absolute mess with which I've been dealing ever since ... a vehicle so riddled with problems that I had to take it back to Certified Automotive Disasters 15 times in the next 13 months ... appalling by any standard. Just think about how insane that is ... 15 times, AFTER he did a full overhaul (ultimately, 17 times in 25 months). And I also had to schedule 3 appointments with a local Jeep dealer and 1 appointment with an auto glass shop to fix problems that Dovale was unwilling to acknowledge, incapable of fixing, or both ... for a grand total of 21 returns in 26 months to fix virtually everything he and his hack techs touched ... and problems remain to this day. Dovale ruined a vehicle that I bought new and had always meticulously maintained ... I now have problems that didn't previously exist (most infuriatingly, water leaks thanks to Dovale's hack body work ... which means my interior gets soaked every time it rains), and he doesn't have the ability or integrity to fix them. NAPA has a limited two-year warranty on its parts and labor, but it turned out that much of the hack work that Dovale did on my Jeep wasn't covered. Yet Dovale falsely claimed, repeatedly, that ALL of his work was covered by a two-year warranty ... a complete lie. He finally admitted (via text) that, actually, he has no written warranty ... which means no warranty exists ... by far, Dovale is the most dishonest businessperson I've ever encountered. I complained to NAPA about a rear main seal leak that Dovale failed to fix twice, and that he then denied was even leaking ... after the local Jeep dealer confirmed that it was the seal, NAPA paid for me to have it repaired at that dealer ... I have the reimbursement check to prove it. Whoever heard of an auto repair shop that is so incompetent that they pay to have the work done at a dealer? I certainly hadn't ... until Certified Automotive Disasters. There isn't enough space in this review to explain all of his careless, sloppy, incompetent mistakes, including many that put my safety at risk ... far worse than a bad DIY job. I've had exponentially more problems since Dovale 'fixed' my Jeep than I did in the previous 15 years combined ... body work, clutch, 4WD, wheel balancing, steering/suspension, exhaust/tailpipe, check engine light, alternator, rear main seal, door seals, header seal, windshield, rear wiper, tailgate hinges/alignment, headlight alignment, turn signals, damage to interior, and the list goes on. And on top of the mind-boggling list of problems/mistakes/errors, the stress, inconvenience, and disruption to my life that he caused is incalculable ... constant and nonstop. I wouldn't trust Dovale to properly inflate a tire ... but if you don't value your vehicle, your money, or your time, then Certified Automotive Disasters is the place for you. read more

Purchased a used Volvo from certified automotive solutions last fall. A complete lemon. After 9 months and multiple repairs (completed by certified automotive solutions at full price), the car is going to be scrapped. Jamie assured me of the quality and reliability of the car but when I took it to another repair shop they pointed out serious problems that weren't disclosed- or they were covered up. I can't speak to the service department but i won't recommend purchasing a car from them- or if you do have it checked out before you buy. read more

Just prior to my trip to Maine, I learned from a dealership, that I needed new front brakes & pads. The cost seemed high (as I know brakes can be), so I contacted other auto repair shops. Brought my 2003 Accord in for faulty power window. They did a thorough check of my car and gave details of other worked needed to be done (stars for that). Their prices are high and quoted over $2,000 for all their recommended work . I didn't like that they charged $60 for inspection because I didn't want to get the window done there although I still paid $120 for filter changes. I went to another mechanic for a second opinion and got my window fixed elsewhere for $290 (saved over $200 from what certified auto solutions quoted because they only want to use original parts on my 18 year old car) I had the other mechanic check the recommended work and other mechanic said it wasn't needed at the time, no charge for inspection. read more

This is by far the best auto shop I have ever been to. I had some serious car trouble one day and was trying to find someone to squeeze me in. No one would except Certified Automotive Solutions. I made the drive up from Boston and they handled the rest. They drove me to a local cafe so I could work done while they were fixing my car, they kept me informed the whole way, and went above and beyond with fixing my car. I didn't know how bad my car situation was until Joe showed me what was wrong and what it would take to fix it. They were reasonable, honest, and even stayed late to get my car good to go in under 24 hours. I was visiting from NY and needed to be able to have the car next day. He called me promptly with my repair diagnosis, estimate and additional information he found with my 03 Honda Accord. I went there for an overall car inspection in Nov, 2018, and my overall experience with this car shop is very satisfying. Here are the reasons: (1) The cost is reasonable, and the cost is probably on the lower end, compared to other local car shops. (2) The car shop owner is honest and he didn't exaggerate my car problems. I needed to replace a driving belt on my car, but the car shop owner told me that my driving belt could still last for a while and there was no need to replace it soon. I consider his comments as a sign of honesty and he wasn't eager to make me pay. (3) This car shop provided free rides for customers to pick up their cars or to go to nearby restaurants when their cars were being serviced. read more

They were helpful to the extreme, advising her after examining all the systems that the car was not worth fixing (to which I agreed when I reviewed their findings) and charging her nothing for their time. They did rear brakes on my Volvo C70 charged $450, started rattling 3 month later just had to get rears done again from another place charged me $265 for same job and mechanic said they put the wrong size rotors on and a brake clip fell off or was put on wrong. With further inspection he showed me the roters and pads were made for a Ford Escape. I fing hate getting ripped off. Never again it said Ford on the pads. read more

They guys are great. I went to them last winter and spring for some repairs on my car, pretty big ones - my shocks were shot, so to speak, and my car needed to be realigned. They were completely upfront about the labor costs before they even touched the car. That is to say, they called me while they were inspecting the car to let me know that in order to do X they would need to do Y, which might cost $Z, and asked me if they could continue on. My car is still working wonderfully and the issues I had have not come back in over a year (and hopefully won't). One person in particular, we'll call him "J", was nice to chat with and ran through each detail about what they were going to do on the car before they did anything and also what they did with the car after they finished the repairs. Only downsides: they are a bit pricey and not open on the weekends. However, they are incredibly knowledgeable about car mechanics and upfront about the prices, which I appreciate. read more
