This place was actually pretty good, my friends and I decided to stop by for a late lunch on the 31st of December. Since things around the restaurant were running slow we were seated right away. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. We decided to have a couple of appetizers while we waited for our meals; the Classic Nachos without pico de gallo, a Chicken Quesadillas without pico de gallo, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, and finally their Big Dig Fries. The only problem we had was that the guys in our group forgot to tell the waitress no sour cream (for some reason none of them like sour cream :/ no idea why), other then that the food was great; they picked around it and we didn't mind. The Nachos were excellent, the Quesadillas wasn't so great I'm guessing it was the whole shredded chicken, the Spinach and Artichoke Dip was just eh but their flour tortilla chips were yummy, but the Big Dig Fries were AMAZING. They really aren't lying when they say a heaping portion of waffle fries covered with monterey jack and cheddar cheese, bacon and sour cream (I couldn't stop they were just so good). Not only were the appetizers great, but so was my burger. I've been craving a burger for awhile and this one really hit the spot. I also had a bite of their Margherita Pizza which was also great. It was very warm in there even with the blinds pulled. The server wasn't very friendly or attentive. Beer wasn't very cold. Nachos were awesome! I got the short rib Mac and cheese. Get a window seat if you can, not to bash the establishment but the place wasn't in great condition. No air conditioning in the bathrooms, an odd noticeable odor in the restaurant which was a turnoff. It could just be the plaza they're in - needs tons of work. Not a fan! My husband and I went for lunch and ordered soup and salad. Service was slow and the server didn't really seem interested in working. She brought the check and when I took a look I saw both of us were charged the full price not the lunch price. I asked the waitress she looked at me weird and took the check to make the change. I just left BBG for the last time...ever. Their food has always been subpar. We've had rotten tomatoes, brown (very brown) lettuce, etc., but the atmosphere and service has always been great, so we've kept going back. However, tonight was crazy and still feels surreal. We were served "almost last call" drinks after 10:50. At 11:05 the bartender yelled over to us that they "closed 5 minutes ago", to "chug" our drinks and leave! Yes - we were literally told to chug our 3/4 full drinks - I'm still in shock. The bartender (who was not our server) threatened to get the manager, so we said okay since we've never experienced behavior like that at any restaurant or bar. We were just sitting there, trying to finish our drinks quickly when the manager came out yelling at us to finish our drinks and get out now! He even threatened to call the cops (this one is still insane to me because we were just sitting there trying to finish our drinks). In the midst of yelling, he all of a sudden said they were at a funeral all day. Now I genuinely feel bad for all of them. We obviously had no idea. There is no good time for a funeral and it's especially hard around the holidays. We left at 11:15 and even while walking out the door, the manager was still yelling and making nasty comments to us. A few of my friends, who went with us, are in the service industry (servers and bartenders) and their minds were blown by the way (not only the bartender), but the MANAGER spoke to us. It would never fly at their restaurant, but I guess this just goes to explain why BBG is so empty on a Thursday night compared to Rusty's (another bar right across the street). My heart goes out to those impacted by the funeral they went to today. However, to be yelled at, have bills and pens thrown at us, and to be threaten by calling the police is truly inexcusable. I think it's safe to say that my friends and I will not be returning to BBG and only sticking with Rusty's after games. To be fair, I am rating this place on food alone - because we get hungry when we watch sports and have beverages. Really want to like the place and people are friendly but, the current food selection is way overpriced and completely inedible. That's right, even our many Naples friends who might occasionally wander in for drinks won't eat there (a known fact and running joke in our community). Everything that we've tried, cheese dip (dip is flavorless and the chips are horrible), turkey tips, wraps, fries, pastas, burgers, crab cakes, steaks (way below average), $11 nachos (yuck), etc, much of it is previously frozen (contrary to the website statement) and/or have little or no taste. Just pull up the reviews on other sites (that are not written by an employee). We were once told they can not remove bacon from a turkey wrap because it's "pre-frozen that way." There are zero healthy options to choose from either (and no, a $9++ frozen, flavorless, flat veggie patty does not count). It's a shame because it could be a cool neighborhood sportsbar and we would pack the place (big game on or not) but really needs a thorough menu overhaul - if management can't tell the difference between good and bad bar food, get a focus group. Case in point: If you are going to do a Lobster Mac & Cheese, may we suggest trying Capital Grille's - a huge favorite among connoisseurs - 100x better and priced much less than your $20. read more

This place is crappy. The food is disgusting and for a "beer bar" their beer selections are really lacking. To top it off, the service sucks. After taking our food order, our server not once acknowledged us. I even walked up to the serving tray where the kitchen staff dropped our food off and delivered our meals to the table MYSELF! Celebrated here after the annual Hits Endurance race in the city. I'm personally not a beer drinker but the guys I was with loved the beer selection here. We all had burgers... I've always considered this bar a local's spot and it is. Food is always prepped well. What I mean by that is it's bar fare but made really good. A step above their competition in the area for sure. My husband and I go the BBG a few times a month. My suggestion is to get the burgers. They are always juicy and cooked perfectly. They have a decent kids menu and their prices are reasonable. When my husband, our son and I go for dinner we usually spend about $40 including a beer or two. If you are a New England chowder fan, you've got to try theirs. I order it every time. Its thick, hearty and full of flavor. One item I did not like was their side of Mexican rice. It was basically white gooey rice that tasted like it was cooked in sugar water. Even though it is a sports bar, its appropriate for families. It has lots of flatscreens on the walls and a nice outdoor patio. The service is good and ambiance is ok. It can get loud and crowded at night, especially on weekends. We try to go at lunchtime and early dinner hours, when its not so crowded. It also gets a little to dark for us at night. read more

Visited 12/29 at 8:00 and waited several minutes at hostess station to be acknowledged. Busy yes, overly full so they couldn't acknowledge me, no. Finally Joseph decided to acknowledge us when there were 3 other parties also waiting to be seated. Server (Joseph) neglected to provide silverware nor get our dinner orders after the food runner dropped off our nacho's for app. By the time he returned to check on us, nacho's were cold. Tasted good once we had silverware so it was too bad they were cold. Ordered 3 burgers... 1 med and 2 med/well. Medium came out well and other two came out as hockey pucks. Not sure if it was the chef or our waiter letting them sit on the counter and continue to cook. Either way, disappointed. Too bad as this looks like it could be a good hang out spot if our server was trained. But with all the other great places/options in Naples, not worth gambling that they would get it right on a second visist. read more
